The locals seemed enthusiastic about this spot, so we took their recommendation and went. It is not the cleanest, nor does it seem the friendliest upon entry. The drinks and food are on the cheaper side, which was nice. But there is no such thing as Southern hospitality when you walk through those doors. Though my friends and I were able to get seated and get comfortable, there was an extreme turn of events shortly after being there. There was an altercation involving a bartender, the manager, and a customer. I watched a young black male patron get confronted by the manager and from my point of view, it seemed that the customer was trying to de-escalate the situation and explain what was happening. The manager seemed to have no patience for this and started physically assaulting the customer - hiting him in the head, shoving him, etc. I don't know if the manager had friends there or security personnel, but the customer ended up being harassed and assaulted by several other people in the bar. They could have easily let him get his drink and possibly escorted him to another section where he could have been away from the scene or simply refunded his money and asked him to leave. Honestly, from the times I've visited the South, I've never encountered such a disgusting and disturbing interaction. Nor do I think I've ever witnessed something so vile and cruel at an establishment, especially when it was escalated by the staff. I will not be returning, and I would be very wary if you decide to visit this establishment.

As someone from the Bay Area, I am not accustomed to witnessing this type of environment, and the entire situation felt extremely off balance to me. What stood out to me even more was that he appeared to be one of the only Black men in the establishment at the time. I cannot speak to what was in anyone else's mind or their intentions, but witnessing a Black man being singled out, physically confronted by management, and then surrounded by multiple men was deeply unsettling and raised serious concerns for me about how he was being treated. Management should be responsible for deescalating situations and ensuring the safety of everyone inside the establishment not contributing to or escalating a physical altercation. I left feeling disturbed by what I witnessed. No customer should feel singled out, unsafe, or physically threatened in a place that is supposed to provide a safe environment for its patrons. I sincerely hope the establishment takes a serious look at how situations like this are handled and ensures that every customer is treated fairly and with respect, regardless of race.

Walk-On's is a sports bar, and practically every TV was showing preseason NFL games. Those games don't even count toward the regular season, while the WNBA game we wanted to watch had actual playoff implications. I would really love to see Walk-On's invest in WNBA League Pass and give patrons the opportunity to watch women's sports too. Women's sports deserve space on the TVs in sports bars just like men's sports do. Everyone Watches Women's Sports. Thankfully, the food and service were good enough that we stayed and still had a great time. I ordered the Boom Boom Shrimp Tacos with chips and queso, and they were fabulous! My date ordered the redfish tacos and said they were amazing, and our friend had the gumbo. The crackers served with the gumbo tasted a little stale, but that was really our only complaint about the food. There are no TV's to the front or rear of the booths so now you have to sit with your head turned the whole time to watch a game, Neck fatigue and pain. From what I remember the tables were 4 toppers and that's what the booths are. So why the change? Other than that the wait staff has always been friendly and accommodating with requests. The items I have ordered have all been flavorful and served at proper temperature. Sometimes at a busy time your food can sit but not the case so far. Beer always good and cold. So if I'm ever late and can't a table in that area I'll look elsewhere.
