I want to give the Mills more stars. I love the Mills. Pros 1. Books A Million: Get their frequent card and enjoy their discount on books. Yes, I still buy physical books. I'm a dinosaur. 2. Claire's: I love to buy simple things like hairbands, holiday earrings (Halloween, Christmas, Valentines, St. Patrick's, July 4th) and it's great for costume accessories (eyelashes, long gloves, feather boas) 3. Marshalls: shoe department has good size selection 4. Ross Dress For Less: housewares (picture frames, lunch bags and containers). 5. Bed Bath and Beyond: specialty trash bags for Simply Human trash cans, Tervis tumblers. 6. Bath and Body Works: clearance items on body sprays, lotions, gels, hand sanitizers. 7. Teavana: accepts your Starbucks Gold Card. Cons: 1. Food court options are limited. There is a Teavana, Smoothie King but nothing really good to eat. If you're not into fast food. Sorry Charlie. 2. Limited selection in trendy clothes and fashion. 3. I wish Neiman Off 5th had a wider selection of women's clothes. 4. I wish there was a Nordstrom Rack, like at Bunker Hill. If only there was an Apple store and maybe a Microbrewery/Restaurant, I'd throw in an extra star and a half. read more

I am really not a fan of this mall. It has about 5 good stores i like. The sales are not that spectacular and the lay out is horrible. The food court has no good options, I mean no chickfila? Come on Katy Mills, I do like the options they have for the kids. Plenty to do including a movie theater, overall more like a family funplex then a regular mall or outlet. read more

This huge mall is the best place for all the people in your family. It has almost every store there is. From coach and Mk to Hollister and H&M. It's like an outlet mall so all the brands are cheaper here. It's even has a good court with a entertainment for the kids like a carousel and trampoline bungee jumping. I love outlet shopping, and a friend in the Katy-Richmond area said, "You should go to Katy Mills!" Was totally not expecting an indoor mall. This place is sizeable, and looks to have been built sometime in the 90s. There is a mix of outlet and regular shopping here. The parking is generous and slightly more accessible than the Houston Premium Outlets. You'll also appreciate the fact that it's an indoor mall 364 days of the year. It's been awhile since I've been to an indoor mall. I don't even remember the last time I went to one. Instead of writing every single review of the stores I went to with my sister. I just thought I give a few observations. 1. There are charging stations available at select benches. 2. There is a cute "train" your kids can ride which cautiously go through the mall blowing it's horn like a train. 3. There is a kiosk that sells macarons! 4. There's a bookstore. (Always a plus). It's a good mixture of outlet stores and regular stores. I'm not a fan of an indoor mall. Usually when I go to an indoor mall, I go to the stores I want to go to and leave. But it is a little cramped when it gets crowded. So it is narrow. read more

I went to Katy mills mall a few days ago and when I finished shopping I was looking for my car but I got lost so I asked one of these security guard , he is an assistant director his name is Joseph Henderson such an amazing and sweet guy , he was so helpful and found my car , such a hard worker !! read more

It's just one big adult shopping playground for grown-ups! They have a movie theater and arcade, complete with glow-in-the-dark putt-putt golf and a carnival ride or two. Bring your walking shoes and that credit card you've been waiting to pop the seal on. read more

Has some really cool stuff inside including Boba drinks, a great play area for the kids, a trampoline place (which my husband took the kids to), and even a place where you can rent with and drive a Segway! So much in this suburban dreamland and all we have to hang our hat on is this sub-par outlet mall? I must say no more! What of the beautiful buffalo bayou in the spring time? While I'm glad my town has a mall, and an outlet one at that, this one could use some serious help. The bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. Like don't touch anything gross. Outside always has trash everywhere too. I can't figure out why they don't have adequate staff to keep this place clean. A nice outlet mall a reasonable distance from inner city Houston. I think it's comparable to Houston Premium Outlets in Cypress. They have mostly moderate-end stores. Stores I particularly enjoy are Saks off Fifth, Neiman Last Call, Cole Haan, and Express. It's a good layout - a big loop so you don't miss anything, and the food court is in the center. Plenty of parking, so that's never been an issue. read more

This mall is filled with the "younger" crowd. It's an okay place to go to if you need to visit some of the stores they offer, but I wouldn't recommend this mall if you're looking for a more relaxed environment. Most of the stores are also more run-down compared to other locations. (There are some exceptions) read more

