If I can give a negative star I would. BEWARE! DO NOT SEND your carb to this place. They are crooked and will take your money leaving you with unusable carburetor or lose your original carb. They lost mine and they tried to replace it with a non-rebuild, dirty old carb that looked like it just came off the shelf after 20 years of storage. I've already filed with Attorney General's office in PA and BBB. If you're not happy with Karb King, you should file as well. It's not right what this crooks are doing stealing people's hard earned money. read more

This shop sounds very knowledgeable when speaking to them and thier prices are low. I shipped them my carb for rebuilding and had a hard time telling when it was done or when it was shipped. I didnt get any of the typical email notifications, phone calls or tracking numbers that you normally receive when doing business. I had to initiate all contact. I did receive it though... It was dirty when i got it and had been damaged and then half assed -re/brazed. On top of that, thier repair job broke again in shipment. Karb King asked me to file a claim with usps. I was able to file a claim with usps. usps makes you tell them how much you paid for shipment. Since i wasnt the shipper, i had to guess... Karb King did offer to make things right with me, but i'm choosing to repair it on my own since they clearly never did much in the first place other than make more of a mess of it. Just adding another note... 2/16/2015 What a piece of junk! This thing leaks everywhere.. I just bought a rebuilt one from a reputable company. These guys piss me off! read more

I received a carburetor...I really appreciate them sending me something but, the one they sent me was in worse condition than the one I sent them. They finally responded to an email and they said "we really apologize it's too bad you to give us the chance to make good on it and decided to make a negative posting on the Internet before we could get this worked out." I gave them two months of chances, multiple emails, daily telephone calls and then this. It is sad because I've seen what they can do but, it sounds like they are either no longer capable of making a proper repair or, choose not too. If they continue to do business as they have, I wouldn't recommend anyone go to Karb King. read more

Sent them a simple holley 750 to rejet, add an electric choke, clean, paint and return. What I got back was my carb, broken choke housing (was new), broken ear off the mounting plate and a bent throttle arm. It was somehow dirtier then when I sent it and their "cleaning" was running the mounting ate thru a blast cabinet Fro the roughness of the once polished aluminum. They did respond to my issue and told me to send it back to get fixed an "file a claim thru USPS" Carb came back with yet another sandblasted mounting plate, bowls were painted gold ..... Right over the holley stickers (classy right?) and it rubbed off immediately when I adjusted the bowls... Which were not correctly adjusted either. No proof of rejetting was seen nor old jets or power valve in the half assed packing job they did..... In other words... Save your money, find a reputed shop and steer clear of " the monarch of mixers" read more

Still nothing from Karb Kings and the amount of messages of people who've had experiences just like ours is overwhelming. How sad so many have been ripped off by these guys. Anyone file with the AG or BBB? Shoddy work is one thing, but completely and utter disregard for customers and ripping them off more than once is criminal. Are the positive reviews even real?! read more

Do not do business with this company. You should always be on the lookout when the company only accepts money orders. I made the mistake of sending them my carb and $135.00. After 1 and 1/2 months and numerous emails and phone calls they sent my carb back and said it was rebuilt. It was not rebuilt. I sent them pictures and asked for a refund. They ignored me. I finally went to the Better Business Bureau and opened a case. Check with the BBB and you will see 20 complaints against them. They really ripped me off. Go somewhere else or do business locally. Stay away from these guys!!!!!!! read more

Man, I wish I had looked on Yelp before I sent these crooks my carb. I was treading in my old carb from my Y-block 272 for a more reliable carb. First they sent back my old carb I had just sent them. Second they sent me a carb that wouldn't work,I sent it back. Now they don't answer my e-mails or phone calls. So I lost my original Carb, payed to mail the carbs back to them three times. These guys are the worst there is to deal with. I've dealt with companies all over the USA and nun are as bad as them!!!! read more

