I have been going to Karma for several years now. I am hooked on the Cucumber Cosmo and I love their Sushi. The bartenders (Meagan and Jesse) are fantastic. The wait staff is also wonderful and accommodating. We always begin with the Cosmo and a Tuna Taco appetizer (we ask for it spicy) and then go from there. Highly recommended are the Tuna Tataki, Salmon Ceviche and the Rainbow Roll. I went there this afternoon. The waitress Rachel was not friendly at all. That set the tone for the rest of the late lunch. She was in a hurry to take our order and I don't like to be rushed. Karma is a great little restaurant tucked in a generic strip mall but sure does pack a punch. Beautiful decor in a cozy atmosphere help make this place a go to for a mid week dinner outing. I highly recommend going for lunch because they have fantastic lunch selections served on a tray full of a vanity of samplings. I go to Karma for lunch probably once a month for the sushi. The food and sushi is pretty good, and their prices are super cheap. Lunch meal deals and lunch sushi deals are where its at. Service can get slow sometimes, but who's in a rush to get back to work on a Friday afternoon! read more

There's no way I can love this place as much as Sakura (in Chelmsford), but Karma comes a close second. Both times I've been there, I've gotten free ice cream at the end of the meal, and if that's not the mark of a good restaurant, I don't know what is. Karma's specialty maki rolls are wonderful, especially the toro with truffle oil...whoa. The chef came to our table and recommended dishes, which is rare for a small restaurant in the 'burbs. They also have delicious edamame. The only thing that irks me about Karma is the decorating. Most of it is gorgeous, including a dark-wood bar, glass partitions filled with lights, and oddly interesting light fixtures. But one entire wall is filled with portraits of flowers and fox hunts--and it does not go at all. Seriously, I know that sounds dumb, but it'd be so much better without the paintings! read more

We enjoy Karma. The food is good. The atmosphere is definitely above average and the staff seems quite friendly. I could probably name a place with better sushi or better Chinese but Karma is very satisfactory. I agree that things are a little slow but that may indicate careful preparation. I'm on the fence between 4 stars and 5. The sushi is ok but the Chinese food is pretty good. The service is fair. There was only once where I found it to be stellar. It's probably one of the only decent bars in town. There aren't a whole lot of options is Westford so considering that this place is worth a try. read more

For sushi, I haven't had better in this area. I've been to the competiton in Chelmsford and down the road at Banboo, but the sushi here is much more creative, a fuller menu, larger sizes, and very fresh. The prices are Boston-esque, so beware. I agree with Allie on the decor - mostly contemporary, but what is up with the doctor office paintings? I can't rate table service as I ordered take out but the hostess was very friendly and helped get my order completed soon as I was in a rush. I get take out from Karma all the time. The sushi is really good especially for those delving into the sushi world as a beginner. I have only tried the maki and each type I have tried has been really fabulous. Some favorites are spider, spicy tuna, and shrimp tempura. I've already reviewed this place but over 2 years later it remains my absolute favorite for sushi. I live in Boston which supposedly has amazing restaurants but I always end up back at karma. They have extremely fresh fish and are constantly coming up with new sushi roll specials and appetizers. Ask for specials and be sure to try the salmon ceviche, tuna tacos, and karma 3 layer. I love how they have vegatarian options...espically with their delicious sushi. The cucumber maki, asperagus maki and pickled radish maki are my favorite..extra wasabi and ginger please :) The drink menu has lots of really good cocktails. The servers are really friendly and helpful. The price is very reasonable...not that exspensive. The atmosphere is nice, relaxing and has beautiful decor and an awesome light up bar. This place is great, including both the food and the service. Whenever I am in the area I come here because there is nothing even CLOSE to this kind of quality anywhere nearby. It is pan-Asian, so they have Japanese (sushi, etc), as well as Chinese and Korean. If you go at lunchtime (before 3) you can get a combo or a bento box starting at about 9 bucks! They spoil you with great choices for sides (more choices for soups, dumplings, etc than I've seen elsewhere for a bento box). And the menu offers great variety without being overwhelming. I have never been disappointed here. Sushi is recommended. Their dinner entrees are delicious and elegantly presented. And the service is always right on-point too. Very nice people I'm in this area a few times a year to see my Mom, and believe me, other than chain restaurants and fast food, there ain't much around. We were a party of three and the food was good. There are a few things that we weren't happy with two of us ordered the same thing which was very good my friend ordered something different. Her meal was brought out before the others so she was done eating before we got ours which is not proper. The other thing that was really beyond belief was the waitress gave us the bill and we gave her the correct amount of the bill plus the tip. She came back a few minutes later and said that there was a mistake and that we were short by $5.00 she argued with us for a couple of minutes. She then realized that we weren't going to give in and left. We were so flabbergasted that she had the nerve to ask for a higher tip what we should have done is taken the tip that we had left her and left her nothing. LOVE Karma! Have yet to have a bad roll or a bad experience there. The menu is huge and can be a bit daunting, but you really can't go wrong with anything there. I particularly love the seaweed salad, wonton soup and veggie pad thai. Oh and the cucumber cosmos! I think the only downside is that service is a little shaky - sometimes, you have to wait a bit for any food or drinks to come out. But, the food makes up for it! read more

