it's like a regular mall, but SUPERSIZED. it takes 5 times longer to walk to the next store. it takes 10 times longer to cover the mall. it has a movie theater. it has a food court. it has department stores. it's organized by demographic - kiddy stores like gymboree outlet, arcade games, gaming and toy stores clumped together. raging teenager stores like vans outlet, hot topic, charlotte russe are clumped together. yuppie wannabes can peruse the juicy couture outlet, saks off 5th, and neiman marcus last call, and ralph lauren store. for an out of towner with nothing to do in katy, this place did the trick for killing 6 hours of free time! but just like most treasures, you have to look hard to find the good stuff! A good mall, I can't deny it. They have several good children's stores - Chlidren's place, Carter's, and Gymboree. They also have a Gap outlet store, and their jeans really are less expensive than the regular Gap store. I've found the prices in Victoria's Secret to be the same, or higher, than non-outlet stores. There's a decent Marshall's, and an acceptable Rain Forest Cafe. Frederick's of Hollywood needs some better quality stuff. Old Navy is the messiest store I've ever seen, and the employees are unhelpful. I bought a few items at Justice for my niece, and that store was run by the most unprofessional employees ever - talking about each other, and complaining about the work. I LOVE the Coach outlet. Their prices are less than the Coach store at Memorial City, so this is one of my favorites. The food court is pathetic. Just about everything I've had has been awful, so I'd avoid it. The Sunglasses Hut has some nice things. The quality of this mall varies from one store to the next, so you'll just have to visit and see what you like. Overall, I recommend it. read more

I feel bad because I just don't share the love of this place that other reviewers do. First off, the mall is built in a circle, which is ok, except that it gives off the impression that the mall is a lot larger than it is. Also, there are a bunch of off the wall, no name stores that fill space in between stores that you may or not have heard of. The color-scheme turns my stomach. Orange, red, blue, orange, red, blue over and over again. Honestly, unless you live close by, I just don't see the reason to come here. If you've never been to Katy Mills I think you're definitely missing out! This place is ginormous so bring your walking shoes and maybe even some bottled water. I love this mall because of the Outlet stores. The Ralph Lauren Polo is a factory outlet store and I LOVE the prices. Also there is a Marshalls and Burlington. I can shop for my whole family and not go bankrupt lol. I want to drive to Texas City to go to the Tanger Outlet because I heard about the stores they have there but the thought of the drive always makes me end up at Katy Mills. Katy Mills is a gigantic mall. Lots of stores, many types of stores and it's an outlet mall. First off, I never have been a big "outlet" person. Call me snobby (I'm not!), but it's just not my thing. However, this mall isn't your typical outlet center. There actually are decent quality items here and styles that are newer than ten years ago. True, some of the stores are pretty gaudy, but some are quite decent. The good: Coach, Forever 21, 3D Toys and Games, Sanrio and Off 5th (a few decent items here). I didn't shop at all the stores so I can't say for everything here. I was very surprised at the Coach store. I was honestly expecting to find that the tacky and loud colored rejects had ended up here. I was wrong. Yes, there were some handbags that were too "colorful" for my taste, but there were also some very nice and good bags of print and solid colors. The prices are less than you would pay at a department store but the quality is there. I did not eat at the food court but passing through it I saw that it's the typical variety/types of food usually found in all malls. Nothing outstanding and nothing I'd particularly run to. This area was very crowded but overall seemed clean for such a crowd. There were a couple of kids' play areas, which is a good idea. One of the cutest is the little area that has "hamster balls" for the kiddos to play in. You got it, those clear balls that you can safely put your hamster into so he can safely roam the house and get exercise. The children there were rolling around in these little balls and having a great time. How cute is that? Love it! Not a bad experience here at all. I'm sure I will come to this place again. read more

