Honest review: I was so excited when I found out that they finally opened. I always drive by here when I go to the base to check if they're open yet, and finally! However, I was a little disappointed. First off, the price is a little too much, I think. That whole plate is 18 dollars and some change (including tax). Everything on this plate is sweet. With the chicken adobo, I feel like it's lacking the authentic filipino adobo taste. I know you can make it in different ways, but it just tastes sweet like oyster sause or something sugar. The caldereta was the best tasting out of this plate. The entire meal, however, needs some salt and pepper. The pansit, I'm not crazy about the noodles that they used here, it's not the "translucent" kind. This one seems like to have a rubbery texture to it. The rice I didn't order because it looked so sticky and stuck together, all clumped up. There wasn't very much of a selection as far as entree. But then again, they just newly opened, so they might come up with some more soon! The store is nice and clean. They even have a little section for snacks if you're craving for some. The slushy I was excited to try but wasn't ready at the time. The staff are nice and friendly. Will I come back here? Yes, I'll give it another shot. read more

I was looking forward to coming here when I found out they were opening a sit down restaurant, but was disappointed. I've been following them on Instagram and was very impressed with the menu they had for vendor events, but I was let down here. I've come here twice, once for breakfast and another time for lunch to give this restaurant a fair review. The first time I came here, it was before breakfast ended at 10:30am. I was disappointed to not even see half of what the extensive breakfast menu says they offer. There was only beef tapa, chicken and pork tocino. I would've had to wait 30 minutes if I wanted longanisa, keep in mind breakfast was about to be done serving and it wasn't ready. The serving size of the silog was unequal since there was so much rice given for such little meat. The garlic rice was also noted to be very mushy and wet. I also came across the issue that their cashier system wasn't ready to accept credit or debit cards, so I was asked to use venmo, zelle or pay with cash. I didn't appreciate the use of a money app at a restaurant as it can be inaccessible to some customers. I was let down by my first time here, so I came here again in hopes of redeeming it. This time I came for lunch way after 11:30am to ensure that food would be prepared. There wasn't many options to choose from, since breakfast items were still out. The serving size and price for 2 entree combinations plate was decent. Unfortunately, the one entree plate was mainly rice which doesn't translate to the $13.99 price. Another downside would be that combination plates offer the choice of rice or Pancit, but Pancit wasn't available to choose from. The tasty items I had were the sisig and Tortang talong, but would have to pass up on the bony kare Kare and chewy, fatty beef tapa. I also tried the halo halo, but it wasn't memorable as it was mainly milk, melted ice and didn't have many jelly toppings. As for the inside of the restaurant, it is spacious and clean. There are a couple tables out for dining in. There are many Filipino snacks and merchandise to look at and purchase. The staff I interacted with is friendly, but take their time when serving. I may have to revisit this restaurant in a few months when things are more consistent, but in the meantime I will not be coming back. read more

I really want this place to succeed but... I had to leave twice because I was waiting for someone to be at the front and no one is here. I can hear what sounds like dishes being washed by someone in the back. Waited patiently for ten minutes. Even called out hello but no response. Might need to get something more than some bells at the front door if people are not gonna be at the cash register. As for the food it is okay. Sisig is decent. You can read the other reviews about it. Longanisa is flavorful. Everything is precooked and then microwaved to reheat. I'll give it one more shot. Being half Filipino and never learned to cook Filipino food it's hard to find a good Filipino restaurant for the food I miss especially in the local area. read more

I tried this place at Foodieland Night Market in Sac at Cal Expo. I was stoked to try some lumpia. And this place was from my hometown of Fairfield so what's not to love? 707, represent! $9 for 15 lumpia. Hell yeah. We made the purchase and was handed a little cardboard container featuring 15 tiny lumpia a little bigger than penne pasta but nowhere near what a regular lumpia eater is used to. There was also a dipping sauce. My significantly better half and I tried them. WTF? They tasted like nothing. I'm sure there was a filling inside them but we couldn't tell. They tasted like fried lumpia wrappers. That was it. Couldn't taste any kind of filling. There we sat eating penne lumpia that tasted like sadness. Based on these lumpia there's no way i'd visit the restaurant in Fairfield. Why? For more disappointment? Epic fail. And I love lumpia. read more

