Stopped in for a bite to eat after a long day. I've lived in the area for almost a decade and never had the pleasure of dining here. The place could use a good clean and some organization. I would've given it 5 stars had this place had the proper upkeep. We ordered two Mai tai's and a few appetizers. The chicken teriyaki was absolutely delicious. We also had crab Rangoon and fried rice. They were both excellent but the chicken teriyaki was truly the star. The bartender was so nice and accommodating as the entire bar was full. I will definitely stop in again. read more

I believe the food was spoiled. One bite of the chicken was clearly spoiled rotton and smelled. Another entree was over-cooked as in burnt. Bad day at Yee's. We left our "tasted" meal on the table and walked out. read more

Stay away from this place. One of the deep fried dishes we bought literally smelt like garbage when it was bitten into. When I confronted them about this the guy's face went sour when he smelled the food as well. He wouldnt comp the entire meal either (just the crappy parts). I roasted them by talking about how gross the food was out loud for a while. The server was nice read more

Oh my God worst ever should have known just walking in it looked like the scariest Dive Bar I've ever been in but they advertised Chinese food so I ordered what they said was Chinese food the only combination I liked is on their lunch menu they didn't have it on they didn't have it on there dinner menu it was dinner time I asked could you make this a dinner oh we'd have to make that a specialty make your own combination thing I said well then maybe I should just order one of everything in boxes cuz it's just rice ribs and teriyaki oh no that'll cost more he charged me $17 for what was the lunch menu price of $12 that was terrible considering out of there 27 dinner menus combinations there was only one that they charge $17 for and that was scallops and some other stuff whatever I get it he asked if I need a fork I'm thinking all I can't afford a fork as well nope no thank you I get home the rice looked smelt and tasted burnt the ribs was shriveled dry crumbly and the Teriyaki was half the size of any other place and tasted like candy apples that's what I get for going out to eat without my wife for once do not get Chinese food at a dive bar like for instance don't get a lobster roll at an ice cream parlor read more

Fun, relaxing local fun. Always good conversation - give it a chance for bar food (yum)!.

Do yourself a favor and don't go here. I stopped there with friends because they said the burgers were good. Got a bacon cheeseburger. One bite: realized there was an 'off' taste. Found the bacon to more or less be raw. Removed. Second bite. Still tasted off. Almost 'spoiled'. Stopped eating. Shall not return. read more

So this is one of those old school, no frills, down and dirty (in a good way) Chinese restaurants. We traveled quite a distance for one particular entree that is hard to find -- Wor Hepar. Basically, it's shrimp wrapped in bacon, pan fried and served with "exotic sauce" -- spoiler alert, it has ketchup but don't let that deter you. We ordered a regular and Tito's mai tai, and we definitely felt like they were light on alcohol. The food was definitely good, although the crab rangoons were all cream cheese and not even a hint of crab or scallions. Plenty of room at the large bar, and the food was served quickly. If you're in the area, give them a try. read more

Great staff. Awesome BIG bar and Best Mai Thais in New England! Generous pours on wine. Ask about the secret menu! They have everything you could want from a Chinese restaurant plus American staples like pizza, burgers, salads even teriyaki salmon, tots, delicious salt & pepper chicken and more.** Highly recommend! read more

Stopped by and if you really really need average Chinese, this is the place. It's popular with the locals but it's mostly about the bar and the 8 big screen TVs blasting away from every edge, wall, nook and cranny. read more

Took the wife out here for lunch ,prices are great but the food was awful,we ordered beef egg foo young with pork fried rice that was disgusting and the pupu plater taste like the oil they cooked it in was old .not to mention out front were you park you can see the hood vents on the roof with grease dripping in the gutter and on the siding. Then the cook came out and he didn't look to clean ,my wife looked at him and almost got sick. Then I used the men's room on the way out and there was piss all over the floor the service was good ,The waitress/bartender was nice. Yee's Village Restaurant is a very old school Chinese restaurant and lounge with a divey atmosphere. The dimly lit lounge offers a fully stocked bar with TV, seating at the bar and tables nearby. There's also a separate dining area in the next room. The menu offers the standard Chinese fare as well Szechuan and Polynesian dishes. 15 Luncheon Special Plates ($4.70-$6.45) and 27 Dinner Specials ($5.70-$7.65). During Patriots games, the food is half price at the bar. While I was riding along Route 119 from NH, I decided to stop for dinner takeout at Yee's Village. I ordered the Dinner Special 19 ($7.10 plus tax): Hon Sue Gai, Pork Fried Rice, & Crab Rangoon. The food was ready in about 15 minutes. The portion of food was very generous and heavy, enough food for 2-3 people. The Hon Sue Gai was greasy and slightly overdone, which had big pieces of deep fried battered chicken meat, sauteed with mushrooms, pea pods, broccoli, and Chinese vegetables. The fried rice (brown color) was mostly firm rice with chunks of roast pork and no eggs, lacking flavor. The 4 crab rangoon triangles were good, which were crispy outside, filled with a cream cheese mixture. The food was very filling to eat, so I had some leftovers for a second dinner. read more

