I went to the first colony mall yesterday. It is a beautiful mall. There's certain areas that feel like a sauna but from everyone being there I see why. I stopped at auntie Ann's and my experience was terrible. Meet with rude customer service. I had asked for a cinnamon sugar pretzel bites and the young lady at the counter asked me what I would do if she said no. Kept laughing still with no service for my food. I had said "isn't it your job to serve your customers?" Just don't understand the lack of good customer service. Besides that experience everything else was fine. read more

Parking is ample but sometimes you have no choice but to park a little bit far away. The mall is generally kept clean and in good conditions. Not too large nor many shops or stores but enough to kill some time and walk off your lunch. read more

This mall used to be very clean and fairly up to date; now it feels fairly old, messy, and generally out of date for a shopping experience. The main flagship stores are still there but even the Apple Store is cramped and uncomfortable. You got a Pottery Barn and then a knockoff going out of business clothing store in the same area. The thrill of walking around for fun is very 20 years ago and the mall experience is not quite the same as before. read more

This mall is pretty, but the layout is odd and the food court is super hot. Also needs anuogeade in options. Really just your basic food court options. Lots of seating. I cannot pick point it, but its just an odd mall and also has a lot of advertisements. I feel like the outside part is better than what you see i side the main building. There are a lot of shops, but nothing that really caught my eye. I wandered around in there for 2 hours. I did go to Miniso and that was pretty cool. I guess overall its just an average mall if you want to kind of shop. It does have a little bit of everything scattered about. Terrible customer service. I came in for a pickup order and multiple employees didn't know what to do. I was told to wait with no direction, then another employee approached me, and when I repeated that I had a pickup order, the associate on the floor yelled at me. Completely rude and unprofessional. This mall has a lot of stores. I love the out door mall part as well. I go for both. They have restaurants as well outside of the mall. Great place to spend shopping or just outside for quick pics. Nice selection of stores and food. read more

I watched Labrynth when I was a little kid, and I was like... oooooooh, Jennifer Connelly is hotttt! Of course now that would be inappropriate, but when you're like, 6 years old, it's okay to crush on a, whatever, 15 year old? Anyway you could say that she was the "First Connelly" for me, and now they've named a Mall after it... the First Connelly Mall. This is an indoor mall which is attached to a massive outdoor mall known as Sugar Land Town Center. Between the two of them they make one monster supermodel... I mean super mall but the supermodel sounds more interesting honestly... that basically takes up half of Sugarland lol. This indoor mall is a little bit out of date compared to the Galleria or Memorial City perhaps, but it's also pretty and expensive. It just takes a long time to walk around it because it's so enormous. So I have good things and bad things to say about it, but overall I think it's a pretty good place to get your expensive stuff and it's just annoying how much walking you have to do. read more

This feels like the average of all the malls I've ever been to. Nothing about this mall stands out as being "unique". First visit to this mall, 5 days before Christmas. Liked the festive decorations. The close parking was full but again, it was near Christmas. We parked further away but it's ok. We felt way more safe here than at the Galleria in the dark, murky, dirty parking garage. There seemed to be a decent variety of mid-level stores... not super fancy like the Galleria (Gucci, Fendi, etc.) but not scummy either. We're not high end shoppers anyways. We walked through the food court to get to the restrooms. There were a nice variety of restaurant options. It smelled lovely but we didn't have any. The mall was clean. Couches throughout the mall were comfortable. Nice to be able to sit and relax when your significant other is in a store you don't want to go in. All in all, a decent mall. Its decent but overcrowded and the chick fil a is overpriced and has poor customer service. The lululemon is pretty good as the employees are always nice and happy to help but most of the times a lot of their products are out of stock- similar to Sephora but thats expected and conmon . The restrooms usually smell and the stores such as spencers and bath and body works tend to get very warm and gives me hot flashes. Its a good mall to go and get what you need, and perhaps walk around when its less crowded such as a weekday, but there are definitely better malls within the houston area to go to. read more

