Gluten-free granola is a highlight. This is the first totally safe açai bowl I've had in Canada. They use a coconut rather than oat base, so for all my oat-avoidant celiacs out there, this is a pleasant surprise. It's definitely worth considering taking home a bag of this granola. The predominant milk they use in their lattes is oat (gluten free), but alternatives are available. I've tried a couple of the mushroom lattes, and the Chana Charger is my favourite. The lunch bowls are predominantly gluten free or can easily be adjusted to be so. The produce is always fresh, which allows natural flavours of the ingredients to really come through and make their dishes stand out. The location on 104 St is very accessible from downtown, but if you drive, expect to pay a couple bucks for street parking. With an order at the till and sit anywhere system, it is an accessible place to go on your own and/or get some work done. There is also plenty of space to go with a group or meet for coffee. It was a bit pricey, $22 for my açai bowl and latte, but you definitely get what you pay for. And that's what keeps me coming back! read more

This is my favourite plant based quick food place! Every time I'm downtown I stop in here for a smoothie and a bite to eat. Staff are all super friendly and give great recommendations. My favorites are the avocado toast with cashew cream cheese, the coconut BLT sandwich with greens, and the mint chocolate protein smoothie! Right now on Wednesday's they are having 2 for 1 drinks! Happy to see Kb & Co is open and running full force. I decided to try the tumeric toona sandwich. At $14 it is on the pricier side but the quality is quite good. Vegetables are fresh and it comes with a side salad. The only tiny thing is the toona idea. While I completely understand simulation is quite difficult this sandwich had no similarities to Tuna. I think it should move away from simulation and make it there own. Either way, delicious! read more

I'm always down to support plant-based businesses because I love going to places and being able to literally eat anything off the menu. I came here after OTF for a little pick me up for the first time last week. I got the PB protein smoothie and it was delicious. My partner got the cookies and cream one which was a bit too sweet for me but he seemed to like it so that's all good! What we really liked was the vegan cheesecake coconut cookie, I mean damn what a delight. I would eat like 10 of them but they are quite dense so I decided to control myself. Decor is cute. I badly wanted a picture with the "Eat Plants" sign but there were too ladies underneath so I thought it might be in poor taste to ask them to move for my picture lol. The service I got was great, when we explained that this was our first time there the staff was nice enough to explain everything on the menu and give us a bit of a low down on the business as a whole. This spot really impressed me! After a self-inflicted torturous workout I was starved and didn't want to spoil the workout. My sis suggested KB & Co. and it was exactly what I was looking for. So many options on this vegan menu. I couldn't decide between breakfast or lunch as their açai bowl and their coconut oats sounded amazing but the smokey kale Caesar salad and the creamy corn chowder option won out! They did not disappoint! The Caesar salad was delicious topped with coconut bacon and almond nut parmesan and the lemony garlic dressing was very tasty. The corn chowder was equally delicious and the lentils added made it even heartier. My sis had chipotle taco wrap which was served with a side of kale. This is her favourite item on the menu. KB & Co has been on my list of places by my office to try, and finally, the stars aligned and I managed to stop in twice within a span of a week! All of the items on their menu are ultra fresh, healthy, and plant based. Glad to see more plant based eateries poping up around the downtown core. I love that their breakfast options are available all day because sometimes you just want breakfast for lunch...or at least I often do :) My first visit I ordered the Balsamic Berry Avocado Toast and the second, the Thai Lentil Stew. Both items were totally different, but satisfied my cravings of the day! I loved that toast was topped with a generous amount of strawberries and avocados. The balsamic vinegar was a little bit heavier than i would have liked but kind of was balanced out with the avocado and starberries. The Thai Lentil Stew was my favorite and I would definitely go back for this! It was served hot and has a little bit of a kick to it, but nothing overly spicy. It was perfectly seasoned. The stew is topped with some citrus greens and quinoa. The greens were super fresh and definitely not wilty at all. This stew was filling and highly recommend it! I ended up having to take half of this home with me! This would be perfect on a cooler day, but still enjoyable on a warm day, which is what I did. The have lots of seating inside as well as a couple tables on the patio! I was kind of surprised how busy this place gets. Despite, that though, you never really have to wait for your order for very long! A good chunk of the people that stop in take their food to go, so usually, finding a spot to enjoy your food isn't a problem! The font size on the menu boards inside are a bit tiny, but don't do the squinting thing like me and my co-worker did, they also have printed menus for you to peruse while waiting in line. Be careful here if you have a food allergy. They don't list nuts on the menu. I ordered the succatach with tzatziki...which usually never has nuts in it and got violently sick. I was with my son who complained that it should have been labeled as an ingredient. The manager never really said sorry and brought me another on without the tzatziki...by this time I'm having a full blown allergic reaction. Really didn't feel like eating. I still had to pay for it. I'm really torn about my rating. I've followed KB & Co on social media since their inception a few years ago and it seems like the most fab, fun place to frequent or work. I'm not often in the area and hadn't got a chance to check it out until now. Downtown with some time to kill and needing a quick healthy bite, KB & Co - here I come. Pros: - Love that they are a vegan + plant based + locally owned! - The Coconut Bacon BLT tasted good and the ingredients were fresh. - Decorating and music is hip and fun. - Found parking right out front. Cons: - The younger gentleman behind the counter seemed completely apathetic about serving me when I was the only customer at the counter. - The menu board is small and hard to read. - Service that doesn't match the premium prices. Maybe I just caught the staff on an off day. I know that are planning on a quick franchising expansion and wish them luck. Popped in here for a quick breakfast as I was visiting City Market Downtown. Ordered their açai bowl and grabbed a spot by the window to sit. The wait took longer than what I expected for a place that claims itself as "fast casual" but when I was finally called to the counter to collect my food, it was evident that the bowl was prepared with a careful and artful hand. It was so beautiful!! Topped with banana, strawberries, and cacao nibs that added an extra crunch, this bowl was definitely worth the $9 price tag and wait. My only concern is that, although I ordered my meal to stay, it came in a compostable bowl to be thrown out after I was done. For a place that is plant based and health forward they certainly don't seem to care for the environment. I will definitely be back to try their other products. read more

