Katy Busy Bee was my latest attempt to get honey bees removed from my residence. They'd made a lovely hive inside the eaves of my second story house.....and then swarmed this year to make a second one a few feet away (also in the eaves of my house!) I've had everyone from beekeepers to exterminators 'remove' the hive, and every year they come back JUST after my one year warranty expires. Thoughtful of the little pests, isn't it? :P What I love about Katy Busy Bee is that they provide a lifetime warranty. So if the bees come back, so will Mark at no charge. Honestly, it's the only reason I chose them since they are a bit more expensive than average. But you also get what you pay for. Their repair work was exceptional compared to what past people had done in the same spot, and that will save me from having to call out my handyman to fix shoddy work. Basically in the end, I came out even there. I will update this review if the bees come back and Mark doesn't honor his warranty. But for once I'm quite hopeful that I won't see the bees next year. I wanted to add that while his work is awesome, Mark (and I) both weren't great at communicating by phone. He could use a professional appointment setter. It took awhile to get an actual date set up, so keep trying if you call/text him and don't get a good answer at first. Also payment by debit didn't seem to be an option, but credit card was, if that's of importance to anyone. I was highly recommended Katy Busy Bee after I discovered bees entering through gaps in the siding in my house. When I called them, the first available appointment was almost 3 weeks away, which I was a bit disappointed. However, Frances assured me that the bees won't cause damage to my house as they need structure. When they came, the bee removers looked over and explained to me in detail what was going on, and how they were going to remove them. They were very professional and delicate from start to finish. Since the siding came off intact and everything went to plan, they didn't charge me for repairs, only the removal service. I definitely was impressed and the family came out to check out the honeycombs and were amazed. I wasn't expecting the hive to be this big, but the bee removers told me that is a typical size for a month old hive. They were gentle with the honeycombs and even gave us they parts that contained honey. I discovered a bees swarming and entering into the eves of my home! I am highly allergic to bees; I will have an Anaphylactic Shock from just one sting! I contacted Mark Lockhart and even though it was very early Sunday morning, he was very kind and spent quite allot of time educating me about bees and their behavior. Mr. Lockhart was going to come and remove and move the hive, but my neighbor had called an exterminator who just sprayed chemical poison to kill the bees. Mr. Lockhart explained to me that when the chemicals dissipate, I might see other bees 'robbing' the hive and also insects will be attracted to the honey. The wax will damage the wood, all because it was not done by a professional. If I encounter future problems with this, I will call Mr. Lockhart to help. I respect the fact that he took great care and time to teach me about the secret life of bees and I really wanted to save them and not see them killed like the exterminator did. This is the second time we have had bees in our soffit area in the last few years. Terminex subcontracted to Katy Busy Bee, Mark contacted me shortly after the estimate and came out when requested. I have no problem giving these folks 5 stars, given the time they spent, the equipment they bought, the thoroughness of the job, the guarantee they give, etc. Mark smoked the second floor area, cut out the soffit, vacuumed up all the bees into a transport container (they will live to make honey another day), removed the honeycomb/honey and debris, cleaned the area, stuffed with insulation so that they cannot return and painted the board and reinstalled. All of this while wearing a beekeeper outfit 20 feet off the ground. It was pretty amazing. This is the way to go if you have bees in your house; the bees are saved and your house is secured! read more

These people are the BEST! We had a hive on the 2nd story and had called 2 different companies, set up appointments and both companies were a no show. We called Katy Busy Bee and so glad we found this company. They are truly professional. Mark deconstructed the area, removed, cleaned, inserted an insulation in the void areas and repaired the area using the same materials he removed and you can not even tell there was work done. And they are extremely reasonably price. I really like the flat fee rate (for everything except the repairs) and the repair rate is also extremely reasonably priced. Excellent job. Bees are gone! First and foremost Mark was courteous and polite and very professional. He called with great information on what he would be able to do to remove the hive that was discovered by our pest control service. Because we had communicated by cell phones he even sent pictures to show what he had to remove from the house. After he removed the hive he was able to make the repairs himself. All of this, of course, after I had been given a quote for his services. He answered every question I had, which was very nice. We were completely satisfied with his service and expertise. How refreshing to find Katy Busy Bee! I called Katy Busy Bee yesterday upon learning we had honey bees in the attic. Mark and Dakota came out today. They were here when they said they would be here, they quickly located the very large hive in the soffit of the second story of our home, and they removed the hive, the honey, and about 10,000 bees. They completed the repairs the same day, their work is guaranteed, and, as a bonus, they were super nice! I don't typically recommend people or companies because of the subjectivity involved in the opinions of others, but I won't hesitate to recommend Katy Busy Bee. Mark was extremely helpful and explanatory over the phone, even before he arrived. He performed a thorough, non-intrusive search to pinpoint the elusive nest. During his work, I learned that one of my neighbors also used Mark for bee removal and gave Mark a ringing endorsement. Mark took the time to explain bee behavior and other useful information about the insects. As Mark predicted, the straggler bees disappeared after a week and haven't returned. I have used Mark to help on our rental property repairs twice lately. All went very well and highly recommended. One is for the window drain clean and the other is for the AC drain leak. He was able to pin point and trouble shoot successfully. To me he is very knowledgeable and honest about what he can do and what his limit is at. I will continue to use him in future. Called Mark and luckily he was able to come out the same day! He is a very nice guy and knows a lot about bees. I asked him if I could watch and he gave me a hood to wear so I would not get stung. It is hard to find honest and hard working people in this day and time, but Mark is one of the greatest. He fixed our problem and I would tell anyone that is looking for him to do something for them, they will be getting the very best. We had a bee problem and decided that we did not want to kill them. Hired Mark and Katy Busy Bee to get rid of a swarm of bees that had taken up residence under some exterior siding in north Katy. Mark arrived on time and was able to remove the siding, remove the honey comb, and vacuum up most of the bees. Everything was put back nicely, and two days later all bees are now gone. Hi Mark did a great job with the leaking faucet in our bath tub today. I was happy that it worked perfectly after removing the old cartridge and replaced with a new one which he himself went and got it from stores.
