The food, shrimp basket and Oyster basket with macaroni and cheese, cheese grits and friee. The shrimp were fat and juicy wirh a nice light breading. The spice mix reminded me of KFC. the fries, Crinke cut and crispy were a table favorite. The oysters were bland. My companion said they had little flavor ocer the breading. The cheese grits were tasty, but the biggest disappointment was the Mac & cheese. It was oily and tasted like institutional (school, hospital) food. There wasn't a long wait, bur be aware, summer is here and if you're out doors, get you some insect repellant. Gnats are aggressive.

The woman taking orders made me feel like I was an inconvenience just for being there. Her attitude was noticeable enough that another customer after me actually asked if he had done something to upset her. Her response was simply that it was a long day -- which, while understandable, doesn't make for a good customer experience. On top of the attitude, there was a serious lack of communication about what was unavailable. They were out of several items, including bottled water. Most frustratingly, I ordered the peel-and-eat shrimp and wasn't told until after I received my food that they were out of cocktail sauce. Without it, the shrimp were inedible to me -- I ended up throwing them away. That information should have been shared at the time of ordering. This was one of the only dining options available on a Monday night, so we made it work. But the poor service, lack of communication, and wasted food made the overall experience fall short. I'll be looking for other options next time.

The chicken was disturbingly small Chicken- butchered thin( less than 1/2 breast portion) The chicken not breaded, breast filet sliced served on an oversized bun, which belittles the poor chicken. When complained another breast sandwich was sent right away, but was not cooked. How can you send out RAW chicken! Chef ramsey would be infuriated! also portioned smaller than bread and full of gristle. Un- edible. Made due with over-cooked first order to appease my appetite, and not to complain a thirtd time. but both a sad looking chicken choice for the $10.99 price tag. However, our Waitress tried to compensate for the cooks poor or lack of skill: by only charging the price of the french fries. For a day of just taking a drive and finding this restaurant on the water, he view was gorgeous on the suwanee. Lovely day, nice weather and many airboats and finshing along the banks, the food I would skip. (At least the chicken) however my friend who ordered the blackened fish sandwich also a small portion of fish, but was pleased with the flavor and cook. So it may be a hit or miss type of place. The one star review is on the chicken sandwich. I guess the saying goes don't order something land when at a seafood restaurant.

Had some light rain on the way to Suwannee only to discover their "covered" outdoor seating is no longer safe due to structure issues. The staff was kind enough to allow is to sit inside. I must say the seafood was the best I've had in the area and will definitely be making the 30 minute drive more often.

We also had a small grilled redfish and fried oyster dinners with sides. Both were tasty but the oysters were the star of our lunch. The swamp cabbage was different than I've had before and it was good. We wanted Mullet Backs but they didn't have any mullet dishes available. Guess we'll just have to try it again on our next visit to the area.

Cindy our server greeted us immediately after being seated, we were seated in the back of the restaurant which allowed me to look at what the locals were eating, yeah almost every table had oysters either raw on the shell or chargrilled which were all sized large. There are lots of options here no matter your preference We both got crispy fried catfish and I added fried shrimp I opted for a side I've never seen on any menu anywhere "Swamp Cabbage" (sautéed heart of palm with bacon) I covered it with a healthy dose of Trappy's Pepper Vinegar, it's definitely an acquired taste I'm sure but delicious, we also ordered fries which came with a generous portion of thumb size hushpuppies served with guava jam. We also ordered an order of Lacy's Rockin Oysters for an appetizer, they arrived about half way through our dinner service but well worth the wait for sure, a few dozens of these would make a wonder meal by itself - everything was delicious and the prices are a very good value - a shout out again to our server Cindy she was exceptional. If you're in the area and want some fresh seafood and the freshest oysters this is definitely the place to come. The area is still recovering from the last hurricane which devastated the area but it seems all is well here...

We were warned that there were only 2 wait staff on at the time, and to be patient. To that, our waitress had the sweetest southern accent, her name started with an M, she was amazing. She handled her section, yes we waited but had no real complaints. The prices were a bit out of line with the food offerings. I paid $25.99 for some tender, juicy shrimp and $29.99 for a plate of "fried scallop" all were the size of a nickle and tasted like punched ray wing. I iver heard another customer state that they would like more chicken in their Chicken Alfredo, as the serving they got, 4 peices was ridiculous for the price they charge.

A very entertaining, true Florida, off the beaten path experience. While the restaurant is not the best in the world, it's pretty good and the only option on a Tuesday night that we could find. The place was crowded and we were taken care of with the right level of attention. We stayed in the newly remodeled first floor of one of the buildings. There's still lots of cleanup and re-building to do. It's a little sad to see Steinhatchee suffer so much. But glad to see folks trying to make a go of life again.
