    Oat and hemp seed waffle
    Cynthia B.

It is definitely IMPRESSIVE and delicious. It my was first time to this cafe. The seamless nature in how flavor balances with esthetics surely does impress. The waffle has a fluffy inside and crunchy outside and seed filled. A bit of crunch, a bit of flavor. But the sorbet and maple syrup brings the sweetness and makes it perfect! It is very filling so if youre hungry(like i was ), it will satisfy hunger . I am kicking myself in playing it safe with a pumpkin spice and not getting the beetroot latte. But the pumpkin spice was yummy so it drowns the regret. I cant wait to try more items on their menu. The girls was welcoming, decor is very chic and clean looking. Plenty of parking.

I've been hearing so many positive reviews about this fast-casual plant-based cafe, that I knew I had to try it for myself! Came by at 1:30 PM on a Saturday afternoon, and it was absolutely buzzing. Definitely a great first sign! I decided to order the Coconut BLT Sandwich, their most popular item, and I was highly impressed! I'm not a vegan, so I thought that I would really miss the bacon. However, the mayo and hemp seed pesto added a nice savoriness to the sandwich, and the smoked coconut bacon, a nice textual element. No bacon required! For the size of the sandwich, they really packed it with spinach, but the flavours were so well balanced, I didn't mind at all. I also ordered the Berry-Oxidant protein smoothie. I could tell it was packed with protein powder. It tasted fine, but a little too sweet for my liking. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised! Will definitely come back to try some of the other options on their menu.

    Coconut Oata with Coconut Milk

I've been to the downtown location a number of time, but today was my first time in the Windermere location. While the menu is the same and the decor and layout is fairly similar, this location feels a bit more roomy and is the perfect environment to meet up and catch up with a friend, which is exactly what I did this morning. I started off my morning with the coconut oats! I had been looking forward to trying this because they only offer this menu item until 11am and at work, I generally take my lunch at 12! So a breakfast date was perfect timing! The coconut oats is served warm and comes topped with fresh banana and strawberry that's been sliced as well as raisins & coconut flakes. You get your choice of milk; I opted for the coconut milk while my friend chose to have a almond milk! It was a little chilly this morning so warm oats were perfect! The portion is a nice size and quite filling, and great way to start the day! I also ordered a hot chocolate! This was my first time ordering a beverage... because normally by lunch time, I'm already pretty hopped up on caffeine! The hot cocoa here is made from cocoa powder, I imagine as it can be a bit bitter if you are used to the sugary sweet hot chocolates from other eateries! I found it slightly salty to my liking, so perhaps next time I'll stick to a regular coffee or latte instead. One thing I also love about KB& Co is that they use all paper products that can be recycled! This location is a lot quieter, however, then again, I would expect Saturday mornings to be a little less hectic than a weekday lunch rush downtown. There's also plenty of free parking at this location, so its a great place to catch up with a friend over a healthy meal without having to worry about watching the close and paying parking!

This is probably one of my favourite places to stop by in Edmonton. The atmosphere is very chill and relaxed, the staff are friendly, and the food is to die for. My favourite items to get are definitely the Coconut BLT sandwich, and the açai bowl. The coconut blt has this slight sweetness because of the date jam while the coconut bacon adds a smokiness that gives the sandwich almost like a meat flavour. I love getting the citrus kale salad as a side. The dressing is something that I still can't figure out. It's not heavy like a Caesar but it's enough to keep you satisfied. The açai bowl is an excellent pick-me-up after a workout. The portion is pretty big and I love the vanilla macaroon granola that comes with it; turns out you can buy the granola by itself for $8! One complaint that I have would be the prices. It is quite steep and you definitely can get away with making some of the dishes at home instead. However, I think it's worth it as a treat every once in a while. The food is healthy, wholesome, and light so you can enjoy everything guilt-free!

Coconut BLT with side of greens and a brownie protein ball

Another day, another delicious lunch! I can always count on KB & Co for a great healthy lunch. This time I was in windermere so stopped in for a coconut BLT sandwich and side of greens. Also tried their brownie fudge protein ball and it was quite delicious!!