Really great Chinese food! Many standards here like chow mein and won tons but also several unique dishes as well. Try the shrimp Wor Ba (bacon wrapped shrimp) for something new. There's a comfortable dining room or you can pick up an order or take out. Their version of hot & sour soup is thick and delicious! You won't be disappointed ! I believe they have a full bar as well but I don't drink. read more

Went in for dinner last night with a couple friends and everything was great! The bartender also doubled as our waitress as we decided to dine in at a table in the bar. She was excellent, as were the drinks and food! We all shared a Pupu platter for 2, veggie lo mein, and a lg order of crab rangoon, which are by far the best around. Food was delicious and came out quick! Totally recommend Yee's if you're looking for great drinks and chinese in the Townsend area! read more

Love the food here as well as the drinks! Everything is super fresh and so tasty. Cashew chicken is my favorite (#22!) but everything I've tried has been awesome. Portions are HUGE! They always bring a second plate just so I can eat it without making a mess! Drinks are probably some of the strongest I've had at a restaurant AND still tasty! Prices are dirt cheap. A mixed drink for around 5 bucks? HUGE plate of food for under 10 bucks? Awesome. Lately they've updated the looks inside and the bar & bathrooms are looking great! And if they really wanted to crush the competition... should offer delivery!! read more

Apparently not for everyone, but I'm sorry I don't live nearby. I love this place. Yes, it's an old building serving Chinese-American food, but what a specimen! It was clean. No spider webs, no dust. I smelled only my food. The fixtures were old, but everything was well maintained. There were houseplants which were all healthy looking. This place is loved. For $7.59 + tip at dinner time, I got friendly service, cloth napkins, hot tea, dinner rolls and ample portions. I've traveled all over the US with my job, and this is unheard of. Also, they have tiki drinks, which are hard to come by at any price, being so labor intensive. I wish I could've tried one. If you see the outside of the building and think, "This might be interesting." Go in. You won't be disappointed. If wood paneling and carpet scares you, or you imagine that you like "authentic" Chinese food (most Americans wouldn't if they ever had it), best try somewhere else. For an old school Chinese restaurant, this is truly a gem. read more

I hadn't been to Yee's Village for about 15 years as it is the Chinese resturant that is twice as far as the closest one. Yes, it is still a "dive". But I am the lover of diners and dives because they tend to be around forever for a very good reason. I will echo what the other reviewers have said: HUGE portions of food with homemade flavors. Tonight we ordered the: 1- **** PuPu Platter for 2 and it was huge enough for 4 people to share as an appetizer or for two people to eat as a meal. Other restaurants will only have 4 types of food in their platter, Yee's has 6 ! The egg rolls (homemade and biggest I have ever had), beef teriyaki (thick and plentiful) and chicken wings (juicy and giant) were tops. The boneless ribs were mixed with over cooked or just right. The fried food was average. 2- ***** Peking Ravioli. I should have counted how many but there were at least 6 in there. They are handmade and really good, and now a favorite of our 8yo Peking ravioli expert. 3- ** Veggie Fried Rice. This lacked flavor and was too oily for our tastes. It wasn't salted at all. The highlight of this dish was the fresh veggies that Yee's uses. 4- ***** General Gau's Chicken. This meal is NOT chunks of chicken that are dipped in batter and then fried resulting in balls of batter saturated in Gen Tso's sauce. This Gen. Gau's is made of longer strips of white breast meat (Not cubed like the menu says) that is breaded, fried, and coated in a sweet but spicy sauce so you get mostly chicken instead of fried batter. There is also steamed broccoli on the side. You pay for chicken and you get chicken. 5- **** Beef Lo Mein. So good. Made with Chinese spaghetti, it has this yummy flame kissed flavor and a good balance of veggies and beef. I found the feel to be a little tough so I took off 1 star for that. 6 - ***** Lg Fried Wings. Yeah, I got more wings. My kids love wings and these were the best around. They are marinated and fried up juicy, but not overly crispy. Did I mention they were HUGE and you get a lot of them? A few things to know when ordering take out from Yee's. When you order a large (rice, noodles, etc), it is the 4 cup size box, not the 2 cup box like at other restaurants. You really get a lot of food for your money here. When you get a cold container of liquidy brown stuff, that is homemade duck sauce (and not that pink junk from a bottle like other places). The Chinese mustard will burn your nosehairs, but it is still really good! read more

