Great food! Great service! Will definitely be back again. We were leaving when the live music started but heard one song. They were also great and wish we came a little later to hear more of their songs. read more

This restaurant just keeps getting better. The Korean Chicken is AMAZING. So is the sticky rice! I always substitute the potato salad with their yummy garlic fries. read more

I love this place! I could eat here everyday if it wasn't so far from me. The poke is delicious, tastes like Hawaii, very fresh and tender! Has great flavors and beautifully presented. Yum! I've also tried the loco moco, that put me in a happy food coma. It was so good that I kept eating until I could barely breathe. HAHAHA! Can't wait to try more of the food, so far everything is delicious! The service is excellent, so kind and friendly, feels like you're really in Hawaii and they treat you like family. One of my favorite spots, 10/10 would come back! read more

I came here on my birthday. I live a short distance from the restaurant, so I walked here. The staff was very nice and friendly. I ordered the kalua pork and chicken teriyaki. I also ordered lumpia as a side dish. The food was great. I highly recommend this place to everyone. Thank you very much for everything. read more

Wasn't what I was expecting. The musubi's were tiny and the poke was frozen. Shoyu chicken was bland. green salad was good.

Kama'aina has some of the best food I've ever had! It tastes so fresh and delicious everytime! The kaula pork is my favorite but everything is so so delicious!! Everyone who works there is so kind and friendly and the restaurant is very nice! read more

OMG I love the food here. This was the first restaurant I tried upon coming to Forest Grove 6 months ago and the food is incredible. Highest quality food in the Grove.... read more

Fantastic! Definitely recommend. Their food truck came to my work and it was delicious. I got Ahi and Chicken Teriyaki with rice, salad and kimchi and a spam musubi. read more

Kama'aina - Hawaiian Near Me - Forest Grove, Oregon

Thank you for the amazing dishes and service you provide! I have enjoyed each time I have visited your establishment.

Came in on a Sunday night with a party of 9. A table of 8 came in immediately after us. So they were slammed pretty quick. Our food starting arriving after 15-20 minutes. At least half of the plates had cold food on them, including the rice. Being pretty observant of the surrounding tables it appeared that the kitchen was trying to serve all the tables a a few plates at a time rather than one full table at a time. Weird. So some of my friends were waiting at least 5-8 minutes for the rest of us to get our food. Being the last to get my food, it was hot. Kalbi ribs were ok. Korean chicken was not bad but I wouldn't order that again. Most everyone thought the food was ok. Service was slow. The one waiter was overwhelmed so it wasn't totally his fault. Good strategy is to have utensils and napkins at the table prior to the arrival of the food. read more

Great atmosphere. Looking forward to checking out the live entertainment. They're inspired you to take on shaved ice didn't know I was craving it and tell I was eating it. Mouth-wateringly delicious good portion sizes. read more

Kama'aina - Very down-home staff and a wonderful atmosphere looking forward to checking out the live music and dancing - Hawaiian Near Me - Forest Grove, Oregon

See all

We had the Kama'aina truck come out to our work today in Milwaukie and it was so yummy. I grew up on the Big Island and I miss good poke so much, but they had some great poke, the kalua pork was awesome. They were fast and friendly and I hope they make it out to us again. read more

My wife and I were there a couple of Saturdays ago. Despite being extremely busy, the staff was very courteous, attentive, and friendly. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time, and was very delicious. The owners came in later and immediately jumped in to help. They should be very proud of the job their staff is doing. read more

What a great find in the heart of Forest Grove! Friendly staff and delicious traditional Hawaiian food, we'll definitely be back! Just make sure you have all the ingredients for a lava flow ;) read more

Staff was friendly. Restaurant was clean. However, I ordered chicken yakisoba. The "chicken" yakisoba came with artificial crab meat and pork???!! It just tasted like fish and noodles. My wife had pan seared ahi tuna that was fully cooked. Had higher hopes. read more

