I was able to meet the owners and they were very friendly and showed me a lot of pieces. They were very patient, and not pushy at all. They were also very knowledgeable. I had heard about this place from a friend and decided to use a diamond from my old, unused, and outdated ring to be turned into a yellow gold bezel necklace. It was very easy to work with the jeweler and the final product turned out more beautiful than I expected. The gold necklace is dainty, but strong enough for daily use with the bezel covering the diamond very nicely. Totally recommend this place! Imagine the feeling of cruising Kaua'i, two days before your wedding, and hearing your fiancé gasp as she's admiring her engagement ring. With less than 48 hours to go, the ring had popped a melee stone. "It's not that noticeable, you'll never be able to see it in the pictures," she attempted to reassure herself. In comes Yelp. I started calling the local jewelry shops. Most of them were sales only, and offered no repair services. The ones that did had a lead time that would have the ring ready long after the wedding day. Finally, I got ahold of Mark at Goldsmiths. Of course he would have to see the ring before he could make any guarantees, but his willingness to take a look, even 20 minutes till closing, gave me an immense sense of hope. Upon meeting Mark, I could tell instantly that he was the real deal. A jeweler who took pride in his work and operated with integrity and passion for his craft. He gave me an estimate that was beyond fair, and would have it done before the wedding. Score! Naturally, my fiancé was reluctant to leave her ring. I assured her that it was in good hands. First impressions are everything as they say, and I had not even the slightest of doubts or concerns. I even had a ring of my own sized and refinished as well. I dropped the rings off at open of the following business day, and Mark asked that I give him until the end of the day. The assistance we received was over-the-top, from discussion about design creation and stone quality to ring maintenance. They create their own designs, and the variety of the pieces was amazing! They do a lot of custom work for their clients. I saw wedding bands and pendants that I haven't seen anywhere else. My best girlfriend and I are on the island of Kauai for 5 days, driving home from all day excursions, this little store caught my eye. Twice I mentioned we should stop in, and on the third day of our visit we passed by while they were still open. Popping in close to closing, Dana and another lady were working in the store, made friendly chat while we browsed the unique pieces. We tried on probably 15 pieces of jewelry, my friend bought quite a few one of a kind pieces for family at home, and some special things for herself as well. I purchased an awesome handmade sea turtle pendant and chain, (after coming back from a turtle cove visit, and I just love those little guys!) and while browsing and chatting, I found a gorgeous white gold and diamond ring that I really fell in love with. Dana suggested I could take a photo (she wrote down all the info pertaining to this specific ring and placed it next to the display as I took pics) and tell my sweetheart for an easy and satisfying Valentine's Day this year. The shank on my wedding ring broke, it's a diamond band with a solitaire ring soldered together. I called Goldsmiths to see if they did repairs. They did! We took my ring in on Thursday and I got it back Saturday. The workmanship is fantastic. Mark did an outstanding job doing the repair for less than $100. We ended up buying a few pieces of jewelry for ourselves since everything in the store was so unique and made by Mark and his business partner, Dana. I got a petroglyph of a surfer on a flat piece of silver with a beautiful chain. My husband got a very intricately designed dragon. We plan on taking some loose stones we have so that they can design a piece of jewelry for us. My husband and I both remarked that we felt like we knew both of them for years. Dana is an amazing designer! She re-created a family heirloom into the most stunning engagement ring for me! She was patient, kind, and professional throughout the whole process. She hand carved the entire ring so that my stones would be perfectly set, and I was able to see the wax mould as we progressed to make changes until it was perfect.
