Decided to try this salon. It's new and didn't have many reviews so was unsure of expectations. Making the appointment via phone was easy. The staff were pleasant. On the day of the appointment I walked in and no one was at reception. I called the salon number and someone from the back room came over straight away. Dropped off my pet with groomer Petal. Loved her energy and vibes. I felt very comfortable leaving my dog with her. She took a brief history, and listened to what I was looking for. The grooming service took about 2.5 hours and my dog came back smelling amazing. He was clean and his cut was perfect! And the best part is he was happy (not scared). Dogs are required to be vaccinated and records are to be emailed to them. I like that the bag room has a viewing window for transparency. Will definitely be back. read more

Today was our first visit taking our newly adopted cat Banana to this groomer. With cats, we knew there was a possibility of either our cat scratching or being aggressive, but when we picked up Banana we were told he was very calm and they were able to bathe him and trim his nails. The lady at the front desk told us, something along the lines of, oh by the way, the groomer in the back said that his nail looks weird in the back right. We were under the impression they left it alone. So we reply with concern and share that we'd monitor him for any active licking since there hasn't been any concern up until now. She told us that sometimes cat nails are super fragile and that there might have been something black underneath. We went home and took him out of his carrier to see his foot actively bleeding. We attempted to wrap his foot up but had no luck and just put a cone on him until he could receive professional care. This bleeding was not a previous issue and with how much blood came out of his paw, it does not look like he even has a nail there anymore. We understand accidents happen, but I think we would have preferred an honest and upfront conversation. Something like "we're so sorry, he moved when we clipped his nails" would have been much preferable over coming home and seeing our cat actively bleeding. read more

Very disappointing experience in Irvine Branch. Before leaving our two Pomeranians, we specifically asked if they were experienced with grooming the breed, and they assured us they were. Unfortunately, the results showed otherwise. We gave clear instructions and even provided a reference photo of the haircut we wanted. We also emphasized not to cut into the inner coat, but our instructions were not followed. Proper coat care is so important for Pomeranians, and it's frustrating when specific requests are ignored. I hope they pay closer attention to clients' instructions and breed-specific grooming in the future. read more

Amazing. I can't even begin to express how happy I am with their services! I've been truly blessed to have found this gem. My puppy, Benito, is such a nervous wreck and they know just how to handle him. Our groomer, Petal, is a god send! She knows how to get him to calm down and do his best. Will continue coming here. I was honestly really hesitant to switch groomers because my dog Maple has been going to the same place since she was a puppy. But it was time for a change..Maple would come back shaking and clearly stressed. Researched a bunch of places and decided to try this place as I had heard good things from others. I booked with Petal and she is the sweetest! She is such a gem! Petal was super gentle and really paid attention to Maple, especially since it was her first time there. Maple usually hates getting her nails filed/shaved down and will fight it, but she did so well with her, which says a lot. Best part, Maple came out happy. Tail wagging, excited, not stressed at all. We've tried several different grooming places, and each time our girls are shaking with fear when we take them. Our girls are English Staffordshire Bull Terriers, very low maintenance. However, they need to get their teeth, nails, and glands checked for overall health. We found a gem at a local Petco. She was kind, patient, and overall lovely. Two things stood out to us: one, our girls weren't shaking or even fighting us to get them through the building door. They accepted that they had to get groomed, but didn't mind once they saw Petal. Two was We had an appt, and there was a person ahead of us waiting as well. She spoke to, comforted, and took time with the people ahead of us. She didn't rush to help as many people as she could. She apologized to us, walked the other pup to the kennel, and then helped us. When it was our turn, we told her we really liked how she gave each pup her undivided attention. She said yes, "I give each of them the attention they need. I'm sorry you may have to wait, but each pup needs to feel comfortable." Couldn't agree more. Than came, Petal said she was leaving. We live in Huntington Beach, and she was going to Irvine. Which was kennel-free, and our two girls would stay together the whole time. No brainer, we followed her, and our girls are still a bit dramatic, but when we pick them up, they still give Petal kisses and love, as if to say ok we still love you. read more

Omg, the first thing you see as you walk in is a beautiful green like entrance, with a cute neon light sign. Loved the staff. They are so friendly! The pricing is the best compared to other pet salons I've been to! There is an amazing lady named Petal. She made Zola, my sweet German shepherd girl, super comfortable that she wasn't nervous or afraid at all. This was probably the best bathing experience as well as the nail salon she ever had. We've been coming to Petrichor for a few months now. Previously, we took our dog to the Petco that was a few minutes away from us. We loved our groomer there, Petal, so much that we followed her to Petrichor when she moved, despite the now half hour drive. Petal is now the full time groomer at this salon and one of the only groomers that our previously traumatized and anxious Maltese, Zero, actually likes. We've known Petal for a couple of years now and she's very patient, kind, and clearly loves dogs and her work. She'll make adjustments and accommodations as needed for our more difficult dog and will alert us if she notices any issues such as his allergies acting up again (environmental allergies, unrelated to any grooming products). Zero always looks happy to see Petal and when we pick him up afterwards. The other people at the salon are also very sweet and professional. The salon always looks clean and organized. I highly recommend this salon. Your fur baby will be well cared for here! read more

I brought my cat here for grooming, but the fragrance they used was extremely strong. I could smell it from far away and it stayed on my hands after touching him. My cat started blinking constantly and keeping his eyes closed, and I ended up taking him to the emergency vet. Cats are very sensitive to scents. I wouldn't recommend this place for cats. read more

I brought in Delilah, our 12 year old Kerry Blue Terrier. Not many folks know the breed let alone how to groom one. We had a breeder/groomer for years who took care of D but she got up in her years. I found Petrichor online and the Mrs. and I decided to give them a try. They met D first, who was looking like a rag-a-muffin, and did their homework before her grooming day. We asked Petal for D not to have the fall over her eyes (breed talk) and our girl looks AMAZING! I would highly recommend Petrichor.
