This place is such a hidden gem! The location is a bit hard to locate, because it's between the main road and a neighborhood. However, once you get onto that street, you will see a large "Kayla's Cake" sign with its own spacious parking lot. The outside is very cute with blue doors, white wall, plants, and seats. There is a menu visible outdoors for those who don't want to take time inside. The employees were all wearing masks and gloves. They only allow one party inside the store as once so no need to worry about it getting crowded. I ordered inside and an employee brought my order outside for me. Everyone was very kind and friendly! I always see the stand for Kayla's Cake whenever I'm at Downtown Disney. The macarons always look too pretty to eat. I am so glad I finally got to try their macaron, scone, latte today! Staff were very friendly and helpful. I asked the lady who was helping me for some of their popular items on the menu and opted for: 1. Unicorn Macaron 2. Rose Latte with Oatmilk sub 3. Vanilla Bean Scone The Unicorn Macaron was too adorable. I'm going to have to get these for my nieces next time. The filling is strawberry which was perfect to satisfy my craving for the day. I liked how it looked, how it tasted in flavor, the texture, and also the size. Definitely a 10/10 rating. The Rose Latte was also too pretty to drink/mix. It had three beautiful layers of colors: pink, brown, and cream. You can really taste the rose aroma and the coffee helped wake me up after a sleepless night. After that drink, I didn't need my nap anymore. A score of 9/10. The scone was also pretty decent. It wasn't dry, but I wish it was a bit warmer... The lady who helped me did warm it but maybe the microwave/toaster/whatever they used wasn't strong enough or they didn't heat it up long enough. Only the corners of the scone was warm. The heat didn't reach the middle of the scone at all. The scone did lack a little bit of flavor -- I couldn't really taste the vanilla bean, but did appreciate how it wasn't too sweet. 7.5/10 I wish this place had indoor seatings. I was hoping to get some work/studying in... but I guess it's set up as a bakery and not a coffee shop. I also really like the story and how Kayla's Cake came to be! However, it's in a very weird neighborhood for this type of place. They say the first three rules of real estate are location, location, location. This place misses out on all three of those rules. A great wedding dessert!! My husband and I ordered earl grey, lemon and affogato macarons for our guests and most were gone by the end of the night! We had guests reach out to us the next day asking where we got them from. Kayla's Cupcakes was so great to work with and really helpful when coordinating their pick-up services. One of the few things stores around Fullerton can ask for is their own private parking lot and Kayla's Cake got one. That can be important for many who don't want to waste time finding parking or pay for one. Upon entering, the whole front entrance and wall is complete glass. Inside is very spacious with a minimalist european design. Great to grab a cup of their natural organic tea and pastry while studying or getting some work done. I highly recommend trying their macaroons or egg tart. Their crepe brûlée macaroon was my favorite. I also tried their cookies and crème and their strawberry which were also great. Their egg tart crust tasted like a crossaint with all the layers and crispness texture to it. I've had this place bookmarked for the looongest time. Super super glad I came by because the macarons are aaaamazing (and that's coming from someone who bakes them preeeetty well). The macarons here are soft and chewy and not as overwhelmingly sweet as other places. They are on the small side ($2.50+) might hurt your wallet if you're ordering a lot ( I did and no regrets). Tried the chai latte and let me tell you, I drive all over Orange County and Inland Empire to try chai latte (fun little hobby I have). Kayla's own chai latte is delicious! Very hard to find (BTW it's behind a strip mall, before the homes). The signage for Kayla Cake is practically invisible and facing the wrong direction. You can easily drive by it, see the store and not know you are looking at a bakery. They have a big umbrella covering up the company name as well. With that said, if you manage to find Kayla's Cakes you will be treated to buttery rich yummy treats. The wrapping and presentation is beautiful, hinting at the delectable delights waiting for you inside. On this day I enjoyed the waffle croissant with tea. I've been to Kayla's Cake a couple of times and even met the Owner (assuming her name is Kayla) before. I love the macaroons here. They have a wide variety of flavors and occasionally have a specialty/seasonal macaroons. There's other goodies there too like layered cakes and cake jars. The coffee and tea drinks are awesome. The pricing is very reasonable. It's about $2.75 for a macaroon and specialty ones like the Crème Brûlée flavor will be slightly more because of the extra work needed to caramelize the sugar. The café itself is small and has just a couple seating, but the décor is clean and Zen like. I wish they had locations in Irvine, but for now coming here is a treat. read more

