Used to be a nice place. Then it slowly went downhill and now there are cockroaches and it's dirty.

I bought a groupon for a service of full hair color but I did not realized what it meant by that since I had a pevious color on my hair in order to get a different one, hair needs to be bleach etc. So i got upset expecting to get the service that I wanted but Melissa was such a good person and find a solution to the problem. Instead she offered me a highlights of the same color that I want. Turned out real nice and i love it!! Thanks to her for making me feel great and for taking care of customer like me. read more

I found Myra on Instagram and was really impressed with her work! Prior to my appointment I showed her my goal and how my hair looked (I wasn't expecting to reach my goal in just one session). I went in for my appointment, showed her the pictures and we got started. While I'm okay with how my hair turned out it is nothing like what I was going for - not only that but I asked her to cut layers into my hair and only cut a couple inches from the very last layer... LET ME TELL Y'ALL THIS IS THE WORST HAIRCUT I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. The haircut is so uneven and choppy and so many inches shorter than what I had asked for. Simply put - the whole experience is overpriced. I am all about paying someone what their work is worth but my far Myra's work is NOT worth $300+. She listens to what you want and created a cut layered bob for me that helps my thin hair look fuller . She is a pleasure to talk to and knows what she is doing ! I bought a Groupon and used Melissa. I had wanted highlights but she said my hair was too damaged which she was right my hair was extremely damaged. She said she'd do the brown base color which I said fine. As she's coloring she says she'll throw in a few highlights. Now I like my highlights blonde and I had told her in the beginning I don't like brassy. She only left the color in 25 minutes-not near enough time for my hair to lift. Now I am left with hair that looks brassy and an ugly cut which my boyfriend said immediately looks horrible. Not happy read more

Do not go here! I repeat DO NOT GO HERE! They do not honor their business nor the work their half rate stylist do. Kate is average & undeserving of the confidence she portrays! I'm a skeptical person; however, it's pretty hard to screw up a basic highlight request. Bravo to Kate--not only did she screw up, they're not there! Nothing! My hair looked no different than when I sat my fat ass in the chair. I mentioned to her they were not right. She boldly without knowing me all of one previous visit told me I always say this... Fair enough! So I kindly, tip her 50.00 dollars, because that's me, give her the benefit of the doubt & go home! Fast forward...no change! I call & I'm forced to schedule on her schedule--NOT. Secondly, no call or follow-up from her. Now I'm getting pissed...several calls to the owner, now I want a refund. Still no call back NOTHING! I'm so pissed at this crappy service that I'm calling the TX Board of Cos. I'm visiting this craphole personally! I'm calling American Express & disputing the charge for service that I'm clearly not happy with or received! I tipped in good faith. The poor lack of client care & service is sickening. Codi is awesome!! I just moved to Texas two months ago and prior to leaving California I thought I'd get my hair done since it would take me awhile before I found someone I liked in the Dallas area. Well, that ended up being a mistake. Long story short for the first time ever my hair had been fried by a stylist and she managed to turn my blonde hair brassy and then overprocessed it to orange! I had to wait two months to let it grow out and thankfully I did because it led me to Codi. The timing was right. I called The Color Studio and they put me on hold. Codi then got on the line, asked me a few questions and then asked if I could be there in 45 minutes. I said yes! She told me she was booked solid but could squeeze me in. And she did just that. While working between other clients she managed to pull of an incredible hair color that I absolutely LOVE!! She was very nice to talk to and quick on her coloring technique. After talking to her I found out she just left a place where all she did was mostly hair coloring which made me feel really good knowing she's pretty experienced. I would highly suggest Codi for any hair needs. When I got home my husband instantly noticed my hair and raved about it. Now you know this is agreat hair stylist when you come home and your husband notices it. read more

Bought a Groupon for here because it had such high ratings and was the "most bought" Groupon for haircuts in the area. When I booked the appointment the lady was very nice and actually got me booked for the next day. This should have been my first warning. She booked me with "Chris". I asked if he had a portfolio I could look at (to see if the work he had done was comparable to what I wanted). The lady said he was new to the salon, but not new to cutting hair so they did not have a portfolio for him. I settled and just went with it. Arrived on Saturday morning and walking into the salon. The median age in there was 60. It looked like a great place for my grandma to get her short hair cut, colored and curled. I called in for a cut and color and am 23 years old. So I may have previously accidentally reviewed Cameron for the wrong salon so here it goes again! Cameron is an amazing colorist and stylist. She did an amazing job of utilizing her knowledge about hair cut and color to find different shades to not only meet my requests but also to perfectly match my skin tone, eye color, and face shape. I also had her style hair for my 6 bridesmaids, myself, my mother, and stepmother, as well as stepsister. She was able to quickly and efficiently take care of all the women in my bridal party without any stress or being rushed for time. Everyone's hair looked flawless all night. I have never had to worry about trying anything new with Cameron and feel comfortable giving her free reign to use her creative expertise to help me look my best!!! read more

