Salon Jonas does not deserve your money. I was fired last week because the manager found out i thought i was pregnant. She then claimed i lied about it, which was quite false. And I'm pretty sure illigal. There was something else about refusing a service.. which should have never been booked and i was asked up front if it should be moved to another stylist. I had JUST recieved a performance review three days prior that was nothing but glowing praise. From my attendance and work around the shop, to the revenue and tips i was bringing in with my work. That same day there were some very choice, quite racist talk from the front desk. He chose to speak about Indian women, claiming that they smell bad, are finicky, and then mocked the accent. And then shockingly referred to them as "curry queens" in a very derogatory manner Not coincidentally, two days later she decided to fire my partner who had been a loyal employee for 6 years... claiming he had missed too much work... when he had been legitimately sick twice. He was fired through a text message and asked to collect his things. The stylists are fantastic, but over worked and grossly underpaid. read more

Actual worst experience of my life. Went in for a balayage and came out with the worst hair I've ever seen in my life, no joke. Stylist sent me home with wet hair and told me to call if I didn't like it (red flag). My hair will be ruined for MONTHS!!! I also had to chop off 4 inches because my hair was fried. Scheduled an appointment initially with Jada. She was very sweet and listened very well to what I asked for, which was 3 inches off and a layered vcut. She suggested I go to a more experienced stylist, which at the time I appreciated. Mike, unfortunately while very nice, did a horrible cut on my hair. I reiterated what I was asking for and he got to it. When he finished, I had lost 8 inches (I went home and measured) instead of the 3 I requested. I will post before (1 month ago) and after pics and the reference pic I showed him. I was informed later that he is a "master" level stylist. I will go back tomorrow to try to get it fixed and will update my review depending on how that goes read more

Don't go. Read the other bad reviews on Yelp. They are there for a reason! Took our son who has wavy hair to get a clean-up haircut. Showed the stylist a picture as an idea and also stated we don't want it too short. She proceeded to use a "two" clipper even though we said no, not what we wanted. Her exact quote "I need to do what the person paying is asking not what you want." No one called us back over to consult and say there seems to be inconsistency between what you said and the client is wanting. She just proceeded to chop his hair. It looks nothing like the photo at all. She left a shelf on his head. Come to find out this same stylist cut a friend of ours hair a few months prior and left in tears. Listen to the client. Consult if unsure. Stay longer with the hair - you can always go shorter. Isn't this a common rule on hair? Completely ruined his final weeks of Senior year for him and us. Will never go back. Never. What a great experience! My first time going to Salon Jonas. Called and let the person chose stylist for me ( after short discussion about my needs, scheduling ,etc.). Kat was chosen to be my stylist. A great fit. She is professional ( customer before me had been late)I was waiting just a moment when she let me know. Been a customer for a few years now, and today I showed up on time and waited about 15 minutes to learn my stylist was not coming in. Not that she was running behind or going to be late- she wasn't at the salon and didn't plan on coming in- no explanation or reason, just extremely sorry she wasn't coming in?!?! What is that? Your apologies don't cover the precious time a mom with a young child has for things like this or the childcare I needed to arrange to even be able to come to this appointment. The cut was quick. I had a really uneven haircut at another salon about 8 months ago and decided to try a higher end salon out. I'm not going to put the name of the stylist. I wanted a one length to get damaged ends off and a little bit of an angle to give shape. She did not check the haircut. And she pulled all my hair to the back and cut it all at once. I had her fix some of it. After getting home and drying and straightening my hair, I noticed the right side is significantly longer than the left. The one thing I asked was to please make sure the haircut was even because the last salon and lady who did it cut it uneven as well. I will not be back and will be looking for a new stylist. read more

Went in for a consultation. Booked an appointment was not able to make the appointment due to an emergency and the last thing someone thinks about with an urgent issue is calling the salon to cancel a hair appointment. Later in the day received a vm from DJ that was very rude and unprofessional in several aspects. He mentioned I wasted his 2 precious hours of his time and that I am no longer welcome to the salon and that I was going to be billed? I would definitely not be returning if that is how someone is treated. Must be seriously desperate for 2 hours to leave such a cruel vm. I had the most amazing experience here thanks to Erica and David! I went in to get my hair colored, and Erica did an awesome job. Everyone here was super friendly, fun, and professional. The salon well kept with everything looking very organized and neat. All of the stylists were having genuine interactions with their clients, which is always a good sign. I am now a soon to be regular, and already have a follow up appointment. I would highly recommend Erica for a good, high quality color, and David for a top notch cut and style. read more

