They closed all the holes in the walls (no more air coming in) where the old convectors were located; they repaired the flooring so that it looked seamless; and they installed baseboards to mask the gaps left by the new convectors, which were a slightly different size than the previous ones. (The convectors were installed by a different company, so they coordinated with them nicely). They also installed a brand-new lighting fixture on the bedroom ceiling (lots of concrete drilling involved), hung a metal shelf in the bathroom, and closed all the holes in the kitchen left by the previous contractor when the kitchen was remodeled. GE Construction made my vision for my kitchen and dining renovation come to life! This was not an…read moreuncomplicated renovation. The wall between the kitchen and dining contained duct work for both the dining room and upstairs, plumbing was done to the code of 1960 when the house was built, and previous owners/flippers did things in slapdash ways that made the process harder than it needed to be. But at the end of the day, what I sketched out came to life, and beautifully! Andrii and his team worked with all the things I really wanted out of my kitchen (including using existing appliances, so they had to move them around the space a lot while working, and some fancy stuff that is non-standard including that crazy butterfly sink that you see in some of the afters!), worked to bring things current (like moving plumbing off exterior walls, so I no longer have to worry about pipes freezing), and got it done. A total transformation! The price was middling among quotes, and I felt it was a great value since I got quality work and didn't have to do much (like ordering stuff...Andrii always had someone who could get things at a normal/retail price without me doing it). Job completed around our "contingency" finish date, which was only one week more than the "we hope to finish by" date, which is really good for a project of this scope. I am very satisfied, and if I didn't drive them crazy, will be using them for my bathrooms in a few years!
