My previous review still stands, so please feel free to sit down in your comfy chair with a handkerchief to dab at the drool; a common side effect of reading this review (so I've been told). Updated notes: Karibu Kitchen is no longer tailgating outside at Tchoup Yard but has nestled into their new home inside of Zanzibar (the indoor swankier part of Tchoup Yard in the back). I believe they serve 'til 12:30pm (this was a Friday night). I like to get good and buzzed to enjoy my Cruchwrap Supreme so this works out really well for me. BTW, the Crunchwrap Supreme is now $9. STILL worth it. It's one of those things I don't have to add anything to. I even get on the struggle bus about 80% of the way through it 'cause my belly is full but it's sooo good. I got uber lucky because this last time they had carnitas, my fave. They also have a few seats right up at their food station so if you want to solo cram your Crunchwrap Supreme into your pie hole, no one's going to judge you right there while you make the "mmmmm" noises. Sidenote: If you see me hunched over my Crunchwrap Supreme around 11:30pm on a Friday night, you should probably just wait 'til I'm done to approach. I uploaded a picture of their menu (current as of 9/29), and maybe I'll dibble dabble into those Tater Totchos (but only if the future hubs gets the Crunchwrap Supreme), ya heard?

The Crunchwrap Supreme is probably the best thing I have tried here and it does taste quite similar to the Taco Bell version minus the stomach ache Taco Bell usually provides. The burger is a bit on the salty side and for some utterly insane reason they don't have mustard and only offer nasty blasphemous ketchup (I HATE ketchup) so the only time I can eat the burger is if I bring my own mustard. The tachos (tater tot nachos) just don't measure up to the amazing ones at 13 Monaghan so I probably wouldn't get those again. Overall it is a decent place for later bar food at the Tchop Yard.

Decided to try some chicken from this place at the Cluck Fest. My cousin said he's had food from…read morethem before and that he really enjoys it. The menu had Jerk chicken, curry chicken, and brown stew chicken. I wish they would have listed the sides on the menu as well, so it wouldn't leave potential customers wondering what comes with the chicken. I planned to get the jerk chicken and my mom was going to get the brown stew chicken. My mother and I aren't eating rice right now, so we asked if we could get a plate without rice and peas and just double the veggies/ greens. He said he did not have enough veggies to do it for two plates. I said okay well if we get one plate can you do it on that one and he said ok. So instead of purchasing two plates we just purchased one jerk chicken plate. The chicken was good and the greens were flavorful. I wish there could've been another veggie offered like cabbage so I could've had cabbage and then greens, but overall I enjoyed the food. Only other tip besides adding the sides to the menu, is that I think they would've benefited from having another staff member. It was only one guy plating the food and taking the money/ orders. There was someone else who would come to refill the food but they didn't help serve.

The portions were good and the food was delicious. It's designed for takeout vs diningread more

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted and promptly seated by the hostess. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive, and offered excellent recommendations that made ordering effortless. I started with the pig ears and had the fried chicken as my entrée, while my colleague chose the vegetarian option. You can find pig ears in Honolulu, but not prepared in this culinary style -- it was a creative and flavorful starter. The fried chicken was perfectly juicy and well-seasoned, and the honey butter added a delightful balance of savory and tangy sweetness. The ambiance was classy yet calm, making it ideal for both conversation and a relaxed dining experience. We also enjoyed lemon drop martinis with dinner -- crisp, refreshing, and the perfect complement to our meals. Overall, I would highly recommend this spot if you're looking to enjoy a refined and memorable dinner in New Orleans.

We got the buttermilk biscuits with whipped ricotta and berries. Berry good! My beau got the crawfish pot pie. It was rich and the pastry was awesome. I got the spicy black beans. I assumed that it would come with more pork belly, but the order of the items and the price was should've probably tipped me off that the beans were the star of the dish. The texture of the beans, crispy rice cake and egg white, and runny yolk were so harmonious with the welcome bite and spice of the jalapeño. I loved the flavor of my Hurricane Buster. It was strong, but balanced. Our servers were good. The water and table runners were especially warm!

I was really looking forward to trying this place but unfortunately the menu was so limited. No jerk boudin balls, no crawfish Etoufee, fried fish, no oxtails, no Mac and cheese, only 1 order of Brussels sprouts. Still decided to try what they had available. We were told that there would be a 45 min wait for Mac and cheese. Waited over an hour and a half on food and still no Mac and cheese. Service to and from the table was extremely slow! Brussels sprouts came out over cooked. Mushrooms were great! Cooked well still had texture and moisture. Delicious. Jerk chicken was okay. Nothing special really with the flavoring, was cooked well though. Plantains were really good and cooked well. Coco curry shrimp was bussin! Great flavoring and this shrimp was fried to perfection. Pretty spicy but that wasn't a problem for me. Best dish I tasted from the establishment. Lamb chops were good. They were small I think for the price honestly. But no complains about them. The service is what would keep me from coming back here. For it not to be packed I felt like they were way too slow. We spent 2 hours just sitting there waiting. As far as the ambiance is concerned it's NOLA don't expect white table cloth dining at a local spot.

Pina Coladas aren't usually my brand, but damn Gina...these are good! Hand blended and elevated to creamy perfection (hafta recommend the extra rum floater on top). We tried a Toffee & Tequila drink because the flavor combination won our curiosity (it tasted like an espresso drink which I don't enjoy) but we sure liked the thought. She switched to an off-menu drink the server recommended called a Saturn which was quickly emptied. I had a few bourbon & rum cocktails called the Fancy Bombo - and those got me right. We only wanted a couple of shareable small plates to hold us over so we tried the Crab Croquetas and corn tamal. The croquetas were had a crunchy fried exterior and cheesey crab goodness within. I could've eaten about 82 of them if we didn't have dinner reservations elsewhere a few hours later. The corn tamal was a polenta disc topped with so much deliciousness that had me considering cancelling my other reservations. As good as the food & drink are - the service really seals the deal. Everyone in the place is a foodie and exudes a level of sophistication when you inquire about anything. The staff is quick to engage, explain and recommend when called upon. There is a vibe here that will keep me coming back for more. I will just put this out there for those that may need it (and you know who you are) - if you are intolerant of different lifestyles, sexualities and flamboyance...this IS NOT a place you may care for. Many of the staff is diverse and LGBQT adjacent/forward. Don't misunderstand, this is not a place advertised as anything for a certain type of person or group, but if these things make you uncomfortable - don't ruin it for those of us that support all diversity.
