I am moving and wanted to remove all the knob and tube in my home before repainting the interior. She scheduled my job in a timely fashion and went out of her way to put together a great Knob and Tube team for me. Egan, Paul, Joe & Sal started work promptly every morning at 8 am. Egan made great suggestions and explained carefully his answers to any questions.They were meticulous, courteous, professional, friendly, and knowledgeable about every aspect of the job. They covered the area neatly with drop cloths, etc. before they worked, and cleaned up, including vacuuming and even mopping at one point, to make sure they left the area clean and neat when they were done. Everything works beautifully, our lighting and electrical are safe and up to all the best standards, and now I feel great about selling our house with all new, safe, efficient lighting to a new family. Knob and Tube removal and rewiring with new circuits is an expensive job no matter who does it--I felt that KB charged very fair prices, completely in line with industry norms for the massive amount of work they did. I had already contracted with our painting crew to seal up and replaster the notches and holes made in the course of the work, so I didn't need KB to handle that part of the job. If KB does do the plastering, it would have been an additional charge. I have no doubt that had I needed them to do the plastering, they would have done a beautiful job. It is a pleasure to recommend KB Electric for any electrical job you may have. They have added tremendous value to my house and the whole experience was a pleasure. I was a little disappointed in the service I received. Technically, DIDN'T receive. I went with KB Electric because for an emergency visit, they came out promptly and solved the problem quickly. I was happy with the service so wanted to request their services again for a bigger project. I scheduled an appointment for a Saturday morning and they were a no show. I called the office and left a message but the office was closed. It wasn't until the end of the day that the technician called me to apologize saying that he was held up with another job. He asked that I call the office that Monday to reschedule. Which I did. The office apologized and rescheduled me for the next Saturday. When the time came, they were a no show AGAIN. I called the office and this time, I spoke with someone in the office (Jasmine) and she apologized for the confusion. At that point, I didn't want to bother hiring them for my services so I opted not to be rescheduled again. I also never received a call from the technician or the owner to apologize for the 2 No Shows. The Monday after the 2nd no show, I received a "rescheduling" call from someone named Joel asking to reschedule for another visit. No apology or any acknowledgement of the mix up and he left a message as if this was just a routine rescheduling call. Not even 2 weeks after the 2nd incident, I received ANOTHER "rescheduling" call from Joel asking to contact the office to reschedule. I thought that was in poor taste. They should have taken me off the list of return calls. Again, never received a call from the owner or anyone in charge of the business to apologize for the mix up. That only shows the lack of communication between the office and the field technicians as well as the scheduling office. Others may have had a better experience but we didn't. read more

They were instrumental in enabling our grand son to come from the hospital when he was ready, when other contractors could not. Our son and daughter-in-law's premature baby had been in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for seven months when they were told that the baby could come home in eight to ten weeks if the house was properly electrically equipped to support a ventilator and related equipment. This would involve upgrading the electrical board, adding a 20-amp line to the baby's room, and adding a generator that would automatically provide electricity if the power went off. We took on the task of managing this project as our son and daughter-in-law had temporarily relocated to Philadelphia to be near the NICU. We are located almost two hours away. We reached out to many generator contractors and were told that the project would take six to ten months and that they would not shorten that time frame to accommodate our important situation. Then we met with the project manager at KB Electric who committed to finish the job within a ten-week time frame! His team of Henry, Joe and Alicia got the permits, completed the extensive electrical work and generator installation and had the gas company and town inspections within the promised ten-week time frame! We moved to the area the end of the summer and have used KB exclusively. They came highly recommended from our broker and they have not disappointed. Their work is very high quality and they are extremely dependable. They've come for a few small jobs (including knob and tube inspection and fixture installation) and finished all on time and done really well. But the main work was extensive electrical work before we moved in--installing overhead lights, outlets, grounding outlets and a punch list of items from our inspection. I had no idea how much I wanted done until I walked through with them. I can't stress enough how great a job they did. Ramiero led a team through almost a week of work. He's thorough, meticulous, courteous, responsive and just all around trustworthy and great. Because we weren't moved in at the time, we had to defer a lot of aesthetic calls to him--everything was on point. He listened carefully when we did an initial walkthrough of the work, and used that input from me to guide his work. Everything was perfect. He also had to coordinate substantially with our painters, and he made what could have been a nightmare totally painless and easy. I also had Larry out for another job and he was dependable and professional. I don't have a frame of reference for cost, but I couldn't be more satisfied with their work. KB Electric did a great job on our home electricals! The main crew who did the work for us, Joe P., Ricky, Joe, and Victor, were very professional and went out of their way to be very helpful and responsive throughout the entire process. The whole experience from initial inspection through project completion was excellent. We had to have knob and tube remediation done, an electrical panel upgrade, generator outlet and interlock kit installations, and we also got some other lights, switches and receptacles updated/installed while the KB crew was here. This was very convenient because while they were here getting rid of the old knob and tube wiring, were able to ask them about other electrical things we needed to repair and replace, and they were very helpful about coming up with solutions for best ways to go about correcting/approaching things. Also, when we had questions about any logistical or billing matters, KB always provided great office support from Alicia, with phone calls immediately answered or returned very quickly. This project took several weeks to complete because of the scale of the work involved and we are very impressed with how well this business and team were able to provide such consistent top quality service. Rich, who did the estimate, was very thorough. He investigated my microwave outlet and ceiling light fixture with precision regarding safety as both areas were recently soaked with water. He changed the outlet and checked the microwave and advised it was unsafe to use. The light fixture was OK. Ramiro, the electrician, is a first-rate professional who did his work with high standards. He initially acknowledged me, the customer, by introducing himself. He listened attentively to my questions related to my electrical needs and answered each one clearly. He made efficient use of his time by having all the tools that he needed organized and within easy reach. He was conscientious about protecting nearby furniture and the floor beneath the work area. He placed a covering over both of them. He worked safely and took measures to minimize the danger of injury. We've been using KB Electric for many years and have always had great experiences. We've used many electricians in the area and have always come back to KB. We recently had a short circuit in a new line installed by another electrician and i was concerned that it would take a long time to get it fixed. Ramiro arrived the next morning exactly as scheduled. He was extremely friendly, professional, thorough, and efficient. He made sure he tested every light and outlet on the circuit. He tackled the most likely causes first and within 30 minutes had determined the problem. He took the time to show me the receptacle where the short occurred and the most likely cause and explained how he would correct it so it didn't happen again. When he was finished with the very minor repair needed I saw him take the time to wipe the small amount of dust that had fallen on the baseboard. He was all finished in less than an hour! read more

He was very respectful of my home and patient when things needed to be moved around so that he could gain access to different things. They worked at our house for 1 month removing our antiquated knob and tube and rewiring the entire house to current standards. The crew was always on time, polite young men, professional, and focused on the task at hand. They cleaned up at the end of every day to make sure our family was safe from debris, dust, and equipment.