Wow these guys a complete rip off don't send them your carb and money order !! I sent them my carb and money order to have it rebuilt. That was a mistake it is now been six weeks and all I have is someone else's carb that was not rebuilt but first I got another one which had a bunch of sand in the box with it. They told me to send it back and they would get me mine. I did but they refused it and I had to send it again. which has cost me shipping three time which the said they would reimburse me for . That's a lie . They won't answered there phone and when I email they just keep giving me a different story. I'm out two hundred bucks and no carb just a POS they sent me which won't work for me. These guys are a complete rip off. I have filed a complaint with the attorney general. Save you self allot of grief don't use them read more

STAY AWAY! Kark Kings is nothing more than a whole in the ground you through money in. I paid to have them rebuild my carb, shipped it to them, and 3 weeks later received my carb back and it still had DIRT on it! They didn't even bother to wipe it off, it also showed up with rust, which it never had, the brackets were completely bent because they decided to pack it in 11 sheets of a magazine as if that would help any. I also got it back without my dual fuel line, or the air cleaner stud, or a gasket. It looked to me like they ripped it apart and threw a couple new gaskets in it. If even that. I called constantly for days, wrote emails, and finally wrote a negative yelp review. Guess what, within 4 hours of my review i got an email back finally. They said they would fix my carb IF i took down my review. I took it down, and sent them back the carb, and a week later i got it back, turns out they REFUSED it. So i got the exact same crappy carb, and paid another 25 bucks in shipping. Im out 200 bucks and the carb ran worse than when i sent it in, The butterfly's stick, the bowls leak around the gasket, I had to have it rebuilt again just to get my car running. All in all Karb Krap cost me over 200 dollars, 5 weeks of my car not running, and hours upon hours of time trying to call, email, submit orders, anything to get in contact with them. SUPER SHADY BUSINESS!! They will take your money and run. I'm filing a BBB claim to get my money back, because obviously my carb isn't getting rebuilt by them, now would I want them to touch it. Complete rip-off. I have no idea how they haven't gotten shut down for fraud yet. They make you pay by money order which is shady enough, and don't expect to get back everything you sent them, if your lucky enough to even get your carb back! read more

$175 down the toilet. I complained of the residue, and mineral deposits. They said that is normal. Bull. Mounted the carburetor, and leaked a puddle of fuel onto the intake. Removed the top of the Quadrajet, and found crud in the bowl, and top gasket was original. They broke the 7th commandment. May they all rot in hell. No stars from me. read more

Normally I'd never post a review at all but after dealing with Karb King and initially being very skittish, I must say that I'm very surprised not only at the outcome of their work but at the postings here on yelp. These guys are the ultimate old-school carb shop, and although it took them almost 10 days to get my Strombergs back (they went racing instead of finishing customer's carburetors), I got back just what they said I would. Three Stromberg 97's, a custom linkage all mounted on my intake manifold ready to bolt on and go with the fuel log. They look great even the manifold with which was very badly oxidized came out great I bolted on my 40 Ford pick up and started right up! Karb King was very reasonably priced and delivered what they said, though a bit more slowly than I would've liked. This is my truthful contribution to Karb King's reviews, and I have to believe that many of these negative ones are simply haters. read more

DO NOT SEND YOUR CARB. They took our money of $135.00 plus shipping and all I got back was the dirty carb I sent them. They took over 2 months to do nothing to the carb. I would call them and e-mail them and would never get an answer. Per their services they say it will go thru an 8 step process. They never did a thing. I will file with Attorney General's office in PA and BBB. If you're not happy with Karb King, you should file as well. read more

Would give this company zero stars if i could, worst customer service sent them a brand new carburetor get tuned to the spec of my motor and of course i received another carburetor that wasn't mine, contacted the company and they sent me a second one that was broken, tried to contact them again and again i am no longer getting emails back and good luck calling them... do not send these people your carburetors. read more

Bought a carb from them. Ran really bad. They said it was my problem. Something I did. Really.... They don't stand behind their product

Scam artists. Beware! They will "lose" your carburetor and try to send you back a cheaper, possibly unusable, version of what you sent. They have sent us two wrong carburetors so far. The second one was even worse than the first they sent us. They do not communicate and will not work with you. This is has been an on-going issue and we're so fed up that we may end up taking legal action over it. read more

