My family has had a few meals from Panda Wok since they opened, and I was especially happy when they implemented Online Ordering. Their food has been fresh, and flavorful -- and in the area, consistently good Chinese food can be hard to find. Unfortunately, we need to resume cycling through other area Chinese restaurants as the situation I am going to describe below has happened on more than one occasion. Fortunately, special food preparation requests I make are not due to any severe allergies or special dietary requirements -- they are really just about personal preference. I totally understand that this is a "first world problem", and nothing to lose sleep over. But I am sharing this for those of you that MAY have medically necessary dietary requests/severe allergies, etc. My order: 1 large Wonton Soup 1 Moo Goo Gai Pan 1 General Tsao's chicken (NO Veggies please) 1 Roast Pork Fried Rice (NO Veggies/Onions, only Roast Pork and Egg). 3 Steak Teriyaki 1 Bottle of Diet Coke Hot Mustard Duck Sauce Ginger Soy Sauce I was pleased to see that the General Tsao's chicken for my son had no veggies, as requested. Unfortunately, the Roast Pork Fried Rice had MORE than enough vegetables for both the General Tsao's AND the Fried Rice combined -- so two family members would not eat -- and it was specifically ordered for their lunches only. The Diet Coke I received was a 16oz Bottle and NOT a typical 20oz Bottle. I probably should not have assumed that a $3.00 of Diet Coke would be 20oz, so that's my bad. But 16oz bottles are not packaged for individual sale and at $3.00 it quite a bit of markup. Mistakes happen, no big deal - but when one does an online order AND leave a generous gratuity for whomever coordinates getting the order to the kitchen and to the counter, I would expect that the order would be double-checked/confirmed to be accurate. When I arrived today at the typical lunchtime (12:30pm EST), my order appeared to be the only Take Out order waiting to be picked up, and the dining room and bar were not crowded. So while honest mistakes happen, as I mentioned -- it's clear that someone was able to see/accommodate the special request for the General Tsao's, they should have accommodated the fried rice request or contacted me to see if I still wanted it. The food I had (no special requests for mine) was fresh and delicious. My finicky vegetable and onion hating folks won't eat the rice and turned their nose up at the 16oz bottle of Diet Coke (which they have always done, saying the taste of the soda between the two bottle sizes just isn't the same -- no idea if that's true but they swear it is). Special Dietary Requests? Make sure you either Call and/or triple check before you leave the restaurant so you don't get all the way back to your house (a different town) before you find out and have some hungry, disappointed folks to deal with. read more

I visited on November 21st 2024 and ordered two lunch special. One with chicken vegetable was okay but other lunch of General Tsao's chicken was the worst I have ever tried in last 45 years I am eating out lunch several times a week. Chicken was too much overcooked, not eatable. Due to short time, I have to discarded. During lunchtime between 12:00 and 1:30 PM no customer in entire restaurant, so now I know why. The quality of food is not so great as per my personal experience. read more

The drinks are strong and well made. The food is very good and a great bargain for the price. The bartender Ivy is a very personable server who remembers everyone's name and is alway friendly and positive. Would 10 out of 10 recommend. Great place to watch the games. read more

The menu now includes extensive sushi choices as well as Japanese menu items. They are tasty and include a lunch choice of three with soup including miso. The service is great and the drinks are too. The regular menu never disappoints either! read more

Have you ever had a childhood best friend that you grew up next door to? That friend you would play with almost every day and felt like they just understood everything you were about and knew just how to make you feel better during a tough time. And then one terrible day, that best friend came over during a violent thunderstorm to tell you they were moving away but hoped you could still keep that special connection between the two of you. That's the feeling I got when the Panda Wok in Greenville closed. Like my childhood comfort was being ripped away from me and I didn't understand how I was ever going to cope without being able to stuff my face with the most delicious crab rangoons in the entire world after a bad day. When I go to Townsend panda wok and see Stacy, Alex, and Ivy- it gives me the sensation of seeing that childhood best friend and catching up - like your lives together didn't skip a beat. The food is 100% worth the drive- thankfully for me it is only 24 minutes and 37 seconds now (but I would drive hours for the satisfaction of crunching into those hot wings). With the extension of the bar, I can't wait for the pandemic to be over so I can enjoy a perfectly crafted tall maiThai and forget about all the sorrows in the world. Ten stars. read more