With all the glowing reviews on Yelp I had to give this café a try. It was almost full when we arrived at around 10:30 and it was loud. In fact it was so loud that we had a hard time carrying on a conversation. The young lady at the order counter was very nice and started off by explaining what they are all about. Basically they make everything on site and carry no meat or dairy. I ordered the Oak & Hemp Seed Berry Waffles ($13.00) and they were delicious! Sweet, but not too sweet. Everything had bold flavours including the fruit. The almond whip cream was especially good. I highly recommend this dish. My guest had the Marinated Mushroom Avocado Toast ($8.50). It looked really good and was much larger than the price would suggest. She said she really enjoyed it. I might try it next time. We both ordered drip coffee. It was good but not unusually so. No refills are included but the paper cups were a good size. I know that I'll come back here for the food but I can't give them five stars because of the noise; it really was loud making it hard to visit. When we were nearly finished one very chatty group left and that helped a little but it was still difficult to hear each other. If you can pass on the meat and dairy and don't mind the noise, I highly recommend this Café. The food is superb. I came back on a Sunday and it wasn't nearly as noisy. Maybe there were just loud people last time.

Chipotle Taco Wrap and the Coconut BLT sandwhich

FINALLY got to try this place out! I've been on the hunt for a good healthy spot to eat out and I'm beyond pleased! It is a bit out a ways for a west-ender but nevertheless if I'm really craving some tasty healthy treats then this is a place I will stop by. The restaurant is very clean and modern looking. Lots of table space and for the time and day we went it was surprisingly not too crowded! There's lots of parking available as it's part of a row of stores. The first downside I must mention is price : it is a bit much if you're right on change and realistically is a bit out of budget for me to become a frequent goer but the quality of food certainly justifies it. I ordered the Chipotle Taco Wrap with a side of greens, and the boyfriend ordered the Coconut BLT with chips. We split the ordered halfzees because that's a must if you go anywhere for the first time (just me?) And I confidently say that both absolutely surprised me! They exceeded my expectations! I particularly enjoyed the Chipotle Taco Wrap as it had a lot going on the flavors were just fantastic. BUT both were great! We also tried the gingersnap and chocolate chip cookies (both vegan as well) and although the boyfriend was not a fan, I quite enjoyed both. They were soft and hit my sweetooth craving! Overall I'd highly recommend but be cautious of the price!

It is a lovely atmosphere to catch up with friends. Our server was polite and well mannered. They have a great lunch deal as well. I went with the Spicy Eggplant with coconut rice - Chinese eggplant quartered and stir-fried in a sweet and savory chili sauce. My friend chose this as well. We also started with the Roti Canai -Grilled Indonesian flatbread served with a curry dipping sauce. This is my favourite dish on the menu. I usually order this. Both dishes were excellent and fresh. I love the flakey roti and the dipping sauce has the right amount of curry in it. The eggplant was tasty as well and perfectly cooked. It came with rice (we chose coconut rice for an extra dollar) and a spring roll. The spring roll was crunchy and filled with veggies. All together a great meal.

We got a bunch of entrees, I honestly can't remember every single thing we got but it all tasted delicious. Everything I tasted was a hit. I loved the crisp and texture of the Chicken Strips, as well as the Lemon Chicken Prawns. The Curry Chicken was flavorful, creamy, and had a little kick from the spice but it was great. The Dendeng was great too, loved the sauce that covered it. I'm also really impressed by the different veggie meats they used in all of the dishes, they all tasted good. Service was fast and all the servers were so thoughtful and accommodating. We also met the owner and he was so kind. We had a good time at the end getting to know each other. From our time here, we were met with very down to earth people here. I'll have to come back and try their buffet next time. Thank you for taking care of us! We loved it, consider us lifetime fans!

The toppings were fresh but maybe because we ordered delivery it just didn't have the as much pizazz as I expected. It was still a tasty pizza. For the kids we ordered the cheese pizza. The combination of orange and white cheese was nice, and it was very saucy. The slices were too big for my littles who had to fold the pizza to eat it. And once it got to us that chewy textured dough has just too difficult for them to chew. The beingets were delightful, same chewy texture. Liked the icing and Carmel to dip. I think this pizza place would have been more enjoyable eating at the location and getting the pizza hot and fresh.