I don't see whats the issue with Katy Mills. I drive a good 50 minutes to get there and I am never disappointed. There is more than enough parking, there are a variety of stores within the mall which include Victoria's Secret, Kate Spade, Michael Kors, H&M, Nike, Ross, Marshalls, Burlington and thats just to name a few. There are tons of family friendly activities, a reasonable amount of places to eat and its indoors. Who the heck wants to shop in 100 degree weather when you could be indoors in an air conditioned establishment. Now let me address those that complain about the place being crowded. It is a mall. If your intention is to shop and get good deals then this is the place to go. Its a one stop shop kinda deal and I like it. If you don't like crowds then I suggest you go when the mall opens at 10:00 am get your shopping done and leave. Easy Peezy. I was just there this past Saturday. I got there when the mall opened a little after 10:00 am. I had the place all to myself. I took my time and walked into every store I wanted. I got early deals, had lunch at the Rainforest Cafe and left with no issues or qualms. My only complaint is about TILT the arcade. It is outdated, dirty and half of the machines don't work so its not worth going in there but if you have to spend the day at a mall because you have that much shopping to do then go early, shop till you drop, have lunch, shop some more, catch a movie, shop some more then leave. The concept is for it to be an outlet mall so why complain! More bargains better shopping and you get more bang for your buck. Now for those that complain about there being too many teens, I have not been at any mall in Houston that isn't filled to the rim with them so if you want to avoid the younger crowd do as I say and go early. This mall doesn't stand out like some of the others but has a decent amount of the popular retail stores but fall short in variety for those who are shopping enthusiasts. Most stores don't offer any good discounts and plenty of units are relocating. The layout is not spectacular either and food court does not have a great selection either. However, it is a great place for the kids since there is an arcade, putt putt golf, and a fairly good size AMC movie theather. Tip: it does get pack on the weekends. Overall a good basic mall but recommend to check online of what stores are available before coming here. read more

This mall needs a huge clean up! The bathrooms smell terrible and most of the toilets not functional. Not just one of the bathrooms but all of them! The only good bathroom is at the movie theater. Just to make a note to management response. Thank you for replying to my review. There are always janitorial staff in the restrooms but they are still terrible, I'm sorry. This mall has really gone downhill. Parking lot smells like urine and feces. Really pushy massage people working there. I was literally grabbed and shoved into the massage chair with the Chinese lady telling me in broken English to just try their free 1 minute neck massage. It was hard to get a work in let alone leave so I just went along with it so they could stop hassling me. The "free" massage turned into one of the worst 10 minutes massage I've gotton and stupidly paid $10 for. The huge Asian man doing the chair massage was rough. I honestly thought he was going to break my neck. I tried to tell him I was done but he kept at it. I felt very violated and swore to myself I will never allow myself to get dragged into something like this again. I even got bruises around my neck the next day. Never going back for sure. read more

Mall is ok for an outlet (I'd say take the trip up 99 to Cypress) but if you just need to stop in quick at least it's close. The mall itself is hideous looking. Katy Mills Mall -- not quite a mall, not quite an outlet store. First of all, its not really a mall -- there is no Macy's, no Nordstroms, no Sears, etc -- its not a mall. So what is it then? its more of a collection of stores grouped into a really large circular mall. Most of the stores are ulta-fail if you're a guy, but some are really cool! For instance, I know just about everything there is to know about Coach bags here, because they have a Coach outlet here! Yes! A real Coach bag for about $70!!! I'm not joking! And you're probably laughing since I said it wasn't guy friendly. Trust me, if you show up to your lady friends house with a Coach bag as a "I got you something" - I will say nothing more! :) Seriously, for the most part, most of the shops are sucky. There are some nice ones, like a complete comic book store (Heroes World), or a movie theatre, or a Sanrio store, or even a Rain Forest Cafe! There are so many clothing stores, you'd be hard pressed to find something nice to wear. There is even an Off Saks 5th Ave! If you're ever in Katy, and you need a place to shop, this is it-- there isn't another mall around. Stop in, cool down, walk forever around a mall with a billion stores and enjoy an afternoon shopping :) read more

