Staff is all very nice and friendly, facility is very clean. Wanted to give a shoutout to our groomer, Cayla. She did a seal cut for my two Pomeranians by hand and then dressed the two up and had a little photo shoot for them, which she shared with me when I picked them up! So very cute and very much appreciated! I definitely recommend this place! 5/5!!

Ever since moving to Irvine, I've had a really difficult time finding the right groomer for my special-need tripaw pup. Many of the places I tried in the past either didn't do a great job grooming his face or, even worse, shaved him so closely that you could see the open wound. Part of the challenge is that my pup, who was sadly neglected by his previous owner, reacts differently to different people. Honestly, we've developed a bit of PTSD from trying to find someone who truly understands and cares. That's why I'm so incredibly grateful to have found Kawaii Pet Salon! I honestly didn't expect too much from the grooming session--especially when it came to his face--because he tends to squirm and get nervous when people go near it. But to my surprise, they did an amazing job! His face was groomed so thoughtfully and with such care. In the past, other groomers would leave him looking a bit... alien-like. Not this time! Even more heartwarming was hearing how well he did with his groomer, Emily. You can truly feel how much they care for the animals they work with. Emily shared with us that she has a tripaw kitty of her own, which made us feel even more understood and comforted. I truly recommend Kawaii Pet Salon to anyone looking for a groomer who will treat your furry family with kindness, patience, and genuine love--not like just another appointment on the schedule. If your pet tends to be anxious during grooming like ours, I'd really encourage you to give them a try (just a side note, we did feed him anti-anxiety meds before the grooming session). We finally found a place where our boy feels safe--and that means everything.

I am writing this to warn other dog owners, especially those with puppies. When we picked up our puppy his eyes were visibly hemorrhaged. I was immediately mortified. We also noticed a cut and shaved area on his private parts that looked extremely irritated and possibly verge of bleeding. To make matters worse the groomers (a male and female) claimed they did not know how this happened and were openly asking each other what could have caused it, which was alarming. I was in shock and immediately took my puppy to the vet next door. One of the groomers walked me over, and by chance the actual veterinarian was at the front desk. After hearing what happened, the vet asked the groomer if a leash had been placed around my puppy's neck. He confirmed that it had. The vet then explained that if a leash is too tight, it can restrict oxygen to the brain, which can cause eye hemorrhaging. We then took our puppy to our own veterinarian, who confirmed the same cause. He told us our puppy was lucky, but still required medication for a week. Regarding his private area, the groomers claimed it was due to an allergy, which our vet confirmed was not true. He explained the area had been shaved too close to the skin, causing the injury. To be fair, the groomers did acknowledge the incident and paid for the vet visit. However, this does not change the seriousness of what occurred. I have had dogs my entire life and this has never happened at any groomers appointment at other places ever. We trusted this business with our puppy and will not be returning. Please be extremely cautious bringing your dog here.

Omg finally a pet salon that not only cuts and grooms but knows how to style! I love their attention to detail, every time I pick up my pets I am pleasantly surprised at how cute they've made them. Unlike other places where I usually notice a hair or two missed, at this salon I never see any errors. They also put the cutest accessories on my dogs. Also they are very fast, at other places sometimes I end up waiting 4 hours for the grooming session to end, but here I get the message to pick up before it hits 2 hours. Definitely worth booking and driving to, the staff are skilled and friendly. I also like how when I drop my dogs off, they don't take them to the back or anything like other places where it leaves you wondering if they are in a cage or such. Very nice setup, and they deliver great results.

