First of all i would give this place a 5 star because my hairstylist was awesome. Reya I believe is her name. However, the manager charged me a fortune for a overall hair color. Please know I have shoulder length hair and its very fine. $145 for hair color, the manager/owner stated that it was a corrected hair coloring. How is that correcting all they did is mix the hair color and put it on the hair. She also stated that it was a special technique. OMG what technique mixing colors together and applying the hair color is not a technique. Anyhow $145 for hair is way too much, I am not cheap and never been but not even Tony & Guy or Ulta charge $145 for hair color. This is an outrage!!!!!!!! read more

I was really upset with how the owner treated me. I had let my eyebrows grow out because I wanted a really clean threading, So I made sure to not tweeze prior to. I walked in Valentines day and there was no waiting line. Ok so I tell her that I do NOT want my natural arch changed, nothing off the top, just to clean them up. I love the natural shape of my brows. She asked, "do I want them thinner?" I said, "NO." Again, I like the fullness of my brows. So she starts to do the first one, about 10 minutes in she hands me the mirror and I said, "oh no I don't like it, can you fix it and make my shape come back, they look flat." So then, the next time she hands me the mirror they are now thinner! At this point I want to cry, they are a different shape AND thinner. I tell her to just at least make the other side match so they can grow out evenly. She gets really agitated and before I can even defend myself, she starts to yell at me, (at this point there are people waiting,) yelling that I told her to make them thinner. I said," NO I told you NOT to make them thinner or lose the natural shape." I was really unhappy; she stormed out of the room, I was wondering if she was coming back, nope...she left me on the table, went to the register, started to ring me up, didn't even wipe my face. I was furious with how she treated me. There was no need to yell at me. If she would have just been apologetic or somewhat compassionate, I would have understood, hey sometimes they mess up, it happens, but the way she acted, how unprofessional. 1 star only because the place was very nice and clean. read more

Not sure if the salon is running a scam or not. Came in for a Brazilian blowout with groupon (which they tried to get me to cancel with groupon when I called to make the appointment because "we don't make any money on it." I called groupon but they put me on hold too long...) Appointment went fine - even gave me a mask to wear (although as a frequent person in an operating room I know the type of mask given is actually meant to be a physical barrier and no use against fumes etc). They were actually quite nice and I got a mini bottle of water. The confusing part was that after I got my hair flat ironed the stylist sent me on my way with some conditioning mask squeezed into a random plastic bag and instructions to not wash my hair until Friday (the day was Tuesday) and then rinse it with water only and apply the stuff she squeezed into a plastic bag on my hair. I was a bit confused about this part (why would they leave stuff in my hair they themselves use gloves and masks to handle??) Mind you I have extra much of this product in my hair since my hair was long enough to be charged their $25 up charge for long hair. So I googled - and after not finding any other salon that talked about sending clients home in the manner I was sent home, I called the salon back - but the lady who answered told me the stylist that did my hair was gone for the day and said she didn't know what the process was. I asked her to call or text her to confirm because I could come back immediately and get it washed out. She called me back saying the stylist was in class...but now assured me what they did was normal. Still skeptical, I called the Brazilian Blowout company, who informed me they were supposed to rinse, condition, and reblowout my hair after the flat ironing step and advised me to go wash it out immediately. Also told me the only thing I can really do is file a complaint with the board of cosmetology...but I felt that was a bit extreme considering I didn't have all the facts. So I called the salon back, and this time the receptionist told me she'd get the owner to call me back. The owner was quite nice and gracious - she told me leaving the product in the hair for days was normal and what they saw worked better with clients depending on their type of hair. She offered to rinse it out the next day since by this time it was close to 6:30pm and their closing time...but I told her I was more paranoid about my health and wanted to go wash it out immediately. So I did. No shampoo, mask for 10 minutes. And now it's the morning after...and I still am not sure how my hair looks because I don't really care at this point. It looks kinda the same as before - maybe a smudge flatter. But I do have this crazy headache. Perhaps it's the Texas heat. I am more paranoid about cancer. I want to believe them but at the same time I'm not convinced. I guess I feel partly jipped - if they really thought the product needed to be in my hair longer, why didn't they set up another visit with me for Friday to complete the process? And if they understood my health concern, why didn't she offer to reopen up her salon immediately to take care of it? It just screams in many ways a scam - or simply a poorly run and executed business. The service industry is a hard business to be in - but at least do what you advertise? Two stars because they were nice and for the part of the service I did receive, I thought it was done with good technique and finesse. read more

I have been getting my eyebrows threaded for probably 7 years now and have frequented many many places in the Dallas metroplex. Karizma is the only threading salon that doesn't manage to take the ends of my eyebrows off when threading. As everyone knows, those ends take forever to grow back!!! The owner at Karizma has been working for months now to get mine back to their original shape and thickness and she's doing a very good job. Although it is somewhat out of the way for me to drive to, I am done going to threading salons based on convenience! I made the decision to just make the drive to Addison every two weeks because that's how great their work is there! read more