Chris was very professional and listened to exactly what I wanted with my hair, and it turned out absolutely fantastic! I can't believe someone gave the salon a bad review because the clientele was "a median age of 60". Angie is the best all around. She cuts and her color is authentic. I wanted highlights but I also wanted to try a tint of red that would wash off a couple of days after just to get a feel. It was her idea since I wasn't really sure since I wanted both. Talk about having your cake and eating it too! I got the best highlights and I got numerous compliments on the red. After the red eventually washed off I was glad to have the highlights back. Her cut made my hair grow out longer and full. She was so pleasant at referrals for other services and great company. Worst salon ever, Chris a stylist there purposely messed up my hair cut after being rude to me the whole time and then just walked off at the end of my haircut. He didn't leave my hair soft and shiny like I usually get when I pay for a cut, deep conditioning and style at other salons. I left the salon in tears. Went here for a haircut and had a groupon. It was VERY clear the person cutting my hair didn't want me to be there. She barely said three words to me about what I wanted and when I asked her what her opinion was she threw it back to me and said whatever I wanted. She finished my hair cut in 15 minutes and didn't bother to ask if I was happy with it, took the cape off and sent me to the front. I understand I'm there on a GROUPON, but if you don't want customers coming in with discounts, then don't offer them! Do not go here if you have a Groupon...well, on second thought do not go here at all I went here with a Groupon and explained both at the time of my appointment, and when I met the stylist that the service I wanted (color) was as listed on the Groupon. The stylist at the time (Candance) did the color and then put highlights in saying "oh, you will just pay for the highlights, not the other part." WRONG! When I went to check out the receptionist informed me that my service did not qualify for the Groupon, and I would have to pay full price. Full price is outrageous; you would think a celebrity stylist was doing my hair rather than a mediocre stylist that made my red hair ORANGE. Receptionist told me that I could use the Groupon next time, "like, when you need your roots touched up" Whatever, never mind that the Groupon is for full all-over color right?? Time goes by, and I call to make an appointment to use the Groupon, and the receptionist now tells me "we will not accept that, you are no longer a new client" I calmly explained the situation about the prior appointment and she became snotty and said "those people do not work here anymore, and we will not accept your Groupon, you should read the fine print" At that point I had to hang up to keep from losing it. Perhaps this is a problem with Groupon, or perhaps (after reading some other reviews here) this salon really just is into using a bait and switch on people. If so, SHAME ON YOU. They really need to work on customer service and honoring their commitments. read more

Good thing I got a groupon, so I didn't pay full price for something that was just mediocre. I should've read these reviews earlier and asked for Jennifer, since she seems like she gets great reviews. My stylist didn't say a word to me, aside asking what I wanted to do. When I frist walked in, she bluntly said, "Take a seat, we need to talk" Then proceeded to let me know they couldn't color my hair, because it was dark and would require more than a "single color" process provided by my groupon. I understood and that was fine, since I received a great conditioning instead. But, again, where was the customer service? Literally, the only words that came out of her mouth during the cut was, "How short?" "Long layers?" "Done!" Geez, and I'm a pretty friendly person and this is the first time I felt like I was an inconvenience to someone. Granted, I liked my cut. Average, nothing exciting. Not thrilled, but my hair was in desperate need of a cut, anything would've looked good. This is something minor, but another annoyance: She moved the hair cutting cape over and I guess she didn't realize (or care) that my bare legs were exposed, so tiny hairs fell on it and I was itchy the rest of the day until I showered. I felt like the salon is geared towards an older, senior citizen crowd. As I felt I was the only 20 something in there. No big deal, just thought I'd point it out. But would I come back to this place? Definitely not. Maybe it was just a bad day for her, but she soured my first and last experience at that salon. read more

Nhi is nice but took 1hr to mix the color for my hair because she was consulting with another stylist. After 4 hours of color and toning and damaging my hair, she overbooked and I has to curl my own hair so she could get another client. She charged over $160 expected me to pay full price despite the damage that was done! The manager was unprofessional and rude! OMG! I went here on a Groupon and LOVED it! Scott changed the yellowish tint on my blonde hair to a more ashy color and added lowlights. I love it! He also took the time to show me how to blow dry and style my hair to get that volume I want without it being "big Dallas hair"! Scott recommended Kerastase hair serum for my dry hair. I was wary, but he said he'd used it for 3 years and truly believes in the brand. I decided to give it a try over my Garnier Fructis, and I'm really happy I did! My boyfriend loves my hair! He keeps complimenting me on how soft it is and how he loves the color. Just a tip - The Color Studio is next to Kroger (big turn off when I realized this) on Campbell - not visable from Preston. Once you go inside, you'll notice the place is giant! I'm glad I gave this place a chance with it's odd location. I'm definitely dumping Toni & Guy and seeing Scott from now on! I arrived at my appointment 10 minutes early and was accommodated right away. Jennifer did a consultation on my hair and was very knowledgable with over 15 years of experience. I had gone to this hair salon all the way from Frisco ... but was very much disappointed with the service and the haircut which was done by Wesley apparently who has very good reviews. I had purchased the voucher from groupon for haircut and highlights after reaching there on time for the appointment the hairstylist refused that i don,t have u down for highlights its just for the haircut ... then i had to show him the voucher then he calmed down . After that he said we cannot do highlights on my hair you will have to go with regular hair service ...i agreed to it because i really needed a haircut and did'nt have time to spare another day for the same . But he did such a lousy haircut . I had asked him to do shoulder length layers but he chopped my hair upto ear length .... i'm so very upset with my look due to this haircut .On top of that now i have to follow up with groupon to refund my money . Went to get my hair done using a groupon for $69 with Jennifer who works here. I was told she specializes in curly hair..I trusted them and BIG MISTAKE! She ruined my hair. I couldn't tell the cut very well due to my curly hair but today I straightened it and my friends thought my kid cut my hair. It is a disaster. Totally uneven and miserably done. I would be taking it up with the salon management had I not be leaving the country today for my vacation. I will be getting back however and speaking to someone who can patiently listen. First she got the color all wrong, then tried to fix it..then messed up my cut and then tells me "it looks good". She knew she did a horrible job with me since I did not tip her. I know for sure I will never go there. I just want my hard earned money back. Someone better be refunding me for Jennifer's lack of knowledge. Please stay away! read more
