    We came after their refurbishment. The new interior is nicely done and a bit of an eclectic mix much like their dishes. You can see the kitchen in the front corner and the hustle and bustle from all the talent bringing their experiences to the dishes. Hugo Spritz: It was hot when we went and this was cool and refreshing. I rarely repeat the same drink but got 2 of these. Limoncello, St. Germaine, and Mint. Cod Roe: whipped cod cream with furikake. Served with endives for dipping. The flavor of the whipped cod was very heavy and I probably would have enjoyed something more neutral for dipping. BBQ mackerel crudo in a citrus dashi: they went to extremes to soften the ultra fishy taste of mackerel but the smoke exemplified the fishiness and the citrus with pools of oils did not make the dish look appetizing. Confit Lamb Shoulder: with yougurt, harissa, and pickled cucumbers. Spicy and loved the radish this was served on. The Harissa was hot and surprised something so spicy was on a general menu. Beef Featherblade: slow cooked and tender beef with a potato puree. A safe menu option but we enjoyed it more than their novel dishes.

    Wonderful meal with something for everyone on the menu. Lots of small plates so you can get a chance to share. My favorites of the meal were the bitter leaves with Earl grey and gingerbread- sooo good! The monkfish cheek dish has a lovely, rich curry sauce underneath. The hummus was also fantastic. And to finish off the strawberry trifle was so refreshing. Staff and interiors are on point!

    One of the best places I ate at in Scotland. Made a reservation for lunch for four people beforehand and you must pay a small deposit. Indoor dining only. Even on a weekday at 12:30, the place was buzzing. Restrooms are on the bottom floor. Credit cards accepted. They have plenty of wine options and also have tap water. The ambiance is casual but it's a cute, airy spot. It's industrial looking with high ceilings and would be great for a date. Food-wise, we ordered the following: - Sourdough and butter - a classic start. A bit basic, but when when you're in the UK, you want to take advantage of being able to enjoy their dairy. - Whipped feta - my favorite part of the meal. This came with pita bread and the feta was nice and creamy. We ate the leftover feta with our other bread. - Skate wing - Skate is a fish (didn't know they before but you learn something new every day). It's a larger cut and good for a group that's hungry but still wants to be healthy. - Ricotta gnocchi: a table favorite. The sauce was so fresh and you could lick the plate clean. - Pan fried pork belly - not my favorite, but it was tender - Tender stem broccoli - a standard veggie dish that is on the smaller side - Green beans - I would highly recommend getting this. The mascarpone and the 'nduja elevated this dish. - Grilled ox tongue - it was very tender and was well offset by the pickled veggies

    Service was quick and kind. I have had this place bookmarked for years.... Really... pre-pandemic and finally made it. I was on my own in a Friday at open with no resos and they were able to accommodate me at the communal table close to the kitchen. I had the flatbread w the whipped feta, the cod cheeks and the beef tartare. The whipped feta with the honey and peppers was so flavourful: The beef tartare was over-seasoned and the chef took the feedback and prepped me another one which came out so much better. The cod cheeks were cooked perfectly and the chorizo that was paired with it worked so well with the dish. In other circumstances, I'd definitely come back w a larger party to try more things

    Good food is obvious; it announces itself with the first bite. Served tapas style, Ox and Finch's dishes are creative & marry harmonious flavor combinations. Add to that a reasonable price point, a casual, relaxed vibe, & efficient service, & dinner here is easily a five-star experience. Highly recommend trying: -- lemon & parsley olives (£4) -- fried artichokes, garlic yoghurt, & burnt aleppo butter (£7.50): my favorite dish of the evening -- buffalo mozzarella, cantaloupe, pistachio, & chili (£9) -- pan fried pork belly, apricot, & radicchio (£10) -- chips w/ garlic aioli (£3.95) -- apricot brandy semifreddo, amaretti, & poached apricots (£6) -- chocolate blancmange, malt cream, & salted honeycomb (£7) Notes on two dishes which were a hair shy of perfection: -- dry aged bavette with chimichurri (£14.50 for 200g) needed an outer crust to offset its tenderness -- flavor of ricotta gnocchi, pea puree, & pistachio pesto (£8.50) was sort of one noted; the only dish we didn't finish or take home. Locals & tourists alike know that Ox & Finch is a culinary gem; secure your spot with an advance online booking.

    Selection abounds in small sizes, and fun in large sizes at Ox & Finch. My crew hadn't arrived to town yet so I was going solo. I was happy to see olives (not that anyone else cares) on the menu to accompany my lovely localish draft. Starting the theme for the afternoon, the olives had a citrusy taste that was unique. Second: beef tartare, which was amazing. Nice crunchy eggy combination made me wish this was more than a small plate. Third: sea trout (steelhead) was cooked medium (definitely not overdone) with a tempting sauce. I was sad my friends didn't attend and give me a reason to order 6x as many items since so much looked excellent--even the desserts. I'll return for a pre-meal meal I'm thinking later this week!

