Nice mall. The layout is user friendly, lots of cool stores, and it is connected to a Bass Pro Shops.

After visiting Katy Mills today, I realized I have never given my two cents about the Katy Mills experience. This was "my mall" growing up. Fifteen years ago versus now, it is a completely different mall on the inside. It's a completely different mall on the outside, as well. And neither of those comments are intended to mean anything close to the same thing, and here's why. Katy Mills has gone through a complete change, inside and out. The Hot Topic isn't a cave any more, Earthbound is minimalist and doesn't smell like Patchouli, the teen fashion stores aren't pumping out that nauseating scent into the pathway, and every single spot in the food court has turned over except for Burger King. I knew this place when there was a Johnny Rockets and the Tilt was an FYE! I would say five to seven years ago was probably Katy Mills' lowest point, with a lot of empty store fronts and rumors of human trafficking in the parking lot. They have put in a TON of effort since then, sprucing up the inner decor and putting in classier vendors like Victoria's Secret and Coach! It's a great mall inside. But the outside of Katy Mills, to put it bluntly, is in a STATE right now. The paint is so faded, the parking lots look terrible, there is construction spray paint markers left and right, plywood boards fixed to the ground, trees ground to the stump, half the neighborhood entrances don't have the welcoming intercom any more...it needs a TON of work. I feel like they're chipping away at the whole thing all at once, but this makes the mall look absolutely decrepit. Not knowing what's inside, I would compare this mall to Greenspoint. I hope they get Katy's facelift nipped and tucked soon because it's almost embarrassing walking in there now. Katy deserves a mall that rivals The Woodlands, truly. It isn't there quite yet, but when it is, I will be happy to bequeath five stars. read more

This is a gigantic mall. We showed up at 10:30 am, which is earlier than anyone should ever go to the mall. It was before the DragonBallZ t-shirt kiosk was even open, but somehow after people had already fouled almost every toilet in the men's bathroom. It seems like more of an outlet mall with a lot of factory stores all over, but I can't imagine you wouldn't be able to find the things you're looking for. Personally, I spent most of my time at H&M waiting for my wife to try on bathing suits, but you can also find your Victoria's Secret, your Abercrombie, your Lids, your Foot Locker, your Michael Kors (look, I don't know what you're looking for...it's a mall) and at least four different places to get a smoothie. Not to mention, there was an Easter Bunny making several children sob uncontrollably. As far as I can tell though, they don't have Auntie Anne's pretzels, which is a travesty. read more

I went to the mall yesterday and got treated like sh1t when I was in Express Factory Outlet. I was looking for a pair of pants and asked one of the staff Krisha for help. She went: "I'm busy, just give me 2 mins". So I waited for at least 10mins without bothering her; she was actually doing stuff, yet I don't see how reshelving a few clothes and working on a computer with nobody in the check-out lane are more important than a waiting customer. When I finally walked up to her after 10 mins, she ignored me again and frowned at me when I ask, "Is there a problem?" Then she was like, "Do you still want the pants?" No girl, at this point you have ruined my mood of shopping and disrespected me quite enough, so I do not want those pants anymore. I quickly grabbed some clothes I picked earlier and ready to leave. Upon checking out, I told her I was simply asking for some help, and she should have treated me like everyone else; but again, I got the silent treatment. The whole experience was unbelievable. There were 3 workers in the shop yet no one greeted me or offered help. I have no one to talk to except princess Krisha. I am Asian and I sense this probably has something to do with the Asian Hatred that has been going on for a while, didn't expect to experience it firsthand here though. Very disappointed. This is a large shopping center with several retail outlets, factory stores, and regular stores in the mix. There is a movie theater (AMC), a segway experience, arcade, carousel, and play areas for kids. The parking is usually horrendous despite the humongous parking lot so avoiding the weekend crowd would be smart. The food court has the typical fast food spots and there are a few sweets and drink places located throughout the mall. The design inside is outdated and you can tell by the furniture and the floor. The worst is the restroom because it is not well maintained at all. Toilet paper everywhere and horrible odor with no staff in sight to clean it up. Stores can be a hit or miss but lines are always long. The best thing about Katy Mills is that it is an indoor shopping center unlike other outlet locations, which makes it a good place to shop when it's blazing hot out. Not much of a fan but if I'm looking specifically for a deal at a certain store I would make my way there to seek, hoping to find. read more

I remember this mall opening when I was in the 8th grade. It has slowly changed out its stores through the years so my interest in going has waned. I have wanted to take my children here for a while but with the presence of so much crime now, I probably won't take them or will only go with my husband. read more