Kawaii indeed! My baby girl had the cutest haircut here. Kawaii Pet Salon is very thorough in cleaning. Most importantly, I trust them in clipping the nails of my baby (my baby had trauma with her nails clipped too short and caused her nails to bleed)

We've been taking our pets here (cat and dog) for maybe a year now and so far they've been pretty solid. They've been pretty accommodating especially when it comes to moving appointments up (or back) and one time when I was off by 30 minutes, they called (were very nice) to make sure I was still showing up. And still took us. Our dog is a Hungarian Puli so his coat tends to cord on its own if we don't brush it often (which unfortunately we don't). Kawaii has been great about taking out any mats and camouflaging it as best as they can. We usually have a great laugh when we pick him up as he looks like he's heading to a job interview instead of his shaggy self. They've also been working on our Siberian cat who we didn't get groomed until we got our dog and he was gumming her up with his drool all the time. They've been great about preserving her coat and sending her back to us fluffy and clean. They definitely deliver a consistent product and have been very easy to work with. read more

Keeps getting worse each time I come here. The staff is friendly, but the work is never how I like it. I have a small maltipoo that is fairly easy to cut. I always ask for a short trim, but it's never completed to my preference despite clarifying exactly what I'm looking for prior to receiving the service. read more

Kawaii Pet salon, I am writing this response here to address the comment you left below. I want to make one thing absolutely clear: I saw what happened with my own eyes. You and your staff know exactly what took place. Calling my report a "false claim" is both inaccurate and unacceptable. There may be no CCTV footage, but I witnessed your groomer in black clothing striking the dog under the counter, where it wouldn't be easily seen. Just because something wasn't recorded on video doesn't mean it didn't happen. I saw it -- clearly and unmistakably. My report was not made lightly or based on assumptions. I observed behavior that was deeply concerning, and as a responsible dog owner and community member, I chose to report it to the proper authorities. That is not spreading misinformation -- that is standing up for animals who cannot speak for themselves. At the time of the incident, I was alone with three of your staff members. My dog was visibly trembling, and the atmosphere felt intimidating. I did not feel safe addressing the issue in the moment, but I did what I believed was right by reporting it afterward. While I respect the findings of Irvine Animal Control, your explanation does not change what I personally witnessed. I also want to express how uncomfortable I am knowing that you have my personal contact information and chose to use it to send me unsolicited messages. That kind of contact was inappropriate and unwelcome. I have no interest in continuing any form of communication with your business. Do not contact me again. read more

I called today to try and set an emergency grooming appt for my nephews pup the day of. They were so booked and not able to take anyone. They were able to make some adjustments and squeeze him in, which I couldn't be more happy and appreciative! I ran into the issue with my nephew not having his vaccination list available and the vet was closed, we were trying every way we could to get this info. We were not able to get it, but they accommodated us with a day that would work with hesitation. Overall they were extremely patient and really wanted to ensure we could secure an appointment, and I wanted to make sure I followed policy. At the end of the day I am an extremely happy customer. I haven't even had an appt yet with them and the customer service is beyond amazing! Thank you Emily SO SO SO much for your help and patience with me today, looking forward to my appt.! read more

We've been bringing our dog here for grooming and the service is always amazing. The staff is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and clearly love what they do. Every time, our pup comes out looking fresh, clean, and happy! That said, I do have to mention on one occasion the grooming's been a little too close for comfort. He had some razor rash around his rear. Nothing too serious, but something to watch out for. Despite that, we'll absolutely keep coming back. They consistently do a great job, and I plan to mention it next time just so they can be a little more careful. Overall, we really appreciate their hard work and kindness! read more

We've been coming to Kawaii Pet Salon for a few months now and we've had a fantastic experience at this place! All of the staff is very professional, incredibly friendly, and clearly knows what they're doing. They took great care of Chizu and made the whole grooming process stress-free for both of us. They always listened carefully to what we wanted and our pet looked amazing afterward! It's clear they have a real passion for animals and treat them with kindness and patience. The place is clean, organized, and had a calm atmosphere. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for top-notch grooming and excellent customer service! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a pet salon that does adorable cuts! I took my two Yorkie mixes here for the first time and they did a wonderful job with their teddy bear cuts. It looks like I found the salon for us. I liked their cuts so much, I booked my other two dogs' appointments as soon as I saw them. So happy with their service for my 4mth old havapoo puppy! Prior to booking an appointment here, I stopped by to check it out first. I could see a couple of dogs being groomed and they were both so calm and relaxed. It gave me some reassurance that my puppy would be in good hands. I dropped her off the following week for her first grooming service. She was there for almost 2 hrs, and came out so happy and looked adorable. The customer service was wonderful and friendly. Will definitely be returning! read more

