    First time here
    Joe P.

It was my first time here. I got lucky, they serve really good food. Customer service was amazing. All their entrées very good taste. I ordered a bunch and I enjoyed each of them. The halo halo was so delicious. All the food and taste reminded me of back home. Rey good cooks and very enjoyable to talk too. Come check them out. 5 STARS.

    Pork Sisig - not impressed

When we arrived at the Filipino Island Fest in Alameda around dinner time, we could smell the yummy BBQ that came from Katna's Kitchen. There was an extremely long line. Thankfully, my daughter had been standing in line and was half way to the front of the line. It was still a long wait, and they were running out of certain dishes. By the time my daughter ordered, there was no more BBQ. We ended up ordering Sisig & Rice, Lumpia, and Lechon Kawali & Rice - not our first choice, we wanted the BBQ. And after all that waiting in line, we had to wait around 20 minutes for our food. We got one dish + the lumpia. Then we still had to wait because they said the rice would be another 30 minutes to finish cooking. Sigh! I get it! It was a big event, and there were a lot of people. They probably weren't prepared, and we got the bum end of the deal. The sisig was like adobo... not impressed by it at all. The lechon kawali was better but wasn't as crispy as it should have been. This was sadly my first experience with Katna's Kitchen. We saw them again at Manila Munchies in American Canyon. Smaller crowd so we decided to give them another try. We ordered the BBQ Pork with pancit. The food was better. Glad we got to try their BBQ. The customer service is good. The gal that took our order was nice. Our second visit to their vendor booth was definitely better than the first.

meal 1 with dinaguan and Bicol express and 2. caldereta and beef tapa. Shanghai and vegetable lumpia, 1 chicken bbq 1 pork & mango shake.

So went there last week with my bf and we were really excited to try their food since it looked so good on IG and the reviews were pretty good. I really wanted to order everything since there was so much to choose from. The staff were really friendly and even let me taste the food before buying. So from there since I did that I trusted every thing else was good but unfortunately it's wasn't. I ordered the beef tapa and it was savory and sweet to me and like I said I sampled it so I ordered it. I also, ordered the beef caldereta since it just came out and that was just ok. Oily but not really any flavor. My bf order the dinaguan that was oily than usual and also got the Bicol express that was ok to me but he enjoyed both. Which where my 2 stars are coming from. Then I ordered the Shanghai lumpia and I think they have a special flavor they make it and it wasn't for me either had only 2and also order the vegetable fried lumpia and the wrapper inside was fully cooked smh ‍ ordered the 1 pork bbq and 1 chicken bbq and they were both cold inside after I saw her heat it up the first time and then I told the lady that looked like that was running the place that the bbq was cold and she asked one of the staff to reheat it. Smh ‍ it should have been the right temperature the first place because I could've gotten sick being that it was cold PORK AND CHICKEN !! Then lastly I also ordered the mango slushie smh it was def a slush but the taste was off .. it didn't taste like mango and more like a powder flavor versus like a fresh mango from the pi if that's what's they were going for as flavor. Like I said I had high hopes for this place and was going to recommend this to my friends and family but after this experience I don't think so. We spent at least $80 on this meal and it's $80 we can't get back smh ‍ instead for dinner we went to concord to Isla to redeem our Filipino experience which was much better even tho the price was a bit higher but at least the food was GREAT tasting. Sorry, I really did want to come back here but not after what we both experienced. 1 star for the friendly staff and another star because at what my bf ordered he was good with it.

Katna's Kitchen is a hidden gem in Fairfield that brings the heart and soul of the Philippines straight to your plate. What started as a humble pop-up has now grown into a cozy, sari-sari store-style eatery that lives up to its name. When you're here, you're literally eating at Katna's kitchen! She's usually there cooking in the back, too! The vibe is warm, welcoming, and full of Filipino hospitality. It's a small, family-run business that radiates love through every dish. Seating is limited both inside and out, but that just adds to the charm. You feel like you've been invited over to your auntie's house for a home-cooked meal. Definitely authentic Filipino comfort food at its best. The menu at their home base is even more expansive than what you'll find when they're at pop-up events like Foodieland. Think classic dishes like adobo, pancit, lumpia, kare-kare, and sinigang--all cooked with care and bursting with flavor. Every bite tastes like home! Don't leave without trying their halo-halo!! Hands down, my favorite dessert! It's a perfect balance of creamy, icy, sweet goodness that's incredibly refreshing and satisfying; esp on a hot day. They also cater for special occasions. Katna's Kitchen is open daily, and while seating is limited, it's absolutely worth the visit. Whether you're a longtime fan of Filipino cuisine or trying it for the first time, this place is a must-visit. Trust! Support local, eat well, and feel at home. Happy eating!