I don't like to shop and am relatively new to mall-shopping. I use to go as a kid but as an adult I avoided them as I hate crowds and the idea of having to rummage through a bunch of different stores to find what I need is just not that appealing. Then I found the segway park and everything rolled from there! I discovered the movie theater with it's cool soda fountain machine and comfy seating. I found the Nike Outlet with it's reasonably priced tennis shoes (well at least the ones on clearance). Then the rock climbing wall and book store and mini-amusement park, and the original cookie company and BAM! I was hooked! I'm sure this place gets crowded around the Holidays which I will avoid but every time we've gone this summer, it's been an sparse crowd. I've yet to even venture through the entire mall yet but am looking forward to seeing a little bit more every time we go. read more

Wow, this mall really has improved since I moved into the area a few years back. They have great new shops, more entertainment areas, more rest areas, and did I mention the awesome selection of stores? (Lauren N. refers to Katy Mills as her birth control). minus. you have a balanced combination of "trendy mall stores" and random outlets. plus. you close way too early (9 o clock? what? where are the teenagers going to loiter?!) minus. you are located close to my home. Sweet. Don't have to make a road trip to buy some tanktops. Plus. the selection of stores has changed alot through the years, right now it really is a decent mix. it's a great place to shop for a gift, or pick up a cinnabon. I am a fan of this indoor outlet/mall. The mall is designed like a racetrack and walking a full lap is approx. one mile and the food-court is smack in the middle. There many entrances but I like coming in through Last Call NM or Off 5th. They have a variety of stores that caters to different types. You have the stores that cater to the sports fanatics like Nike Outlet or Bass Pro Shops. There's stores like "Off 5th or Last Call Neiman Marcus" for those hoping to score on some designer bargains. They also have Polo Ralph Lauren outlet store which I am a huge fan of. It can be a hit or miss trip depending on when you go. I was able to score some awesome deals before. Other stores include Kate Space Outlet, Hollister/Abercrombie Outlet, H&M, Old Navy Outlet, Forever 21, Banana Republic Outlet, J. Crew Outlet, Victoria's Secret, Marshalls, Ross, Books A Millions, Guess, Tommy Hilfiger Outlet, Bath & Body Works Outlet, Bed Bath and Beyond, etc. CONS - Limited Food court options - Bathrooms can be untidy and dirty, they look old and just worn down by age, they could use a renovation PROS - indoors with A/C; Houston summers are no joke - big parking lot - big variety of shops I agree with one of the reviews, I would love to see a Nordstrom Rack here! read more

The mall is very nice inside, too bad the stores suck. You will either find really expensive stores or small stores where you will not find anything. I still don't understand what keeps this mall in business because the few times I've gone, it has been practically empty. read more

One of my favorite stores here is Bath and Body Works. You can get wonderful candles for 75% almost all of the time. It's best to time it after the normal Bath and Body Works locations have a sale. They send all of their unsold items to this outlet location. read more

Hadn't been to Katy Mills in awhile. Stores still ok- not quite a mall, not quite an outlet. Two things stuck out. Yes, it was a very hot summer day and so many more people, including groups of kids were wandering the mall. There was no visible security and kids were loud and in the way of people trying to shop. It made it difficult and a bit uncomfortable. The second thing was maintenance. I always thought Katy mills was fairly clean and well kept. The parking lot was full of trash- bottles, cups, fast food bags and napkins- very noticeable and unexpected. The restrooms in the mall were also nasty- just plain gross. For paying customers, these two things will cause me not to return. read more

I have shopped all over and this mall is one of the worst malls I've ever been to. First of all,it's very DIRTY - Dirty diapers in the parking lot, trash and dirt on the floor inside the mall and filthy bathrooms. I never see anyone cleaning, picking up debris or sweeping, which is a must... Next, the mall is an outlet mall, but it's set up like a regular mall... With very limited outdoor access... When you do finally enter the very dirty outlet mall, it feels like you are walking into the 1990's... I think that's the last time it's been updated (or cleaned). When you enter the mall, you'll find a very limited number of nice stores.... Overall very disappointing... read more