This "mall" is EXACTLY like the Grapevine Mills "mall" in Dallas. It has the exact same stores (Rain Forrest Cafe, Sun & Ski Sports, Last Call NM, Off 5th, ect ect ect) in the exact same layout with the exact same decor. It's weird....I also put the word "mall" in quotations because I wouldn't really classify it as a mall....perhaps an indoor strip center(??) but mall no. Outlet? Kind of. To be honest, if I lived in Katy and this was the only "mall" I had I would be really really sad. Luckily, I don't live Katy and I have better shopping options much closer to me. So why even bother to go then? WELL, there are a few stores which do offer a good value and make the long drive out to Katy worthwhile. ... -Gap: I feel silly paying full price (around $50) for a polo for my husband at a regular Gap in a regular mall. The Katy Mills Gap has the exact same polos for at least 1/2 the price. Everything is always on sale too, and not just the "sale" where they inflate the price then give you an "outlet" price equal to regular stores. Seriously, there is a good value! -Last Call Neiman Marcus: One word...HEAVEN. This store is fantastic! I could spend hours there hunting for my perfect treasure which I always find. The only area that is lacking is the handbag dept. It's ok but don't go expecting to find Gucci, Prada, YSL or scores of other super high end designers. You will get a lot of Elaine Turner, Cole Haan and L.A.M.B. though. If you really want to find a good treasure, go when they are having an event......the handbag and jewelry event are definitely my favorites. -Coach: Why does anyone pay full price for a Coach bag? I don't get it. This is another store that actually has great (significant) price discounts. I would say there are about 7 stores which make me give this place 3 stars (as opposed to none). Katy Milsl is not where I want to come shopping all the time and it's honestly a tinch on the trashy side BUT to visit I'd say ohhhhh once every 3 months it's exactly what I'm in the mood for. read more

It's an outlet mall so prices are fair at the shops. However, one end of the mall smells like feet (near the theatre). Also, for the past 5 years that I've lived in Houston and have gone to Katy Mills, the more "ghetto" is seems to become. This place kind of grosses me out. Typical "Mills" mall. Lots of stores, decent selection, but even though they are outlets, I rarely find deals that great. I do love the Saks/Nordstrom outlets where there ARE some good deals, but stores can sometimes be super picked over, particularly Old Navy. Sale stuff picked over, new stuff is full price. Dark, dreary interior with an annoying, sprawling circular layout. It's easy to navigate but it sort of feels never-ending. The movie theatre there kind of sucks. Full of loud, obnoxious teens on the weekends, the air conditioning wasn't working the two times I went, and the theatres feel a little outdated. I didn't have it, but my brother said the popcorn was salty and gross. read more

This was my very first time in this mall, it was so many stores that I didn't have enough chance to visit them all. This mall takes 2 to 3 days to complete all your shopping. Love those little ponies and animals that they rent out for you to ride and park outside the stores, throughout the mall, which creates laziness on my end. Very spacious, with plenty of choices, and plenty of sports stores which I love. Parking area is huge of course, it is a mall. Didn't see much security, but didn't think it was needed. Food court selection was excellent, and store employees were great. Even though I am not a mall person, I look forward to returning to shop here and try the Segway racetrack. read more

This mall is alright. I can find something I want to buy just about anywhere I go. This place wasn't special, and in some ways I was pleased and disappointed in others. I came looking for 3 things - shoes, lingerie, and a nice handbag. I went to quite a few stores. I was hoping to score at Nieman's Last Call or Saks Off 5th - but all I found was a bunch of reject shoes. I found a couple pair of shoes (wedges and pointy toed nude/black heels) at Off Broadway Shoes & a $10 credit, a hot pair of heels at Aldo (patent leather platform pumps), and lingerie at Frederick's...I left w/no handbag :-( Even the Cole Haan outlet/clearance was not good. Their handbags were grannyish and their shoes also looked like left over rejects. I found nothing at Guess either...oh well. No, not all stores are clearance or outlets - so be prepared to either pass up normal retail stores or pay full price. This place was easy to find. True, the food court is not good, but I did find a little kiosk selling amazing pastries - not cookies, not donuts - pastries, both savory and sweet. Magnificent! read more