I ve had 12 Brazilian Blowout treatments at 3 different salons. I don't know why the reviewer below is complaining about her Brazilian Blowout treatment being left in when she left . It is pretty normal . I've had it both ways...the solution is either left in or they wash it out on the same day. If it's left in most salons will give you some of the Brazilian Blowout mask to use when you wash it the first time. I now prefer to have it left in. Stylists always wear gloves when they do chemical services whether it's color or perms or Brazilian Blowout . It seems if you are paranoid about cancer then this is not something that you should do anyway. I was very satisfied with the Brazilian Blowout I had done at Karizma, as well as the color services and threading. I've had one BB there and 3 color services. Website says there is a summer special going on for waxing which is the reason we made the trip over to this place. Get to the salon and the one woman working doesn't even acknowledge us. 20 minutes later I have to ask how much more the wait will be. Once she finally gets to us, she says there is no such deal so I open up their website and show it to her. Then she says the summer special that's stated on the website is from 2017 which they "forgot" to take down (even though no year was listed). Still refuses to acknowledge the special, takes my phone from me to see which website I'm talking about. Goes to the back to discuss it with her manager. End up waiting another 15 minutes. Eventually comes back out and says they can't acknowledge it. Never coming back, extremely rude staff. and UPDATE YOUR WEBSITE. read more

Definitely not a place for keratin treatment! They charged me 40$ extra for the thickness of my hair. However, treatment did not show any result after the 1st wash even though i used same shampoo and conditioner they recommended that i had ordered from the official website. My hair was back to being frizzy again. i went back to show them after my 1st wash and they told me get the deep conditioning done which is an another extra charge.Waste of Money! I have been a loyal customer for 10 years and i have yet to have a complaint. Nabia is an amazing business owner and person inside and out. She cares for her company and her customers there have been times where she has stayed past business hours just to take care of clients, knowing that she is tired and ready to go home. I will say she has offered me tips on keeping maintenance on eyebrows, laces, and facials she does it all!!! i don't know how someone has something bad to say about karizma salon. i know she keeps my eyebrows on point each and everytime and i always leave with 100% satisfaction , i love the reaction to people when i tell them "No these aren't drawn on, no i didn't shade these bad boys in, these are my natural eyebrows. I haven't been to any other threading place since i met Nabia and i don't plan on it either, its a one stop shop why let that go. so take my advice go to Karizma salon the price is unbeatable. i love Rosie here !! i found her when i first moved here and she has been my go to salon for everything now .. be it waxing threading or even hair !! she cut my hair and it was perfect as i wanted not overly done .. i love the big chandelier in the middle here and always end up clicking photos .. salon is clean , well kept and chic .. also the prices reasonable and i can pay extra for the services .. The owner is a very pretty lady and always welcoming you warmly , she gave me little bits how to take care of skin and hair and never do a sales pitch as other salon .. i end up talking a lot more with all of them and always make a good time out of it !! see you soon guys ! read more

I had a Groupon for a Brazilian blowout and Rosy was helpful and efficient. Sometimes stylists don't read their clients well and get very talkative, but I tend to find it more relaxing to get my hair done with minimal conversation. She was fast but thorough, and she answered every question I had. Moreover, the salon is gorgeous and immaculate with beautiful decor and good music! Above all, my hair is like SILK. I am waiting 24hrs to wash out the treatment, but my husband already loves it. I couldn't find anything else that would control my frizz, but this seems to have done the trick! I really like this place. I have had such bad experiences in the past with getting my full face waxed so I was hesitant to try the threading. They talked to me for a bit before doing the threading and gave me some really good pointers on how to take care of my face right after the threading. Went to this place yesterday and they really messed up my eye brows. One is smaller than the other and they made them really short and stubby. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Karizma Salon is ok for getting your eyebrows done, but that is it. Buy anything there and it doesn't work for you, you will have all kinds of problem. The flatirons they sell that there not suppose to be sell are a knockoff, and Maria done my hair and said it would last for 6mo. & it is falling out and I can't do anything to my real hair because of the extension. I was very clear that I did not want my eyebrows to be thinner, just cleaned up. The lady that was threading them took WAY too much off. They are much thinner than they were when I came in, and that is not what I wanted. On top of that, she didn't even bother to wipe all the loose hair off my face. I had planned to run a couple other errands, but I decided to go right home to clean up my face instead. I think the lower reviews may have been under a different owner or threaders. I've been to two different threaders for my eyebrows and they both have been flawless! They are a little more expensive than most indian places ($10), but considering I switched from my $8 place to this one should be a testament to how much better they are. They take their time and make sure your brows are shaped nicely. Other places, like Heena Salon (which I went to once), have really rude people and are done in what feels like 2 min. I've found average salons in Dallas that can do a decent clean up job, but Karizma is the only place where I walked out of there feeling glamorous! read more

