Katana is a restaurant owned by the same owner as Terracotta Red. They are both similar in that they offer stylish, attractive plating and decent food. I've tried multitudes of different sushi, appetizers, and rolls at Katana and have been here for work functions, meetings, dates, and with friends. The atmosphere and unique style of the restaurant is the main selling point for me. The food is second to this. Staff is usually very friendly and fairly attentive. I would suggest checking it out if you are looking for a new spot to meet up and focus more on your conversation and experience than the food itself. Not bad. But not the best. read more

It's so great to have excellent sushi in Snohomish County! Don't bother with most of the rolls, although the crispy salmon skin ones are pretty good. Go for the excellent cuts of Nigiri. It is super fresh and prepared excellently. My favs are the yellowtail, salmon, and most of all SABA! J slices it meticulously and then gently warms it with a torch. Buttery and rich. You also get freshly grated wasabi and ginger that is a much higher grade than any of those conveyer belt places. My one complaint is that this place is a bit hard to get to during rush hour. read more

I live in Seattle and have to stop by Katana for some fresh sushi every time I go to the Premium Outlets up north. Definitely the best Japanese restaurant in Everett. Fish is always fresh; staffs are always friendly and helpful; place is always nice and neat. The Geisha Girl roll has always been my favorite and during winter time I would have the Mount Fuji roll which is grilled and topped with delicious sauce. read more

Went to Katana for the first time just the other day. Took my wife and the grandkids who love sushi. Sat right at the sushi bar, and the chef took special care of us, and was impressed with the kids love for tobiko, tekka maki, and more. Decor is very cool with an urban brick and industrial theme, and some real cool koi paintings done on car hoods. Everything coming out of the kitchen had its own spin and looked awesome. Dont even think about ordering for pickup here. They gave me the wrong dressing.. there are only 2 choices so shouldnt be hard to get it right. They only gave enough wasabi for one of the pieces of sushi (less than size of a dime). I paid extra for snow crab in my california roll and got the dregs of a tiny dungeness leg and there were only 2 slivers of cucumber and no avocado. Of course I called and complained once I opened up my order and was told that a manager would return my call when she got in but Surprise, no call back. I even left a tip. SO FRUSTRATING when you are excited for a good meal and it ended up in the dogs bowl as they will eat anything. They get a 1 star cuz they didnt screw up the tempura. DONT GO THERE!!!! read more

Love this place. Nigiri is real nicely done and fresh, Deadliest Catch roll is a must try. I try my favorite Spider rolls every spot I go and they didn't let me down. Kaiso Salad is so fresh seaweed and dressed perfectly. Wine selection needs growth, but the one label is good. read more

I was first introduced to Katana by my brother and we dined in the restaurant back in March and it was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, I placed an order online for pick-up on Friday, 8/28/2020, which was supposed to be ready at 12:49 p.m. I arrived at 1:05 p.m. and called the phone number provided and was told that they were still working on two items and would bring it out as soon as it was ready. Finally at 1:30 p.m. the order was brought out to me. The boxes did not feel hot as I think they should have been since it was supposedly just cooked. The sushi roll (Firecracker) was mushy on the top and not nearly as delicious as I had tasted previously. The Gyozas were floppy and looked like they had barely been cooked. They were sliding around in the box and looked very un-appetizing. The Karrage was okay, but still not as fantastic as before. I think the order was ready, but was left sitting for a long time. Needless to say I was so disappointed and will not be ordering online again. At this point, I'm not even sure if I would eat inside the restaurant either. The order was not cheap and I feel like I did not get my money's worth. Oh and there's a required p/u tip too? The wrongness is epic. read more

I've always seen this place and wanted to try it. Finally came in on Saturday night right when happy hour started. First the pros-we got some rolls and Nigiris. Everything was delicious. Not a lot of sauce which is great because I can actually taste the fish. The fish was fresh and at a reasonable price, although the rice balls under the fish was a lot smaller than what I usually see at other places. I'd definitely come back again to try their other items. The cons- service was terrible!!! Probably 2 other table when we got there. Server came to take our order after 3-5 minutes of us sitting down but we weren't ready. Took another ten minutes to come to us. When we finally got our food, they had messed up one order in which they were kind enough to remake. I also got hot tea and they took my cup away without asking if I wanted more. I was flagging servers after servers and no one came to us. Even the waitress who brought out last plate just ignored me and walked away. I eventually got my hot tea. When they gave us the bill, they told us they took off a roll, which I thought was the one they messed up on. Nope. They took off the cheapest roll on our bill. Their excuse for the lack of service was it was unusually busy that night. Seriously?? It's a Saturday night with happy hour, of course it would be busy. Stopped in with a friend last week. Great little place. They're definitely being Covid-safe. They aren't handing out menus-- they have a QR code taped to the table, and that links you to their menu. They have a really great selection, and my lunchmate enjoyed the sushi. I had the katsu chicken, which was moist, and not overly breaded. So someone recommended this gem on Facebook and I came for lunch by myself today. The place was dead, I was the only person besides the staff. I was promptly greeted and was brought water. I chose the lunch special which was shrimp tempura roll, California roll, spicy tuna( pregnant so couldn't eat this roll, someone at home will, I'm sure)& miso soup. All for $13. Which seems awesome to me. Everything was fresh, no complaints! Very good sushi and very fresh. I took baby steps today but will by dragging my husband back to try some more intricate rolls.