I've grown to love Katy Mills in the past few years due to their increases in popular stores. From the recent addition if H&M to Kate Spade, you can always count on amazing deals resulting in happy wallets! There are also a few attractions here, including AMC Theaters, a Segway course, and a trampoline place! Avoid on Friday nights if you don't do well in infinite crowds of little loitering teenagers. I love getting great discounts at Off 5th and Last Call. It is well worth the drive to save so much money on high end items. When my husband started his new job, he needed a new black suit so we went straight to Katy Mills and found great deals (he's a hard to find size since he's somewhat short). We got his suit for about 40% off, a tie for 70% off, and a bunch of dress shirts. I tend to find great deals on things like jewelery and purses at both places. The shoes are always picked over, but I wear a pretty common size. The rest of the mall is just so-so. I'm used to going to the Galleria where there are less teens running around, so it takes some getting used to. The food court is strangely small, but there is a lot of seating. The Bass Pro Shop is interesting if you're looking to kill time. read more

I'm sorry, but that stupid train annoys me. I shouldn't have to dodge a train to shop in a mall. If I wanted to dodge traffic while trying to shop, then I would go to a strip mall where I had to walk across a parking lot! That said, it is definitely an outlet mall. You will find the same stores as at most malls, but for many of them there are lines of clothes created specifically for their outlet stores. Same with the new Coach outlet - they are recreating their best sellers en masse specifically for the outlet store. The restaurants inside this mall suck. If you want to eat, don't bother with anything in this place unless it's a pretzel or possibly Rainforest Cafe. I had a bad experience at Rainforest Cafe, so I typically go to one of the restaurants near the mall. With the closing of this mall's FYE and Starbucks, there is little to come here for other than the higher end shops (Off 5th for example), Outdoor World, or the only major bookseller in Katy. read more

Ehh. I've seen much better malls. While this isn't at all comparable to the Galleria in Houston, it is very similar to the Ontario Mills in California. BUT, the Ontario Mills is much cleaner and has better stores and a better overall feel. This mall needs to be gutted and redone inch by inch. It feels very old and doesn't give that "let's get some shopping done" vibe. I came here on the Saturday of tax free weekend at 11am and the mall was pretty empty but was packed when I left at 5pm. My favorite store here was probably the Nike Factory and that's about it. The food court doesn't have many options but Great Wraps was tasty! Oh, try not to stop into the restrooms by the food court. I swear that public school restrooms are a upgrade from that. LOL. read more

When this place opened a zillion years ago, it was a hit with me. The stores back then would even negotiate prices if you asked, at least by 10%. Bought a beautiful Burberry jacket at NM for a 1/3 cost at the Galleria, same with DY jewelry, Arthur Court, home decor, now NM has lackluster finds, appears old inventory from 2-3 seasons ago and the prices in their catalog are oftentimes better than the mall's prices. Since I live a few feet from Katy Mills thought it would be good to grab some sheets at Bed, Bath & Beyond, store layout funky and overflowing with cowboy stuff, linens were limited in selection, the next closest BB&B is 37 miles away. The stores I frequented most, Bose, Polo, Saks, the staff appear helpful, Tommy Bahamas has a quasi-beach musician playing, clothes overpriced, they could cut the prices and we could shop tunes free. Swim attire in December the same as now, but okay. The Ralph Lauren outlet displays the majority of their rags on the floor, no staff trying to get the clothing back on the rounders, disgusting behavior on the part of the shoppers. My first and last movie was dismal, 3 people taking tickets and 2 of them playing with their headphones so only one employee was assisting 30 people in line. Where is management? Debatable, but plausible, E-bay is getting my business. The food court and kids area seemed dicey, restrooms not clean, typical of a mall, the place is dreary and weary, more like a gang magnet, similar to the decline West Oaks Mall sustained.. Capital infusion needed ASAP. Infrastructure, security and cheerfulness missing, zilch ambiance, walking is good exercise when it rains, bring your purrell and dodge those strollers and rollers. No wow factor, this mall has lost it's mojo. read more

This mall has certainly evolved since it was built. Back then, outlets were the rage, and this was essentially an outlet mall. While there are still a few outlets within (Corningware, Express, Gap) more traditional stores have filled in the gaps. Such is the lifecycle of the suburban mall. I like this place for two reasons: it's really easy to park here, so as long as you pick the right entrance it's easy to get in and out without a fuss. Also, in conjunction with some charity work I'm involved in, this mall's management is incredibly easy to work with and seems to care about the community. So I give them business when I'm ready to get my brick and mortar on. read more
