When I purchased my car from Kane everything went wonderfully. 2 months later I totaled my car. I received pro rated refund from company that I purchased a 3 year warranty from through Charlie. The company charged a $50 admin fee all good. Charlie received my money approx $1000 from the company which he was to return to me. He then returned $800 to me and kept $200 for an admin fee. To basically write a check. He said for the paperwork. REALLY??? He was like a different person writing that check to me. And he said to me from now on stay 20 feet more behind a car when your driving. He don't know what happened he just assumed since I was in the back it was my fault. I get it keep an admin fee maybe $50 like the company but $200 was uncalled for it wasn't like any of that money was coming out of his pocket it was MY money given to the Warranty Company. read more

He's known for the lowest priced cars, trucks and vans in the Hudson Valley. The owner has always been very open and honest with the his customers and wouldn't sell a car if it was unsafe. Cars come and go, so if you don't make the move fast enough, one day the car will be there and another day it won't. That's how great their reputation is. As far as fixing the car once sold, the vehicles does come with a 30 day or 1,000 mile warranty for engine and drivetrain only unless you purchase a warranty through Cars Warranty. My husband purchased a vehicle recently from Kane Motors. He was all excited and thought everything was good to go. The vehicle was very unsafe to drive due to different size tires and they were in bad shape. He tried contacting them with no response. The key now sticks in the ignition and he thought it was the battery, purchased a new one and that isn't the problem. Put fair offer in on website said I needed answer by end of day so I could make trip next day to PU vehicle. Nobody responded. Called end of day. Second salesman said he paid what I offered and had to get the price he was asking. Said car was great no accidents. Carfax said it has accidents. Don't talk shit if you don't know. I read thru the reviews and realize people may be on edge when buying a used car. There are some negative reviews that I think may come from not understanding the used car business, which I profess I only know a bit about. Charlie was square with my deal, worked with me to iron a solvable problem with one of his cars, and we met in the middle. He is responsible and won't sell an unsafe car. You have to understand how much the business is slanted to the buyer, these days. I got a solid deal with him and would buy again. I thought I was getting a good truck at a good price took it to my mechanic and the frame, transmission and power steering lines were shot. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. I put down 500$ for a car. I told him the time frame in which I was going to take to obtain the loan (which was 2 to 3 weeks). He said that was fine and to take my time. When I returned with the loan for the vehicle, it was sold to another party. They would not give me my money back. This is a SHADY place of business. They literally STOLE my money. I verbally agreed to purchase this vehicle from a guy named Charlie, the owner. I tried to give him a deposit of $1000 and he insisted on a deposit of less money. The only reason a place would want a deposit of less than $1000 is if they're running a scam to steal your money because when they steal it you have to sue them civilly and go through hoops to get your money back. I had been looking for a Minivan specifically since I have 5 boys, I had purchased used vehicles my entire driving life (over 30 years) & thought I had met every type "Used Car Salesman" personality there was. I then met Charlie & Craig at Kane motors, they were both professional & courteous not to mention informative about the various cars on their lot at the time. I couldn't make it up immediately to the lot to view the Ford minivan I was interested in but explained I was a single father & my time was limited & lived over 45 minutes away & Charlie like the gentleman & professional that he is took me on my word that I was sincerely interested in the vehicle (since I had the same vehicle at the time) & did not allow it to be sold or take a deposit on it until I made it up to the lot for a test drive. Needless to say I now own the Ford Windstar Minivan I was interested in. I am now going to be giving Charlie specs for a car for my oldest son who will be driving soon so as I plan to purchase his 1st car there as well. NO! NO! NO! Charlie is a FRAUD. Charlie is a liar. He does not follow up. We went to see a car that had to be called back from being taken for a recall. This was after we had already called the day before saying we were coming. After test driving we discovered there were two issues with the car. Charlie said he would have them fixed and call us back. I told him I wanted to buy the car. After three days I had to call him and he claimed the car was sold. One of his "salespeople" had a buyer that he didn't know about that was approved for financing. A complete and total lie. Not to mention, he didn't even have the courtesy to call me back. He double and triple talks about how cars will last for 240,000 miles but then says getting 5 years out of a $5,000 car is "unrealistic" and we needed to "set better expectations". Charlie is a used car salesman in every sense of the word and that is unfortunate for all of the good ones out there.
