Rude shopkeeper in the beautiful marketplace. Open 2 hours a day, barks at tourists, has 'do not this and do not that' signs everywhere, does not have the best pearls. Whereas the Coconut MP has ALOHA spirit, this shop does not. read more

We saw this shop online & texted Stephanie to see if she could squeeze us in on a last minutes notice. She kindly offered to come in early so she could get us in before my Aunt's flight left. This was my sixth piece of permanent jewelry yet she had options I haven't seen anywhere else. We all got matching bracelets with the pearl design. I ended up buying a pearl necklace as well. The shop is filled with unique designs that are all beautifully made. Stephanie was incredibly nice & very patient with our millions of questions, & did not make me feel pressured to buy anything which made choosing my pieces a lot easier! Highly recommend coming here! read more

Kauai Handmade - Permanent bracelet - Jewelry Near Me - Kapaa, Hawaii

I've been a loyal admirer and collector of jewelry made by the brilliant jewelry maker of Kauai Handmade since 2019. My first piece ever was this freshwater pearl necklace in leather -- I got at Made in Hawaii 2019. I was floored by its mix of simple elegance yet bold reverence. The care and energy woven into each piece of jewelry she makes is felt and evident. The quality of each jewelry is strong and long lasting too. I was eager for another piece after that first necklace, eventually I was able to get the silver ring here that I wore nearly everyday -- pictured with the earrings I also ordered later, to match. I love Tahitian pearls and I love the style she did for the ring and earrings. I'm just a humble freelancer like many others, I make just enough to make ends meet. I can't splurge on a lot. So for me, investing in these beautiful jewelries over time is a gift to myself and an honor for me to also support a local small business. I have a few other pieces by her not pictured here. Finally, this gold ring with tahitian pearl and diamonds is the most extravagant gift I've ever gotten / bought for myself. I worked extra hard for this one and was so elated to have it for my birthday. These jewelry are not insanely expensive, but priced at a respectable rate that makes sense to me and would require some time to save and budget, which is fine. I believe artists should not price low because artisans put so much time and work into their craft. The prices at this shop honor the jewelry maker's time, energy and labor, just like any other artists and services. The point of my long storytelling is that jewelry is important not just for aesthetics. For me, I wear these pieces daily, for spiritual protection, for connection to the ocean, for grounding and a strong sense of self, for extra strength when out in the world, for confidence on days that are tough. So thank you to Kauai Handmade for being part of my life over the years, for creating and providing such beautiful and potent jewelry for us locals and the world. read more

Kauai Handmade - Two rings that I bought! - Jewelry Near Me - Kapaa, Hawaii

Stephanie is the owner of this wonderful shop. She helped me try on and pick out a few pieces. Lots of great jewelry hand made by her, especially the various seashell incorporated ones. She also had some items made by other local artists. Worth a stop in this cute shop. You can sometimes see her making pieces while browsing. In love with the ones I got! read more

Stephanie is the exact type of business owner you want to work with--interacting with her makes it clear she takes pride in her art and in her customer's experience. I wanted a ring to use as a temporary engagement ring to propose with before selecting a diamond together. I also wanted something unique and handmade in Hawaii to commemorate the location of the proposal. Stephanie delivered and also had the kindness to follow up about how the proposal went. She helped me, a jewelry novice, navigate sizing and potential future changes to the ring. I really valued her input and kindness. We intend to stop by for another gift next time we're visiting our favorite island. read more

Kauai Handmade - Loving my ROSE GOLD Wave ring and cuff!!! - Jewelry Near Me - Kapaa, Hawaii

