UPDATE! I have taken my 79' vette to Robert since January of this year. He has been great but he's also kept my car for months at a time with 0 communication as to when he will be done and 0 quotes given to me to know how much any of the maintenance would be until I showed up to pick my car up. Robert spent lots of time with my car and has done some great work but I'm sure many days passed without it even being worked on. Robert is great but bad communication. Seems as if he helped me out on pricing and then it backfired on him and then he ended up getting frustrated with me? I am paying for the work buddy. You not charging me correctly and then getting upset at the paying customer isn't good business. If you want to have your car worked on by kar masters, expect to not know how much it will be or when you will get it back. He accepts cars all day to work on while he already has plenty of cars to finish working on so your car gets pushed to the back of the line. I just received my car today from Robert after him having a it for over a week and NOTHING was done. It is now Thursday of the following week. I dropped it off last Tuesday morning for A/C maintenance and for him to rewire my radio as it is draining my battery. I had to reach out on Monday for an update which seemed to me as if he didn't even start working on it since he couldn't give me any info. He then told me by Tuesday or Wednesday he would reach out. He didn't, so I did and he got frustrated and instead said "I'll put all your parts back and you can come pick up the car as I do not like working under pressure". I was trying to figure out when I could expect my car back or any sort of update. NOTHING WAS DONE FOR OVER WEEK. 64 hours of having my car and NOTHING WAS DONE! I asked Robert to paint a wire with liquid tape that was exposed and he didn't even do that! I asked for my bushings on my leaf spring suspension to be replaced and he never ordered them either. Terrible place and I won't be back! Good luck to you guys. I will make sure to let everyone know to avoid this spot! read more

Kar Masters - Auto Repair Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Both times that I went to Kar Masters, I was very satisfied with the experience. He is honest, and that's a great trait to have in a mechanic. I went there with what I thought was a broken latch on my trunk; he fixed it immediately and sent me away without charging me anything. I went to a place on Pico in West Hollywood, and the guy gave me a bunch of computer graphs, telling me I needed $ 1,500 worth of work. Then I went to my honest mechanic, and he told me I only needed 300 dollars' worth of work. It pays to go to an honest mechanic. Kar Masters told me I only needed a new gas cap when he could have robbed me like other places. I plan on taking my car in for scratch removal. I'm pretty sure he'll do a good job. read more

This is honestly the only place I trust with my life, I mean my car. Everything was seamless from the moment a tree fell on my car, (funny now, not when it happened) taking out the entire back of it, including wiper and all when the storms started. Arthur (the owner) is the most professional and pleasant person to communicate with. He went above and beyond to make my Porsche SUV look literally brand new. They do an incredible job and really make sure to take care of their customers. He even fixed a few other small things I needed, I felt very grateful and pleasantly surprised. Very timely and amazing service. 10/10! Thank you very much! read more

I WANNA GIVE THIS PLACE 100 stars. BEST WORK EVER on the smallest or BIGGEST DAMAGES. THEY DO EXCEPTIONAL WORK ON ANY CAR and bring it back to LIFE. LOOKS LIKE YOU PICKED IT UP FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND DROVE OFF THE LOT. Let be clear I wasn't forced to write this nor am I a BOT. This review is truly from the heart. AND WRITTEN Because the MANAGER ARTUR cares about you AND YOUR CAR. BUT most importantly you. Now if you live in LA and its raining you know We have the craziest drivers. Just bought a new tesla and this woman was speeding to get past another car and of course mis judged her space and almost rear ended the F out of me. I didn't wanna get hit, so upon noticing in my rearview mirror I immediately pulled closer to my right to avoid the hit and in doing so I scrapped my wheel on the curb sacrificing my car versus myself. I called KAR MASTERS the owner was incredibly accepting and compassionate. He said whether it was your fault or not I AM GLAD YOU ARE ALRIGHT because YOU ARE NEEDED in this world not the CAR. Right then and there I new this was the best bodyshop for me. He fixed the size of my wheels for an exceptional price and the best part was I had my car the next day. It's unbelievable how quick and professional their turn around time is. THIS FOR ME IS A1 customer service but the manger ARTUR is extremely LOVING and PERSONABLE. Even though my car was there for a short period of time his updates were super frequent and adequate. TRUST THEM WITH YOUR CAR AND YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. THANK YOU ARTUR THANK YOU KAR MASTERS. read more

