I have been holding off writing this review because I was hopeful my hair would fade into something closer to what I wanted, but it hasn't. It's been about a month since I've had my hair colored here, and I have been unhappy with it ever since. This was my first time at the salon,after finding the colorist online based on her work. I showed her a picture of what I wanted, as well as said some clarification. I wanted all my roots covered/no ombré effect, and brighter highlights with some lowlights mixed in for definition. I've had some version of this for 15 years, so I know it works for me. She finishes the long coloring process (in silence because apparently she can't hold a conversation), and honestly I thought my hair looked good when I was done. I liked the coloring when I was sitting in the chair. Then when I got home and actually could see it better up close, I noticed how much of my roots are still showing. And what had seemed like a brighter shade of highlights was just lighting from the salon. After 3 hours in the chair, my hair looked exactly like it did before I went in. I still have months of root growth that wasn't covered with this "full" service, and my hair is the same blonde as it was originally. I don't know how this salon keeps open on "colorists" that don't know how to do basic highlights. But if you're looking for quality, look elsewhere. (The only good part of my experience was the front desk clerk who gave me a glass of wine, so shoutout to them) read more

I am tired of coming to Osgood O'Neill & BEGGING them for a glass of water! And they STILL won't bring me any! I got here & asked someone for a glass of water. Of course they never brought me any. Therefore, I got my hair colored, the whole time being thirsty. (Since they never brought me my water when I first got here.). Right before Jaclyn washed my hair, I asked her (with a dry voice), "may I please have some water?" She said, "I'll bring it to you after I wash your hair, when you go to get your haircut. I'll guess they never brought you any when you asked." (Can you believe that? She KNEW I hadn't been brought water when I first got here, & she just said, in so many words, "in a little while." So I sat there during my hair washing, thirstier than ever. Looking back, I wish I had said, "I see, Jaclyn! The person who I asked for water never brought me any! That means I'm thirstier than ever! I don't appreciate the way you're saying (in so many words), "I'll bring you your water in a little while, even though I know you've been thirsty for a long time." I said it once & I'll say it again: "I am tired of coming in here & having to BEG for a glass of water!" I've complained about this before. When someone asks for water, that means they're thirsty! I loooove this place. If you want blonde bayalage Tara Jane. She is so fun, personable, and has the most inviting personality. I have never loved my hair more than when she has done it. Too be honest there was a time where I was looking for more "affordable" options given my income. Ended up having to go to Tara to fix it and she worked miracles. If you want to look good it's simple ask for tara. She does such a good job there have been times that I let my hair grow out over a year and it still looks wonderful. I'm a dirty blonde/blonde myself but the magic she works on my very blonde friends is AMAZING. The front desk staff at is good is amazing. Bailey is a talented colorist who *understands* hair and how to create depth and movement with well placed and chosen color. She always takes her time in consulting me before we start and adds her expert opinions which are always in point. She's a magician. Audrey may seem sweet and unassuming but don't discount her- she is an experienced architect of hair who understands the sacred geometry of a good hair cut. She isn't afraid to try something new and a simple long layered hair cut becomes something worthy of the Louvre in her hands. I absolutely love this salon. I drive from north Fort Worth to Dallas (Almost an hour) to have Jaclyn do my hair. I have received so many compliments on my color and extensions that it's been a huge confidence boost for me. As I have gotten older my hair, like so many others, has changed immensely. Not only has my dirty blonde hair grown increasingly darker but after my last child it isn't as thick and healthy. Jaclyn has tamed my hard to process locks and given me the color and fullness I have always wanted. Scheduling is easy and flexible and I'm literally waited on and pampered like a princess. I have been going here for a few years and also to the Knox location & keep going bc the cuts are great. But, only go about every 9 months bc they always cut about triple off what they tell me they will. If I were to go more frequently I'm afraid I'd end up bald bc they take off so much more than they tell me they will. EVERY time I've been in they tell me my hair is very healthy and they're going to take off maximum 2", then I walk out with about 6" gone and my hair up by my shoulders again. I'm trying to grow it longer but every time leave upset at the amount they take off. The cuts look great but why can't they cut the amount they tell you? Ever? read more