Best Brazilian Blowout I've had in years. After the stylist who used to do my Brazilian blowouts moved to New York, I tried to find a replacement stylist at a few different salons in Uptown and they were all average at best. I bought a Groupon for a Brazilian blowout at Karizma after reading the Yelp reviews and I agree that it's awesome. After washing the Brazilian blowout out and blow drying my hair, my usually frizzy curly hair is basically straight. I also got a trim while I was there and the cut looks a lot better than haircuts I've paid 3x as much for. I'll definitely be going back! read more

I was promised that the brazilian blowout will stay for atleast 6 weeks but after 1 week, yes just after 1 week my hair was back like it was before and the whole money was down the drain :( And a week after that when i went there again to show my problem, firstly the lady was not very kind to me then she bluntly told me that I should have gone there earlier as it was already 2 weeks. I didn't understand because the blowout was supposed to stay for 6 weeks and after 2 weeks she didn't take any responsibility. NEVER EVER get your hair colored/highlighted at this salon. They have no idea what they are doing. Nadia, the owner, promised she would post a credit to my credit card for the amount of my highlight and she never processed the credit. I was not only lied to about the credit to my cc but also about the fact that they were feverishly trying to correct the color at the bowl. I was at the bowl for at least an hour while they tried to correct my highlights and I was told the reason was that they were adding low lights. I've been having my hair highlighted for 20 years and therefore, I am aware that low lights are applied just like highlights, in foils, so I knew what they were doing and didn't appreciate being lied to about it. While I was in the chair, there was another client who was unhappy with her color and her complaint was glossed over and she was told that her hair looked great and not to worry. got a Brazilian blowout here and it's amazing. my hair is naturally wavy and a bit frizzy and the treatment makes it so it now dries straight and with much less frizz. it didn't make my hair pin straight and left some body, which is what I wanted. totally gave me the hair texture I've always longed for and I'll definitely go back (also got an eyebrow threading done while I was there and my brows look great, much better than when I have them waxed) read more

I wish I could give negative star. I had a very bad experience. I am writing my review little late but I thought should share it with you all. I got my Brazilian blowout at this place. When I went for my appointment, they all were very sweet but when I went home after the treatment, it was horrible. Your hair supposed to be nice , shiny and less curly but it did not do anything like that for me. When I called back after 2 days to check with them, they asked me to come to the salon. When I went there , I met with the owner lady and she said that they did a good job. She blamed it on my shampoo I was using. When I told her that I use Brazilian blowout shampoo, she said that oh I think ur shampoo is fake. Then I bought shampoo from them thinking that it will make it better but it did not. Then I called again, she said that they can do it again but I will have to pay little less than before. I did not like that but I thought ok I will give it a try. I called again after few days to make an appointment. The girls said that we cannot do it anymore because it's been so long now. We can't do it for less $$$. If I needed it then I will have to pay the same amount again. Never looked back but I thought I should warn other people about their quality of services and the staff is so rude. read more

It's a little crowded in there now that she has 2 hairstylists, but you're only there a few minutes so it's not a big deal. Found this place through Groupon for Brazilian Blowout(for $72). I called the Salon to check if they would accept the Groupon before I buy it. They suggested me not to buy the groupon and asked me to walk in for the same day appointment available that evening for the same groupon price. The hair stylist/owner Nabia checked my hair and said she would do an up charge of $40 because of the length and volume. That was a surprise for me, but I agreed to pay before she started working on my hair. In the middle of the process she asked me whether I need a hair cut/ trim, I said yes. She continued with the hair cut / trim but never told me there was an upcharge of $35 more(I found it as a surprise at the time of billing). The total service lasted close to 1.5 hour(including hair wash, hair cut/trim everything) ,fastest Brazilian Blowout I ever got it done. She gave me a cream to apply after 24 hours to my hair and suggested to wash it in 30 minutes, which I did. Surprisingly my hair is 70% back to my normal original fizzy and wavy hair which never happened with any of my Brazilian blowouts I got it done in the past. It would take at least couple of washes for me to see traces of my Original wavy hair in the past, but very surprisingly after the first wash with their product. That freaked me out and called them. The stylist/owner have a very bad attitude and said the only thing she could offer is to check my hair and do one more wash & apply the product if I could only see them in the next 24 hours. I wasn't comfortable to risk visiting them 2nd time to avoid more damage to my hair and to avoid any surprise expensive upcharges. Overall it is a horrible experience for the expensive price I paid. read more
