Great service, excellent food (better than Da Vincenzo or Il Tridente in Positano), well worth the short taxi from Positano. Sat outside, everything was great. They even called a cab for us to get hack.

I was scrolling through my camera roll when I realized I never left a review for Kasai from my time in Italy. This is one of my favorite places we visited! Kasai was an adorable, quaint restaurant in Praiano. It's sits towards the top of the city, and the patio views overlook the gorgeous Amalfi Coast. Most restaurants in this city have a beach town vibe, but Kasai has more of a rustic feel which was a nice change of pace! Make sure you make a reservation, because this place gets busy. We started with the fish tartar, which was absolutely stellar. Most restaurants in Praiano have amazing fish, and Kasai was no exception. I love how fresh it was. For my main course, I ordered the truffle pasta. If you're a fan of truffle, you *need* to try this! They do not skimp on the truffle, and the pasta was cooked to perfection. The tiramisu dessert was the cherry on top to a perfect meal. Kasai is a must visit if you find yourself in Praiano!

This is one of the best spots for dinner, it was the best meal I had while in the Amalfi Coast! The fried cod was absolutely amazing, it was like an elevated version of fish and chips but so much better! Definitely give this place a try!!

Kasai was recommend to our group and we were not let down! It was a fun spot on the hill with great vibes and views. We enjoyed a number of different dishes and celebrated a birthday as well. Our waiter wasn't super friendly but that's okay.

Spaghetti

This was our favorite place we ate at in Praiano. The food was 10/10, including the presentation! We got the spaghetti and the cod tempura with veggies.

On my visit to the Amalfi Coast Kasai proved to be the best place I had. The location was beautiful and the waiters were extremely nice. We had such a great and authentic experience. The food is fantastic, and some of the best pasta I've ever eaten. The cook of the pasta was perfect, and the tomato sauce is so good. The tomato's in general in the Amalfi Coast are delicious, so you really can't go wrong with any tomato dish. The Muscles were fantastic, probably THE BEST I've tried. You must get them if you go here, and they give you so many. I also loved their tiramisu, but all of their dessert options sounded good If you are staying in Priano/Positano area it's definitely worth it to take a trip to Kasai. Beautiful views, amazing service, and delicious food.

Really enjoyed my meal and the outside ambience except for the wood burning stoves used to keep outside diners warm. I went in early May, so some people may find the evenings still a bit chilly at that time of year.

Stopped by here for lunch near the path of the gods. It's on a street less travelled. Chose wines by the glass from the chalkboard. Had linguine with clams and linguini pomodoro. Seemed a little pricey but good. Service was great. Gentle music playing from speakers was at just the right volume. Beautiful view.

I can't say enough nice things about Kasai! My most favorite place I ate during my entire stay in Italy. The food, staff, and location were all 10/10! The seating was on the side of the road overlooking the coast and was very beautiful and romantic. They had wood fire heaters to keep you warm and when one of us got a little chilly our waiter brought her a blanket. I wish I could eat here all the time! Definitely do not miss kasai!!!

Very kind very accommodating. The food was amazing. Was my favorite restaurant in all of the amalfi coast. I had a stuffed gnocchi The ambiance was outside and beautiful

Very mediocre food and poor service. This is a tourist trap. The only people eating here were American.

Well, it wasn't worth building a trip around it, but we did really love Amalfi Coast so in the end it worked out. As for this restaurant, I wouldn't go for dinner. Food just isn't very good. If ur in the area already (not spending crazy $ to take a water taxi or drive a distance), stop by for a cocktail. Having a drink here is worth it if you're nearby so would definitely recommend that. The bar is the only portion that's part of the cave and truly, many places along Praiano and neighboring areas r built into the cliff so it's not all that special. Unless you're arriving via water taxi, the walk to this place is a lot so wear shoes that u love to hike in-lol. We paid an additional 15Euro/pp to have VIP seating right along the water. Not worth it. U could easily sit on the patio and have equal views and experience. One of the nice things about Europe is often that they don't rush u as much as US restaurants. Not here. They were ready to grab r order immediately and when we asked to start with a drink and appetizer then order in a bit, they told us they had to put in r complete order at 1 time. Seems odd since they were able to add drinks as needed, but whatevs. The linguini with anchovy (it was more of an essence) was amazing! Would totally recommend it and we don't even like anchovies. However, everything else was meh to bad. The lamb ribs were a pile of fat and not good. The filet was really overcooked so rough to eat. The tagliatelle with ragu had almost no meat in it. Probably spent $100usd pp without alcohol and would definitely not recommend for dinner. *Tip - if you're walking back up that huge hill after drinks/dinner, stop off at the hotel just above Il Pirate and have a cocktail or dessert there. They have an elevator that will take u up to the top street that u can use if you're either a guest or dining there. I promise u it's worth the $ for the ride.

When it comes to pizza, I'm a snob and this place has it all. Here's the KEY--Their speciality is fried pizza. This is very unique! After making their super fresh dough, they lightly fry it. Afterward they sauce and add toppings. Then they quickly bake it in a fire oven. I promise you, it's great. This is a great pizza to share and definitely a novelty. The have a "la super" margherita-- which is a margherita pizza that is 70cm long. This is great is you have a group and it can feed about 4-6, if you get appetizers. We also had: Capri which is pizza with red sauce, basil, beefsteak tomatoes and fresh mozzarella. A traditional margherita- the best in this area. Melagianella- an eggplant dish, with basil and Parmesan. Tasty Fried Food- a mix of fresh, fried vegetables. Caponata napoletana- delicious! We got this without meat. Similar to bruschetta, just much better. Service was excellent. We enjoyed this place so much, we went twice. They do take reservations and do have outdoor and indoor seating. We understand that Italy has a more relaxed pace than the U.S., but it would've been nice if someone checked in on us occasionally for drink refills or to see if we needed anything. I asked, they said no it was not meant to be cold, and promptly brought me a new warm one. Which tasted good. But then ... the check comes and they charged full price for everything. Like they didn't even knock off the cover for the mistake they made. I didn't ask if they would discount the meal because I shouldn't have to. A high quality restaurant would have done it without putting me in the awkward position of having to ask. They would have just done it because serving a frozen dish is just kind of embarrassing ... especially on the Amalfi coast where they take so much pride in the quality of their cuisine. Anyway, I just paid the bill and walked out. Poor etiquette on their part ... you should not put your customers in the position of having to ask. Just do what's right up front.