Food stand at Filipino Island Fest in Alameda
    Annabelle R.

Visited this food stand at the Filipino Island Fest in Alameda this past weekend. Spent at least an hour waiting in line, and 25 more minutes for the food to be ready (the wait times quoted by staff were way off). We ordered the lechon plate with pancit and a side of pork lumpia. Not our first or second choices, but that's all they had in stock around 5pm, three hours before the event ended. The food was made fresh, the pancit peppery with a nice mix of ingredients, the lechon with decent flavor but some pieces a bit tough, the lumpia pretty standard, crispy on the outside but a somewhat loose filling. All in all, the food was fine, but not worth the crazy wait.

Food - karekare was good! Sisig was meh. Turon was burnt dry. Friendly and fast service. Nice and neat area near airbase. Bibingka fresh and delicious.

I was craving halo halo so I went here. I was excited to see they had a buko flavored one. I also got a kare kare. I usually like it made with oxtail. This one was pork I think, but the meat was really soft. the kare kare sauce was thick and had perfect peanut butter flavor. The guy at the cashier was nice. I would come here again. Theres no inside seating but there are two outdoor tables.

My husband and I tried the Filipino tamales and they are very good! They are a Pampanga staple. My husband mentioned his grandmother used to make these as a child. He says it taste just like grandma's or Lola's!

Just outside Travis AFB main entrance, this humble Filipino hole-in-the-wall store has a ton to offer! They have Filipino snacks, memorabilia/souvenirs, and awesome Filipino food! We had the Sinigang, Pinakbet, Adobong Pusit, Paksiw na Lechon, Chicken Adobo, and Pork Kilawin...and it didn't disappoint! The food was good and very delicious. My daughter is very particular when having her Sinigang and there are only a few places we go to outside of our home for Sinigang when we don't have it cooked at home, and this place was a thumbs up for her. On top of the regular Filipino dishes, they also have Filipino street food! We tried the Isaw and pork bituka and were pretty good too. The store owners are very friendly and helpful. We wil definitely be stopping by again next time we make a trip out to Travis.

I stopped by for menudo, a Filipino dish, to go- it's great with toast bread and was absolutely delicious. The owner, Ms. Agnes, is friendly and helpful. Within the store is compact sari-sari store, carrying an assortment of canned products, and various items from the Philippines.

Fresh Bibingka! (Sorry only half by the time I remembered to take a photo). They sell

A hidden gem in Fairfield. They make fresh bibingka and puto bumbong. You can also choose from pork and chicken skewers, bistek, paksiw lechon, etc. We came to their store on a Sunday and they might have different options daily. They have lumpia and street food like fishball, okoy, all the yummy food that most of us miss from the Philippines. Freshly cooked!

Without a doubt, I always tell everyone that needs Filipino catering to consider ordering from Katnas Kitchen. We've been a patron of hers since 2019 when she was doing catering from her home (way before the food event days) and have always been pleased with all her dishes. When I heard that Katna finally found her brick and mortar I was beyond thrilled. She has a great selection of Filipino food options and on weekends the resturant does Filipino Street Food - fresh to order. One thing to keep in mind is that the location is kind of out of the way (in the shopping center next to TAFB) but I can assure you that when the breakfast and lunch rush hits... You've gotta get there for the food as soon as it hits those steamers because they go quick. The dining area is small but they've recently placed some tables on the outside to accommodate more people. The inside is clean and has a ton of dried food items and Filipino culture attire. My favorites to order from her catering is the oxtail kare kare (super tender), her pancit, and lumpia. I'm also a fan of her bistek, tocino, and all the street food offerings (kwek kwek is fire).