I like this midsize mall. Sometimes, I stopped by here in order to take a break. The food court is okay. But it's hard to find outlets to charge a phone. There is a tea house at the food court. But it's pricey. I found a cheap gift shop near JC Penny. I found a cheap $1 soda. Thanks. AMC theater and other restaurants are located within walking distance. I love here. read more

If you want to go to a mall this isn't a bad one. It isn't very big and the parking is REALLY tough at peak times. The mall has been expanding its outdoor shopping. The expansion is nice but it ate up a lot of the parking area. Don't go at peak times (weekends). In the parking lot there are restaurants such as Cheesecake Factory, Grimaldi's pizza, Kona Grill, Black Walnut Cafe, and a gelato place.... I like the Apple store and have had great luck with the store. The stores I frequent are Coldwater creek, Barnes and Noble, Apple, Toni and Guy, Macy's, Dillards, Bath and Body Works, and the restaurants. I don't tend to walk the mall very often. I also go to the AMC movie theater which is walking distance from the mall. The best thing... Cinnabon! It's always clean as is the parking lot. I appreciate a clean mall. read more

There are a lot of nice restaurants and stores in this area but I'm not a fan of parking meters only to park? Couldnt tell you more because I didn't pay to park. There were a lot of people using the meters though. If you head across the street there are a few place with normal parking lots. This won't be my first choice to go to shop. read more

This mall is okay and it is pretty small as far as malls go. It's pretty laid back. The mall is only 1 floor, so it's stroller friendly. They have a Barnes & Noble here! I'd rather go here and avoid the crowds at the Galleria since parking is easy (as long as you don't need those fancy boutique shops. read more

I wish I could give a 0 star. I liked walking around most stores and they were very nice. But the booths in the middle of the mall are so terrible and mean. They harass people into buying products and are liars. Im a nice person and one makeup artist harassed me into buying an 80$ concealer cream. I was being nice because these people usually don't make sales but I come back to my senses to try and get a refund but she said I can't have a refund even though that is what the receipt says. She says that the receipt isn't updated but that is deceiving your customers and is illegal. She was extremely rude and almost refused me service. I was only able to get 50 dollars back but I am never coming here again. The exact booths name was Bella Torra and the girl who served me is Sara.. First Colony is an average mall and has the usual retailers inside (AF,VS, F21, etc). So it comes in handy when you want to avoid the manic Galleria traffic. I mainly use this location to make returns and exchanges. Also the only covered parking here is the mini garage outside of Dillards (women's). My only complaint is that the stores here have a very limited selection of colors and sizes. 99% of the time I'm told that the Galleria carries the item that I want. So I rarely come here with the intent to browse or shop. read more