They either changed their chef or their recipes. Quality and flavor have gone down hill after years of being at the top of their game. Too many amazing Chinese restaurants locally to choose from, to go somewhere that now has mediocre food. I miss their tasty crispy ma po tofu. read more

Karma is a great place to go for either a quick business lunch or a lengthy dinner affair with friends and family. The food is reliably delicious and they have many options to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. The service is decent; the drinks are good. I like to get their Bento boxes for lunch, and for dinner, you can't beat sharing a variety of dishes while nestled around their comfortable horseshoe shaped booths up front near the bar. Karma won't disappoint on the takeout front either, with their food being ready fast as can be, and always arriving piping hot! They serve both Chinese and Japanese fare. Have been going since it first opened - about a year ago they installed a new bar (the old one was so tall it was awkward to sit at). Typically I'm getting takeout when I go there (recommend the sushi - especially the spicy ones), so I sit at the bar while I wait for my order. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is cool. It's often busy at night, so sometimes it can take a while for sushi orders - but do like I did and let Jesse make you a specialty drink (try the cucumber martini, trust me). I really like the way the different spaces in this restaurant are set up. As one looks in, there is the very modern and stylish bar area along the left wall, the sushi bar is towards the back where we could see our sushi being placed into our boat. The main dining area has a variety of seating options with each table placed pretty good distances apart. They also have a nice private dining area which looks out most of the windows. The menu includes a very good selection of Chinese, Japanese and Thai options. My daughter and I had the sushi and sashimi boat for 2. The sushi chefs gave us a very good variety of fish and the quality was quite good. Our meal came with a very fresh salad and a good sized bowl of miso soup. Well above average food for the area. I've been there twice now and have been pleasantly surprised both times. The mai tais are powerful, be careful. Very nice sushi and I dig their maki rolls. This was my first and last trip to Karma. The food mediocre: I had the vegetable spring rolls and two maki rolls. The spring rolls were not good, and I've had much better sushi. But the food didn't warrant my one star rating, the service did. Let me just preface by saying that I have worked as a waitress, so I've witnessed rudeness both on the part of customers and waitstaff. But last night's experience with the waitress at Karma really takes the cake. The waitress was inattentive and over-the-top rude, and the dining experience took nearly 3 hours. We had a person in our party with a common food allergy, which she politely informed the server of while asking about the contents of a specific dish. The server snapped at her, rudely insisting the dish would be fine for her to eat before deciding to consult her manager. Turns out the dish wasn't fine for our friend to eat. The waitress proceeded to complain to her manager (while still at our table) that my friend should have known the ingredients for that dish because she had eaten at Karma previously (it was her first time there.) Trip to the hospital thankfully avoided. One of the members of our party wanted to take a portion of her meal home because she couldn't finish everything - we watched as the waitress took her plate, then proceeded to stack the dirty plates from a nearby table on top of the food that she wanted to bring home. She returned shortly after with a to-go bag containing the food she peeled off the bottom of the nearby table's dirty plates, and the bill. The total was $69, and we split it on two credit cards - kind of a pain I know, but not the worst thing ever. She stood at our table waiting until we gave her the cards - actually asking, "Are you done yet?", instead of stepping away to give us a few minutes to figure out our totals. There was some confusion with the credit card split, and we ended up shorting her a bit on the tip which was actually entirely accidental. I know how much it sucks to be shorted and I would never do it on purpose. The total tip ended up being $8, which was just over 11.5% of the bill... Not great, but it wasn't like we tipped her $2. Instead of politely suggesting there could be an error in our adding, or taking the money and cursing us out to her co-workers, she loudly insisted that it wasn't enough money, rapping her finger on the table angrily and repeating the bill total over and over. Nothing like embarrassing your customers in the middle of a packed restaurant. It was probably the worst experience with a server I've ever had. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