My husband picked up the food so I have no comment on what the place looked like, or the atmosphere. . .but as far as quality Chinese food goes, RUN don't walk as far away from this place as possible. Wow. It brings being disappointed to a whole new level. I don't know if it was just a really bad night, but I don't think we'll be taking a second chance on this place ever again. We like to buy enough so that we snack on it for the next day or two. No snacking from this place at all. Nothing went into the fridge for a maybe later. The fried rice was quite obviously old. Some had hardened and there was an oily film on it. It also had an odd taste to it; I'm guessing very old fryer oil, though it did remind me somehow of a mild liquid soap too. VERY strange. It set the tone for being afraid to eat the food, with good reason. When I opened the lo mein (or as my 2 & 3 yr olds call it, "Chinese Spaghetti" which they love and I can count on them to eat) - I was psyched because it had water chestnuts in it. But rest assured, after one taste, neither myself or our kids could swallow it. It was greasy, again with old fryer oil and had absolutely no flavor what-so-ever, including the beef. One of my favorite things to eat (and nibble for the next day or two as a snack) is beef teriyaki. My boys will eat them too. Yee's Village were inedible. They had no flavor at all. Picture taking slabs of meat, sticking them with a skewer and then boiling them. That's what it reminded me of while eating a few bites of one. It is unheard of for me to not like even a fair teriyaki beef stick, but this went right into the trash (with the rest of our order)... Eggroll - over cooked to a dark brown and dry inside, and I was mildly afraid while eating it because I was worried I'd get sick from food poisoning. - I'm not making that up, that's what I was thinking while eating them. The chow mein had no flavor, even the beef was flat, flavorless, chewy and tough. My husbands favorite appetizer is the Crab Rangoon - and if you wonder who could make a bad Crab Rangoon, look no further. The filling tasted only like cream cheese. The outside was over cooked, heavy and soggy not crispy and light. I've seen my husband eat an entire order himself, and even he didn't finish his first Crab Rangoon from this place. It was a very disappointing experience to say the least. We aren't fussy, either. I actually like greasy "bad-for-you" food, but not when it tastes like old oil and dish soap - or has not flavor at all. The chicken wings had a decent taste but they weren't cooked long enough. They should be crispy not fatty. *sigh* Props for spare ribs - though fatty, they were the typical ribs one would expect (I'm guessing pre-packaged since they were edible), also props for homemade duck (or plum) sauce and for being a place that still offers dinner rolls (so few places do now-a-days). That's the only thing worth eating there from our experience. Sad too because they are so close to our home. read more

Ok, it's old. It's dingy. The food is greasy Americanized Chinese food. Pretty much what you find all over New England. Still, the family that owns and operates this place are some of the nicest people. The drinks are fantastic. You can still have a little flame pot with your pupu platter! Worth it! read more

It's got it ALL! Dirt, Grime, Outdated Decor, Old fry oil and well worn rugs! Bar is a strange circular shape so you have to sit facing other poor schlubs! Place was gross... I was off put upon even stepping in to grab takeout. We had a coupon and decided to try it. Food was Super greasy. It is what chinese used to be, before "gourmet chinese" places started popping up. When compared to Panda Wok or Bamboo, its disgusting. I went once, got the pupu, rice, some other stuff and honestly my wife and I looked at eachother and said "never again!" Place needs a complete renovation and upgrade to the menu. Lacks appeal inside and out and the food is wretched!! read more

I went here yesterday 12....21...14 I got lo mein a chicken dish and spring rolls. 1st off I got in and you could tell right off the bat this place is a DIVE. This place is so run down I just wanted to leave not sure why I didn't. I would have to say it doesn't look like it's been cleaned in decades. Anyways the food came out and it was so bland it really had no taste. If I could give this place neg star I would. I definitely will not go back here. read more

I've had Mai Tais in Chinese restaurants for fifty years, but the Mai Tais made by Jaclyn at Yee's Village are masterful. Apart from being the most hard-working bartender on the East Coast, she has a memory for your food orders and drink favorites that is remarkable. Our family regards this as a little oasis, and frequents it often - and love to bring new customers. The food is above average, with huge portions at bargain prices. It has a neighborhood bar atmosphere, with many regular patrons. The drinks are strong, but so much better than the sweet powdery Polynesian drinks served in most Chinese restaurants. Don't be deterred by its modest appearance. read more

On Sat.March 29th,2014, my husband and I stopped in to have a drink and to put in an order for some take out. After finishing our 1 beer and 1 glass of wine, we wanted to get another round of drinks and put in our order for take out. But the bartender was not standing behind the bar like he should have been, but instead talking to a customer on the other side of the bar. We were completely ignored, eveny waiving my hand to get his attention didn't work.. So I figured he didn't need the business, so we paid for our one round of two drinks and left. We found ourselves in the area and tried it out. First of all, the staff are absolutely amazing. Secondly, the cocktail menu with some favorites like "dr funk of tahiti" is like 4 pages long. Thirdly, drinks derived from said menu are ridiculously strong. I had sipped approximately 1/3 of my "pineapple passion" (from what I can tell, a glass of dark jamaican rum with a dash of pineapple juice and maybe another flavor in there) and was so in the bag that the food tasted like the best chinese food ever. Clearly the food was good to above average, the chicken was very juicy and honestly everything was fresh. I'd probably be here once a month if I lived in the area. read more