Did you know that Edmonton has a vegan pizzeria? Did you also know that it's Alberta's first…read moreplant-based pizzeria that has been blazing trails since 2017? They've been on quite a turbulent journey to say the least. Die Pie first opened their doors downtown on Jasper Ave in 2017. Then the pandemic hit and threw everything into question and they ended up moving to 97th in the Boyle Street area in 2020. Then, sadly, later in 2020 they announced that Die Pie would be closing it's doors for good. It seemed that everything had come to an unfortunate and heart breaking end. But there was some hope when the pizzas became available at their sister business Seitans in the 5th Street Food Hall in 2021. ...And then in 2023, rising from the ashes, Die Pie opened once again, this time on 105th Street in Queen Mary Park. Nothing short of a roller coaster, I'm not sure how they've done it. However, their legion of devoted fans certainly wants their plant-based pizza revolution to continue. VUE Weekly named Die Pie # 1 Pizza (Classic) 2018 and # 1 Best Pizza (Thin Crust) 2018. Yes, the pizza is meatless but this is a place that can compete with all of the rest. You need to try it for yourself to believe it! I was so pleased to visit for the first time on a Saturday evening and I would totally describe the restaurant and location as "industrial-chic." They've got plenty of space with a fun tropical vibe from the pink-sided bar area to the pink-and-green frond print on the chairs. The best decor item of all, without a question, is the huge original Jasper Ave restaurant sign that now hangs inside. What a testament to their resiliency. There's a little stage area that must be great for live music and other such performances. Speaking of music, the tunes at Die Pie are absolute perfection and I found myself dancing and singing in my seat for the majority of my visit - we must have very similar taste in music. Our server was helpful and friendly, happy to give us the time that we needed to make our way through the extensive menu. There's quite a lot more than just pizza! I'm not much of a pop-drinker but I do enjoy a soda with pizza from time to time. I really like that Die Pie doesn't serve the mainstream brands and instead opts for Jarritos (which I love), Wild Brewing Kombucha, and Phillips Soda Works from Victoria. We chose a Speed King Craft Cola ($5.00) and an Intergalactic Root Beer ($5.00), both from Phillips. The art on the can alone is worth it. I really like a craft cola made with cane sugar a lot. You've probably heard people talk about Mexican cola and how it's a far superior product - and the cane sugar is why. Using cane sugar makes the flavour so much better. Speed King is made with actual kola nut as well as cane sugar, has a rich flavour, and somehow isn't too sweet. The Intergalactic was interesting because it actually tasted like real root beer. The amber colour is not typically expected and the flavour of licorice root, cloves, and cane sugar creates a beverage that tastes much more authentic. They both paired wonderfully with the pizza. The food menu involves a lot! You'll find a whole host of starters, fried chickun (which I believe is Seitans main thing, now available at Die Pie), pasta, and burgers. And of course there is pizza. A lot of pizza. I was excited to start my meal with some Bites (there are four types) which I remember very well from my 5th Street Food Hall visits. This time I chose the Kimchi Bites (Sourdough bites stuffed with chedda, extra virgin olive oil, sunflower parmesan, and housemade kimchi - $16.00) because they sound so unique. However, the chedda, donair, and pickle versions are excellent options as well. These little tender and twirly dough balls are served with two dips of your choice and they've got twelve to select from! Gochujang Dip seemed like an obvious pick and we also got Garlic Aioli Dip for a more cooling option. If you love Die Pie's soft and fluffy pizza dough (and you do) this is just another way to get more of it. Pungent, acidic kimchi is wrapped within the dough like a soft blanket. These bites had some spicy kick! Dip them in the gochujang for an even bigger punch! These are fun and easy to eat. However, if you're also ordering pizza it does mean that your meal will contain a lot of dough (which is not necessarily a bad thing). The main event is absolutely the California style pizza and with 18 different pies you certainly won't be wanting for choice. Each one is made from scratch using their signature hand-tossed sourdough crust which they make with local flour. And let me tell you: IT'S THE CRUST. I'm the type of person who doesn't always eat my crust - in most cases I have no desire to eat additional plain, tough bread. But once in a while there's the odd case when the dough itself is something special. Die Pie makes a dough so pillowy that you will find it in your dreams. But that's not all. On Thursdays they do Detroit style pizza, they can make gluten-
