I'm a Kathi's fan. We stopped in after a day of fishing. We started with some jalapeno poppers. They were fried nice and crisp and served piping hot. I had the fish basket and a draught beer. The fish was nicely battered and crispy. There were three good sized pieces of fish. It was really good. My drought was ice cold and fresh. We sat the bar and the bar chairs are "short" for the height of the bar. I guess if your drink until you pass out you have less distance to fall until your head hits the bar. The bar is also cushioned with Sea-Dek. This makes it even more pass out friendly. There is plenty of parking. We had a boat behind us and there's lots of parking options. I can guess that during scallop season the place is packed. There is more parking available in an abandoned lot a few hundreds yards north. Kathi's was the second restaurant in two days that we visited that had spotless bathrooms. What a welcome sight. Perfectly clean, serviced, with the smell of bleach everywhere. read more

Inside or outside dining. Band playing. Food was good but some a bit on the expensive side. Salad that came with meal was dark green lettuce but had lots of shredded cheese thrown on top. Snow crabs had good old bay seasoning on them. All you can eat redfish was good. Very nice staff. read more

Sweet Jesus! A life size statue of Trump loitering in the background while I eat my dinner is not my concept of a good idea. Some of your patrons may not worship him, as clearly Kathi herself must, to plunk him in the dining room. Anyway... Sangria tasted kinda off. My snapper was overcooked and dry. One good aspect was the crab pasta salad. I've never had anything like it. Delicious. But that's all that was. We came from very far away to eat at this place because the reviews were great. Had some good meals for our last night. It looked super busy but we got right in. It was a little loud but the live act was good. Service was a little slow like we were forgotten a few times but the food was good. The fried and blackened shrimp were tasty and the scallops got high marks. Definitely a place to visit while you're in the Hatch. Had a "locals" feel to it. The outdoor area is nice but the seats are a little unforgiving on your rear. read more

Although it seems like pickins are slim in this town, we were very happy with our gamble at Kathi's. The seating situation is super casual, which worked great since we have a small child with us, and the atmosphere is unassuming, but the food was definitely well done. The grilled shrimp was DELICIOUS and tender and well seasoned (buttery herby) and the fried oyster po Boy had all the qualities you want in the sandwich. Nice off the water restraunt with nice selection of appetizers the fish dip was good and serbing size was large as well as entrees. I had the whole flounder fried which the flounder was scored giving you great little chunks of meat My wife had the shrimp platter which had a .ound of lightly fried shrimp We both had cole slaw which had a Asian feel and the potato salad with dill was excellent and a great twist to traditional potato salad. read more

Service is amazing, everyone did great. All the seafood is fresh and comes out quick even on a Saturday night during prime scallop season. Whole fried flounder dinner is the best deal on the menu. The only down fall in the summer is sitting in the blazing heat in the Florida summer. It's like sitting on the surface of the sun and I live in the south so I'm used to the heat. read more

Wish I could've commented on how great the food and the service was. Sadly, the blonde Waitress acted like she hated us from the get go. We left and didn't even order. I think the owner needs to clean house on the help there. Piss poor attitude. The place was dead so you think they would be happy to have something to do. We were literally only people there. We stopped with a large group on a Wednesday night. The service was fine, the food was ok at best. The serving sizes were good, but the seasoning and flavorings were lacking. I had the blackened snapper, and it tasted like it was lightly seasoned with salt and pepper and then pan seared in butter. No blackening seasoning at all. On another note, we were told that they no longer served bud light due to their recent marketing campaign featuring someone from the LGBTQ community. I nearly left when I heard this but didn't want to cause an issue with everyone else in my group. If you are in the community I HIGHLY suggest skipping this place. read more

We stopped here today on a long drive back to Tampa. I ordered the snow crab dinner and my husband ordered the pick 2 dinner with fried shrimp and scallops. I will say that the portions were very generous. However my 3 stars reflect the fact that the menu pricing was $53 for my snow crab dinner yet the actual price was $79. To her credit the server told us the snow crab was at market price, but the pricing seemed a little excessive given that they were doing all you can eat stone crabs for $79. I just wish they had put a sticker on their menus that indicated "market price" instead of leaving the $53 price on there. My husband also thought the $43 price on his meal was excessive for fried fish. Also, if you are bothered by Trump banners hanging from the ceiling you probably shouldn't frequent this establishment. Really fun seafood joint with wonderful staff. We stopped here after a full day of scallop hunting in the Gulf. The casual, outdoor feel was just what we needed. We ordered the cheaper "lunch specials" (served all day) and had blackened halibut, fried shrimp, and fried oysters all done just right. Last night I had AUCE snow crab with my amazing and sweet boyfriend. He had eaten at Kathi's two weeks earlier and the AUCE price was around $30/40. When the bill came it was $215. I was like surprised to learn that the AUCE snow crab had more than doubled to $79.95 EACH with no sides. I had two crabs. The part that really bothers me is not the amount, but that I believe they did it with deception in mind. My boyfriend went to their Facebook to check the prices and there was a man asking how much the AUCE snow crab is. My boy replied with the price and they delted and blocked him. I did the same and they deleted and blocked me. I am shocked. Do they not want people to know it's $80 each for just ? Be it seems so damn shady for words. read more

We were on our way home to Palm beach county and decided to stop in Steinhatchee, Fl. We found this place on Yelp, imagine that. What a treat! They had all you can eat crab legs $55. and lobster claws $66. The crab legs were out of this world delicious! Their oysters were perfect, cold, fresh, nice sized. They offered them raw, steamed, fried or grilled. We had a dozen raw and a dozen grilled with garlic & parmesan. They were outstanding!!! Their red potatoes & corn were perfectly cooked and seasoned, as well as their grits. You can have them with or without cheese. We spent the night in the area and the next day we went back and had the best cheeseburger we've had in years. They season the grill everyday with Garlic, onion, and seasoning salt. The service and atmosphere was top drawer. They have a live band on the weekend outside with plenty of seating. Sweet tea was great, as well as a full bar. read more

We went in around 6 pm, the restaurant was super busy. However, there was no lapse in service. We were seen pretty quick, sat within the listed wait time. We ordered a dozen raw oysters and a low country boil for two, the entire table of nines food came out within 15-20 minute and everything was amazing ! We will 100% be back. read more

There 2PM today, SA of Memorial weekend. Friendly, efficient and thoughtful service. Super quick delivery of our orders. Emma was our server. Ordered shrimp and clam lunch baskets with salads as sides. Salads served first. Came on square ceramic plates as basic but fresh Iceberg lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onion slice, and pickled pepper slice. Nice. Cedar Key sourced fired clam strips were hot, and crispy yet not overcooked, flavorful and tender - about as good as fried clam strips get. The fried shrimp were "Rockstar". The shrimp quality was amazing as they were large, tender and flavorful with that amazing bite that only truly fresh shrimp have. Spoke with "Cap'n Gerald" on our way our and it was great to meet an owner that demonstrates caring about his enterprise. Maybe a little clinical on the comment, but his caring does shine through the entire experience from the staff to the food. read more