They're cheaters, they are supposed to have removed the bumper and repair the damage but they only put glue on it. They charged very expensive for nothing. Never comeback read more

I got a recommendation to seek out Roberto here at Kar Masters when I needed a difficult diagnosis and repair in my car's instrument cluster. He's well known and much in demand, so it took a few days to get my car looked at and repaired, but WOW it was worth every minute of the wait, and worth easily twice what Roberto charged me for his services. This is the rare mechanic who gives more careful attention and care than you dare hope for. After this repair I have a new permanent mechanic I will trust my autos with from now on. I couldn't recommend this business more highly. Worth every star I can give them. read more

Arthur and his team put Olive Garden to shame. 5 minutes hadn't passed, and I instantly felt Like family. The trust, the professionalism, the transparency and most importantly, the service. Its hard to find this genuine care from a business here in LA. So glad I came in. Customer for life, sold! read more

I took my car in yesterday for a spark plug and ignition coil change. The first thing I noticed was how great communication was with Arthur. He was honest and quick to respond. Also was on top of letting me know how everything was going. You can tell he cares about the business. The best thing was how fast they worked. He let me know he was putting my car up first because the other jobs were more intensive. He got my work done in less than two hours and the price was incredible. I don't have a regular mechanic but I will definitely be taking my car there again. And it seems to be they're going to be my regular spot. 100 percent recommend. Customer service and quality of work top notch. read more

Kar Masters gave me the run around, and I won't be coming back again. Arthur seems like a charismatic and cool guy, but beyond the smiles and nice cologne, I received nothing positive in terms of diagnostics. Arthur led me on to believe that my car would be in good hands. I returned the next day when they said the car was ready. I asked Arthur if the mechanic was around, and he said the mechanic was absent (how convenient). And when I asked questions about what they did to my car, Arthur said he wasn't present when the mechanic was working on it. There was no hard evidence that they did anything to my car; and that's probably why Arthur didn't charge me for anything. I drove my car out of the lot, and the check engine light turned on. Waste of time. I do not recommend this place. read more

Arthur and the rest of the team here at Kar Masters are the best of the best. They are amazingly talented at what they do. They will have your car looking better than it did upon purchase at the dealership... at least that was my case. I got into a fender bender not too long ago, and I couldn't find the right body shop that didn't seem to be ripping me off. Arthur's compassion and responsiveness gave me the trust to send the car off and they sure did not disappoint. The car was fixed in a day AND at a great price. I'd highly recommend giving Arthur at Kar Masters a call for anything car related. They will take care of you. Thank you, Kar Masters! read more

I've been taking my car to Arthur for over 5 years. He's dealt with my accident insurance claims and he took care of absolutely everything from calling insurance to any mechanical/auto body repairs of my car. Other times I've taken my car in for regular maintenance and engine light issues where my car is ready the same day. Arthur is reliable, knowledgeable, and expert at what he does and provides excellent customer service. read more

Outstanding service!!! They picked up my car and towed it to their garage, updated me immediately with what needed to be repaired and what could wait. I was without a car for three days and they drove me to a rental place - received a Kar master discount on my rental. They finished my car, when they said it would be done, and the final bill for all the work they did was extremely reasonable. Who has that kind of service ???? no one but Kar Masters!!! From now on I can say to all my friends and family I have a "GUY" when it comes to fixing cars! read more

I just moved to LA and am so grateful that I was lucky enough to have chosen Kar Masters for car maintenance. The manager, Arthur, was remarkably polite, kind, attentive and helpful. I implicitly trusted him and the thorough feedback he gave me about my car. The work I needed was done quickly and very well. I will absolutely be back again anytime my car needs work. Highly recommend! read more