This mall is awful. Boosted it up a star because of the food choices around the mall (not inside the mall), which is nice. I feel like it's somewhere you go to grab a bite and then loiter around the mall for like an hour after your meal. It's not that it's terribly crowded or unclean. There just aren't enough shops. Sure there's a Macy's and a Dillard's. But there's none of the other standards like Gap, JCrew, etc. All they really have for women's apparel is Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, and Express... I am updating my review to a 4 star for this mall. As a 'whole' FC has definitely improved. Sadly it has taken a pandemic to happen for the upgrades to occur. It's definitely worth a visit for the family. Have we been in quarantine for a little too long? Perhaps, however I still believe it deserves 4 stars in certain areas. I went to this mall to specifically visit the Pandora store. I'll give this review as a whole for the entire mall. Masks must be worn at all times (everywhere right now). There are several stations for hand sanitizer set up throughout the mall. Great idea! Social distancing exists, but I don't think it really needs to be enforced. There is hardly anybody there. Most stores have a 15 capacity customer limit. Some stores are 5 or 6. This doesn't work for a large family, so only one of us went in some stores. Perfectly ok with me. Health being put first is a great priority. All the stores appeared to be open and there were more stores open than the last visit. I don't think all the stores are appropriate. Some seem to be a little too risky to take the children by. (Think displays you may see on stores driving down Westheimer.) I think the displays could be scaled back as it is not necessary. Although maybe it is, so you can keep your family out of there? I think someone nailed it with photos in another review. They posted photos. Sorry- my hands weren't exactly free to take photos. There are no massage stations set up, but the massage place by JCP is still open. (Not that I would go.) Most stores seem to be operating and there are more stores to shop at. Even a Starbucks inside the Macys! Yes, there are still a few kiosks with the scary sales people that chase you down. We do all have to understand that we must work together to get through this crazy world- but I'm still not stopping. Overall- this mall has changed for the better and if you haven't visited, then by all means try it again. Just be patient as they do strictly enforce how many people can go in each store. Worked at multiple stores in first colony ranging from food court to sales floor & really in all reality unless you're looking to go buy some channel or Louis Vuitton this in my opinion is literally the best mall to casually go shop at !! The galleria is hella overrated & the only thing it has on first colony are more options/convenient choices within the mall , it's a lot bigger & more high end but like I said just for some casual shopping & great customer service this mall is a great place ! Mostly everyone who works in this mall is hella cool & down to earth , it's really easy to get acquainted with most of the people who work in this mall very quickly. Shopping Malls.... Back when my family first moved to Texas, we thought they were the coolest places to hang out at as a supplement to our otherwise ordinary lives. Our eyes were bedazzled with large, multi-storied department stores, plethora of smaller shops garnished the spaces in between, food courts with different types of foods for everyone, video arcades that kids lose their allowances in, movie theaters complete the whole experience. Then, we got used to them, and I guess things just got meh, because frankly, we had department stores back where we came from too. In the end, it's probably because we missed them so much as most of our focus when first moving here was to pick up on the language and the lifestyle here. Any way, years back before much of Sugar Land have developed, there were mostly large empty spaces next to Highway 59, and when people learned about developers planning to put in a shopping mall on the between the spaces of US59 and what is now Lexington Blvd. They got really excited or really agitated and went up in arms because they think it's an agent to drive up the local crime rate. Well, not really in arms, but I did hear about a petition going up against it. Although, now that I thought about it, the petition could've been against the movie theater that eventually took up residence next to it (not directly connected) a few years later.... I forgot. Any way, back to First Colony Mall, the Mall that got built on the backside of the subdivision I grew up in. Like most other malls, it is made up by a few large tenants (namely the huge department stores like JCPenny, Dillard's, Macy's) and linked up individual stores in between. Most of the large ones stayed, with the exception of Foley's which eventually got bought and changed to Macy's and one of the Dillard's stores got recently changed to a Dick's Sporting Goods. The inside stores are the ones that changed more frequently with some of the more popular ones that stayed. There is a Food Court, which is hardly something to get excited about, it's mall food. But there is a Chick Fil-A there, which I consider to be highlight of the food court. Throughout the hallways between the department stores and in front of the different shops, there are individual kiosks that sells miscellaneous items scattered throughout, which often change occupancy. One of the most frequent knocks against FCM is the list of shops they have aren't really hip or chic like the Galleria, which is apparent by the difference in size, space, and traffic. If there is one thing I don't mind going to First Colony Mall is that if I can go there and get my occasional shopping done, then I won't have to go to the Galleria and fight the traffic and parking there. Of course, my wife will have the great coincidences and preferences of liking to shop at stores that are "Not" in First Colony Mall, one of which is J. Crew. Over the years, there are more shops that came around, not necessarily inside the mall, but rather around it, one such example is the Barnes & Noble, which is a nice, quite alternative environment to the otherwise noisy mall atmosphere. Another are restaurants like Cheesecake Factory taking up residence close by. The fact that the Sugar Land Town Center is a few minutes away is also quite good. A few years back before all these neighbors, most of the time FCM looked pretty empty to the point where sometimes I wonder if it will survive or not. My only hope is that the traffic will still remain manageable and that some of my wife's go-to stores would move in here so I don't have to go to the Galleria with her when we go shop. read more