So, I will need to visit Panda Wok again, not on a Friday night, possibly not when the High School is hosting a football game, and possibly not when the world is struggling with staffing issues due to a pandemic. Panda Wok has a lovely interior. I didn't do a full walk through, I came in to order takeaway, and came back in to pick it up. The menu is very interesting, and I was able to find something for everyone. The only thing I would wish for is Chow Mei Foon, but the wide Chow Foon noodles are about as good. $33 for 2 entree dishes and 2 appetizers. Reasonable, and thank you for not including the white rice, hate it! Food quality was okay, nothing spectacular, I am willing to chalk it up to a busy night and maybe a clientele that does not want to wait for it's orders. I'll visit again maybe during the week and see if a little more relaxed demand can make a difference. read more

My favorite chinese place. Crab Rangoons like no one elses. Its the only Chinese restaurant I like to go to honestly. The owner Ivy is great, she runs the bar alot. They are all very nice, the place is clean, been going there since I moved to this area in 2006, never a problem. The bar is like Cheers lol, everyone knows your name. My husband is a townie so he knows them all and likes to have a drink while waiting for our take out. read more

I'm going to go out on a limb and state this is Townsend's most underrated restaurant... this review is for dining in only... Very modern inside. I love the tables with the Chinese inscription.... comfortable to have a conservation with your dining guest. I ordered a Mai Tai and the Beef and Broccoli... it does not come with the hot and sour soup but I added it on anyways.. All excellent.. I really enjoyed every bite.. I wish I had ordered pork fried rice instead of the white rice... if you go for the lunch special.. the soup is included.. and is a super value!!! Overall this was a good price.. less than $50 for two dinner special s and two Polynesian style drinks... wife did wish they served bread.. I didn't miss it... this came with tea too! My wife ordered the special with the chicken cashew (and she loved it)... Service was good too! Have not ordered take out here in a while so no comment! read more

This was the first and last time we will order from Panda Wok. We were only able to eat half and out of it, there were only three items that thought were ok to eat--sesame chicken, 3 beef teriyaki skewers & 2 chicken drums. The rest--crab ragoon, egg roll, spring roll, chicken fingers, general gao chicken, pork fried rice, sweat & sour soup--were either over breaded or over cooked, had no flavor, or dried out. Disappointing meal. Everything was bland, like it was missing some key ingredients. We ordered takeout as we typically do. We did our usual litmus test of the standard appetizers, peking dumplings, an order of General Gau's and some una-avo maki. Combination plates were somewhat generous with the appetizers but light on the rice and entree. Everything was lacking flavor, and wasn't very enjoyable. The peking dumplings were pretty good, with the chicken wings probably being the best of the bunch, though that's not saying much. General Gau's wasn't terrible, but I've had much better elsewhere. My una-avo maki was pretty good, but had a very slight off-flavor to it. I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Prices are a bit higher here than other Chinese restaurants in the area, and the sushi menu seemed rather expensive as well. Service was very pleasant, though, and the interior of the restaurant was rather nice. Though now I'm not surprised why the place was completely empty on a Saturday night. With better options in the area, we will not be rushing back anytime soon. read more

I was here for lunch, yes I'm still here :-) ... it was good I had an J23 alaskan roll and L23 kung pao chicken and shrimp. Everything seemed fresh and prepared well. I was here a few years ago and I was not impressed. but I'm glad I gave it another try. As another reviewer mentioned not as good as Bamboo in Westford but a lot better than Yansee River in Littleton... Glad I gave it another try. I will return to try their Sashimi, that will be their true test and will write another review on the quality and freshness of their sashimi :-) The true test in my book :-) read more

We had been going to Panda since they opened back when we were across the street in high school. Up until about 2 years ago I had zero complaints about this place and had given it 5 stars. Sadly their food AND service quality have gone downhill quite a bit. Help changes frequently and the food has gotten very, very bland with most vegetables and such pulled out of basic things (like pork fried rice being... just rice) Atmospherically the place is great... clean, nice soft music (though sometimes quite random!), clean bathrooms, easy parking, etc. Though I'm not a sushi guy I definitely recommend trying it has always looked amazing when my friends order it! And their drinks... wow. If there's something Panda is known for this is it! Prices are average I suppose. Couple entrées and a pair of drinks runs around $35 or so before tip. read more

Worst service, unprofessional, the food is terrible. The only good thing are the alcoholic drinks so you forget how bad the food is.