I just happened to find this jem right next-door to pancake house and ultimately did some shopping while I was waiting for my reservation. The salon manager, Kevin, was super helpful, super sweet and super kind! Will definitely be going back and doing some more shopping damage! This place was a little out of the way but because a friend invited me there, i drove the distance to get my hair "did". When I walked in, the hostess was very gracious and Emily greeted me soon after. She is a new stylist so i had great doubts about her but it was cheap so what the heck... hair grows back right? After weeks of searching for the best salons in Dallas, I decided to try this salon out. I got a haircut here back in late May. The reason why I searched so hard for a good salon was because I decided I wanted to make the transition from long hair to short hair. I figured, if I'm going to make a big change, why not splurge on something worth the money? My experience was definitely worth my money. I called at 9am asking if I could book an appointment for 11am later that day ... surprisingly, they said yes. When I went in, I was greeted by my hairstylist, Bart. The moment I sat down in that chair, Bart asked me what I wanted and listened to me. Not only did he listen to me, he was willing to offer his advice about what would/would not work with my hair. He took his time trying to understand me, which I really appreciated. I then got a great shampoo and scalp massage afterwards. I had a great conversation with Bart. He's had years of experience, and you can tell that he's good. He's also super friendly. I walked out of there loving the long bob he gave me. Not only did I receive a free consultation before the appointment but she estimated a price for me and answered all of my questions. She made me comfortable the entire I was there. She explained what she thought and what she was doing beforehand in order to let me decide. I live hair and I want everyone to know it! I've gotten attached to 3 stylists over the last 2 yrs, and they've all been "no longer with us" when I called for another cut.. Hmm.. Maybe it's me? They're quitting because of the crazy lady? Let's test the theory. Lindsay (sp?) cut my hair for the first time 10 days ago. I LOVED her personality, very bubbly and young and stylish, but most importantly, she did a great job trimming my hair as per my picky specifications. This review is really for Bart, the best stylist I've ever had. He's been my hairdresser (off and on, depending on my whereabouts in the U.S.) since 2001, and I have never been unhappy with any cut or color he's given me. And goodness, we've tried some adventurous things! Bart is really a transformative colorist who can make huge changes in one appointment, should you need a correction or a total makeover. I know that he keeps up with continuing education on an almost-weekly basis, so he's always got the latest techniques ready to deploy. My hair is really healthy, soft, and pretty, despite the chemical witchcraft he performs. Aveda products can be credited for this, I think. Obviously I like talking to him and hanging out with him; I wouldn't spend 2 hours every 6 weeks in his chair if I didn't. As a bonus, he understands curlyheads AND works on SUNDAYS. read more

I even had to give up getting color recently to save money (my own personal recession busting plan) and she encouraged me to go to Sally Beauty and even told me what product to buy there! I've passed this salon for years (mostly on my way to get a croissant) and it was my mother that added them to the list of salons to do trial wedding hair and make-up appointments at (I didn't even know you did trials of this...) I'm not really a wedding person, I've worn my hair in a pony tail for 14 years and I wear make-up every now and then. I really only wear mascara and eye liner. Needless to say, this appointment wasn't really going to be my cup of tea. I had some photos so when I sat down with Perla for my hair she looked at all of them and then proceeded to ask these astute questions about the photos. All of these details and names for things I would have never known how to describe - she mentioned why one was really different from the other and was able to get me to narrow down (in a vocabulary I was unfamiliar with) what it was that I liked about each photo. She was an equally great listener and stylist. I was so happy with my trial hair I turned in my chair and told my mother to cancel all the other appointments. I had the same thorough and professional experience with Rebekah for make-up. I knew I was going to be finicky about it in general because I don't wear make-up but I loved how it looked. I didn't love that my break out the next day was a throw back to high school...so when I came back on my wedding day I told Rebekah this and she mixed the spray face potion (I have no idea what this is actually called) with a different amount of oxygen and it was SO light, SO breathable and I did not look like a pimple-faced teen on my mini-moon. I appreciated that the she listened and worked to find a solution. I've since gone back to Perla for a normal thin and style hair cut because my wedding hair was so superb. Found a gem of a hair stylist at this Aveda salon -- Jannelly is the bomb! I travel extensively and have had many trials and successes with various Aveda salons across the country. I would say Jannelly is in my top 3 of all time favorite hair people in these here United States. She has a sweet disposition and it would be easy to underestimate her technical abilities given her quiet confidence. But she delivers - in terms of chair side manner, listening skills and all out performance with color, cut and style. I showed her a picture - she gave me exactly what I asked for. Not only did they fry my hair and give me a color I did not ask with patches they offered no apologies .They charged me full price when asked for a refund due to the fact that my hair was practically falling off on its own, they said they would only refund the color as they spent time on it and they would not refund the full amount. They also denied having students but neglected to admit they have internships there who are people that pass the exams but have never cut hair or colored hair for a living. Jonas Aveda was able to schedule me in without waiting for a time to open up and the price for a cut was very reasonable. The hair cut started with a head massage while we talked about what I wanted my hair to look like. It was heaven. I am the type of person that doesn't quite know what I want with my hair but take the stylist's opinion (which is a scary thing to do when you haven't used a stylist before). Natalie did a great job and offered a lot of tips for what the ideal length of my hair and layers should be. Everyone in the salon was very friendly and punctual. OMG David Jonas is AMAZING!!!! I went in with zero expectations, just extremely dried out, faded & over bleached hair and he completely transformed not only my hair but my whole appearance! He took the time to hear my hair's whole life story, listened to what I wanted & didn't want, helped me pick precisely the color I wanted & cut my hair perfectly! He did an extra deep conditioning treatment to help revitalize my over colored hair & gave me an amazing hand massage while i waited to have it washed out. His assistant did an exquisite job of blow drying & styling my hair after the color as well as showing me a few new styling products for me to try out! I was very pleased that she was able to translate my vision for color and highlights into a look that enhances my skin tone.
