I decided to give this cart a try as I'm working my way through the carts here in Forest Grove. It's a bit of a weird combination of a cart with Hawaiian and BBQ both served. For this try, I went with the hawaiian side and got the Huli Huli chicken and the lumpia rolls. Presentation is fantastic. Service was great. Flavor, not quite what I was expecting, but the chicken was fine. A slightly smoky flavor with sauce that I can't quite describe. The mac salad was bland and I've now discovered that I'm not really fan of the lumpia. They weren't bad at all, just I wouldn't order them again. Stopped by the food carts decided to try the BBQ/Hawaiian place with my wife. We've been to a few places already, so we ventured out this time. I ordered the "Hot Mess" with a side of beans and rice. The sandwich was fine (can't really mess up a zenners hot dog). I would have liked a house hot link or something rather than just a zenner dog, but it was good. The beans and rice I thought would be like a red beans and rice with some Cajun or southwest spice, but they were just baked beans on white rice. The "Huli Chicken" was ice cold and was returned by my wife. Didn't even really get to try it. Didn't even try to get her anything else, just an obligatory "oh weird" and refund of the money. I could see myself trying it again and giving it another chance. Probably not my wife though. Ha! read more

So I stumbled upon this great food truck spot with great seating and a bar. The place I was wanting to try happened to be closed. No problem. I love me some bbq and I love trying new spots of course. So jerriks it was. I approached there cart and saw they had tri tip sandwich. I think it was a special because I didn't see it on there regular menu. Who doesn't like tri tip? Easy choice. I'll be honest. I wasn't impressed with it to much. Flavor was good. It was tender. Sauce was good. It came with cole slaw on it. But nothing that really made me lick my fingers and hurry for another bite. After all was said and done I was still hungry. Of course I'll try them again. This time for there brisket. They say texas bbq. Let's see. Bbq is very unique. So many types and styles. Sauces matter too. Go check them out. read more

Seriously awesome food and set up! We got catering for our company get together and it was so easy and was a really great value for what we got! Jerry helped through the whole process making sure we had everything we needed. He set everything up about 30 minutes before we started serving food and left. It was a 5 star buffet, my team loved it. We got the pulled pork and chicken option, it came with slaw, Mac salad, rice, and homemade chips. It was so good, by the time I went to get a picture of the spread, it was mostly gone (sorry, no pictures). We'll definitely get Jerriks to cater again. read more

Well it's my third trip to the new food carts in Forest Grove and o wasn't too hungry but nachos were calling me so I decided in Jerrik's and I'm glad I did the staff are friendly and they were more than accommodating when I wanted the rib meat nachos instead of pulled pork and the nachos came in a huge portion they were loaded with meat and cheese along with their sauce and jalapeño it was amazing I am looking forward to dinner here with brisket and ribs I'll keep you posted happy dining. read more

My wife and I have eaten at their food truck a few times (which is new to the "Zesti Carts" food truck group out in Forest Grove, OR). We liked it so much we used them to do a catering event for a family members 70th birthday. The food was ready to pick up on time, it was hot, juicy and delivered on the smoke flavor everyone expects from great BBQ! They take additional care by having created their own signature BBQ sauce as well. If you visit them at their "home" location in Forest Grove, be aware that during most days they offer a scaled back (but EXTREMELY tasty) menu. However, on Saturday's that is when they truly shine with a full menu of smoked brisket, pulled pork, brisket burnt ends, pork baby back ribs, kalua pig, teriyaki chicken, and some fantastic side options! It's not just their food that stands out, but their level of service and customer interaction. They are personable and truly want to create a positive experience for the customer. They are proud of what they do, and they should be. I highly recommend you give them a try if you're in the Forest Grove, OR area. Zesti carts is located one street past the Walmart Super Center. I always order the pork sliders... these are so delicious!! I used to rave about them to others but sadly they said they didn't have them anymore!! They have been replaced by a pulled pork sandwich, I was hopeful that it would be just as good... but it was dry, no slaw, hard tasteless bun and Some kind of tasteless chips..definitely will be waiting a while before I order there again. I don't get it you used to have such good savory food why change that??? read more

We were super excited to try this food truck because it seemed like it was a fusion between islander and bbq flavors. Well, there's no "fusion" and it was 2 separate menus. 1 consisted of "Texas-style slow-smoked bbq" and the other was more of your islander fare. I ordered the brisket plate; the most expensive item on the menu. The portions of our lunches were minimal, and I immediately noticed how fatty the pieces looked, which is not "Texas style" and 2 bites in I noticed this wasn't brisket at all! It was a Chuck roast piece of meat, it shredded just like a Chuck roast, tasted like it, and there was absolutely NO smoke flavor of any sorts. I had my boyfriend try it and he completely agreed. After deliberating about saying something, I went back to the truck and asked if that was even brisket. The guy seemed ashamed and gave me my money back right away, but then had to show me his "briskets" in what seemed to be like he was trying to convince me. Sorry, this is false advertising and you should market it as "poor man's brisket" if that's what you're selling. Or don't put it on the menu, or say you're out if you don't have any! Returned here after a great meal the first go-round, was excited to give the brisket meal another go! It was so tasty the first time, excellent smoke flavor, cooked to perfection, and whatever that Asian concoction/sauce was that topped the brisket totally worked for me. The Mac and cheese and cornbread were very sub par to say the least, but I had already decided I loved the brisket! Tonight however was a much different story! The brisket did not have the same level of smoke to it, the meat was way dry, and the generous portion of Asian topping that accompanied the brisket prior was almost non existent and also not nearly the same flavor profile i witnessed on my first visit. The beans and rice were horrible. They tasted like Van Camps canned beans; if you're gonna do that at least doctor the damn things up. I will not be back, consistency seems to be sorely lacking here! read more
