We tried 3 restaurants in Praiano and this was the best! Ate here twice because it was that good. The freshest ingredients, great service and even their house wine (red and white) were pretty good. Make reservations way in advance tho because it's a small place and fills up quick. We even made reservations the night before and they had to sit us near the front door and not in the main dining area. Romantic spot with excellent views. Be prepared to sit back and enjoy as this is Italian time no rush to get food in or get you out. Buy a bottle of wine and enjoy the views. I loved the lamb chops I had and my friend had clams perfecto. The chocolate almond cake is the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars as it was suppose to he the special of the chef but it was similar to a brownie with powdered sugar on top. Fabulous restaurant!! It was up the road from our villa and our go to restaurant. Loved sitting out amongst the stars on the street with the twinkling lights. Excellent, friendly, courteous service. Tried some fabulous local wine recommended by our server. Enjoyed many dishes so you can't go wrong no matter what you order. Fresh bread soft and tasty. My favorite meal on Amalfi Coast... we did a pretty good trek up the hill, only to be told they were booked with reservations so we waited it out for about 40 minutes (thankfully we had some wine to keep us occupied!) I was looking forward to eating seafood, since we had ate mostly sandwiches, pasta, and pizzas in Rome for the past four days. We ordered the octopus salad to start off, which was really delicious, although quite big so plan on sharing with a couple of people. I ordered the sweet shrimp risotto - I've eaten a lot of seafood, but never had shrimp THIS sweet. It was perfectly cooked, almost on the raw side but so tender. The flavors felt simple but had layers of complexity. My bf ordered fish which was quite hefty in size, cooked well with some delicious sauce (I can't remember all the details as it was off their "fresh" list which changes daily). We were so happy with our meal, we even ordered two desserts to keep the delicious meal going- tiramisu and the peach panna cotta. It was one of the top tiramisus we had during our two week trip around Italy. The ambiance was very trendy inside, although if I came for lunch, I would have preferred seating outside with a view. Yes, cats and ants like to hang with you for dinner. Now, this doesn't really bother me because it's just cats and it's not like they are going to be sitting on your lap while you eat. As far as the ants go, well they are all over this city, so you just get used to that after awhile. Amazing!! Everything about this place is great. The location is set high in praiano but take the local bus and you are fine if you are not up for the walk. The staff is amazing and so nice , our 7 month loved it and their food! We have tried different things on their menus and never got disappointed. This small ristorante is always busy. We were looking for a place to eat dinner and stumbled across it. Luckily they could fit us in to their busy restaurant. The menu is small which is a good thing because the quality of the food is better and more consistent. The food was ridiculously good, and was some of the best food I've had so far. I got the cod, and it was perfecto. It had mashed potatoes lightly brushed underneath it to give it that extra flavor, and they blended perfectly. I also had to opportunity to taste other dishes that my family got as well, and they were done just as well. The food was great and the presentation of each dish was also well done, you could tell a fair amount of time, care, and effort was placed into each dish. There is a glass window that peers into the kitchen, and I watched as the chef's put each dish together, and it's all definitely homemade, and done with care. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also nice, and had a nice feel to it. I highly recommend eating here if you are in Praiano, it was amazing, and a great choice for dinner! This was okay. The appetizers were good, but the sauce is below average for the area. They were accommodating for my dairy allergy. There is a two dollar cover( price wasn't the issue) a person. You must go if you're in Praiano! Fresh seafood, I got the grilled seafood platter and my husband got the duck for our entree... they were both amazing. For the appetizer we had the tuna tartar which was the best tuna I've ever had, so fresh and delicious. We finished off with some yummy dessert, the chocolate creme brûlée and hazelnut mousse biscuit dessert.. all the food was incredible. Was recommended this place and wasn't disappointed. Hands down the best meal I've had this trip. Everything was perfect: the food, the staff and the decor. We had the specials of the day: stuffed local red squid, cuttlefish pasta and fried paddle fish. They were all excellent. From the menu we had the arrancini, which were lovely. Followed by a couple pizzas, both delicious. Finally we ended on the wild strawberry tart. Safe to say we left completely stuffed and satisfied. Would happily eat here every night. This restaurant was recommended by our cab driver from Positano. After our odyssey from Capri to finally reaching Praiano from Positano, in August-my husband and I could not wait to sit down and finally have a good meal. We arrived around 4 but had to wait just a few more hours since we had reservations for 7. We were seated outdoors, (across the street from the actual restaurant) where they've set up a dining area overlooking the sea. We ordered the chef's tasting menu which consisted of three courses. Honestly, and for the price it was not memorable. The best thing I recall was the bottle of wine we ordered. Service was average and the manager and hostess/server was nice enough but she was selling a little too hard...as in the dessert (which is not included in the tasting menu) and limoncello, which by the way we, and the couple sitting next to us was under the impression that the limoncello was included. They should be clear when presenting their offerings. It was a beautiful night, the company and vibe were good, but the food was meh. The experience overall ,was a good one. We got the sweet stuffed pepper and arancinci for appetizers. The stuffed pepper was the best stuffed pepper we have ever had. For our entrees, we got the lamb chops and ziti with a meat sauce. I quite possibly ate the best pasta dish of my whole life here and that is the truffle pasta. Kasai is one of the first places I had found when I was researching places for our trip and I was immediately drawn to it - the ambience, the food (particularly photos of the infamous truffle pasta) - the whole thing! Glad we made a reservation beforehand because the place was packed every night we walked by. We were lucky enough to be seated outside overlooking the sea. It's magical. We started with the stuffed peppers and they were outrageously good. I then of course went with the famous truffle pasta. There are no words. The chewiness of the spaghetti, THE TRUFFLE, all of it. My fiance got the red squid pasta - also good! We also were introduced to our favorite wine of the trip - a Costa d'Amalfi Rose. It's like drinking water, which makes for a bottle easy to finish. My daughter order a salad and fresh pasta dish. All delicious. We asked our waitress for a recommendation for a bottle of wine. She recommended one of the more reasonable ones (30 euros), which we always appreciate, and ti was wonderful.
