After the diag, she needed a new serpentine belt and some other things. I get it; shops gotta charge for shop fees and labor, totally understand that. Here's the fraud. They charged her $82 for the Serpentine belt. (Typical Serpentine Belt prices are $20 or less, even for a premium belt). This belt is available at $10 on RockAuto.com and $15 at Autozone and Walmart. Even the most premium belt I could find from a large parts store was less than half the price they chard us. I called them and asked where they got the belt from- Advance. Advance sells the belt to consumers for $32- no auto repair shop in their right minds would pay the same prices charged to walk-ins, so I know they definitely paid less than $32 for it. But EVEN at $32, $82 for a serpentine belt is 156% markup on a part that Advance delivered to them at no additional cost Never going to The Lube Center, Auto Spa, or Frederick Auto Repair again. I can absolutely confirm that they are frauds.

I reached out to a few other stores near my area, but they all were expensive and some were suggesting cheaper Chinese branded glass. I am pretty sure those Chinese branded windshield are good for the intended purposes, but, since we are planning on keeping the SUV for a while, I wanted something more reputable. I reached out to Elite Auto Glass and asked them for the OEM AGC windshield. They recommended Pilkington instead stating that they are equally good as AGC, if not better, for a more reasonable price. I took their word for it, and they came by my place and made the replacement. I don't think the experience could have gone any smoother than this. Recently, I asked JT Motorsports to supply and mount two motorcycle tires. I was surprised to find that the price of these tires was 35% higher than what I paid for the same brand and size two years ago. I attributed this increase to the rising cost of living in Maryland, as my last set was purchased during Sturgis Bike Week at J&P Cycles on a Sunday (Mid-Rally). However, when I received the (1st) invoice, I was stunned to find a charge of $360. I couldn't believe it and thought there must have been an error. Even the staff member seemed surprised. He double-checked the invoice and printed a revised bill of $288. Although this was a reduction, I was still taken aback by the amount, especially since I was expecting to pay closer to my last experience ($200). I reached out to several well-known motorcycle groups to gauge what others would expect to pay for such a service. Most members estimated the cost at around $40 to $80 per tire. In short, I was disappointed with the invoices received and paid. Unless there is an adjustment to their pricing structure, I will not be returning to JT Motorsports for future purchases. It's disappointing because I had hoped to have a nearby reliable establishment for my motorcycle needs.
