I've been coming to this quaint little chocolate shop in Forest Hills for a few years now. I can…read moretell you that this is the BEST chocolate that I've ever had. Good lord, it's delicious!! Very easy to get via several buses that stop on and around Metropolitan Avenue. Every time I've come here I've always been warmly greeted and offered a free chocolate. They give you a choice between dark, milk and white. They have so many different kinds of items. Not just chocolate. Candy, hot/cold drinks, ice cream, etc. Some of the items are pretty pricey. Like the boxes of chocolate, but believe me, it is worth EVERY cent. They do have a shelf of discounted chocolate items. Its the last shelf in the back on the right-hand side. It'll have previous holiday chocolates for half price. Last week I got a chocolate flag for only $4.25. It was still fresh and delicious. Their stuff is so good that even just a simple milk chocolate Valentines heart on a stick is satisfying delicious. They have chocolate covered Oreo's and Twinkies. Everything is handmade and you can tell! Don't forget to sign up for their rewards. You get 1 point for every dollar you spend. Once you reach 250 points, you get a $25 gift card. If you pay in cash your order will come out to less as well. I look forward to my next visit. The friendly service and dynamite chocolate will always keep me coming back!

CHOCOLATE GALORE!!…read more This chocolate confectionery business somewhat has an old school aesthetic appeal. Quaint. Upon entering the scent is delightfully sweet chocolate permeates all senses and awakens the spirit. Sometimes chocolate can heal broken hearts. However, I believe the most powerful source of healing is genuine love. There are lollypops, hot chocolate, chocolate ice cream, bars, truffles, caramels, cordials, solid milk and dark chocolate shaped hearts and red liquorice. Sports theme and shaped chocolate are also available. I have entered a chocolate party. Aigner must have good mold to make their creations and certainly made on site. Samples are distributed. Customer service is welcoming and attentive. Gift boxes are available and purchases are issued in a nice gift quality paper bag industry standard $0.05 with a post card description of their business and company history. I was browsing their selection and my eyes are surely bigger than my stomach and wallet. Business cards are available for keepsake. Aigner is easily accessible via MTA NYC Transit buses Q53 SBS/ Q52 SBS and then Q54 on Metropolitan Avenue in Queens, NYC. Foiled Red Hearts $14.95 This product is nostalgia brew. It reminded me of Valentine's Day, every year growing up being educated in NYC Board Of Education public elementary school and one year of public junior high school where every student receive two (2) red foiled heart shaped milk chocolate which was a privilege. As a kid, it was a sweet treat and the highlight of the year. Oh, goodie goodie gosh! I found this same exact product at Aigner which reminded me idyllic, wistful times of what was. Rum Cordial $12.95 Small balls center filled rum covered in chocolate was a happy ending for a celebratory day. Nota Bene: There is a 2.05% surcharge fee for credit/debit payment transactions. This time I did absorbed this annoying fee. The sales associate did not inform me of this fee upon payment, ergo four stars. I would return again and again.

It didn't wow me. Tasted pretty much like your standard chocolate almonds. I recently decided to give this place another shot to try their highly-raved macarons and OMG... didn't expect a macaron to change my life. The chocolate ganache is heavenly. My favorite might be the "Sylvia", which is milk chocolate ganache + hints of caramel. The worker behind the counter was kind and helpful. I purchased two macaron sets, informing her that one was a present. She graciously offered me an extra gift bag.

How have I never written a review of this remarkable chocolate shop?!…read more La Maison du Chocolat is my all-time favorite chocolate. I am a devotee of dark chocolate, and have tried every dark offering it has. Each is superb, even flavor combinations I haven't historically adored (like orange and chocolate - I know it's popular, but it's just not my favorite). That said, my personal favorite is the Anastasia, a hazelnut and dark praline enrobed in dark chocolate. It is exquisite. Service is always excellent. I've ordered in person and over the phone, and have always been so pleased with the staff. The website is helpful when ordering a variety, but if you'd like an entire box of Anastasia, for example, you have to call the Rockefeller Center store and place the order by phone. They ship once a week, and I always have my box fairly quickly. Boxes make terrific gifts ... including for yourself. If you're walking in, I recommend sitting down to enjoy a few pieces of chocolate, then taking the rest in a box with you. There is a cozy but comfortable seating area in the back just for this. This area is also an ideal place to enjoy some of their drinking chocolate. Highly, highly recommend.

5/5 - Venchi at Roosevelt Field Is a Sweet Slice of Italy You Shouldn't Miss…read more If you're walking through Roosevelt Field Mall and looking for something special--skip the usual food court treats and make your way to Venchi. My wife and I stopped by on a whim, and honestly, it turned into the highlight of our day. This place is more than just a gelato shop--it's a full-on experience for anyone who loves quality chocolate, real Italian gelato, and beautiful presentation. From the moment you walk up to the counter, you're greeted by that incredible aroma of cocoa and roasted hazelnuts. The store is sleek and elegant with golden details and walls stacked high with colorful boxes of chocolate. It immediately sets the tone: this is not your average dessert stop. We both went straight for the gelato, and wow--it was on another level. I ordered the hazelnut (nocciolato) and Cremino, and my wife had pistachio with dark chocolate sorbet. The flavors were unbelievably rich and creamy, made with real, high-quality ingredients you can actually taste. The hazelnut was smooth and nutty with that authentic Italian flavor, while the Cremino had a velvety chocolate-hazelnut swirl that melted in your mouth. The pistachio had just the right balance of sweet and salty, and the dark chocolate sorbet was deep, bold, and not overly sugary--perfect for chocolate lovers. One of the best touches? You get a piece of Venchi's signature chocolate on top of your cone or cup, which feels like a small luxury. We also picked up a small box of their chocolate truffles to go--and we've been slowly savoring them at home. Every bite is rich, indulgent, and tastes like something you'd find in a boutique in Rome or Milan. The staff was friendly, patient, and happy to offer samples (which helped a lot since the flavor list is full of tempting choices). You can tell they actually enjoy working there and take pride in the quality of what they're serving. Yes, it's a bit pricier than your average ice cream shop--but it's totally worth it. You're getting authentic Italian gelato and handcrafted chocolate that's miles ahead of anything else in the mall. If you're shopping at Roosevelt Field and want a sweet break that feels a little elevated, Venchi is a must. It's perfect for date day, a treat with the kids, or even a little solo indulgence. We'll definitely be back--and next time, we're trying the chocolate fountain!

As we're browsing, instead of an employee greeting the customers he would just keep saying "you have to come to this side of the store to order gelato" I did notice a couple of people walk out after that. I was interested in their coffee menu, which had names & illustrations making them look more like dessert coffees - but no description. As I'm standing on the side for gelato orders, I'm once again told where to stand for gelato orders before another employee turns around, sees me and it seemed like was was trying to avoid me. I asked about the coffee drinks and was given just basic descriptions like he couldn't be bothered and was trying to get it over with. Which was unfortunate because that's when I decided to say "thank you have a nice day" and walked out. Their coffee menu was pretty decently priced too. Perhaps I would have ordered a drink along with gelato had the staff been more professional.
