I have been to Kassandra's many times and each time I leave with the very happy I-need-a-nap-now feeling that comes with an amazing meal. The tortillas are fabulous but they're just the tip of this delicious iceberg. The eggs rancheros are by far the best thing I've ever had. They taste wonderful and leave me wistful when they're gone. I can't get enough. The divorced eggs are great too. I enjoy how they put corn tortillas underneath the eggs on the divorced plate. You can ask for the corn tortillas under the rancheros plate and they will gladly oblige. The hot cocoa is delicious and comes in an adorable little glass. No free refills on that though. The salsa is nice and hot but not over powering. The general atmosphere is very homey and akin to a very large breakfast nook. The staff is friendly and quick to serve. Okay. I was mostly wrong. I have been to Kassandra's many times since. Mostly for lunch. This place it great! I must have had an off night or something. The chips and salsa are fantastic. My favorite are the cheese enchiladas with queso on top. The best. I had their chicken fajita taco tonight. Another winner. The rice and beans are still outstanding. Service is great, friendly. Oh how I miss the food in the Rio Grand Valley since moving to DFW. Kassandra's does a very good job. Not a chain (+) the quality of the food, excellent service and consistency year to year is impressive. Serves authentic, fresh and well-prepared dishes. If you like to eat out, then attempt to be cool by finding fault and complaining, stay away from Kassandra's. Since our first visit back in 2009, we have visited Kassandra's countless times. They have become our favorite spot for after church brunch on Sundays, offering a plethora of breakfast or lunch items from which to choose. My favorite is Huevos Mexicana - eggs scrambled with green chili's, and I have them add chorizo. Delicious! Their selection of breakfast tacos are all good, and the breakfast burritos are more than ample. They offer American fare as well, and my son reports their pancakes are to die for! Updating review to address recent lunch/dinner visits. While I still enjoy Kassandra's breakfast menu, the lunch/dinner visits have been less than stellar...will go as far as to say visits were disappointing. In fact, kids proclaimed Kassandra's off the rotation after the last dinner visit. Cant say anything was good, and everything else was pretty mediocre at best, and some was just inedible. Food went half or less eaten. I would like to see Kassandra's retool their lunch/dinner menu and recipes, as they have a great location, great family atmosphere, and friendly service. The only hang up is the non-serving alcholo. However, this is not their fault. They share an inside wall with a Church. Texas laws prohibits them from selling alcholo in this proximity. If you are that sad about it they are a BYOB. As for the food. There salsa is killer. I'm not sure if they make it daily, but it sure taste like it. I have tried most things on their menu and have yet to be disappointed. I recommend their sour cream chicken. In my opinon the best thing about Kassandra's is the price. I've been coming here since Juan opened. The food here is very good and his home made flower tortillas are better than Rosa's. The atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. Prices are good for the amount of food you get. The Robert's Special is the BEST!!!.... since it was my suggestion to put on his menu way back when he first opened. The King Breakfast Burrito was also my suggestion. They both are fantastic. This place is family owned and Juan runs a nice CLEAN place. Kassandra's is a nice quiet place to eat. Prices are reasonable. As far as the food, the chips and salsa are nothing special. I've had the fajita's here twice and enjoyed them thoroughly. Today I tried the Juan's Cup (queso with steak and jalapeños!) and it was very good. This is my first time at Kassandra's and I'm so glad my mom motivated me to stop here. I was kind of skeptical because the outward appearance isn't so appealing, but I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in to a clean, cozy, and homey environment. It was so peaceful. I had a hard time ordering because there are so many options, which is good. Rosa, was very kind and checking in on us in a very timely manner and she made sure we had all we needed. I ordered the steak fajita tacos with one flour and one corn tortilla and when I took the first bite I was so satisfied... the steak fajitas are amazing!!! I'm very picky about where I go when I'm craving Mexican food and kassandras is one of my go to's for a good meal. I've had their breakfast, lunch and dinner and it's always a big diverse portion! The chips are fresh and the salsa is to die for. It has such a unique taste that keeps me coming back. My favorite meal here is the chicken flautas or beef tacos. First time trying Kassandra's so I opted for one of the take out deals posted on the front of the restaurant. 20 enchiladas, rice, beans, chips, salsa, and sopapillas. I asked for a mixture of cheese, chicken, and beef enchiladas - about 8 minutes later the server placed the order in my vehicle and I was good to go! I will be back as the flavors are fantastic and authentic Tex mex. as it turns out - The leftovers tasted even better the next day! While I cannot comment on an inside dining experience, I can comment on the food taste and service for takeout - and the very economical price. Additionally the rice had no veggies in it - awesome! And the beans had a great consistency without being dry - not an 'afterthought' side dish like at most places around town - all items were very good quality and I still cannot believe the price for all that delicious food! By the way - did I mention that entire bundle of 20 enchiladas, rice, beans, chips, salsa, and sopapillas was $30.00? Really? I am telling my friends! read more

