We wanted to completely redo our master bathroom and move a wall so that we could add a bathtub. First we worked with Mega's design consultant, Laissa. She was incredibly patient and helpful and guided us through the process of designing our bathroom, choosing all the fixture and tiles, etc. I have no idea how we would have done it without her. I especially appreciated how they gave us a spreadsheet of all of the fixtures and their prices so that we could easily see how every change of fixture affected the overall price of our project. Once the design was finished, Ibrahim, Juan, and the rest of the construction team took over. They were unfailingly polite and considerate while they were in our home. They were even kind enough to wear masks when we requested it (we have an immunocompromised family member). The construction team regularly consulted us whenever they wanted to confirm a decision and the work was finished well within the time frame we'd been promised. Our bathroom is so beautiful that my mom regularly drags family members upstairs to admire it when we have family events at our home. We did have one issue after construction was finished: a stubborn leak that kept coming back. Mega was very responsive when we reached out to them about the issue and was very proactive about making sure it was fixed and repairing any damage it caused. I would happily hire Mega Kitchen and Bath again in the future and I can't give a better recommendation than that.

He responded quickly to every question, and his patience was remarkable. The crew was respectful and left the worksite tidy every day. Now that it's finished, we couldn't be happier. The ADU is beautiful and incredibly functional, and details like the custom cabinetry and thoughtful layout show the care they put into their work. The project took about 2-3 months due to black custom cabinetry which took 2 months to receive (attributed to COVID) or the project would've taken a month. The guys came in to provide a no pressure estimate and they weren't priced too high or low which is generally a good sign. I always avoid contractors who provide too cheap a price or shoot for the moon (#GME). All in all, I've asked them for an estimate on my bathrooms after being so impressed with their 1) responsiveness 2) craftsmanship 3) attention to details and lastly 4) honesty As one example, one part of the counter top install there was a slight ridge which the guys noticed. The sub contractors attempt to install countertops wasn't perfect and I could barely tell but Kelvin/Jose held the subcontractor responsible to replace the piece. They removed a wall which wasn't load bearing, but we decided to install a 23' beam to be safe. Installed cabinets, enclosed the refrigerator, moved the sink into the corner and added waterfall countertops to the entire "island" area. Pictures speak for their craftsmanship. Highly recommend Jose and Kelvin for you remodel needs!!

Clearly, the same company still exists! You came out, did a test and said it didn't work anymore, then told us these things usually stop working and have to be replaced and you'd have to buy more lights and reinstall. What?? Seriously? I don't know who you've scammed with that lie in the past, but we're not that stupid. Thats three very serious lies right after we spent over $20K on remodeling. If you try to gas light me again, I'll start dropping images of the entire project showing all the shotty work, our contract, and the text messages where you lied to us saying Jake Premium Renovations went out of business. This was a no-brainer for any company. You could have just adjusted the poorly installed wiring and it would be no big deal. We would have ignored the poor craftsmanship and moved on... but you got greedy. I'm beyond offended by your work ethic. J&E Modern Construction renovated both our unfinished basement and outdoor breezeway of our almost…read more100-year-old rowhouse in NE WASHINGTON, DC. They did a FANTASTIC job! The job included demolition of existing non-weight-bearing walls, new framing, insulation, sheetrock, ceiling; new flooring, doors, windows, overhead lights/wiring; upgrading the stairway to 1st floor; building "mechanical room" for boiler; plus framing, screening, ceiling, tiling back breezeway; installing breezeway fans;; plastering & painting; and other finish work. We did NOT need the full bathroom done; it was already done. We also purchased & J&E installed stackable washer/ventless dryer. The finished basement includes a guest bedroom with private back entrance and private access to bathroom, a small room to be used as a recording studio, hallway/general access to washer/dryer, and small sitting area at base of the steps. Breezeway now provides a screened in patio. Importantly, J&E discovered some structural decay in the brick support pillars and beams/crossbeams at the back of the house in the breezeway and were able to repair the issue quickly and attractively for a reasonable additional fee. While J&E was not the least expensive bid we received, the quality, timeliness, and thoroughness of their work was first rate! Additionally, the communication channels (via WhatsApp) connected all the team leadership easily and efficiently. The response time was speedy. Yair Delayahu spent considerable time assessing the job; his estimates were incredibly detailed & parsed out financially. Shay Ovadia, and Orlando were terrific in guiding the project, and crew member Oliver and his teammates, plus electrical/plumbing teams, were all tremendously skilled, punctual, courteous, and responsive. Clients are responsible for the selection and purchase of items like doors & handles, flooring, fans, washer/dryer. Client selects paint color. J&E can advise re materials. There's a final walk-through/punch list for any dangling loose ends, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED--5 STARS!

