Best chicken and waffles. Legit southern cooking in Scotland, but pricey. Alright man, I'm gonna be blunt. I'm black, from Detroit. I know good chicken when I have it. This is the real deal. I was extremely surprised with the quality of this food and amazed I had been sleeping on this restaurant for so long. My only gripe is the fact it's a bit on the pricey side. I mean, I guess the average person doesn't eat out as much as I do so they wouldn't have to worry about that since it'd be a rare treat. But, when you travel and eat out as much as my mother and I do, it adds up. That said, this place is amazing and I recommend the chicken and waffles with mac and cheese on the side.

I had the special which was waffles, mac and cheese topped with the chicken. I paid £2 extra to upgrade to "spicy". The main was great, it was spicy without being overpowering and the chicken was just lovely. I also ordered the Korean spiced wings and the salt and chilli chips and also some slaw (I shared some of this btw). All washed down by a Drygate Pilsner. I'd definitely go back again. I also ordered the Alabama Fudge Cake, which wasn't too great. But I'm cool with that, it's not what I went there for.

Best wings I have ever had in Scotland. Good atmosphere, very casual and comfortable place. Good range of sauces and they also have a hot sauce bar to tempt your tastebuds. Chicken and waffles are tasty. Wish they had chicken breast on the bone and thighs as they only have chicken breast off bone and legs but still, the fried chicken is tasty. Good range of sides. The slaw could be better and I wouldn't have again. I wish they had fried pickles. The fries are pretty decent had to try the Chinese salt and pepper fries. (Not bad but Not sure why they have Chinese fries in a chicken joint) Prices are reasonable and you can have a starter and main course for two with drink for around £30 which is good value. Worth a visit and have been here twice this week. Deserves 4 1/2 stars. If the sides had a bit more pizzaz and they got some chicken on the bones this would be 5 star.

The restaurant has a great vibe, I've visited on a Friday night, I didn't need any reservation, it was busy though they had live music and the staff are very attentive. Ordered the famous buttermilk which they were happy to make it boneless, I also wanted to ordered the wings however they can be only made as is, with bones, so I choose the buffalo Chick burger. The buttermilk is crispy, and tastes amazing! The coleslaw is done with beetroot, not bad! On the other hand the burger was the right choice to enjoy a hot and spicy meal! I think they used the same sauce for the wings which made a perfect boneless meal. The portions are big, sometime very big, and great value for money.

I'm gonna try keep this one fairly short. Bucks Bar (stoopid name), is the sister bar of 2 of my favorites, Slouch and Howling Wolf - and only opened last month. I took a wander in here with the Mr last night on our date night pub crawl. At first I was pretty unsure of it. It was really quiet - but everywhere was that night. It's nicely decked out - puts me in mind of a southern speakeasy (not really sure why, it just does!). There's a raised platform in the corner for dj / live music, and has a full menu - which left me really wanting to try chicken waffles. The music was great, and nicely unobtrusive. I'll Def be back, and look forward to the bar getting a bit worn in - currently, it's so new you can't slide across the sears!

Remember that advert for a well known baking sauce with Ian Wright dancing like an idiot? Well on Monday night me and my friends were singing along to Wrighty as we headed to Bucks Bar, a relatively new addition to the Glasgow "scene". Situated at what used to be Jacker de Viande it looks very similar on the inside with the exception of booths instead of tables and less macabre butchery decorating the walls. Being Monday it was exceptionally quiet and we were of one of only two tables in which made it hard to judge what exactly the vibe should be. The menu is very chicken heavy which you should expect given it's USP is chicken in multiple forms. For me I had to have the Chicken & Waffles with Maple Syrup and in the main, it didn't disappoint. The waffle was soft and fluffy and the chicken (no bones) was moist and the coating well seasoned and crispy. The only bum note being the temperature with it being a tad on the cool side, a surprise given how quiet it was. We shared some accompaniments of onion rings and sweet potato. Although personally I've had better sweet potato fries both were good enough to hit the mark. Our dinner was supplemented by " THE HOT RACK" a devilish addition designed to ruin lives and taste buds but at the same time bring a kind of sadistic joy to your evening. Some of the unmarked bottles were particularly intriguing with one causing my cheeks to flame up like nobodies business whilst the ghost pepper sauce realise is only for the brave! For dessert I had the apple pie which had a good kick of cinnamon flavour served with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. The chicken was very good and I liked the hot rack although the service was a little slow. I'd give it a four for now as the atmosphere was near non-existent (to be fair it was a Monday) so would like to see it on a busy night before going any higher or lower.