As a customer of 10+ years, I have recently become extremely disappointed in the front desk staff at Osgood O'Neil. Perhaps, it may just be the Lovers location, as all the other locations are perfectly wonderful. Although, I have no issues whatsoever with the phenomenal hair stylists that work there, the front desk staff is extremely RUDE and condescending. I have never experienced such horrible customer service in my life - the rude attitude consistently provided by the front desk staff has now ensured the fact that I'll never use Osgood ever again. I had a wonderful experience at Osgood O'Neil on Lovers Lane. I had been going to the same stylist (at another salon) for over 15 years and needed to make a change. If you are looking for an amazing colorist, I very highly recommend Liz Huffman. Never has anyone done such detailed work on my hair. She used four different colors/bleach on my hair to give it texture, interest, get rid of the grey, and to tone down massive blond highlights from my previous stylist who just kept doing the same old thing year after year. I am 65 years old and everyone is commenting on how much younger I look. The change is absolutely remarkable! Elle McElroy dried and styled my hair where it looks not only looks fantastic but is also easy for me to replicate at home. Everyone at this Salon was very nice and welcoming. I decided to try Osgood O'neil after reading positive reviews on Yelp. I called asking for the absolute best stylist at all 3 salons for curly/wavy hair. I told the receptionist that my hair is difficult (but amazing), and that I am picky. My haircuts are extremely important because I wear my hair naturally and how it behaves is dependent on how it is cut. After asking around, she recommended Jim at this location (Lovers). I went in with long hair I was perfectly happy with. It was just wavy, not too full, and not in my face anymore than it has to be (I have big hair and a small face). I only needed my split ends trimmed. I walked out with wet hair, but as soon as it dried, I realized it was basically a mullet, which is completely unmanageable. It is way too short and way too big in the front (because that is what happens when a huge chunk of layers is cut way too short), but it is still really long in the back. It almost looks like two separate haircuts and could not be more unflattering to my face. Also, because so many layers were cut, the bottom is too thin. It is impossible to get my hair out of my face without putting it up. This is literally my worst nightmare and without a doubt, the worst haircut I've gotten in years. He cut so much off I'm pretty sure it will take years to grow back. Before he ever started cutting, I was adamant about only wanting the minimum cut off, and I explained that if my layers get too short, my hair gets poofy, so I'm not sure why anyone in their right mind would do this. Jim did comment that my layers appeared heavy and in my face. He said he was going to lighten them up and get them out of my face. I did not realize that was code for cutting several inches off and making them fro out. I tried to warn him that cutting them too short could make it worse. He obviously didn't listen. I called to complain as soon as my hair dried, and I went back in to talk to Bruce, the owner. He could not explain to me why Jim would give me such an awful haircut. All he could say was, "Well, Jim has never cut your hair before, so he didn't know it would react like this." But I warned Jim it would do this if he cut it too short. While I like some short layers around my face, I cannot handle having such a large volume of hair in the front cut so short. It gets way too full and in my face. Also, as the premier expert on wavy/curly hair, shouldn't he have known better? He saw and felt my hair, and I told him not to cut too many short layers because then it would look like a mullet. He did exactly what I was most afraid of and exactly what I told him not to do. All Bruce could do was give me a couple products that just make my hair feel icky and get tangly after the first day (I only wash my hair every 3-4 days). I am not sure why people like this salon. Honestly, if your hair is easy enough for these stylists to cut without any problems, then I think you could probably be happy elsewhere for a lot less. Yes, this salon is beautifully designed. They are really nice and certainly act like they know what they are doing. They don't. I am also annoyed that Jim expected me to change my normal routine. I cannot style my hair as well as he did, and what he asked me to do is a pain and a waste of time. I previously got frequent compliments on my hair without any effort at all. I'm not sure why he felt I needed to become more high maintenance. Now I have to apply 2 products and comb my hair and pull it and shake it, and it STILL looks bad and is too poofy!! read more

Booked my Appointment with Crystal after seeing this Salon recommended on DMagazine. Thought it would be very good and i was honestly very excited to get my Hair done but to my disappointment, she seemed to not be aware of how to do the coloring properly, not very efficient. I went for a Single process hair color but she ended up doing it exactly the color that my hair originally were even though i told her i wanted lighter color and showed her the pictures. I went in again to get it fixed and she told me she cannot do the lighter single process and will just do the highlights which i was okay with but not the best Highlights. Not a Colorist i would recommend for sure as she is not very efficient and not an expert at all. read more

Ok, I'm conservative when it comes to spending $ on hair so I usually cut corners to cover my gray on my own. After my daughter pointed out it was "time" to color all with highlights I dreaded the idea based on past experiences. I made a random appointment with Kimberly Govea and got the best hair color I have ever received. I'm the person who will go to super cuts as I pay for my kids to have ridiculous highlights but for the first time I found someone worthy of a repeat visit. I gave Osgood O'Neil a try based on a friend's recommendation. I don't need anything fancy for my hair services...I don't dye it ever. So basically, I just need someone who can give me great haircut and won't make me look a mess. I had been going to a hair salon slightly north of here since I moved to Dallas ~3.5 years ago. But I had been needing someone closer (though I did love my last person!), so I made the switch. I booked Alyssa the first time just off of availability, but I absolutely fell in love with her! She's really great at getting exactly what I envision, and is super laid back and fun. I've come twice now since August, and Alyssa did a wonderful job with the cut. As for the salon itself, I've experienced great customer service. There are beverages upon walking in, and a great circular waiting area right in the middle of the action. Not to mention the awesome massage chairs at the hair washing area!! All in all, you'll find great basic hair services (I can't speak on the more intensive services) with a beautiful atmosphere and fun stylists. read more

The other day, I had a VERY bad experience @ Osgood Oneil. Upon arriving, I had my first services done upstairs. After that, the employees upstairs told me to go downstairs to have my second service completed. I went down, sat where I usually sat, (in the middle of the room), & waited & waited. For El to come out. I waited & waited. Finally, she came out. I told her how long I had been sitting there. I could tell she was confused, she said, "no one from upstairs called me down here to let me know you were ready." So, it's ALL the employees' fault upstairs, that I had to wait for that long an amount of time. Just had my first appointment with Damian to fix a color job from another salon. He was professional, honest, and meticulous with his work. I came in with oddly striped highlights that showed lines of demarcation (my natural hair is black and the highlights were blonde, so the lines were harsh), and Damian added more highlights to get rid of the stripes and soften up the look. Damian was careful about which pieces he highlighted to avoid damaging my hair, because the previous color job was only a week ago. He was upfront about how long it would take to get the hair I had originally wanted, but assured me that once I had some new growth to work with, we would be right on track. As a bonus, the amount I ended up paying was lower than what I had been quoted at the consultation. That showed me that the pricing was fair and tailored to service, and I appreciate that in any business. Looking forward to my next appointment!