I have been a long time customer of Off 5th - have probably spent 20k over the past few years here. Awful experience today! Tried to return a pair of shoes purchased for my son, which did not fit, and the manager decided that he didn't like the "creases " in this obviously unworn pair of shoes. When I pointed out the return policy and mentioned the creases were from trying on the shoes which were potentially defective, he did not budge. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, he gave me the "I don't have a supervisor" spiel. I thought this store to be on the higher end, but the manager of this store, wearing a tshirt and tennis shoes (unprofessional!) gave off a different vibe. Made a quick stop here when traveling into Katy Texas. I was happy happy happy when I spotted numerous shops offering 40%-50% off. There's over 150 shops. Butttttt just note all these shops are not outlets. Had a good time shopping the discounts anyway!! The mall could use an update. I was told this mall used to look like a monopoly board, but I never saw it that way. It seems like any renovations that were done did not age well. There are some portions that have carpet that is dirty and stained up. It just screams dirt and germs when I'm in that area. I get the urge to get out of that area quickly. I hope it doesn't keep shoppers from those stores. The size of this mall isn't too big either but it seems like it would be a great place to do some extra walking indoors. We had to go to this mall to catch our bus to Austin. Compare to WEM and Cross Iron, this mall is very dirty and although I heard it's an outlet mall, everything was way more expensive than Canada. We walked around for about 2 hours and to be honest I didn't like the mall and probably won't go back there unless I really have to. read more

Glad I checked Yelp and found an event at Katy Mills outlet. Katy Mills Host "Muppet Babies" - Themed Disney Junior Play Date Event. I took my toddler nephew and he had a blast. He got to jump on the jumpy, got a Mickey Mouse tattoo, his portrait taken by an artist, got two balloon swords made by clown, played a throw game and won a prize, ate chips, cookies, pizzas, sandwich and got a bag of candies. Everything was free! Afterwards, we went shopping and I scored two shoes from Nine West for under $40! There were so many sales going on throughout the outlet. There is a AMC theater , play area for kids, food court, a huge Forever 21, H&M, Gap, Old Navy, Loft, Aldo, Converse and so many more. There are plenty of parking and I love that they had designated parking for pregnant and people with small child. read more

Could use more security! There was a man following my friend and myself. I noticed him in passing we crossed through forever 21 he was behind us. I pulled my friend into rainforest cafe we had a drink then left the mall. He was waiting for us outside Burlington by the parking lot. He called my friend and handed her a note. I had my brass knuckles ready because he kept getting closer to my car. Not cool Oh and those people at the kiosk ugh you tell them you're not interested and while they're talking to you they drop soap scrub in your hands so watch out. Nice & clean, well lit. Security visible. Not as big(mile radius) which I like,so I don't get lost where I parked.

First off, some of the kiosk workers at this mall are the absolute worst. I know their job is to be annoying, but they need to take it down about 10 notches. Yesterday this guy actually stepped in front of me and blocked my path as I was walking. I shook my head no as I went around him and kept going, and he continued calling out, "can I ask you a question? Ma'am? Can I ask you a question?" Sometimes they try ridiculous flattery. (Dude, we both know I can't pass as my daughter's sister. Shut up.) Sometimes they resort to low-key negging. (Yeah, my hair is frizzy today. Because Houston.) Many kiosk workers at other malls are annoying af, but these Katy Mills dudes take things to a new level. I don't know about everyone else, but this doesn't put me in the mood to reach for my credit card. I only feel spendy when I'm relaxed, not when I'm being hassled. Aside from that, the exterior could use some work, and the food court is not great. I could live with those things, but they aren't helping. They do have some stores I like, but I'd rather spend more money and/or drive further in order to have a more pleasant shopping experience. read more

I would give it a solid 3. It's decent and large. But if you've ever been to Mall at Millenium or Tysons corner it pales in comparison. Also, I didn't realize but it's more of an outlet type of mall. It does have Rainforest Cafe and the amc movie theatre though. read more

Came here after going to Typhoon TexAs. The mini play area located inside the food court is sooooo cute. The stores there were outlet prices. My friends and I came to Texas for vacation and stopped by Katy mills to cool down from the Texas heat. But we were very happy that we did. read more

For clothes, its pretty much a big outlet mall. Most the store have ridiculous prices with huge discounts to give you a false sense of a bargain. Outlet means second chance before the clothes are shipped off to a foreign country I'm guessing. What I find most annoying is you find something you like and they only offer it XS or XXL. If you wear typical size clothes this place can be frustrating and a waste of time. Otherwise for all else none clothing, it's ok to spend a day wandering around. At least it's indoors. read more

I absolutely love this mall! There are so many shopping options! I always find a good deal. A lot of the main chain stores are outlet prices. There is also a ton of stuff for kids to do including the carousel, trackless train, a great arcade with a tilt-a-whirl inside, a movie theatre, etc. This is definitely one of my top malls and the Simon corporation gives back money to schools and helps with drop out prevention, which is definitely top notch in my book. read more