I went back! (It's on my way to work sometimes, it's super convenient, damn it.) I had a salmon roll, and I am happy to report that the quality of the fish was much better this time. Maybe I just went on an off day. The sushi chef is very friendly and helpful. And my entree this time had a great flavor. Not "oh my god this is the best food I've ever eaten" great, but certainly "Oh man I need to update my review on Yelp!" good. read more

Waste of money! Sure, the prices are good but the food isn't. I got the combo meal, wonton soup and fried raviolis. I never been here, so I wanted to try some of their items. First I called and the person that answered was rude and didn't even say the company name. So I had to ask her if it was Panda Wok? She didn't seem very happy. The food you get is 1/2 or less of what you would get at other regular Chinese food places. The wonton soup container is 1/2 of what I usually get as a standard small. The container it was in was a sauce container I get from other places. The soup was nasty, the broth was an unnatural color and plain with nothing in it. The fried shrimp was stale and mostly breading. The fried ravioli is gummy and I was afraid it was raw, so I had to re-cook them. Still sucked. The sauce it came with wasn't as good as other places. The bbq ribs had no meat on it and tasted old. The meat was old, so it was dried on the bone. The beef teriyaki was chewy and I couldn't swallow it. When I opened up my combo container, I was SO disappointed. There is usually 3 compartments to the to go container. They filled a the little compartment with fried rice. Usually the bigger compartment is filled with the rice. I must of gotten less than 1 cup of rice with barely any pork in it and 2 pieces of egg. There was barely any rice for my order and I felt so jipped. My husband isn't picky but he wouldn't even eat it and threw it out. He said it tasted funny. The good thing is they require people to wear masks and they also wear masks as well. One thing I didn't like was, when I paid, they had one pen everyone was using and they didn't wipe it down. I bring my own pen now because of this. Other businesses have 2 cups of pens. Ones they wiped down and one for the dirty ones. I'll never go back here again. I've gotten way better food and more portions elsewhere for the same prices. It's a drive but it's better than going back here. Also, better customer service too. It's too bad because this place is so close to my house and it would of been nice to not have to drive far for Chinese food. read more

Panda Wok is good ! We had their Jalapeño Roll and it was fantastic! One of the best rolls I've had. And the spicy tuna and spicy salmon roll are good as well. Great chicken wings and Crab Rangoon too. read more

It's not as good as Bamboo (Westford, Burlington, etc). but its not as terrrrrible as Yee's Village! I live in West townsend and routinely (Friday nights) I drive all the way PAST Yees to Panda Wok... because its just that much better! Panda Wok has TOP Notch sushi! I regularly get the Maki combo, spicy tuna and salmon any sometimes the sushi boat. I have NEVER had anything other than great fresh sashimi and sushi! Don't be afraid to try it!!! Chinese wise.... I stick to the typical. Pupu is good. Fried dumplings are flavorful. Spareribs are grissly and chewy and fatty, not the best Ive had. What I did not like was the lo mein... they use spaghetti noodles rather than traditional chinese style ones. Fried rice lacks veggies..its just whatever protein you choose and some rice... maybe an onion here or there.... Chow Foon is good...albeit a bit greasy. Avoid the "chef specialty dishes", they are over priced at $14-$16 and you dont get Much for that price. Panda, if you are listening: COnsider beefing up your Japanese menu! I'd LOVE to see Udon Noodles on your menu! ALso, Singapore Rice Noodles would be an AWESOME Replacement for some of your little selling dishes. read more

Every town has one of these places. Some are good, great, or just okay. Panda Wok is, well, Panda Wok. Prices are good, food is good, servers are good, and the bar is good. I mean, what more can you ask for? I am giving it a 4 bc it stands out among the Chinese food restaurants in and around my area. There are over 6 Chinese restaurants similar to this one that I frequent. The only other one I rate higher is Asian Imperial, Lunenburg. I will say this, Panda Wok makes REAL Mai Tai's where Asian Imperial's are some fruity version of something totally different than what a Mai Tai should be. read more

Sitting at the bar is your best bet. Ivy is a great and attentive bar tender, drinks and service are usually better at the bar. Sushi is delicious and always fresh. My boyfriend and I go here on the regular, mainly sticking to sushi and the hot wings which are amazing! Soups, appetizers and Peking duck are our go to other than sushi. read more

Been everywhere around Shirley and Panda Wok was the place we have been looking for . Hot, fresh, tasty and fast. Wife and I were working late and need to indulge but thinking Chinese in the Ayer Shirley area always is a let down and I wont go there to avoid sounding like a whiner but why wouldnt I if the food is watered down celery and half turned chicken. BUT PANDA WOK IS DIFFERENT. Actually get too sit and enjoy a nice clean table and cocktail. The food was in good portion and great quality, The chicken finger breading tasted like a fried doe from the beach (without sugar) very crispy and no taste of the fryolater. My entree was Chicken with cashews and I scored a steaming bowl of Egg Drop soup. Actually two bowls because its not my wifes fav..oh well. The Teriyaki was tender as well as the spareribs. I hate when spareribs are all fat and gnarly..NOT here. Panda WOk is the place we will go for now on. Its a little out of our way but worth the extra few miles for sure. read more