Well that was delicious. Ran here in the middle of the day because class got cancelled. Decided to try KB & Co today after seeing them recommended on a vegan group on Facebook. I had the Coconut BLT with a side of "greens". Service was super friendly (is there any vegan cafe that isn't?). I really enjoyed my sandwich, more than I expected. It was really rich in flavour. Honestly didn't expect it to be that delicious. The salad was a little too acidic for my liking, but I'm sure I could ask for a little less dressing next time. Although the prices were kinda high, I wasn't at all disappointed in the quality of my food. Quality food + supporting a small business with a good cause = a well made purchase for me. It's no joke when they say everything here is extremely good for you! Happy to have stumbled into Kb & Co just steps away from the City Market Downtown. With being lactose intolerant, I was extremely excited to see I could have so much of the menu! I've had the balsamic berry avocado toast. They really load it up! And, the flax sourdough is so fresh too! If you're wanting to go the spicy route, try the marinated mushroom avocado toast. It's got a bit of a kick, but nothing too crazy. All the mushrooms on it make ti a bit more hearty. Looking for a nice refreshing smoothie? Try the pink ginger lemonade. I had a bit of a cold and it was a perfect addition to quench my thirst too! Today is my sister's birthday, so it's the day to go vegan. First impressions? To be honest, I hate the decor. It's pretty minimal, both in color and artwork. The walls are white and wood paneling. The booths are charcoal grey, and there's a few dull gold accents. For me it's a cross between stark and bleah, but I'm sure someone will tell me it's tasteful and contemporary. I halfway suspect it's so you'll decide to take your food to go. BUT, atmosphere isn't nearly as important as flavor, and do these flavors ever pop!! I had the vanilla bean latte, (robust) and the Sloppy Joe. The Sloppy Joe was actually a tidy and delightful sandwich with beans, tomato and avocado. The thing that struck me was how delicious the bread was. I could taste the multiple grains and it was so soft and fresh. Nice decent portion too with a few tortilla chips. My sister had the falafel, and I can see why she enjoyed it. Again, very fresh, with singing flavors. She also had a mango mojito smoothie. THAT was interesting! Not my thing, but I swear it tastes like summer. Like sunning in your backyard next to the freshly mowed lawn, drinking something cold and fruity. Dessert was a chocolate chip cookie for me, and an Eat More square for my sister. The cookie was okay, but I'm thinking I should have had the square. THAT was moist and yummy. Would I come back? What a great new addition to 104th St! I love having more healthy and delicious options to choose and this place delivers on both. In the last 2 years, I have been incorporating more vegan/vegetarian dishes in my diet. Trying to educate myself was a little daunting so I took an 8 week program with a wholistic nutritionist. I feel like this place encompasses much of that program with healthy, delicious, satiating food that makes you feel great! No guilt in overindulging here. The chilli bowl is so yummy. It is loaded with tons of good stuff like quinoa, beans, tomatoes, avocado, pepper and onion. The sweet chili chipotle cashew cream that tops it, is so flavourful and really compliments the spice. I recently had the Quinoa Tabbouleh salad. It was also very tasty loaded with kale, parsley, mixed greens, peppers, cucumber and quinoa. The lentil hummus, olives and tahini-lemon dressing make this salad divine and unique from the others. The combination of saltiness, creaminess and citrus makes you want more! Unfortunately, even after finishing the salad ,you will want more - not only because it is so good, but because the portion really isn't that big. The portions being on the smaller side would be my only complaint; however, prices are decent considering everything you are eating is organic and made in house. If you go down the street to Earth's General Store, you will see that it isn't cheap to eat consciously. The space is bright, clean, and very modern. I kind of feel like I am going to the spa to have my meal. It is a great break from the busy office. I look forward to indulging in many more items on the menu and not have an ounce of guilt in doing so. read more

