Such a lovely cafe, hidden in an industrial area. The owner and her daughter are charming and kind and they keep calling you "honey bunny".:) The food is very tasty! Thank you.

Adorable small family owned and run little diner. If you're looking for a home cooked meal this is it! When were were there everyone that came in the waitresses knew by first name, thought that was pretty cool! The breakfasts were huge and the patty melt was tasty!

We were looking for a local breakfast place while staying in Rancho Mirage. This totally fit the bill. First, Karen herself is lovely. Warm, friendly, attentive. Second, the breakfast foods are spot on. The pancakes are huge and fluffy. My son had the chocolate chip. One is more than enough, unless you plan to share. My other son had the French toast with strawberries and whipped cream and devoured them. I had the Belgian waffle which I also devoured. I also had an iced coffee which was very good. It was brewed to be iced coffee (not hot coffee poured over ice and diluted). If you are in the area, definitely hit up Karen's.

Nice response from owner - real professional. I never said I was picky. Picture speaks for itself. Don't order chicken salad sandwich . ------- orig message below. Stopped first time, in for a sandwich to go on the road. Chicken salad croissant sandwich. Disappointing! Super runny, messy, way too much mayo and where is the chicken? Most of it was diced pickles and celery. Hostess, very nice, that took order and packed extra napkins and ketchup cup. Server/owner/manager-blonde older lady, rude.

Karen's Cafe is like Cheers, everyone knows your name! Food was delicious and simple. The restaurant was clean and not fancy. We enjoyed ourselves and look forward to visiting again!

Full Order Biscuits and Gravy : so delicious!! I would recommend ordering a side of hash browns. Very generous on the gravy!

Delicious food and wonderful service by the two ladies that worked there. Very attentive and friendly even when it got busy. The prices are great for the generous portions. I love the mom and pop feel and will be definitely be returning when back in town. I had the eggs over a full order of biscuits and gravy. The do not skip out on the gravy. I love that it smothered the biscuits. I would recommend getting a side of hash browns to help absorb the gravy.

WONDERFUL! SPOTLESSLY CLEAN hidden b'fast/lunch spot with amazing food. You can't go wrong! I stumbled upon this place by accident, while my sunroof was being repaired at Caruso's Top Shop next door.

Decided to go to this little cafe after my acupuncture appointment & was not disappointed! I loved the service! She was super friendly & seemed like everyone that came through the door already knew her & she right away knew what they wanted & their names! My breakfast burrito was good with the fresh salsa which had a little kick but it hit the spot.

You can tell right away this place isn't just about great food, it's about a great experience. Edger took care of us at the table, and "took care" might be an understatement. Attentive, friendly, and totally on top of it. When there was a small hiccup with my coffee order, he handled it like a pro-no fuss, no delay, just a perfectly remade cup in record time. Speaking of coffee: the Breakfast Republic Specialty Latte? Absolutely phenomenal. One of those drinks you think about long after you've left. We both went with scrambles, and let me just say... come hungry. The portions are generous (borderline heroic), and everything was packed with flavor. No sad, skimpy brunch plates here. Big shoutout to Tony, the manager, for clearly building and leading such a stellar team. The energy, the service, the attention to detail, it all trickles down, and it shows. And don't even get me started on their cheeky, fun swag, it's worth browsing before you head out. As new transplants to the desert, we're calling it now: this is going to be one of our go-to spots. Great food, great people, great vibes-what more could you want?

There were a lot of breakfast options, from specialty pancakes and waffles to unique omelets and Mexicandishes like Chilaquiles. I got the Biancasada omelet, which has carne asada, peppers, onions and cheese. It is served with your choice of side (I got potato wedges) and bread (I subbed the grilled peach specialty pancake). The omelet was ok...the carne asada wasn't great and the other ingredients could have been cooked more. The wedges were good, but I didn't like the grilled peach pancake as much as I thought I would and wished I would have got the lemon blueberry. Portions were big, and I took half to go. Hubby got the chorizo con papas omelet with hash browns cooked extra crispy and a buttermilk pancake. The omelet was really good, and the hash browns were cooked well. The pancake was a pancake. They only have Pepsi products, so I went with water, which they refilled well. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and they had Hawaiian music playing. I'd come back to try lunch. The sandwiches and burgers coming out looked good.

The rooms are slightly dated. Not disastrous. Not horror story energy. Just giving we have seen a few seasons. You can tell the property wants a little refresh in some spots. Very White Lotus if White Lotus had a more budget-conscious cousin. The pool was clean though, and that goes a long way. Especially when you are at a family-friendly place and one bad pool moment can ruin the whole trip. The bowling alley and games for kids were honestly a strong save. That part gives the property some real personality. It is the kind of setup that keeps children entertained and keeps adults from having to hear "what are we doing now" every eleven minutes. The staff was amazing. Warm. Helpful. On it. That was probably the best part of the stay. They gave the whole experience more polish than the building sometimes had on its own. Good staff can carry a property far, and they definitely did some heavy lifting here. The gym is really small, and it could use an update bad. A few newer machines and a little more space would make a huge difference. Right now it feels like an afterthought. Like they remembered fitness at the very end and said okay put two something somewhere and let God handle the rest. The bar and food were decent. Perfectly fine. Nobody at the table was offended. Nobody was composing love letters either. It was the kind of meal you eat, nod at, and then fully forget by the next afternoon. Not bad. Not brag-worthy. Just there. Overall, this is a great stay with some fun family-friendly perks, a clean pool, and great staff holding it all together. It is not luxury-luxury. Instead, the experience became one of the most upsetting resort stays we've had. While actively swimming in the La Paloma pool with our children, a large amount of brown material suddenly blasted out of a pool jet directly in front of us and spread into the water. It genuinely looked like sewage or waste coming into the pool. We immediately got out along with other guests and attempted to get answers from staff, but no one could clearly explain what had happened or reassure us that the pool was safe. Because of that, we no longer felt comfortable using ANY of the resort pools for the rest of our stay -- which completely ruined the primary reason we booked this resort in the first place. We left extremely disappointed and honestly sad that our Mother's Day and anniversary trip turned into stress and discomfort instead of a relaxing family vacation. Three days later, I also became extremely sick, which only added to the concern surrounding the incident. Management later emailed us claiming it was "filter media sand" from a backwash issue and not waste. They waived our parking and resort fees, but considering we essentially lost use of the main amenity we paid to enjoy, that did not feel like an appropriate resolution. We respectfully reached out requesting either compensation for the room or the opportunity to return for a future stay so we could actually experience the resort the way we intended to. We never even received a response. For a resort at this price point and under the Westin/Marriott name, the handling of this situation and the lack of customer care afterward was incredibly disappointing.

For instance, a Cobb salad topped with fish can easily exceed $45; while the quality is high, that's a significant jump over nearby staples like Daily Grill. I ordered the Complete savory crêpe and had I not been drinking so much water from the heat, I would have devoured this in one sitting. The side salad is a nice touch and balances out the heaviness of the egg and the ham. My coworker had the avocado toast and was overjoyed that it was very plentiful and well portioned. She also ordered a fresh grapefruit juice which she let me try and I found incredibly refreshing. This is by far one of my favorite breakfast places in California!
