I wish I could give this business a zero star!!!They have the worst customer service on the planet!! I walked in with my kids and Lahmajoon is our favorite I place the order and 15 minutes later someone comes up to my table and tells me they don't have it !!we went in few weeks later I wanted to give them another chance and I walk in and before I go to my table I asked to make sure they have Lahmajoon again since I had an experience in the past that they ran out of Lahmajoon , gentleman said sure that they always had and they always have ! I took a seat with my kids again same thing happened 15 minutes later someone walk to the table and notified us that they don't have it!! this is ridiculous I will never step a foot into that restaurant again and I will let everyone around me know about this business read more

We came here because we were feeling nostalgic and wanted to reminisce on the food and culture in Yerevan. Needless to say, we were not disappointed. This place is perfect if you are missing the food and culture of Armenia or even if you want to experience it for the first time. We tried the BBQ family platter, which was absolutely delicious, especially the hummus! I will definitely return. read more

Finally I had a chance to check this restaurant. Let's start from very beginning, located in the heart of Glendale this place will catch your eye with colorful design and cozy atmosphere. Don't think too long, just walk in, I'm not gonna write about food, because it's beyond words, you just have to try it. Feel free to seat yourself, restaurant doesn't have hostess but it does have very attentive stuff, so they will see you, if not push the button on the small thing that's on table, server will be noticed about your arrival. Order whatever seems nice to you, because prices are not gonna bite, comparable to food quality and taste this restaurant is very cheap, me and my friends ordered appetizers, soup, 2 hot dishes and a bottle of compot(organic drink made from fruits), this all cost us approximately 40$. This is really cool! Our waitress was the best one I've ever met, cute and very nice. No complain about service. Food may take a while though, but be patient people, this is not a taco stand, good food takes time, about 20 minutes...but it's worth waiting. If you will have any issue ask for Hovik, he's the manager and he will take care of you and anything you need. Karas just opened doors for Americans(turns out this is a very big chain of restaurants oversea) and still need some time for adjustments, but I'm more then sure this place will be the best dining spot in Glendale :) read more

Is a very interesting place, the ambience is nice, have a nice outdoor seating. The menu is it limited especially when it comes to main dishes but the grilled stuff was tasty. The soup was OK and the salad. The service could do a lift up. Prices are reasonable, overall good place. I read more

The most authentic Mediterranean/American food right in the heart of Glendale. The newly opened restaurant was packed and we were seated indoor because of a lengthy waiting time for an outdoor seating. Anyways, i have heard a lot of great comments about this place and wanted to give a try myself, too. Wowww... Yes... Everything was great, super casual and absolutely the most delicious menu. Great prices. We are definitely going back read more

Had dinner with the family here last night and everything we ate was delicious. My kids are very picky eaters and they had no trouble ordering what they wanted to eat and liked the food. I had the Spas and the New York steak. Spas was great and the steak cooked perfectly. My son had the Borscht which was delicious. We also had the greek salad. The rice with the steak was cooked great. Our waitress was very friendly and prompt in bringing our orders. The atmosphere and location was prime. Just to sum it up we will be back for more and also recommend friends and family to this place. read more

Great food, great prices this pretty much sums up our experience with Karas. Customer service was on point. They were very attentive to a busy crowd on a Sunday evening. It is an Armenian restaurant which is probably why their food is so delicious. Must try their salmon burger. read more

Went to Armenia for a month last year and ate at a restaurant with the same name there. Surprised to see them in the US so I went there with family for a casual meal. Really nice decor. modern clean. Waitresses were really nice and attentive. Spoke to one of the chefs who was very nice as well. Overall professional service. As usual we ordered lots of food. Kebabs are good. Not a big portion but enough to fill you up. I ordered mine with fries and it hit the spot. You won't burst your trousers eating there....and you won't get meat-drunk either. The hummus is good. The Olive salad is really good. The brussel sprouts are the best I've had in long time. If you just want to eat a salad. Order that. you wont be disappointed. We got some eggplant that tasted like it was fire roasted. Order that! It was very good! I ordered a cabbage salad and it reminded me of the salad I ate in Yerevan. Ordered some Borsht. If you have a Russian grandmother...don't order it. She will slap you! If you don't...then give it a shot. Nice piece of beef in the Borsht. Good flavour. No bay leaf in it and no parsley so it's more of an Armenian borsht than a Russian one. If you were born and raised in Tujunga you may not know the difference. Ordered the grilled fish and mash potatoes. I liked it. It's not a seafood restaurant so I wasn't expecting much. Surprised at the flavour. Didn't have room for anymore entrees. Ordered an espresso, creme brule, strawberry icecream and two eclairs. Ordered a Lungo...I had no idea what that was...but ordered it anyway. Wasn't disappointed one bit. All these people talking about bad service. I didn't see it. My guest asked if they had smoothies and was politely told no. A split second later the waitress said that she could make my guest one. We interacted with three waitresses...all super nice....all very pro. Quick to refill my ice tea. No complaints what so ever. Ignore the negative reviews. Call them growing pains. I can recommend stopping by and grabbing a bite. read more