    This place has the skills to pay the bills! Michelin recommended and for good reason! The ambiance inside was great, the staff was friendly and food was delicious. The menu is divided up into smaller plates like apps and larger plates meant to be eaten as the main dish with some side options as well. It was more tapas style than typical entrees. Regardless, it was all delicious. The steak to the chicken confit to the lamb were all delicious. The whipped feta and Brussels were probably my two favorite apps that we ordered as well. There truly wasn't anything that I ordered that I didn't like

    Make sure you make a reservation. We tried to walk in, but the next available appointment was 9:30 pm. So we made a reservation for the following night at 9 pm. We enjoyed our dinner here. I like the concept of small dishes tapas style, so we could try a variety of dishes. The artichokes, beef tartare, and lamb shoulder were our favorites. The chocolate cremeux was delicious. It was a warm cozy ambiance. Definitely worth the visit.

What I particularly like is that they have veg in bowls for passing around the group, rather than just dish them out regardless of people's preferences. You can have as much or as little as possible. Oh, and all their desserts are amazing, and they have different specials every week. The cheesecake is particularly good (and I shouldn't have it because of my lovely allergies), and they make their own tablet to go with the coffee! The waiting staff are ever attentive, filling your glass with the table wine whenever they spot an empty glass. They're always smiley and up for a chat as well! Could have done with room to move the meat around underneath, as some bits were a little oily, but it just needed mixed. Absolutely delicious delicate flavours mind. My only criticism of the meal experience, was the house wine they supply. Simply put at £10/12 a bottle - frankly rotten stuff. We ended up ordering from the buttery wine list to £41 for a bottle of pinot noir, to get something you could drink without tasting the chemicals! At £10/12, you can do a lot better on the wine front - no excuse there I'm afraid. Whole meal itself was a delight & more a dining experience with the quirks of old style plates/cutlery like in the pig and the butterfly restaurants. The vibe tho is grown up, serene and subdued in the best ways, the cream walls were dotted with beautiful abstract art in shades of grey, there was a large fireplace feature, soothing just audible music, fresh red roses on the table (it was valentines!) linen table cloths. It was beautiful and even though it was jumping it felt like a calm and soothing environment. The staff were exactly what you would expect from a restaurant like the Sister - delightful. They were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the service was fast...probably faster than it normally would be due to the date, having said that I never once felt rushed or harassed - the staff were just sharp and on the ball with clearing plates. The menu at the sisters is like a love letter to Scotland, it was loaded with haggis, black pudding, fish, venison, beef cheeks, clootie dumpling and puff candy. It was like head chef Jackie O'Donnell had stepped into my childhood and brought all those foods into the 21st century. I could very easily have chosen any dish on offer from each course, it's an utterly lush menu. In the end I decided to try the haggis, neeps and tatties to start, I never took pictures of the menu so I forget the exact description of the dish. My first thought upon seeing my dish was wow! There was a puddle of glossy gravy, in the middle was a large haggis cake topped with neeps and a fritter....yes a freakin FRITTER!! I was beside myself as I am sure by now you know how I feel about fritters. The food was utterly gorgeous and without fault, the haggis was tasty and slightly spicy, the neeps were light and creamy, and the fritter was crisp and perfect. Gorgeous! For my main I finally decided on the Chicken breast with Stornoway black pudding, creamed leeks & a red wine jus with a side of Rooster tatties & market vegetables to share. Again visually it was so beautiful to look at. Taste wise it was amazing, the chicken was moist and tender, the creamed leeks still had bite and were seasoned to perfection, the big wedge of black pudding was soft and crumbly, the mash was silky and the red wine jus was lush and decedent. The side was also a triumph - the roasted potatoes were crispy golden nuggets of joy and the veg was incredibly tasty, I even liked the broccoli (I hate broccoli) but I loved however they cooked it. After all that food dessert was touch and go for a while, but there was no way I could leave without trying the Puff candy meringue with honeycomb, ice cream & hot butterscotch sauce. Now lets not kid ourselves this dish it basically a plate of sugar in various forms.....but boy what a plate of sugar it was. The puff candy meringue was light and delicate, the honeycomb was crunchy and sweet and the butterscotch sauce was thick and creamy. This dessert is as good as desserts get. It was a stunning gift from the sugar gods! All in all a pretty exceptional meal and up there with the best I have eaten in Glasgow without question. This is a must try restaurant for me and I will definitely visit again very soon.

We ordered the Pigeon Breast, Bramble, Chicory, Walnut , the Tenderstem Broccoli and the Organic Arran Leaf & Herb Salad with Mustard Vinaigrette, and both dishes completely blew us away. The flavor combinations were thoughtful, unique, and perfectly balanced. This is one of those special spots worth treating yourself to at least once. Whether it's a romantic evening or a celebration with friends, it's an unforgettable dining experience on one of Glasgow's most charming lanes.
