We stopped in here for lunch after visiting Grey friar Kirk and was heading back to the Royal Mile. The staff was super friendly and very attentive. They kept checking in to make sure everything was good with our meal. Our party of 5 were all happy with everything we ordered and would definitely come back here again for Tapas.

We enjoyed our tapas dinner. A table of 4 we ordered 9 tapas total and that worked just fine. All were good. They came at once, which is different from what I am used to, where the plates come in as they are ready. All were good, the chorizo stood out as did spicy potatoes. Service is good.

This spot brought back memories of Spain and for breakfast, I kept it totally Spanish. I had tea with patatas bravas and and the Pan Catalan. My girlfriend had a beautiful eggs benedict with chorizo and we shared pancakes with delicious strawberries and clotted creme. Everything was spot on and excellent. I told the manager of my travels to Spain and that the dishes took me back for a brief time. The restaurant is beautiful and gives that Andalusian look to their diningroom and decor.

All around, this is a solid spot for Spanish food. My friend and I did not make a reservation, but were still able to get a table for two on a Thursday night. Our server was very kind and gave helpful recommendations! We ordered the paella, pulpo, and chorizo, all of which were excellent. The patatas bravas were not a standout, but still tasty. The real star was the chocolate and almond brownie. It was warm, gooey, everything you'd want in a dessert!

Food and the ambiance was great. They have two locations which are not too far from each other. The drinks were delicious and the food was one of the tastiest in the city. I wish I could say the same about the service. Our server was a petite dark hair girl who was just not in the mood to answer our questions. Of course we can't pronounce some of the names on the menu we are not Spanish and she seemed so bothered by it. This place is the only place with bad service in my experience. The food comes in various times so dig in and don't wait. Also the food runner was not sure what was our order. So we got two things that we never ordered and two things missing. The flavors were great though. I took one star out for the lack of being almost rude.

Solid 3and half stars. Lovely food and service. We tried and assortment of tapas and all were delicious. The chorizo and black pudding was excellent and the paella tapa was also very flavourful and both are a must. Service was quick and the restaurant has good ambience.

The food in this restaurant was the worst during my entire Uk trip. The seafood in particular was not fresh at all. There are so many other restaurants in that area. Any one of those would be better than this.

Stumbled upon this location while doing some sight seeing and made it a point to go for a visit on our last night in Edinburgh. The place has nice atmosphere and decor. It is a sit down joint, so don't expect to pop in and back out again. We had an appetizer, main, and dessert, which were all quite tasty, but this review is really for the paella. It is made fresh so takes a bit of time. In general this was a nice dish for sharing. We thought there could have been more proteins. This is a solid dish, but we I thought it would have been a bit more flavorful and just moreish than it was. The desert churros were very good as was the bread with spread for appetizer. In fact, I thought the beginnings and endings far outshone the paella. Will we be back? Eh, maybe. Will we make a concerted effort to eat here? Eh, maybe not.

We got three dishes, and the creamy potatoes were pretty good. However, the chicken was very bland and didn't taste good. I did enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant, as it was romantic and the servers were kind and friendly. However, just based on the food, it wasn't that good.

As with all tapas, some of the dishes do seem a little overpriced, but when you consider that you'll end up sharing everything it works out as pretty affordable - I paid £17 for two small glasses of wine, a starter and two mains. I'm surprised that others had issues with the service - our waiters were both really attentive and seemed knowledgeable about the dishes on offer, although the restaurant was pretty quiet. Overall, I'd definitely recommend checking Tapame out, although I'll likely be waiting a while due to the limited menu.

Came by on our first night in Edinburgh with my boyfriend because of some decent yelp reviews and we weren't disappointed. The host/server (manager? owner?) took the time to explain ALL of the dishes to us, including all of the specials. [sidenote, being from CA, and hearing Catalonian Spanish with a Scottish accent was such a trip.] He presented and explained all of the dishes table side like you expect in a fine dining restaurant, and brought some olives and bread on the house. We had the four specials, papas bravatos (I think) were my boyfriend's favorite, and the Sancho and Calamari were menu staples that were lovely. Everything we had was cooked perfectly to us, and all of the meats so tender. We washed it all down with a liter of sangria, which had cinnamon as a new twist for us. Great service, great food, no regrets!!!

The tabla quijote platter of meat and cheese allowed us to taste every variety on offer. Some were nicer than others (I'm not a fan of blue cheese!) but it was a great sharing plate for anyone who loves cured meat and chorizo. I also ordered a tapas sized of small peppers with white asparagus and topped with an Andalusian sauce. Phallic looking as they were (haha!) I rather liked them. The dish was chilled, asparagus was soft (not crunchy how I normally like asparagus) but tasty nevertheless. The sauce was nice too and I'd order them again. For my main I ordered the Pork Cheeks stew which was recommended by jenny. I went for the medium side but boy it was big! watch out on the sizes if you're having starter tapas too! The stew was basically a big bowl of soup like stew. Not what I was expecting but extremely tasty. I've never had pork cheeks before but the meat was slow cooked and fell away from the fork. Yum! The only thing was the lack of "chunky homemade chips" as described in the menu. There were bits of potato in the stew but chips? Nope. Would I go back? Definitely. The food was authentic and tasty and its really near my work so v handy! It's small but cute with terracotta pots and plants dotted around inside. Quite quaint. If it wasn't for the garlic in the food it would be an ideal date venue! :)

Lest the concept of 'small plates' puts in your mind a vision of a miniscule apertif consisting mostly of two bites, fear not - Indaba's tapas (say that ten times fast) are large enough that you can pass your plate around the table and still have enough mouthfuls to fully appreciate the beauty of the food. I ordered the gambas mixtas (garlic and chili prawns, enormous, juicy and butterflied beautifully) and courgette-wrapped feta, delicately flavored. I also snuck bites of the haggis (truly incredible, and in a Spanish restaurant of all places), the steak, pork ribs and baked goats cheese. They were all spot-on. Wonderfully enough, the food didn't come out all at once, but in well-paced succession so that you never had to fear - the next tasty bite was just around the corner and nothing had time to get cold. Evidently Cafe Andaluz is very popular even in the afternoon! I took this as a good sign that the food must be good then. Unfortunately more disappointing than I thought. We ordered the patatas bravas, calamari, gambas pil pil (king prawns roasted in olive oil, chilli, paprika and garlic) and pollo y panceta (skewers of chicken, pancetta and red onion marinated in chimichurri, with rocket, pine nuts and chimichurri salsa). I've had patatas bravas many times in Spain so was excited to see this on the menu. Cafe Andaluz's interpretation of patatas bravas is not as authentic. The potatoes were mushier rather than firm. The calamari was lukewarm and tasteless - like I was eating semi fried rubber. The real head scratcher was the pil pil. It looked appealing and promising but the whole dish was tasteless. The shrimp sat in red oil that was tasteless. There was zero garlic flavor. We were perplexed at how something colorful and vibrant would have no taste?! The only thing that truly redeemed this meal was the pollo y panceta. The garnishes and chimichurri helped enhance the dish. So all in all, an overpriced and mostly flavorless tapas late lunch that did **not** meet expectations.