All my friends been asking me for a good Armenian food place. Karas is the place if you are looking for kind of food you will have in Yerevan. Everything here is made fresh and with best ingredients. You can get a garden salad to die for, adjarski chachapuri from the brick wood oven, perfectly grilled boneless trout or a kabob sandwich, they are all good! I am impressed with the freshness of ingredients and delicious simplicity of the plates makes me feel like I am visiting my close friends. It tastes good , portions are large and very filling. They only open for a month but I was there at least once a week. Great place , menu is balanced, also includes burgers and other traditional sandwiches among the ethnic Armenian food. All together place speaks the universal language of Food Lovers. I recommend to anyone who likes good food. Prices are very reasonable, food made to order. See grilled trout served with pomegranate molasses on the eide read more

Karas - Grilled trout with steady stemmed veg, double baked potato and pomegranate molasses - Armenian Near Me - Glendale, California

I really recommend this place because the food is good and prices are affordable this restaurant is not a fast food restaurant so if you want your food fast it is not a good place for you. they have all kind of Armenian barbeque and delicious soups. Parking is big problem for this restaurant so I used the Americana's parking. Totally I am happy with their service. read more

I went today with my daughter, we had such a bad service that I got a very bad migraine and I started throwing up, food was ok but the way we were treated was horrific, we are spanish so the waitress was extremely rude, she took our order and never went back to our table, I tried to signal her to get some lemon, ( she was waiting a white blouse) so she ignored me completely, after a while i saw a girl in a red blouse and I asked for lemon and after a while she brought it to our table, very racist I am sure because she was polite to the Armenians people there but not to us, so i felt disappointed and hurt, I tried to talk to someone about the service but nobody paid attention, I am actually trying to talk to a manager online but is impossible, I won't recommend this restaurant at all, the service is very bad! read more

Good food and service at a clean spacious environment. Music was very upbeat but not loud. I love the Armenian pomegranate

Being here for few times, can say that this is my favorite food in Glendale. Great selection of food including Lent menu. Excellent service!

Very good place to dine. Food was great prices were reasonable. Definitely will recommend everyone

Disappointed unfortunately is an understatement here. I was very excited to go in and try this new Armenian restaurant that has been in the works for a number of months . First off the staff seemed uncertain as to how greet guests . We were given a table for 4 , someone took our order for appetizers and dinner . Hummus is served with no bread or crackers :)!! After a long wait appetizers arrived. however no utensils and napkins were on the table . I asked several times for utensils, wait staff was flustered looking for them here and there. finally we got one set !!! I asked to speak with manager and he explained rudely that "there are no clean silverware ,his exact words: "what ??you want us to give you dirty ones ????" No apology was offered at all by him. Later the kind waitress we had apologized time and time again , urging us to come back Stating that the guy who spoke with us wasn't even the manager !!!! Food was mediocre , but the service being so horrible made it clear that there is no going back!! I feel awful giving this review , but honestly all these restaurants opening up around town with bad service and low quality do not deserve read more

This was our first time here. There was 7 in our party. Very very disappointed. We asked for pizza, we were told they don't have, asked for lehmejoons, they didn't have, khajabouri, again, no. Ended up with some appetizers and chicken lula. Was not the best. The lemonade...watery, no taste of lemon!! Plus, pricy compared to other places and their portions. read more

Not recommending this rude, irresponsible, & fraudulent business! First, we sat there for more than 20 minuets waiting & no one came forward to take our orders or anything! Then, our kebabs & meals smelled disgusting & seemed rotten. We saw their employees walking outside to the nearby area for smoking literally every 15 minuets & the smoke/smell was filling in our area!!! Lastly, they overcharged us: the total number on our bill was way higher than what we had ordered. We kept calculating the numbers & it didn't make sense, again and again. They kept bringing excuses and arguing with us that that's the total & we have to pay anyway. We threw the money in front of them & left because it's not worth it to waste your time & nerves for these kind of people, but it wasn't fair at all. Hope this review brings awareness to others so that everyone can know what a horrible business this is. read more

I was passing by and heard the Armenian music and had to go in. I tried the beef lule plate and lahmajun. I was with my daughter and we both loved the food and the ambiance. I will definitely return to try other items from the menu and listen to the wonderful music. For a moment I felt like I was in Armenia. read more

It was first time coming here and I was very disappointed. I ordered borche soup which didn't taste anything like it suppose to. I ordered chicken wrap which had this nice picture but what I got didn't have any of ingredients pictured on the menu. It had a certain seasoning that was extremely overpowering. My husband ordered the jarkoe which was a plate full of dried pork pieces and potatoes drenched in oil. It was as unhealthy as a dish can get. There was just two of us but we had to wait for a longtime for our food and then it came separately so he had to wait 10 minuets till they brought mine out so we could eat. Service was non existent. Not once someone approached to see if we needed something, but they all were well mannered. Noise level was high. read more

I came here without reading the reviews and now I'm glad I walked out. Waited for over an hour for food that never arrived. Waiter came once, took order, never returned. I think it's safe to say the positive reviews on here are coming from friends and family. read more

I was over there in mother's day with my kids and cousins, the restaurant wasn't too busy, but the waiters brought our food too late, told me that we are busy, and waiters didn't bring my order, I told her, she answered "I will bring it right now", My kids and cousins finished their lunch and i asked again, where is my food, and the other waiter told me "we forgot to make your food, sorry", I left without eating my order. I was over there for almost 2 hours and I buzzed the buzzer on the table couple of times nobody answered, when I asked the waiter, he looked at the alarm on the hand and just said "sorry I was busy". It is a horrible place for spending time with family. You should tell them a couple of times for something. read more