Sent my carberator in and payed $125 and they did nothing and returned it to me. Sent it back and it came back dirter then it was and still not fixed right. Paid shipping twice and they said the would return my shipping of $33.90 and the never did. POOR BUSINESS. wOULD NO RECOMEND. jIM FROM mICHIGAN read more

This company is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with when it comes to customer service. We sent in a carburetor to have fixed along with $145.00 so they could fix it and when we received it back, the carburetor was in worse shape then when we sent it to them and it looked like they did nothing to it. I also had to send in another $50.00 for parts. When I called them to ask them for my money back I kepr getting the run around and was told that I couldnt get my money back but they could put a credit on my account. I need the carburetor right away, so I did not have time to send it back to them the second time in hopes that they would fix it then. Also, when they couldnt fix it at all the first time, why would I want to have a credit on my account when I would not want to send anything to them again. Also when you call to talk to anyone there they are always gone and the only way you can communicate with anyone is thru email. read more

Just throwing money down the toilet thats what you are doing using this company it is worse than any open sewage plant. they take in a useable item and return you sludge plus you pay up front then they use the post office to deliver the bad news to you is there a thing with the local post office ?? are they in cahoots THE SAME OLD STORY WE WILL BACK YOU WHAT EVER IT TAKES....OK HEARS A IDEA DO WHAT YOU STATED AND REFUND MY COST BUILD...MG read more

Really helped me out with my restoration project on my old Mustang! Great work, would definitely recommend them.

Sent my carb to this business. They returned a carb to me that was damaged and not mine. Phone calls and emails have not been returned.

they told me they would build me a 735 double pumper, first one I got was broke, they told me to file a claim with post office. I told them the broken piece isn't even in the sealed bag they put the carb in so I sent it back had to call them after 1 1/2 months. they sent me a different carb that I had to work on to get it to run and then I had no performance, took to local shop and they said you couldn't get 600 cfm out of that carb let alone 735. now they won't return calls or emails. big time rip off. read more

My father purchased for me for my birthday a carburetor through Karb King Karbs, 10 Machinists Way Pittsburgh, PA 15205 and through e-mail they were contacted as they didn't want to talk on the phone. We asked first if they had experience with blow-through carburetors and the "Kings" said they knew what they were doing. He/we sent them all our specs and I received a carb within reasonable time. I placed the carburetor on the engine, purchased a dual feed fuel line and supplied 6 psi fuel pressure before cranking to fill the bowls, no leaks. I go to crank the engine the first time and FIRE! (NOT a backfire, my engine runs great) I took the carb off to inspect it and it had NO metering plate to carb gasket on the secondary and the other gaskets (metering plate to fuel bowl) were old, nasty and had been re-used, the jets were green from corrosion, the throttle blade screws were rusty and there were rust stains down the blades, the carb was a "refurbished" unit and had been sandblasted (had media in it) and spray painted nasty gray on top of gray with some horrid runs. the reason the carb did not leak when I applied 6psi fuel pressure was due to an incorrectly set floating float. Cost me a distributor, fuel lines, filters, trans lines, fire extinguisher, silicone coupler, valve cover gaskets and the cost of your carb and months progress as I don't have much money to funds towards my project. The carb WAS the last step. You guys caused me to nearly start back over completely. I'm embarrassed to post this on my FB to expose my failed attempt and finishing my project but at least my people know where they shouldn't go due to peoples hit and miss success with your business. I hope this opens your eyes on your quality control. -TREY CARVALHO Request my number. I'll give it to you. I have NOTHING to hide but I will let it be known if you harass me in any way. If you offer a negotiation or refund I'll tell of it too. I have in no way trash talked, said anything that wasn't true or defaced your business. (Posted to my Facebook) MY REASONING FOR NOT CONTACTING WAS DUE TO IT BEING A GIFT AND NOT WANTING TO DISRESPECT MY FATHER BY RETURNING IT AND CALLING IT A PIECE OF CRAP TO HIM AND SEEING ALL YOUR ONLINE REVIEWS AND HATEFUL, SMART REMARKS TO YOUR "KUSTOMERS". read more