I highly recommend this place and can't stop talking about it. Some background: I've been to some awful pet salons, one where the groomer verbally berated her customers, and one where my dog needed stitches after. So you already know both my dog and I were anxious. The team here is so professional, warm, and welcoming. You can tell they love dogs by how gentle they are. I really want to highlight Kayla especially. She always picks up the phone or calls you back right away, and she always welcomes you with a bright smile. This is my second visit and unfortunately my dog's fur had become matted which meant she had to be shaved. Despite the super short fur Kayla managed to make my dog still look adorable. I took our maltipoo in for a grooming and he came back looking so cute! I've taken him to many groomers in the past and he would come home as if he has zero confidence and teary eyed. So I started to groom him at home, which does the job of keeping him clean. Tbh, it takes hella long and it doesn't look the prettiest. So while visiting relatives in the area. I decided to check out this new pet salon. After he got a full groom from Kawaii Pet Salon, he came back with the zoomies. Great experience here so far as a first timer. The staff and my dog's groomer are very friendly and caring. Got the exact cut and style I wanted. My dog is half bichon so the maintenance is high with brushing and usually gets groomed every 2 months. He came in moderately matted and came out as a happy kawaii dog. His past grooming experiences (elsewhere) has not been the best where he'd come out angry (at me for putting him there) or with high anxiety either because it took way too long or rushed with aggressive brushing techniques. With Kawaii Pet Salon, they finished reasonably on time as estimated and my dog felt perfectly fine. My puppy stayed for two weeks at Paw Sweet Paw, and I have to say the marketing does a better job…read morethan how the business actually operates. Prior to the stay, I was told first-timers get 1 week of free boarding. Knowing that we'd be out of the country for 2 weeks, this was perfect, on top of thinking the workers were nice. I also made sure they would be sending photo updates EVERY DAY via email and that there are cameras in the play area for us to check on him. As the front desk lady could tell, I made sure to make their lives easier, so I printed out 2 A4 sheets of things to know about my pup, being as detailed as possible so they wouldn't be confused about what to do since he's still a puppy. Two weeks later, we had to ask our friend to pick him up because they said no one could help release the pup on Easter Day. When they went to pick him up, both the bowl and the bed were missing, and they couldn't find them on the spot. They had to be delivered the day after, and ONLY because I made that phone call to confirm if they could find my puppy's bowl and his ginormous bed. During those two weeks, we clearly informed them that we would be out of the country and that SMS wouldn't work, yet they didn't remember until I emailed them, twice. Over the 15 days, I could barely see my pup on the camera, and I only received THREE email updates and one 10-second video of my puppy, which didn't even show anything meaningful. It felt like it was recorded just for the sake of sending something. One of the updates was also sent only after I emailed them the second time. Being told we'd be getting one week of free pet boarding for first-timers was WHY we chose to stay here. The staff also told us we could call for a refund if we were mischarged. Two weeks later, when we called, the lady told me they were going through reorganization, so workers were moving around, maybe that's why things were missing, and that the free first week only applied to daycare. I would have to speak to the manager about my concern. The manager obviously had the answer in mind and avoided my phone calls a couple of times, on top of my calls getting hung up more than 2-3 times during transfer. When she finally picked up, without hesitation to my question, she said she couldn't refund me for the first free week, but she could offer me a discount, or a free daycare day or some other discounts. Lol. What's the difference between giving me back a 1-week refund as your team promised versus a discount? Why not solve the problem instead of dancing around it? Why am I getting "punished" when your workers told me the wrong thing? Sure, you might lose a couple hundred bucks, but what's more valuable is that you're losing is a customer who will no longer trust your business, and the word-of-mouth effect that could've helped bring in more customers. As a business owner, you should understand better why pet owners trust you with their dogs and what they expect, especially in Orange County. Unfortunately, our first experience was horrendous and extremely disappointing. The level of disorganization and hassle is beyond disappointing. If you're looking for a pet boarding hotel, I strongly suggest finding somewhere else. Like the lady said, they're going through reorganization, so they might be too busy taking care of customers right now anyway.
