After checking the cost of the part at the dealership, I got an estimate from Allan. His price for mirror AND labor was considerably less than the "part only" dealership cost. The mirror was off-brand (Allan asked if that's what I wanted), but it looks the same and works just fine. Again, the work was done on time. I see that Allan's specializes in car sales. I don't need a car right now, but if I did, I would visit his lot. In the meantime, If I need body work--God forbid--I'll call Allan.

In one instance, they charged me $1,200 to replace ONE headlight, and they didn't even fix it correctly- I had to bring it back in because the mechanic hadn't replaced the "igniter". The other headlight went out 2 months later, so I took it to a recommended moonlighter mechanic- he fixed the set-up without fuss for $200, and a year later it's still running strong. I really don't think Shamit and crew are intentionally trying to rip customers off, I just think there's a disconnect between the management and the repair side of the business. And, if you get caught up in that "disconnect", it will cost you thousands of dollars. Shamit has never fixed this issue, so beware to the car owner looking to get a repair. Needless to say, my next used car will probably be purchased at VIPRE, but my repairs will be going elsewhere. Three stars: good cars, bad repair service.