The ingredients are of top quality. I called the store and spoke to Kayla, the owner. She was kind enough to inform me that she obtained quality ingredients from all over the world (e.g., France, Belgium, Switzerland, Japan, etc.). We spoke about the flavors and prices of the macarons, which I informed her that the macarons' prices are low and I expected them to be more expensive given the quality of ingredients. Kayla is very passionate about the flavor and quality of her macarons. I bought all the 17 flavors they had today, and I have tried 8. I will wait till tomorrow to try the remaining 9. My favorites are the Belgium dark chocolate, crème brûlée, galaxy caramel, and cream raspberry. I have a feeling I will also love the fruity pebbles, lemon meringue pie, Nutella milk chocolate, and Oreo cheesecake after I try them. I have had authentic French macarons, which I love, but none of numerous macarons from multiple well known and lesser known locations that I tried were close enough to the authentic French version. Bought some of Kayla's macarons from a Disney CA Adventure stand expecting the typical overpriced, horrible food experience. Especially since Wifey is a registered macaron snob, turning up her nose at anything less than fresh Laduree served with attitude and a French accent, I was shocked when she elbowed toddlers aside to polish off the rest of the box. A quick Google led us to their website, Amazon store, and Fullerton brick and mortar. We had officially become Kayla's macaron stalkers. Since then we've gotten Uber delivery numerous times as well as visiting their store in person, and the macarons every time are just stunningly perfect: crispy outside, tender inside, great consistency to the fillings, and sophisticated flavors that really convey the love that went into them. A true hidden gem in Fullerton! This location can be found in an unassuming part of town, but the interior is so posh and modern. There's parking right in front, but also some spots in the neighborhood. Also, great job training your staff to be super friendly and welcoming! I first tried Kayla's cake macarons from the brea mall, but I'm thrilled to see she has opened up her own shop in my hometown! Her macarons are not only aesthetically pleasing, but they're also really delicious and well-made with quality ingredients you can taste. My personal favorite is the creme brûlée macaron, but they're all so good! The box packages for the macarons are adorable and elegant - perfect for gifting. I must also mention her big, thick cookies are marvelous, and I'm a self-proclaimed cookie fiend! They are comparable to Levain in NY, and that's saying a lot! I came here on a Tuesday to order a cake for pick up. I paid for the vanilla confetti cake expecting a vanilla version of the pink confetti cake (that is what the worker said it would be the same just in white color) I come back on Saturday to pick up and I receive a plain white cake with no cream deco or confetti. I explained my situation and the workers quickly became very defensive and said I didn't specify the details and told me to do that "next time". The way they handled the situation was not professional at all and wanted me to leave right away. No wonder there is ZERO customers on a Saturday morning. I would never come back here. I am always on the search for a superior Macaron and I luckily had the opportunity to experience what Kayla's Cakes had to offer. First the store front is very cute, Instantly took me back to Greece with the white and blue colors. They have their own parking lot which was super convenient an their location from my workplace makes it a perfect quick trip to fix my sweet tooth. I was greeted right away and my eye's went directly to the many flavors of macarons offered. I tried the earl grey (always my favorite), vanilla, strawberry, creme brulee, pistachio, galaxy caramel and affogato. I also purchased some of the unicorn macarons for my staff. I enjoyed all of the macaron flavors and the texture was spot on. My staff also really enjoyed them and wanted to know where I got them. WHAT A CUTE SHOP!!! This little gem is tucked in a little corner off Orangethorpe with its own little parking lot! You can't see it from the main street so the shop is only visited by people looking for it. Staff was amazing and friendly. Their display basically shows all they carry. They don't have the most diverse baked goods, but they're really pretty and tasty, perfect for gifting. I picked up 2 cake jars? Birthday cake and red velvet. They were moist and not too sweet, which I appreciate. The cakes were amazing to look at. They range around $40 for a small cake, so if you're having a small gathering and need something really, really aesthetic to look at, perfect. I do think the shop has very limited options, though, so unless you're visiting for specific needs, not sure if it'll attract a lot of people. Was lucky enough to win one of the Yelp contests and got a free holiday box of macarons! While I was there, I also ordered a snickerdoodle espresso. The snickerdoodle espresso is definitely a unique drink. It tasted of cinnamon and apple cider with that deep rich taste of coffee at the very end. I really enjoyed this drink even though it didn't taste exactly like a