WOW!! Where do I start. Katy Mills during Christmas it the most fun. All the children play grounds and fun at the food court. Riding the train was so much fun, and riding the toys was just as much fun also. The movie theater is great too. Especially Santa during Christmas is was so nice to see him. Bring your family to see Santa take your picture, do some shopping and have lots of fun. There thing to do for all ages. read more

The stores are overly priced and the quality of the items sold are not too good. There are some stores that do have good quality items but alot of the other stores are outlets and some off brand items. The one thing I noticed as I walked through out the mall was how dirty and littered it was. I did not notice any cleaning staff and if may be because of the mall is so big but I walked around it twice and still none. The black mold that lines the service corridors is disgusting. The general manager of the mall is mediocre at best. The people the mall attracts is not what it was 10 years ago. I used to marvel at how upbeat and "cool" the mall was. It was a great place to hang out and watch movies, with the occasional shopping. Now all it has is hoodlums and run down stores trying to make the exorbitant rent Simon charges. Also, the fact they are now open 365 days a year is down right shameful. Have some decency and if stores are forced to be open, then the management office needs to be open too. read more

I think "Simon" has done a fantastic job of turning this mall around since we moved here 11 years ago. I do admit that the restrooms need help but that is my ONLY complaint! Hats off to Simon - I LOVE this mall! Only place I shop and I am not an online shopper so if I need something, I go to Katy Mills. Now if Simon would just buy the West Oaks Mall! I've been coming here for many years now, it's a great place to come and shop and find some good deals. I like coming here to the movies too. I love that everything is located under one roof, so I don't have to go to many different places to get what I need. The also have a great place to get a massage here, called Bamboo Massage, the women working there are amazing. read more

This is a nice mall that is cleaner and more varied in stores than West Oaks and Memorial City. The size is just right, don't listen to people who say there's so much walking to do, they're probably the ones who have inner thighs that rub together when they walk *hint hint*. Notable stores are Off the 5th, and Last Call. The prices are pretty good but for those who truly want their designer stuff, it doesn't truly hit the spot. This feels more for teenagers who want to look like they go to Marc Jacobs but on $100. My personal favorite places are the movie theater and that stretch of awkward stores near there starting with the Asian bubble tea station, it's the one thing in Katy that makes me see diversity. haha. read more

It's a really outdated mall. The design and construction and layout has not been updated in a very long time. There is still decades old carpet in parts of the walkways and outdoor decoration from the 90's. The stores inside, man. They are either not good mom and pop shops, crappy outlet stores, or really low level cheap brand stores. The people-nothing but huge tacky family's everywhere and punk ass high school kids. Back in the days I would come here maybe like two times a year, but that was when I lived on the north side of town. Now since I live out in the burbs, this is the closest mall to me. Can definitely get pretty crowded on the weekends. Finding close parking has never really been an issue for me. I like that the mall is circular... it's really a good stroll if you want to get some exercise in. Once in a while they have really good sales at Gap and Old Navy. Lots of stores for the kiddos as well as higher end shops for the bougie folks. I like that they have my favorite pretzel place. Wetzel's Pretzels! Get some! read more

It's close and a cheap day of fun for the kids and good exercise for me. I have my go-to stores in this mall, like the Kate Spade store and the H&M. My kid loves to eat at the Rainforest Cafe. My family and I are here often just to hang out as well. We also like the AMC theater at this mall. read more

I'm not sure what the big deal is about Katy Mills Mall. Yeah, it's big and it's got lots of stores. I guess that's cool. It does have tons of parking and it's an outlet mall so the prices are a little cheaper than what you might find at another mall. Mostly we go there just to walk. It's all one floor and it's circular so that makes it nice for taking a stroll and getting some steps in. read more

This a pretty decent outlet mall. Not every store is exactly an outlet with outlet prices but still pretty reasonable. The food court is pretty bad and the mall itself is kind of dark and dreary. The outlets in cypress is a much better choice read more
