Pineapple beef and teriyaki chicken, tender and huge, but just ok on taste
    Erin O.

I got my order thru Grubhub, so am rating the food alone. Huge portions. I tried the teriyaki chicken and pineapple beef combo with Mac salad and pineapple Cole slaw. The beef is melt-in-your-mouth tender. I felt like the macaroni salad needed to be zhuzhed, and I expected the cole slaw to have a more pineapple taste (you wouldn't know it was an ingredient). I love poke, but the spicy version was so hot, I could only take one bite. Luckily, it wasn't mine. But my nose ran for quite some time after the single bite. Not edible in my book. It was all OK. Not bad, not good. If you love huge portions, the combos fit the bill. I prefer quality over quantity though.

Info on the Brick & Mortar location...Same complex as Plaid Pantry

When: Tues May 24, 2022; 3:15 PM, Take-out The Shaka Brah Food Cart finally has a permanent home on Portland Road, in the same complex as Plaid Pantry and across the street from Original Pancake House. This cafe is strictly take-out, with just about 5 bar stools to sit on. The best thing about this location is that your indoors when you're waiting for your food and there is ample parking in this shopping complex. On this occasion purchased a Standard plate of Teri Chicken for the wife and I purchased a Mixed plate of Shoyu Chicken and Teri Beef. All dishes were on-point for our dinner and servings were plentiful that we both had leftovers for another meal...We will definitely be back to this Cafe location when the Hawaiian Comfort Food craving hits us again...Aloha & A Hui Hou

Momo chicken, short ribs, rice and Mac salad.

Beehive parking is a nightmare, but once you find one, there's plenty of food trucks. Husband is from O'ahu, and saw "Shaka Dogs" on the side of a lime green food truck. The "Shaka" part stood out to him and so he bypassed every truck and went straight to the lime green truck, titled "Shaka Brahs." He was happy to see the menu items, flavor syrups, and pidgin lingo on the menu and the truck. Husband began asking people if they've eaten there before and one guy said yes and said it's authentic. Husband has become skeptical from trying Hawaiian Time because he said it was rubbish and not authentic, and offensive to Hawaiian food. The odor coming from the truck was ono. It smelled like Korean short ribs and the spoonfuls of meat they were shoveling into people's lunch plates were good portions. Husband ordered momo chicken and short ribs. We came with friends, and they ordered momo chicken and the momo chicken ran out so they got substituted with Shaka Dogs (husband said it tasted like shoyu hot dogs) for one of their takeouts. Mac salad was on point, husband said, "Tastes like tutu's recipe." Husband tested them by ordering food in pidgin, and they understood him. That was a +++ for him. Owner liked my mask I was wearing, tribal design by a friend in O'ahu and asked if we had more. We ordered some for him from our friend Jim, the owner of Koalition Grillz. Great customer service. Great small business. We've already told others about this place and the tribal face masks are on their way to Oregon. Māhalo for ono kine grindz.

Teriyaki ribs, today's special, were so yummy

Food was delicious, as always. First time at the south location. I took my order to go, but the restaurant is very cute inside, with a few tables and a gorgeous mural taking up most of the wall. So happy to see the business growing from the food cart at the Bee Hive where we first met. Keep up the delicious cooking, Jake!

Short ribs and teriyaki chicken plate, maikai nō!! ('So good' in Hawaiian for the basic folk)

Two thumbs up!! And two pinkies up too, SHAKA BRAH!!! Seriously, they have world class Hawaiian food! I know what you're thinking, "I can make a mean grilled cheese at home." But, you can't actually make it as good as this food truck. They straight up perfected it. And the plate meals are totes banging too! Sweet and savory meats to pick from, paired with rice and delicious Mac salad. I'd love to keep telling you about how good this grub is, but I'm driving so I should focus on the road. I'd hate to get in a car crash just because I wanted to praise these Hawaiian food gods, but honestly it'd be worth it.

Really good Hawaiian BBQ. Tasty plate lunches and a couple varieties of poke. Excellent Mac salad. Well worth grabbing a bite to eat.