snickerdoodle! I haven't gotten through all of the holiday box, but from the few I've already tried, they're very high quality macarons! We ordered the Oreo cake and it was OK, it looks nice but it didn't wao me, I think I had other places better and cheaper. The flavor is very subtle and not that soft or moist. Had a great experience at this bakery. It's just behind the Mariscos place and the liquor store. They have their own parking area with no other businesses, just a heads up. Also, order ahead of time if you want the Portuguese custard tarts and possibly other items. I went there and it took about 20 min to make them fresh, which my coworkers absolutely destroyed in 60 seconds lol. 9 custard tarts in an order. They also have macaroons, which I didn't get but they have many flavors. The cookies were fresh baked as well, and I didn't get to taste them, but judging by how fast they disappeared at work I'd say they were pretty darn delicious. Check this place out! I tried a Rose latte and two macarons - Pistachio and Strawberry Shortcake. The Rose Latte (iced) is picture perfect and great taste. I loved the rose water flavor, which wasn't incredibly strong - just the right amount of flavor. I also enjoyed the energy I got from the latte. I just want to point out I am not a coffee person but like I said earlier my mother is walking distance from here and she loves coffee. When we first walked in, we were greeted so kindly and enthusiastically by the server. Per her recommendation, we got two of the best selling flavor of macaron. They were both beautifully made and contains layers of flavor that goes beyond a regular sweet desert. The egg tart on the other hand I feel might be a bit too sweet, the sweetness covered the custard flavor and the pasty could be a bit more texture as well. I wanted to buy macarons as a birthday gift so I drove to two local bakeries that I knew carried them. The first one only had two flavors available. (It was 11:00 am) So I drove to the second place and they had three flavors, but the woman at the counter couldn't tell me if or when they would have any new macarons, nor could she tell me how long the few that were there had been sitting in the case (a day, a week? No clue). So I Yelped "macarons" and found Kayla's Cakes. I phoned ahead this time because it was a bit of a drive and was told they had 14 flavors of freshly baked macarons available. 14 flavors!! Kayla's is a lovely little coffee shop and bakery. The service was friendly and I got a dozen beautiful macarons for my gift. Although some of the flavors might be gluten free - you might want to double check with them if you have allergies like I do) I can taste the spice in their chai which that's how I like it. I had mine with almond milk. It has some sweetness in it which I believe it's made in house and prepared that way. However it's not overly sweet. They have their own parking lot, gated and quite spacious. So parking is not an issue here. They also have a stand in downtown disney if you happen to be there. I'm so happy Kayla's Cake has opened their newest shop in Fullerton. They are truly a hidden gem as they are located behind the plaza off Gilbert/Orangethorpe. The shop is small but all the magic happens in their bakery kitchen. The interior is bright and the set up is super cute. My sweet tooth was in over drive so I really wanted some macarons. We decided to stop by here although they were closing in 30 minutes. Luckily, upon arrival most items were still on display and in stock. As soon as we walked through the blue doors, we were warmly greeted by the staff. I decided to go with the design your own box of 6. You also have the option of pre-selected boxes. It was so difficult to choose the flavors because they all looked eye catching. I LOVE macarons and have tried them in France so I am picky when it comes to this delicate pastry. I also have my favorite spot in which I don't mind going the distance. After drooling from anticipation, I opted for Pistachio, Creme Brulee, Raspberry Cream, Earl Grey, Rose Champagne, and Galaxy Caramel. My first nibble of the Pistachio macaron left me in awe. It was definitely made with high quality ingredients and care. The macarons are the perfect soft and chewy texture. The cream filling is lightly sweetened which is on point with French pastries! Brought my sister along to come support another small business. I wanted her to try some of there many delicious options they provide. As you enter you are greeted by there friendly staff. What we loved about this place was how big and airy it felt. There is enough room for you and your whole family. There is sitting areas on opposite sides of the building with electrical outlets as well as tables outside to enjoy an iced Chai Latte just like we did on this nice spring day. Truly appreciate how bright and clean its inside and they also provide a restroom which is always a bonus. Beyond my expectations! I've been randomly asking people if they've ever had a "croffle" and rant about how good it is. It's really ridiculous how good it is. It comes out warm and crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. To do a test on how good it was cold, I waited after it cooled down. Result: still effing good but warm is better.
