In town visiting and needed to visit another location for one of my favorite stores. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at Meyerland Plaza. A mix of affordable, everyday brands with some more higher priced brands and restaurants. The entire family can shop in the Plaza. I did however find the Ross to be quite paltry given the size and location of the plaza. read more

It is a plaza doing business here. No need to wallow in the Meyer...land. This is a massive shopping mall with a lot of great stores. Meyerland has become a regular destination for us even though it's a little bit low rent and a little bit rough around here, however this new plaza looks shiny and new and posh. It's an adaptation of the old plaza, but a very good one. There are some great new stores, and it's been remodeled, and there's a lot of good reasons to come here, such as the Ross and especially the JoAnn which Barbi loves. Meyerland is not often seen as a shopping destination, but Meyerland Plaza might have something to say about that. As one of the city's larger shopping centers, it is home to a number of massive department stores (#1) that would give malls a run for their money. It's been here for nearly 70 years and despite some semi-recent closures (#1), this is a bonafide place where folks are spending money. Some of those stores include Marshall's, Ross Dress For Less, JCPenny, Old Navy, Office Depot, Target, Dick's Sporting Goods, EoS Fitness, and a humungo H-E-B. There's an additional strip of chains with Five Below, PetSmart, Lane Bryant, Pet Supermarket, and a Talbot's. Conveniently, there are also banks near by: PNC and Bank of America. (#3) Food and drink options aren't that exciting, but they do have some variety from fast food to sit down spots. These include Chick-Fil-A, Saltgrass Steakhouse, James Coney Island, La Madeleine, Starbucks, Akiko Sushi Bar, Escalante's, Beck's Prime, Firehouse Subs, and Sharetea. If I had to pick one out of the bunch, it'll be Akiko (#4) Parking isn't a problem here. I've never seen the lot full, even on weekends. Because it's an open lot, there isn't a lot of shade, which makes this a brutal place to park the vehicle during hot weather days. I find myself here more often because I don't have to fight crowds and I know I can mostly get what I want in a reasonable amount of time. ___________ (#1) Like anywhere in America: chain city. This is absolutely one of the WORST places to shop in Houston. It's always under construction. I don't think building or renovating can save this place. I have been to this place since the 90's. Back then it was awesome. Now it's a place where the rejected stores and employees go to ... you connect the dots. Sure they have nice stores- but they are most likely the bottom tier stores. The stores we did visit need maintenance. We didn't bother visiting anymore. The parking lot needs repair. They could also use some signs indicating closures. It doesn't seem like a safe place to go. We went to a few stores. We decided not to visit the ones that appeared to be closing down- they all seem run down and going out of business. There were also a few sketchy people just hanging out in the parking lot. More than the usual for this part of town. Nope, this is not a safe place to shop. Oh, wait I said that already. The place is very nice, especially around the holidays, with a lot of nice stores to choose from. I must warn you that it will get very busy during holiday season. My main concern though is that I'm every time I come here, I always find my phone having very slow connection and buggy connection. They need better coverage over here if they're going to have so many stores here. Overall, it's worth shopping over here. read more

One of the best shopping plazas EVER. Every store is not to expensive and they have many restaurants. They even have a HOSPITAL. Their Marshalls is very nice. Every store is very clean and the service is very nice. Most of the stores are opened later then usual. Will go again read more

Contrary to another recent review I see here, this shopping mall is wonderful. It is definitely not always under construction. I've lived a block away for most of my life, so needless to say I frequent this place weekly. Very safe, kid friendly, all the stores are very busy(in a good way-- this means they're always clean too!) and it's beautiful around the holidays!! Every store I visit has a lot of kind, helpful employees. My favorite places to eat are probably La Madeleine and Saltgrass. Cafe Express is alright too, beautiful inside. I love that there are so many different things in ONE place! It's a one stop shop for me. Clothing shopping, electronics, baby stuff, books, movies, music, nails salon(s) (yes multiple), a pet store, massages, hair salon, professional photographers, yoga!! jewelry, dining, discount stores, even groceries at the target!!! ANDDDD there's even going to be a new H-E-B here and everyone i know is SUPER excited. The new parking structure looks like it's gonna be great. There is even a flippin' hospital in this shopping mall guys, like seriously they have everything. Don't even hesitate. A++ read more