First time here - stopped in to order lunch to go after paddling at Hagg Lake. We got our order taken right away (they were out of two of the menu items but oh well) and they said it would be a 10-15 minute wait. FORTY minutes later our food was finally ready -- really? We had to wait outside in the hot sun because of social distancing rules, fine, but 40 minutes for two plates and an order of poke? We were craving a cold drink but she told us the Hawaiian Sun drinks on display were all room temperature, and that's all they had. Really? Seems like they were short staffed because of the college students that usually work there, but in that case please scale back your giant menu to help with wait times, or be honest with customers so we can know what to expect. All that said, the food was super ono. Hope they get their service level back up! read more

I really wanted to like it here. The first time I ordered pick up and the women working that I interacted with were extremely friendly and welcoming. The food was also good. I ordered the kalbi / chicken combo. I also ordered a slice of chocolate haupia pie to have for dessert later on. I came back to dine in and was less impressed. Our food was cold by the time it reached us and the service was overall a bit slow. I don't know that I will be back. 2.5 stars. read more

Terrible service, Well under staff and the food was over price and not that great I had questionable grit on my Karbi it felt like I was eating sand. Not worth it. Don't come here. They have a $15 cash minimum to use your credit card and clearly set it up so you can use their profitable ATM in their restaurant. It's on their menu fine print bottom right. I had to wait 20 minutes before I got served. I putty the waiters here, they probably don't get paid very well either to work for a very stingy owner. read more

Been to Hawaii pretty mush every year of my life. This is the best Hawaiian food west of the river.. and east of the islands. Definitely recommend 10/10. read more

Food came out fast and was really good! I loved the Cali Poke bowl and the Korean Chicken. We will definitely be back!

Great place for Hawaiian food. I've tried the chicken katsu, hawaiian plate and saimin. All were good. Some other reviewers say that the noodles are undercooked, but I like them like that. Reminds me of a place i used to eat in Hawaii. Atmosphere is great and restaurant and bathrooms are clean. read more

I see my cousin Mazie was here last year... I cannot believe that in over a year she never told me about this place, probably because she wanted to keep it to herself. Lucky for you, I'm going to let you in on the secret. Wherever you are, wherever you'd have Hawaiian food before, get yourself to Kama'aina, soon! It's the best stateside Hawaiian food I have ever had, and I have had a lot! It's casual but fun, well priced but quality food, the ingredients will surprise your mouth in ways you didn't know you'd been missing out on. Hawaiian food is simple, I get it. Kama'aina has taken those flavors and recipes that you know, and made them their own. They've got a few secret tricks up their sleeve, taste and see. Aloha! read more

Now, I will say, we showed up a bit late and the house was packed. We showed up 45 minutes before closing, waited 20 minutes to be seated, another 20 minutes for my family's food to be delivered and an additional 10 minutes for mine to show up. I was the last person served in the restaurant (somebody has to be) but the fact that we weren't all served at the same time wasn't so great. The food was a bit on the bland side and over priced for what you get which consists of macaroni salad and rice on each plate with an entree. My wife's shredded pork had decent flavor, my youngest son's breaded chicken cutlet was bland without the sauce, my oldest son's deep fried pork bits were so-so but you at least you could taste them. I had the wun tun min. Not so great... The charsiu and wun tun tasted and felt store bought, the noodles were undercooked, the green onions were missing and the broth was bland. I'm willing to try this place again during a slower part of the day. I'm hoping that the quality of the food will be better when the kitchen staff aren't focused on going home. read more

This place is SO delicious! We have gone several times since we found it and the owners are always so welcoming. Prices are great and the portions are huge! Mac salad is a must! Their Spicy Poke and garlic fries are two of my favorites! If you haven't been here, GO! read more

This establishment, I feel, gives the full Hawaiian experience. As soon as I walked in the door, I felt the Aloha spirit, with the servers being so attentive and friendly and the reggae tunes in the background. It felt like I was having lunch with family. The food was phenomenal, probably the best I've had on the mainland, and the most comparable to what I've had on the island of Oahu. I ordered "The Big One" plate, which I would recommend to someone who has never had Hawaiian food before. Definitely recommend this place and I will be going back! read more