The first (and last) time we went here the service was extremely slow. When the food finally came almost an hour later, my dad did not get his meal and the server dissappeared for over a half hour. Everyone finished eating when it finally appeared, no explanation or apology. We did not leave a tip because it was so horrible. The lady literally ran after us in the parking lot yelling for a tip. We gave her 10% but she demanded more for the sushi chefs saying she would get in trouble. We will not go here ever again!!!! read more

The place looks amazing when you walk in. The food is also beautifully decorated. Unfortunately looks don't make the restaurant. The food was pretty expensive for what you get. And the sushi was average. All this I could bear with, but the thing that made my friends and I all decide to never ever go back was the service. So we reserved a table for a birthday party and they had it all ready for us. Awesome! But they forgot about us most of the time we were there! And when check time came around, they charged us wrong and took them forever to figure out the correct bill. We actually had to get them to pull up our receipts and personally add all the numbers in front of them FOR them. This was probably the worst service I have ever had. The food was great! But the waitress did not check in at all. I Told no about switching to a booth, because the tables are very uncomfortable. Been here twice, sat at the bar for some food. Service is a little slow to start, especially if its busy. On the monday i went, there were a surprising amount of people in the place. I like the lunch specials, which are reasonably priced considering they offer "a little bite of everything". Served on bento trays, with any lunch special order you get a soup option, an appetizer option, a maki option, and a rice/lo mein option. Over my two visits here I've tried the salmon teriyaki and the unaju, both were good. Also, I enjoyed both the side dish maki (spicy tuna and Alaskan). The only problem I've encountered concerns the service, which on one occasion was slow and inattentive, but I will chalk that up to an off day. read more

We have been coming to Karma for several years now, but since moving to Waltham we don't get there as much as we would like. Still, if we are celebrating or want to have a really special experience, we make the trip to Karma. A few weeks ago we went for the first time since moving in January. The staff seemed genuinely thrilled to see us back, and that made the experience even better. We usually sit at the bar and enjoy Megan's outstanding cucumber martinis, but we have also sat at the sushi bar and watched the beautiful fish being prepared. Everything is a work of art. We have never had anything but the sushi, but it has always been excellent. Baked salmon maki with fried sweet potato is a favorite, as is the spicy tuna, shrimp tempura maki, and alligator maki. We have also had the tuna taco, which is like seviche with chopped jalapeno. The interior is beautiful, the staff is friendly and the food and drinks are great! It is not cheap, but good sushi rarely is and at least the drinks are strong and good. read more

Karma has always been a reliable standby for our family. Kids like terriyaki dishes and the rest of us like the maki rolls. They also have a great bar with a good selection of wine by the glass. My husband and I really love coming here. Every so often we need our karma FIX!! We always sit at the bar and I think the service is best there. The Chinese food is the best in the area. Super flavorful and not greasy. The sushi is soooooooooo good too. The carol roll is s must try. Also we always get the tuna taco to start. Absolutely delicious!!!!