I was excited when I saw this place open-been seeing it in the works for sometime. The positives are a family run business, with very kind people. A military discount. Clean and seating both inside and outside. Today I ordered pork tonico and they didn't have pancit so instead had this other noodle dish. Sadly noodles were mushy and luke warm. The pork was better but not something I would order again. I was really hoping to have liked this restaurant as it is so close to work. Cute little fil cuisine place. Food is great, def a taste of home. Here for education at mare island and although the drive to Fairfield is about 30 min the food does not disappoint. I ordered a two item plate with garlic rice ($16.99 + tax). I also got her calamansi slush ($5 + tax). The kare kare was scrumptious and of course you cannot go wrong with tortang talong. Def will go back and try other items on the menu! Her service was also great and she was so sweet and nice! I deduct a star because of the distance, kind of out by the afb, and idk if it's the straw being organic but it bristled after 5 min or if it was a reaction with the calamansi. Also, need to try the other food options and the little bakery goods. A bit pricey for a portion size equally of a Panda Express container ($25) . Disappointed. Bought a pork and a chicken skewer from their food truck at the Tomato festival in FF. Asked for foil because we were bringing it home and she says they didn't have any at that time.. She gave us another paper tray to put over it even tho it didn't cover it completely. Any sauce that was on there spilled. Luckily we had a bag in the car to put it in. If you're serving from a food truck, have something to cover the food, even if I ate it there I didn't want to walk around with my food all out. The pork was so fatty, not a good fat that melts but a chewy rubbery fat that you can't eat and have to spit out. The chicken was apparently from a drumstick because it had the gristle on it that I also had to spit out. If you're going to buy cheap meat at least cut the fat & gristle out. The seasoning was good but nothing to write home about maybe that sauce would've helped if it didn't spill. I've had way better skewers at Seafood city in Vallejo & Suisun Seafood center. I thought I was missing out because I haven't tried their food before but those skewer made up my mind, I'm good. Do better. read more

Went there to try their food, It wasn't that good, the sisig tasted more like crushed chicharon theres not enough flavor / lemon and spice to it. Kalderetang baka is okay but not good. The grilled bbq is overflowing with sauce that tasted like ketchup it probably would be better if they lessen it. Halo halo is just ice and milk. they should put more in it more banana, nata, gulaman, langka? coz its sooo plain Its a big let down. wont be coming back if I am to choose with filo stores in the area djs bibingkahan / seafood city food is way better taste wise / food option. The freshly cooked food is good. I had the Dinuguan and I'm pretty particular about it - it's good. Sinigang was a little too extra sour for my liking and I do like it on the sour side. My gripe is the food under the warmer because it tastes like old food. The BBQ stick was extremely dry and had no flavor, like they just brushed on some Filipino bbq marinade and called it a day. The fried tilapia tasted like metal. ... and the lumpia that I had to wait 10 mins for was HORRIBLE. A Filipino restaurant that had horrible lumpia? Ya, it happened. The meat was so dry and it was only half way through the middle of the roll. I'm wondering if it was reheated from a previous batch and the meat shrunk because it looked like a mini overcooked Vienna sausage in the lumpia. On top of that that, the lumpia tastes like fish because they clearly fried it in the same oil. They have the WORST lumpia I ever had. I'm sorry, I think they're overhyped on social media. They look great in their IG posts, warm, friendly, etc.... But we saw none of that when we went. Nice mural though. But man, I can't get over the basics: bbq sticks, fried tilapia, and lumpia... thumbs way down. Also, $16.99 for your little bag of chicharon!?!? My wife and I had sisig from their tent and enjoyed it. We tried lunch at the restaurant. I had the BBQ chicken and Sisig. The chicken was marinated, then BBQ. I liked both dishes. They have a smaller selection than the place across town, which is understandable. They don't have the customer base yet. The selection is enough for me and my wife. I've tried this place twice now. There is a good selection of Filipino foods to choose from. I've gotten the entree plate with rice and kare kare and chicken adobo. Both were decent but the meat in the kare kare was light. Wasn't a big fan of the pancit. The second time I came around noon but they said I had to wake 30 minutes for the chicken adobo to be done. I tried the Kaldereta which was pretty good! I love how there are a bunch of snacks that remind me of my child hood to choose from. I'll come back and try something else. read more