Hello to may concern I went to katy mills mall in Katy texas on day 12/23/20 To purchase a gift for my mother . I saw this stand in front of H&M store . A&A accessories that sell phone cases . The guy that helped me knew what phone I was talking about since I didn't have the phone with me , and brought out cases out to look at for that type of phone and purchased one . He said any problems you can bring it back before a week . The phone case didn't not fit and I was disappointed so went back to his stand to return it 12/29/20 . I told him it's the wrong case and like my money back . He said no can't do that when have a policy and showed me this little paper hanging .which I never saw.I said why didn't you tell me it wasn't refundable . He told he didn't have to . I felt robbed and cheated , he didn't care I felt he just wanted to make a sale . I love shopping at your mall . I love this mall because they are quiet and clean. There are many outlets factories here like Polo, Victoria secrets, Sephora...many products are great quality and super affordable prices. The parking lot are so big. However they need more police officers or security guys driving around for safety because it is too quiet outside parking lot. Also, they need to add more 24/7 cameras outside parking lot, and add more foodcourt in other sites so that we don't have to walk too far for food during shopping time. They need to build more big brand as Gucci, YSL,..outside of parking and build more 3 levels parking lot like other outlet Sawgrass mill, Cabazon mill....to attract more higher class customers. read more

It's not an outlet, It's not a mall...so what is it? It's terrible is what it is. You go to an outlet for low prices and off season stuff. You go to the mall for new hip clothes. This place has old stuff but at new prices. Their food court sucks and they don't have much entertainment value for a teenager either. This review only for new comers that only want to glance for short reviews: Round and around she goes, where you stop, only you will know. This mall is a circular pattern. It is well designed and why? Because you will end up where you started instead of walking down legs of a mall, back tracking and going through another leg. If you get tired of shopping or walking all the way back there are stores you can cut through to half your distance back to where you started. In my opinion, this is one of only very few malls that I would consider going back to everyday if I had too. I would equate this mall's goodness to The Galleria (Galleria Area), Baybrook Mall (I 45 south), Woodland's Mall (I 45 North), First Colony Mall (59 South), and Deerbrook Mall (59 North). Any other mall that is not mentioned is probably on it's slow dying death or not recommended by the masses. Parking is risky like any other mall but here it is a little more controlled. I have seen a minimum of two securities on vehicle patrol so that is a comforting thing. Still, crime goes anywhere but you are pretty safe here. This mall is easy to find, as you are driving down I 10, no matter which direction, the exit sign before warns you to the tune of something like "Katy Mills Dr.", I might be wrong but it is what I remember. Parking is huge, you will NEVER have a problem finding parking. Food court is decent and eye appealing clean. read more

While you're at Katy Mills Mall, they invite you to 'Experience the Mills Effect". Let me tell you a little about the 'Mills Effect' - I think it occurs when you go to the Katy Mills Mall for one thing and then leave 4 hours later in a shopping daze, loaded down with bags and wondering where all of your money went. In all honesty, this is one of the best outlet malls I've ever shopped. First of all, it is all inside so you don't have to get out in the heat with all of your outlet finds between stores. Even when one store closes down, Katy Mills typically has another store ready to take its place. Over the years I have seen the mall evolve but it doesn't seem to be taking a turn for the worse yet. Katy Mills is holding out well for an outlet mall of its size. Like Cory said, Off 5th and Last Call are great places to find real treasures. You really can save a lot on some amazing name brand items in these stores. Whether dressy or casual, there are stores that cover your shopping needs on a budget. That's why this place is super crowded on the weekends and parking can never be close enough. But, as much as you'll walk in this mall, you really can't complain too much about the extra hike from the parking lot. Katy Mills is like a super mall with discount powers. All the shops were new, everything was expensive and all of the doors talked to you as you walked in as if you were in Disneyland. Fast forward 10 years of deterioration, everything has now turned into the outlet version of itself and the doors no longer greet me as I enter. Hey, I'm not complaining. I find some of the best deals ever here with designer names such as Manolo Blahnik, Tory Burch, Christian Dior, Prada, Hermes, Vera Wang, Judith Leiber, Alberta Ferretti, David Yurman, Missoni, Dolce&Gabbana, Diane Von Furstenburg, Valentino and countless others that have wound their way into my collection. Every time I bring my dance teams to Houston we always stop at Katy Mills mall. They have all the stores the kids love and quite a few I can go to as well. The place has been maintained pretty well and you can walk all the shops in a loop. The food selection is weaker than I would assume, but we always have a fun time shopping around. The thing that sets this mall apart from others is having chain stores attached to it that usually aren't attached to regular shopping malls, such as Ross, Marshall's, and Bass Pro Shop. read more

Segway training course! Cool mall, so many ghetto cool kids in here, the minivan bus has been officially dropped off, or shall I say bicycles. I like this mall layout, you walk in a circle it's perfect. 4 Stars because it has a Bass pro attached, and a rainforest cafe which 2 of my favorite things. Also a cool overpriced comic book shop with no AC how could you go wrong? Also Polo outlet which has awesome staff, and the food court is a joke here with no gluten-free options. read more