This is one our new favorite restaurants in FG and a must stop for all Boxer parents coming to the games. Absolute favorite is the garlic furikake fries, kalbi, smoked meat & the furikaki rice. Atmosphere is great, nice beer menu and the service is on point! We had Sierra (sp?) and she was so great! She not only helped us pick out things from the menu but informed us on what was new in Forest Grove since we were there last season. Will come back every time we're in The Grove! read more

Atmosphere:5 Food:5 Service:5 Overall:5 My wife and I are here for our son's first home football game and had absolutely no clue what was good around these parts. One of the parents suggested Kama Aina and we are so happy they did! First of all, walking into the place we were greeted with a smile by the Manager and later our waitress, Sierra. She was extremely polite and attentive throughout our meal. She suggested the Kalua Pig plate and OMG the meat melts in your mouth! Overall we are extremely happy to have found a new spot for dinner when we come see our son's games. read more

Well, we just got back from lunch. And I have been popping in from time to time to grab a bite with my daughter. If you like REAL Hawaiian food, this place will bring you back. We have gotten better and better tastes each time I think. No. I know. They have repeatedly tweaked the menu, but in small and GOOD ways. I have not run into a bad item yet now! No joke. The owner and crew have gown this spot in just under a year. And in the culinary industry, that's a hard thing to do. But they are killing it. Staff is always friendly and well mannered. On top of filling drinks and checking on your needs. The food. Lord the food. BROKE-DA-MOUT. (Really really good). Like Kalbi? You will love theirs. The flavors are Fantastic. The garlic furikaki fries while just an appetizer, are mouth watering. I love the Korean chicken. But honestly, the kalua pork, I gain weight just mentioning it. The texture, flavor, and consistency are EXACTLY how they should be if you could get it right out the imu (underground oven traditionally used to make this treat). Dessert. Try and pick one. I dare you. We have had several offerings. They are all great, but the one that gets me. Lilikoi cheesecake. They use an ACTUAL lilikoi purée. What is that? It's in the family of passion fruit, but has a very unique flavor that is hawaii's own. My family and I are happy they are here and we will keep giving and bringing them business in hopes they will never go. Keep the Ono stuffs coming! read more

Was born in Hawaii and enjoy the traditions we brought here to Oregon within my families Hawaiian cooking. But it's nice to have a place that you can go to and get a true broke da mouth meal. A little spendy, for me, but well worth it, especially with a loved one. read more

I really like this place. Had a great lunch here. Best food this side of Maui.

I called at 5:01 pm on a Sunday and only ordered three of the main courses with fries. Around 1.5 hrs later my food is ready, without an apology, discount or acknowledgement that it took so long. I will not be returning and I will tell friends not to eat here as well. The main restaurant was very slow, so there's no excuse for such bad service. I don't see them being here much longer if this slow service continues. read more

So far the best local food I've tasted in oregon. Loved the fact I could enjoy my favorite foods in more of an upscale environment. Presentation added to the already good tasting food. read more

Service was great! Food was enh. My mom grew up in Kailua Oahu. Really, she knows GOOD Hawaiin. This wasn't.

What a nice find thanks to Yelp! This place has great food with wonderful friendly service. My chicken katsu was delicious & my niece enjoyed her teriyaki chicken. The garlic fries were crispy on the outside & soft on the inside, just the way we like them. And it always makes me happy to see Hawaiian Sun drinks available. read more

Thank you, Chef Kevin, for your support of Mountainside High. Great food and service. Sorry about the rain!

Had a party of 9, no set ups, no napkins, food came out at different times, food was luke warm, server was annoyed that we were asking for food items that didn't come out. I love Hawaiian food and came all the way out from Beaverton to try this place, I was not impressed. Coming from the service industry, I work 10 times harder to please the customers because of the gratuity. read more
