I am sorry Absurd Bird but I had high hopes. Have been looking forward to going here since the day it opened & today was the day. Initially good impression, nice decor and quite spacious, friendly welcome and staff and menus sounded amazing.
I ordered the total melt, sounded like it had all things I would like and was interestingly put together. It was a complete faff, basically had to take it all apart to eat it. The smallest piece of chicken strip on the slider, smallest chicken wing and a skewer with halved cherry tomatoes and sliced pickles which I didn't even eat. The worst part of this was the cheese sauce, it was so bland and gloopy. Most of the dish was cold too which probably happened while I was having to dismantle the dish from skewers and a jar.
The other person in my party got 6 chicken strips and it was the smallest portion for a main dish. Luckily we had ordered dirty fries to share and try which we ordered without jalapeños but came with them all over it. We asked the waitress to take them back as we didn't want jalapeños, two seconds later she brought them back which obviously had just been scraped off in that time and some jalapeños were still visible. We couldn't eat them & when we asked for them to be taken off the bill we got apology that this mistake happened nor that they had just scraped them off. The waitress didn't seem to care or even notice that I had half my plate left as the gloopy cheese stuff meant I couldn't even eat my nachos.
One more disappoint was how long it took to get a drink and then dinner. They also gad no dry white left, what? Really! A new establishment with no dry white wine.
All in all it was a very disappointing experience. I had already planned on going next week with friends for bottomless wings and I am willing to give the crispy wings a try so will update after this if I feel it was better than this time. read more