Years later, it was time to replace everything, and we wanted a kitchen with a better flow, more space, and better quality cabinets and appliances. Most contractors we contacted simply wanted to replace everything without improving it. Bath Plus Kitchen has actual architects on staff, listened to my list of wants and needs, and then incorporated them. I liked that they change a base price for this, so that I had the option of taking the plans to a different contractor or of using their in-house building crew. We went with their building crew, and we're really happy with how the kitchen turned out. It's so much more open and spacious than before. I have lots of space for working. I upgraded to a powerful stove with a hood, both of which work great. I'm really happy with the quality of the cabinets -- such an upgrade from any I've had before, probably ever. I'm enjoying the little extras that they planned into the kitchen that wouldn't have occurred to me, like dimmers on all of the lights, the quality hardware, touch-sensitive faucet, even the matching wood-panel vent covers and switch plate. The building crew did a very good job keeping the site clean and performing quality work all the way around. Nothing has felt wobbly, looked crooked, or seemed in the slightest bit off. A few negatives: Bath Plus Kitchen is BUSY! We started working on this project in November 2022. We finalized the plans, picked out appliances, and put down a large deposit in early February 2023. Work on our kitchen actually began the second week of July. That's a while to wait! We also had a few communication challenges, like a shifting start date, when to expect the crew to be at our house, and who was responsible for arranging delivery of a few items. It was nothing awful, but worth keeping on top of. Overall, the kitchen looks great and is great to cook in, and I'm excited to have friends over. I think we will enjoy it for many years to come.

We used Hammer for a major remodel of our 100+ year old home. The owner, Greg, is a great…read moresalesperson and nice guy, but we ultimately didn't think the cost was worth it. The overall quality was solid, but it was more of a build than a design and build, even though you're paying for both services with Hammer. For example, our kitchen has drawers to nowhere, because the countertop comes out overtop of them (and a useless outlet in that drawer); in a bathroom, they had to jerry-rig a vanity drawer that they didn't measure properly to account for the sink, and the faucet in that same bathroom barely fits so it's difficult to clean. And this was all custom-designed, custom-made by Hammer (or their vendors)! Our project team changed several times during our project, and at some point we were told our PM was pulled off to help with a bigger project (which made us feel real valued). We still have a few outstanding items to address as part of our warranty, but getting their attention or their focus past the sale has been more difficult. We interviewed several companies and decided to go with Hammer because we were sold on the design/build cohesion, but it wasn't worth the money. There are quality contractors for a better value out there.

During a recent home improvement project to install hardwood flooring, I removed the laminate…read moreflooring that was already in place. Upon removal, I noticed that the stairs were not only badly damaged (from a previous owner's work), but were failing in multiple areas when accessed underneath. This was no longer a home improvement project, but now became a safety issue. I contacted Jonathan on a Tuesday afternoon letting him know that we had a staircase that was in need of repair. I reached out to 10 companies (that listed on their Yelp reviews that they offered carpentry) requesting a carpenter or carpentry skills, but only Jonathan and another company indicated that they could repair stairs that were damaged and in need of repair. The other company was not as responsive and indicated that they were fully booked through the summer, and that they didn't have the time. After texting and calling Jonathan throughout the day Tuesday, Jonathan indicated that he would come out the following morning to assess the damage with one of his highly skilled employees. Jonathan and his skilled carpenter were timely and direct in what needed addressed. He indicated that we would replace 10 of the 13 treads, and that they would reinforce all of the stairs underneath with 2x4's and other materials. Jonathan and his skilled carpenter were not only efficient, timely, and responsive, but the quality exceeded all expectations. Jonathan's carpenter worked nonstop Wednesday (not even a break!) and finished ahead of schedule on Thursday. The high quality work was much more than we had anticipated, and the price was reasonable (considering the urgency and timing). I highly recommend Jonathan and his company. We plan to use them for improvements and projects. Top Notch!