This is my third time to go to Kassandra's and it will be my last. The waitress grade was a 2-10. She was to busy being with her co-workers than doing her job. It took her forever to refill drinks when you only have 2 tables in the whole restaurant being used. The queso was good. The cheese enchilada and the beef one was good as well. The nachos was a different story. My wife and I could only eat one a piece. There was something off about them. We told the waitress and all that was done was to replace it with something else. We just couldn't trust them. Instead of doing the right thing and taking the nachos off the bill. She left it there. I did pay for it as I didn't have time to wait for the manager for that could have taken forever. I did leave her with a zero dollar tip as she did not do her job. If you want good Mexican, don't come here. read more

We tried this place for lunch. There was only 1 other table with 2 people there. The service was very slow, empty glasses waiting for a refill for 5 min or more. The dip was good. The beef fajita nachos were really bad. The steak tasted off either like it was bad or had been re- heated in a microwave. My husband and I each tried 1 nacho and could not eat them. They were that bad. We told the waitress they tasted off and we couldn't eat them. She offered to have something else made but we were not trusting the food at that point. We politely declined another dish. She brought the check and charged the full price for nachos that were not edible and I honestly believe unsafe to eat as the meat tasted like it was bad. We paid the bill but will not be returning. I expect to be able to eat the food we order and don't appreciate a business that will serve bad food and not care about their customers or the quality of the food they serve. read more

Worst Mexican food I've ever had. I have never left so much on my plate--the taco meat looked & tasted like barbecue. The cheese had an unusual taste to it--not good . We live in Keller, were craving tacos, and stumbled across Kassandra's. Because of the virus we called in our order for take out due to the virus. The owner offered to bring the food out when it was ready but I opted to go in to get it. He had sanitizing wipes outside the door for his customers to use when entering. The wait was only long enough for the food to be freshly prepared. We went home, opened the bag, and began a pleasurable experience. The fajita nachos were some of the best I have had - and I have had a lot from various restaurants. My husband's steak tacos were delicious; and the soup was devoured. Ever on the lookout for someplace good for breakfast that's near my house, and I've driven past this place countless times thinking I should check it out, I stopped in this week. When I first walked in, I thought how inviting and comfortable it seemed in the restaurant. It was warm and smelled of yummy food. The brick on parts of the wall added to the visual comfort factor and the friendly greeting I received upon entry was quite welcome. And there were a dozen or more other people there eating when I arrived so I didn't have to worry about eating in an empty restaurant (like I did last week someplace else). After perusing the menu, I decided on the machaca con huevos. It came with refried beans (the drier kind that I like), potatoes, flour tortillas and salsa. When my order came out I was very pleased with the portion size of the machaca con huevos as compared to another restaurant I ate at previously. There were plenty of onion and chiles and the dish had really good flavor. The refried beans and potatoes that accompanied the machaca were both very tasty, as well. The refrieds were the kind that will mound on the plate plus they had really good flavor. The potatoes weren't anything out of the ordinary, but I thought they were cooked well and not overseasoned or greasy. The flour tortillas were very good and fresh. The only disappointment was the salsa. The basic salsa they bring out is extremely bland. It's got fairly good flavor but absolutely no heat at all. I asked for and received a hotter salsa and it definitely provided some heat. It was hot, just not really the type of salsa that I prefer (it was the dried chile variety which I like, but I like it better when the dried, reconstituted chiles are blended with the other ingredients for a smoother texture rather than being left in bits like chile flakes). Not a big deal considering that everything else was yummy. Service was efficient, and friendly. I was checked on 3 or 4 times after I received my meal so I always had everything I needed when I needed it. And I mentioned before that the restaurant has a cozy feel to it. I'm anxious to try lunch next. Just as a note if you've never been there before, you pay at the counter on the way out. I sat at the table for a while waiting for the server to come by and take my money, but after about 4 or 5 minutes of that not happening I tried the counter by the door. Voila! read more