Arthur is the absolute best!!!! Only place I trust with my car. Best customer service, fast, and beyond reasonable. Best in town I can't recommend them enough! read more

If you want to get things done correctly... This is the place to go , mechanical or Bodywork Reasonable prices read more

In searching for the right auto body shop, I happened to find Kar Masters. I am happy to report that this business is all about "business" and "excellent customer service." No negativity, no whining--just good old-time service values. In dealing with Arthur, he made sure that my car received the upmost care; he found a problematic situation with my car and took care of it--as a courtesy. At a time when there is massive price gouging and indifference in the area of customer service, this business retains values that us consumers take notice. You can't go wrong by trusting Kar Masters with your car! read more

The best of the best! I won't take my car anywhere else. Arthur makes every process smooth and gets the job done within a timely manner. I got into an accident on the freeway and I brought my car here after a friend from church referred me to them. The moment Arthur contacted me everything seemed to be under control. I brought my car in, it was fast, easy and I felt comfortable leaving it in their hands. They're also in the enterprise vicinity for rental pick up and drop off. My bender and grill were replaced everything looks just like when I took it off the lot. I can't stop smiling. Arthur and the guys are awesome. I'm so glad I came to their shop! Check them out! read more

If I could give this place 100 stars I would! When I say that Ray worked magic on my car I literally mean magic! The car looks better then when I 1st got it! I got it fast and at a ridiculously low price. Look at how I brought it in and what he did in less then a week!! Was so happy I almost cried. read more

Can't recommend these guys enough, Roberto and the team are really fantastic. I bought a 20 year old Jeep that hadn't been well maintained - they did a bunch of work on it, always super knowledgable & they went above and beyond to make sure everything was up to scratch. Always gave me a great price & turnaround on the repairs as well. read more

Ray is an older romanian sweetheart and his staff keeps on being by my side, surprising me with great quality and genuine service. I bought a used 2006 Honda CR-V from a junkyard and in 2 weeks they 1) replaced air conditioning and radiator 2) fixed the front frame and bumper 3) replaced flashing lights 4) got it gas checked and running 5) repainted the front All the body and mechanic work they do is spotless. I went yesterday because I had a coolant leak for my car, I arrived at 3:30pm nobody on site to check you in, so you have to find someone to help you, I gave Leon 2 days in advance to fix my car issue and gives me and excuse he won't be able to have an appointment for me till Friday, I recommend everyone go to another mechanic someone who will take care of you and give you a great service and time convenient for you. this IS NOT the shop you want to go. read more

Ray and his staff have been servicing my Diesel truck for three years. Prior to that it had only seen the inside of the Ford dealership. Their work is good, affordable and I don't feel slimed when I leave. Take your vehicle to Ray and forget about your worries. I'm the original owner and my truck has 250000+ miles and it's in tip top shape. I don't skimp on parts and service. I demand top quality work and am pleasantly surprised when I get it for less than an are and a leg. read more

This review is overdue but I have to praise Kar Masters. I have own a few cars in the past 20 years, I have been going to Kar Master for my car maintenance and repair since 1998. The operation is top notch, and the best service for your money. They always take care of me, and the price compared to the other big guys are offering? They always have the cheapest deal. I have nothing but good things to say about Ray and Kar Masters. When I lived in the neighborhood, I took my little Suzuki to them for a radiator replacement and brakes. I found the work to be excellent, the prices to be fair, and Ray to be a pretty amusing guy. Unfortunately, that car got wrecked and I ended up taking the bus for the next three years, then moved out of the area. But I still recommend Kar Masters to my friends who live out there. read more

My new fave mechanic! My fiancé and I bought an old Jeep with many problems! Ray and his team are always there to help. They're fixed so many things on our Jeep and are super affordable! I recommend this place to anyone with car troubles! read more