KB & Co was a bit of a mixed kettle for me. I was disappointed with my waffles... the taste was just fine but they were very thin and very small. They were not at all as I expected. I went with an old friend (who is not vegan) and he had the chilli. I tasted his chilli and it was indeed good and he thought so too, even though he is a hardcore carnivore. I would certainly order it over the waffles next time. I also picked up a ginger cookie which had the right consistency and the perfect taste. The restaurant itself is alright but they seem to cater primarily to the take-out crowd. All utensils and containers are disposable so even though we ate in, it made little difference on the waste we produced. That was disappointing as I am not a big fan of a disposable society. I like real dishes and real utensils. Though the chilli was good, I would not go out of my way to visit this place again. However, if I was in the neighbourhood, I would drop by. read more

Probably one of the healthiest places I've been to in Edmonton. I ordered the marinated mushrooms with avocado toast, and I will say it tasted a bit odd at first , but you slowly start to like it. My friends ordered the açai bowl and Thai salad, both tasted great. Service was amazing , atmosphere was amazing , and the pricing was decent , depending on what you ordered. My first impression was "sticker shock", then I started to crave the delicious food they create, with my faves being the Coconut BLT and the Cookies and Cream smoothie. Oh, and let's not forget... their espresso Nanaimo bar. Oh my gawd. If th KB&Co is ever broken into, and the only thing missing is the recipe for the nanaimo bar, well it was probably me. I was very excited to go to kB & Co I've followed them on Instagram for over a year and haven't had the chance to go. I went today and I must say the environment of the store is very cute but the prices of there drinks are crazy 9$ for a small smoothies. The food is cheaper thank the drink regardless I decided to treat myself to a smoothie I decided to get there limited blue drink and it tastes like crap. Saw the lady made it and they put two entire lime wedges, peel and all into the smoothie makes you want to puke as when you drink as you get small pieces of the peel and the taste of lime overpowers everything else and I had to pay 13$!!! I wouldn't suggest going here at all even to treat yourself. The newly opened vegan eatery on 104th presents a number of healthy and delicious breakfast and lunch options, ranging from waffles to smoothies to soup and salad. They also have excellent vegan baked goods featuring an "ice cream" sandwich that might just be the crown jewel of the entire place. I absolutely adore their chili which is flavorful, filling and will be even more of a treat when it starts to get chilly out. I've also tried a few of their salads which are all deceptively filling and incredibly yummy. Usually I have a slight aversion to spending very much on a salad but these ones are definitely worth slightly above average prices. The same can be said for their smoothies which are indeed pricey but are jam-packed with nutrition. Overall, the new vegan eatery is a welcome addition to the downtown breakfast and lunch scene with great healthy options but just be prepared with a backup plan for seating if you're going with any more than a couple friends because the tables are small and fill up quickly. read more

