However, it was not accessible as there was construction that was going on at the entrance, so I could not enter this way. I parked on the street with metered parking. Several of my teammates and I travelled to Houston to watch the Red, White, and Roar International Lion Dance Championships and it was INCREDIBLE! POST Houston is so hecking cool, boasting several great spots for photo ops, a Market with some absolutely delectable looking food, a rooftop park and garden, and so much more. I could easily imagine several reasons for visiting this venue, big event or none. Despite everything it has going for it, I did note a few drawbacks specific to this competition. The first notable issue was getting to a restroom. Because of the way the performance space was allocated and set up (it essentially blocked off a main atrium in the POST), we had to go outside and re-enter the building in a different location to access the bathrooms. While it was confusing at first and kinda sucked every time we needed to go, it was doable. The second only real complaint I had was with actually viewing the competition. Other than rows of chairs where it was difficult to see around the backs of other people's heads, there were two sections of risers for audience members to sit, though one was partially blocked by the building's pillars. If you weren't on the 'good risers' it was actually easier to see if you stood off to the side of the main stage, which in turn clogged the atrium even more and added to the accessibility issue as mentioned earlier. The emcee even had to periodically ask people to find different viewing points because it became an issue. Naturally this left the stairs behind the main stage to stand on to get a view as good as, if not better than, the Good Risers. The drawbacks here were that you couldn't hear as clearly, and, just like with the Good Risers, if you didn't get there fast enough or weren't waiting in the wings for someone to leave, you were kinda screwed. Truly this place was so cool, and if it wasn't for the spacing issue of the competition I would've given it 5 Stars. Parking wasn't too bad, it was easy to get food, the restrooms were consistently clean for the entirety of the 10 hours I was there, and architecturally it was just awesome. I have almost no doubts that the next time I visit, it'll be a 5 Star experience.

When I started my associates degree I would come here too since Houston Community College is right across the street from it. I am happy to see that this small grocery store is still standing. Although this grocery store is small, it carries a variety of products. It has poke bowls, rice bowls, sushi, and bento boxes for you in case you do not have time to prepare a meal. Nippon Daido also carries a large variety of beverages that are very known in Japan. They also carry different kinds of beer from Japan and sake as well. Everyone is obsessed with matcha right now and I saw they had a different variety of matcha. I myself am a fan of tea. Theu even have different kinds of tea that I hope to try all of them one day. If you are not a fan of tea, I also noticed they had different kinds of coffee. This grocery store also carries a good variety of Japanese candy. We have all seen and heard about the different kinds of KitKat, well, this place carries them. I ended up buying the milk tea KitKat and it a nice delight of a flavor. I noticed that this place carries stuff to do hot pot and barbeque items in the frozen section. Japanese ice cream is carried too like taiyaki vanilla ice cream and red bean ice cream. I myself am a big fan of Kirby and noticed they had a Kirby cup. As much as I wanted to buy it, I had to pass up on it today since I own too many Kirby items. They also carried some Sanrio items but a lot of kitchenware without any design. What I like about this grocery store is the fact they had origami paper and Japanese notebook if you wanted to practice writing in hiragana or katakana. I used to buy those notebooks when I was practicing learning how to write and understand Japanese. In the same section they had very adorable toothpicks to make your own bento box. Something new I saw was that this grocery store has its own little sweet shop called Sweets Oyatsu. I tried the strawberry matcha latte and from I am seeing their famously own strawberry mochi. When I tell you the strawberry mochi is to die for! It has a very sweet flavor coming from the strawberry itself with a hint of sweet red bean. The chewiness of the mochi made the experience even better. The strawberry matcha latte was pretty good. You could really taste the sweetness of the strawberry and the slight bitterness of the matcha. I grew up in Alief my whole life. Nippon Daido is a hidden gem that Alief has in Houston. This small grocery store really brings the Japanese culture closer to home. I always like supporting small local businesses and as much as I do not visit this area anymore.