I was excited for this last minute Friday night treat with my girlfriend at Buck's Bar. I was thinking this was going to be a 5 star review having done some homework on the place. We were in and out in half an hour - which suited us as we were going to a show. The positives were that it had a nice vibe and nice staff. To start we ordered a soft drink each. I am fresh of a trip from Australia/NZ so hopefully i have not lost touch of the local market, but the glasses were small and were full of ice. I think if i tried i could have finished it in one gulp, if the ice was removed. So i was left a bit disappointed there. The coating on the chicken was nice, but we both found the chicken to be too chewy. Overall, I do not plan on making a return visit.

    Mmmm chicken!

This place has been on "my list" for a couple of months now and I am happy to report I was not disappointed. The food and service were both excellent. I will definitely be back

(My previous review is for a wing pop up he did). Thanks to Austen, Trudie, Pammi & Ally, I had the inside scoop of which burger to order - they all said the Top Dog was the best. I was a little confused as I assumed that was a hot dog but nope, it's a burger. What's in it? Beef patty, double bacon, bone marrow, Roquefort butter, caramelized onion and black truffle mayo on the side. And it came with chips. There was a bit of a wait but we were drinking with friends so weren't too bothered. The burgers were nicely presented on a tray with the chips in a pot. Excellent chips and I really liked the black truffle mayo. The burger was obviously the highlight though - it was totally delicious. I actually don't eat too many beef burgers these days as I find a lot of them are overcooked and bland but this was heaven - perfectly cooked meat (rare) and the Roquefort was just the perfect match as it really gave the burger a punch. The combination of flavours was just perfect for me and I really enjoyed it. I've had some good burgers in my time and I really do mean it when I say this is right up there at the top. My only negative comment is really the pricing - £13.50 for a burger and chips is pretty hefty but I can also understand why as this is a special pop up burger which tastes amazing and obviously uses quality product. For me, I wouldn't have this burger every day but as a special occasion treat, hell yes.

The theme inside was kinda surprising. It had a lot of movie and tv references, the most prominent being Star Wars. We also watched someone try their heat challenge. I'll just say I felt bad for the guy. We asked the waitress afterwards and she said not many pass. Most fail after 2-3 wings. Their normal heat selection goes from 1-8, but their heat challenge goes up to 11. For our food, I tried the Margarita wings, located in their "boozy" section. I really enjoyed these as they had a lot of flavor. I also got a side of mac and cheese, and chose chipuffalo sauce - a combo of chipotle and buffalo - it added a great flavor to the mac and cheese with just the right amoumt of heat. The other wings I tried were the Bit of French, which is garlic pepper flavored. It was actually really bland. I ended up dipping them into the remaining chipuffalo sauce. The restaurant is in a lot of stone, so you get almost no cell service. Just an FYI.

I think it is important for us to include in the review if the establishment is halal as we also have a lot of Muslim Yelpers and friends who would love to know that and we can help them in selecting restaurant. Zuhus has a menu very much like Nando's. Or shall I say 'exactly' like Nando's. It's basically mainly peri peri based chicken, burgers and wraps. I came here twice but only had the peri peri chicken. The guy who served me was very accommodating. I ordered half a chicken but with 2 quarter chicken legs and he gave it to me. The taste of he chicken was up to scratch and the meat itself was juicy and tender. The size of the chicken I believe is slightly bigger than what Nando's is serving, which is of course a value for money. They have won my points on all aspects on value, taste and portion. However, they have lost my point on creativity and originality. This place is an exact replica of Nando's. From the menu, sauce and the bottle for the sauce (tall rectangular bottle). Why can't they come up with something more original? I would still recommend people to come here and definitely be back again myself.