Some of the best things in life are surprises. Honestly, finding Kauai Handmade was a complete accident, but within moments we knew we were in a sacred space with Stephanie! Her space is intimate, but we found that she was really great at managing her clientele, allowing only a max # of people to shop at one time. Located in the center of the Coconut Marketplace, we came to the area for lunch and took a stroll around afterwards while our kiddos grabbed some shave ice. Her shop caught my eye. Modern décor and from the outside it wasn't clear that it was primarily a jewelry shop, as there were quite a few other great items to look at inside the store! Beautiful racks of clothes, a few curated swim suits, adorable Turkish cotton beach towels, and more. But, even if you came in for the other things, you stay for the jewelry. OHHhhhhh, her jewelry!! Everything is hand made by Stephanie herself. Many of the shells, glass, and stones she uses are collected by her as well! The stories behind every item are inspiring and make you feel like each piece is already an heirloom. My husband and I were spinning around the shop, trying on necklaces, bracelets and rings. Asking about the history of each piece, and drinking in the aloha spirit from Stephanie. She is truly an amazing artist who takes pride in her craft. Every single item is a wonderful expression of her ability and creativity. We left purchasing a men's Tahitian Pearl necklace for my husband, and a beautiful light aqua sea glass ring for myself. I have already told so many of my friends about her jewelry, and best part is that she ships her products too! Check out her online site ;) kauaihandmadejewelry.com We can't wait to get a few more items soon, and we will definitely stop in the next time we are in town. Thank you Stephanie for sharing your magic with us! read more

I live on Maui and I love to support woman owned businesses and collect handmade local jewelry and brands, so on my visit to Kauai I knew I had to find a unique piece. I searched for a while and was specifically looking for Niihau Shells. I came across Kauai handmade and Stephanie was absolutely amazing to work with. She took the time to work with me to custom design what I was looking for and even educated me about shells as well as her special technique. It was such a pleasure working with her and I will be commissioning her for further unique work. she is so meticulous and looks at the smallest details of each shell and each piece she creates. Love her attention to detail. I have never seen a design as perfect as what she created for me and get complements on my necklace often. Adorable little shop filled with beautiful handmade jewelry from local, rare seashells and gorgeous pearls from around the world with quality gold and silver made by the owner herself, who is very hardworking and kind. I tried to go in on a Saturday to get some of her jewelry for Mother's Day as I had been following her work on Facebook and saw so many beautiful designs she came up with that I knew that's exactly the gift I wanted for a special Mother's Day gift, but she was closed as she was diligently working on intricate commission orders that were her priority to finish that day, but I knocked on the door and asked her if I could please come in just for a few minutes because I had a good idea of what I wanted and told her I wouldn't bother her as she worked on her pieces, and she gratefully let me in. I was impressed with how many varieties of beautiful jewelry she had in there that ranged from affordable, adorable pieces, to extravagant, intricate, hard to make jewelry that is precious to the people of Hawaii as they include very rare shells from Kauai and Niihau that were once only allowed to be worn by Royalty of Hawaii. That's what I got for the Matriarch of our family from her shop, a Gold Chain with a gorgeous Sunrise shell on it that made her so happy she cried with joy. I can't thank the owner enough for letting me in and making such a beautiful piece of jewelry that really touched our Grandmother's heart as we told her her that this shell was once only for Royalty and to us she is. Thank you Kauai Handmade. Not only are the pieces beautiful, but the owner has a heart of gold. I was happy to meet this sweet, very creative and talented woman. read more

My family and I traveled to Kauai back in December and my mom and I knew that we wanted to purchase some pearls on our trip. We stumbled upon Kauai Handmade and met the incredible Stephanie, the business owner, who shared so much of her knowledge and expertise about pearls, jewelry, and gemstones. She listened to what we were looking for and showed us many of her pieces that we might enjoy, while also not pressuring us at all to purchase. I was obsessed with one of her south sea pearl necklaces and my mom loved some of her rings. Her designs were modern, elegant, and well made, unlike some of the other jewelry stores in the area we visited. We ended up going back to Stephanie a day later and purchased three pieces from her that we wear everyday! Definitely worth a visit for high quality jewelry and a wonderful experience! read more
