Katrina is my favorite massage therapist and I have recommended her many times word of mouth. I have now experienced the styles of probably ten different massage therapists but Katrina outshines them. I myself prefer deep tissue. She seems to know exactly the right amount of pressure because I have not felt that it was too much or too little at any point. It's so refreshing not to have to ask for something different than what I am receiving - I can just let go and enjoy. I don't really know how she does it but it must be that she is naturally gifted. Not only that (very important quality) but she is also creative and rhythmic (it might be because she is a dancer). This is exceptionally helpful to quickly relax and extremely pleasurable. She incorporates movement very effectively and seems to draw from a deep well of technique, with some approaches I have never experienced with other massage therapists. I do recommend her wholeheartedly above any other massage therapist I have experienced (although I will not name names here). Katrina is a truly gifted massage therapist-she is one of those people who was born with the innate gift of healing touch and an intuitive knowing of what someone's body needs. Katrina is amazing. I have been to many practitioners over the years. What I love about Katrina's style is that she truly listens. I cannot lie on my stomach. Katrina accomodates this, rather than shaming me or telling me that she cannot accomodate me. Before she begins, she always takes a few moments to just check in with my body. While she is familiar now with where I tend to become "locked up", Katrina really treats each session as its own experience, with the knowledge that just because my body really needed left forearm emphasis last time doesn't mean that that will be exactly the case this time. The two things I value most in a massage experience is a practitioner who I feel comfortable communicating with, and who has a really compassionate and confident connection with the work they do. Katrina nailed both of those. I had an issue with the neck rest and with the amount of pressure she used, but both times I spoke up, she accommodated my needs and checked in with me. This has not always been my experience in massages and I think is an undervalued skill. I also had a broken foot and she did wonders for my legs and joints and releases a lot of tension. I got up from the table and floated out out. I would highly recommend Katrina and her very present and skillful care. Katrina puts my body at ease from the moment she places her hands on me. That first touch puts me into "Ah, yes" mode, and it only gets better. She feels where I am tense and works her magic to allow me to release whatever tension I am holding. Katrina has a very soothing and intuitive touch. My massage included a lot of different styles and techniques to get to the results that we were going for. I went in with intense tightness in my left shoulder, and some over all soreness. I left with a loose and nourished feeling body and full range of motion restored to my left shoulder.