We absolutely love this place. The owners have taken on a plant based approach keeping it simple with no highly process meat and cheese vegan alternatives. There is no soy in the food and everything is made from scratch. I recommend them to everyone because they are delicious, healthy whole foods. The staff and owners are very polite, nice and on many occasions have chatted with us to see what we think of the food. The place does have two long tables that can sit 4 people each and a long booth to sit and wait for take away. It's a great place to sit in or take out. It's located on the beautiful 104 Street so taking your meal to a bench in good weather is also ideal. I recommend you try the turmeric tea, coconut BLT and cookies! A cozy vegan cafe on 104 Street. I had a wrap here that was basically a salad densely packed into a flax tortilla, with beets, quinoa, greens, carrots, and a tahini sauce. The flavours were well-layered and I was quite full. Then, yesterday I had brunch here and ordered one of their two avocado toasts, with strawberries and a balsamic reduction. The avocado was layered very thick and was perfectly ripe. The strawberries were carefully placed on top - it was almost too pretty to eat! And at $7 I thought the price was reasonable. My smoothie was around $9, which is a high for a beverage, and was one of the protein choices with blueberry, acai, and coconut milk. I decided to go to KB & Co based on the recommendation of my coworkers. I ordered the twisted tabbouleh wrap and the chaga charger americano. What surprised me was that my favorite part of the meal was the dressing on the kale greens that came with my wrap. So glad I didn't opt for the chips. It was such a punch of flavor. I loved it. The americano was alright but not worth the $6.50. The wrap was delicious and I'd definitely be interested in trying more of their food items. I recently had a very disappointing customer service experience with kb+co. I stopped in for lunch and grabbed a few cookies to go. I brought the cookies home for dessert after dinner that night. Unfortunately, we couldn't enjoy them because they were raw. They tasted like raw flour and oil. Completely undercooked and awful. Normally I'd just throw them out and call it a loss, but for $3.50 per cookie I decided to follow up with them. I sent them an e-mail through their website and within a few days heard from the owner, Kristina. Kristina proceeded to thank me for the feedback, and tell me that she checked the cookies and "they all seemed fine" (so now she's arguing with me that they weren't raw). She apologized and told me "hopefully you'll give them another try". I replied to tell her I was a bit disappointed in her response and I never heard back. For the high price tag I was hoping for the best vegan cookies I'd ever had. Instead, they were inedible, and Kristina couldn't even offer to replace them. If you serve a sub-par product (whether or not you agree with the assessment), you should be willing to make the situation right. It's just a matter of principle. She should know that it doesn't cost her anything to replace the cookies, and that she's losing more money by losing customers. I really like the other food I've tried there but unfortunately, I won't be going back. read more

I am so happy to have a vegan place in the core of downtown. I appreciate this place for that alone. The prices are kinda high; but it is all fresh, made to order... I am willing to pay for the quality! One complaint: the music they play is so LOUD! I have been coming here since they opened. Every time I have attempted to sit down and eat it is just so loud I need to leave (so it's not just a one time thing). So, for take out it is fine, but to even attempt to sit, or talk, is kinda out of the question. It feels more like a night club than a restaurant. I was here today with a friend, and we were going to sit- but we got up to leave after 2 minutes because of the music. Take out is great- but it would be nice to be able to sit there. Trying to find another place to eat and hear each other (or ourselves think) when they have a space there is kinda annoying. read more

I'm conflicted because I love the food here and wish I could give a higher rating. If i was just to rate the food, it would be five stars. I love the menu is entirely plant based, and the portions are quite large and filling. I've tried most things on the menu and have not yet found anything i didn't really like. It's all been delicious. My minor complaints would be it really bothers me everything comes in a take-out container and you have to use plastic cutlery and paper cups regardless if you're eating in. I find it very wasteful and hope restaurants start taking more of an initiative to reduce these single use items, especially if the customer is not taking them out of the cafe. I also just wish the service here was friendlier. The price point is definitely on the higher side, and while i don't mind paying more for healthy food that i enjoy, i also expect the service to match. I hate to say it, but places like Starbucks make me feel more welcomed than i have felt coming here. Still worth going just for the food though. read more

My friend found this place through facebook and insisted we check it out. I am not a vegan or even a vegetarian, but the menu looked interesting so we decided to give it a try. This place is amazing! It's plant based-aka vegan, soy and dairy free. I got the Chipotle taco salad, mango mojhito smoothie and a raw Nanaimo bar. They were delicious but a little on the expensive side. I wasn't planning on spending $25 for lunch type items. My only complaint is that the smoothie definitely needs more mango. I would definitely reccommend this place! read more