My daughter's customer recommended that she bring her 2009 Honda Civic to Kar-Masters to repair her front end after a fender-bender. Ray fixed it for a great price and told her to please bring it back as he hadn't had time to do a gratis oil change! When she need service, she went back and just loves him. When my service reminder light came on in my 2006 Honda indicating it was time for an oil change and transmission fluid change, Ray quoted a price for both that was the same as the dealer would charge for just the tranny fluid. He dropped me off at my daughter's place and picked me up when he was finished with the car. He's such a sweet man that you really want to give him your business. Don't let the youngsters on here fool you into thinking Ray is an old guy. He's probably in his 60s, knows his way around a car, treats you with old school manners, and takes care of the problem. Romanian with crystal blue eyes, he will charm you with his manner and probably charm your car into behaving. He and his team know cars from bumper to bumper, tire to roof and will make your wheels look like a million bucks. read more

Brought my good old 2006 Ford Focus in for a new battery and they fixed it up right away... seriously, the whole endeavor was quicker than ordering a pizza delivery, at just about 30mins start to finish. Not only that, but Ray was so kind, considerate and helpful, as was the mechanic he had working on my car. And, to top it all off they even through in some bonus work fixing my rear view side mirror that was duct taped on due to some over and/ under estimating the space between the mirror and wall when I first moved into my new apartment last year with its tight parking garage. Excellent and fast service, with hearts of gold + I absolutely loved seeing that Ray even had a Spanish language version of Deepok Chopra's "the seven spiritual laws of success" on his desk - the spiritual intellectual mechanics are my new favorite people and I won't hesitate to bring my car back if I ever need anything else! Huge thanks to Kar-Masters! read more

They got me out of a jam I could not get to my mechanic and even went to a neighbor to get me the part I needed to get me back on the road..kudos to service read more

I have been dealing with Karmasters for 18 years. my entire family has taken cars there at one time or another for different ailments...although we have had issues on and off, I have to say that I trust this garage and their honesty more than any other garage in this general area. I grew up in east hollywood and can tell you lots of stories about unscrupulous auto places...if there is a problem, I can always go back to Karmasters and work it out with them...the best approach is to be very explicit about what you want done and how...then there is no misunderstanding. they have always done work for me at a much lower cost than dealerships would charge... read more

A great little hole-in-the-wall gem. Good work, quick and cheap, no swindle!

These guys always take care of me and my car. They are fair, kind, honest, and generous. They also get parts a lot faster than my old mechanic. I can't recommend them more. read more

Angels are real! I have never met a man quite like Ray (the owner), who just finished working on my car after a hit-and-run incident. In addition to repairing what needed to be fixed due to the accident, he also took it upon himself to fix the alignment and the power steering, and Scraps (my car) is running better than ever. He did thousands of dollars' worth of work for next to nothing, and didn't charge me a cent more than his original quote, because he just wanted to help me out. I'm so grateful for the speedy work that he did, even more grateful that he did it for next to no money, but the most grateful that he just called me for no reason other than to thank ME for being a nice, honest person, and to tell me I have a friend in him and a mechanic for life. Can you believe that?! I teared up when he hugged me earlier today, but that call really made me cry. It solidifies in my mind what my mother always tells me, that everything happens for a reason. Please go see Ray at Kar Masters with your car troubles, because he's a nice older man who won't bullshit you, and WILL do great work. read more

I was looking for an affordable alternative to a dealer to get my brakes done, as well as trying to stay in my neighborhood. I don't recommend this place because they did an ok job on my brakes- but only after I went back and had to really put the pressure on them after they didn't do it right the first time. Brakes are pretty simple, so when I got my car back and they were screeching worse than before, I was upset. What pissed me off the worst was that when I went back to complain, the guy pretended to be deaf. We drove around the block a few times together, and I demonstrated the sound...and he said "I don't hear anything, I don't know what you are talking about." My dead grandma coulda heard that screech, trust me. So eventually he took care of it, but not before talking down to me, staring at my body and generally making me feel like a dumb girl. The only reason I give two stars is because the other mechanic, not the owner, was a more respectful and sincere guy who did the fix job. read more

We've been going there for years. Work has been at times excellent and at times okay. Meaning the job was a difficult one. I have always been taken care of. Three generations of my drivers have used KarMasters. The boys do good, honest work. Go to the dealer you'll pay much more. Highly recommend. read more
