I was staying in downtown Montreal and not impressed with the Chinese food restaurant options . I went to a place on st Catherine and was mediocre . After searching for a new place , I opted To drive to Laval 40 minutes for a Chinese and was not let down . The portions are huge and reasonable pricing . I am from New York and a tough critic on Chinese food . We ordered for two people organdy beef ( crispy and tasty ) , general tao chicken , chicken fried rice and Chinese broccoli . Way too much food but worth it !!!!!

A nice Chinese place to have a nice quick bite. The food portions were very good, and the food was tasty. We had Chow Mein, General Tao's Chicken, Seafood Mix, Fried Rice with Chicken. The price is very reasonable compared to the quality and quantity. The downside is the "ok" service where we were not really assisted. The atmosphere is very boring, all quiet and no music whatsoever which made us not feel comfortable eating or even chatting. We had one incident, my wife found a hair in her soup. We did inform the waiter and he apologized, took the soup, threw it out then got us a new one. It was a quick replacement. If it wasn't for the downsides I would have rated the pace 4 stars. I might "if in the area" pass by again.

Some good dishes, good service, many tables, parking availble, i will recomend the shrimps and vegetables.

Oily gooey substance?

My experience with the Kam - Shing restaurant was horrible . appeared to be having no hostess to seat my friend and I . We were not welcomed at all. We were forced to go to the main receptionist for a table. Once the waiter came over to our table to take our order, he was very rude and impatient with us. The service was really bad. It was our first time there because my friend thought it would have been a nice change to eat at a place we have never been too. The food was not cooked properly. The noodles were half soft and half hard and the meat was very red. When I asked the waiter how come it appeared to be this way , he replied saying this was " normal "

Some of the dishes were good such as the shrimp in lobster sauce and the sashimi was fresh. The other dishes I tried was mostly fried. I wished there were photos of the sushi or descriptions of what is inside on the menu. I would recommend the takeout menu if you want to do some take away.

Watch out as this area is going to be like a downtown Laval! Entering the restaurant on a weekday lunch hour it was not very busy and. I had a nice quiet booth to myself. I perused the menu and decided to go with my Chinese comfort food classic Cantonese chow mein. Growing up in a mix ethnic household. CCM was a staple of heading out for dinner when we ate Chinese food. Starting off my meal came with a soup so I had selected their hot n sour soup. Flavour was lacking a little of the hot so I requested sriracha to bring up the flavour. Next was the CCM. The serving was done in typical fashion. Fried noodles with a thick somewhat gluey translucent yet tasty sauce. The dish had a generous serving of vegetables and lots of shrimp. Overall it was a good sized lunch portion and I was satisfied. Pricing on their menu is quite inexpensive and they had a good selection. Yelper friend Jason mentioned he wants to come back for their $14.99 AYCE lunch buffet. My comments to him is "I'm trying to eat less food than more food these days". I'm trying to avoid buffets as I have little self control. Usually I leave eating far too much food! Maybe one day we shall come for this. Time will tell and a review update shall be had if this happens. Until then. I shall look to order takeout sometime as these people know real deal Chinese cooking. I asked the guy working there if they were mainland or HK. He mentioned mainland which is my test to see if they are from the old country or somewhere else. Well done and good inexpensive Chinese!

Taking some traditional dishes but mixing it up with one or two other types of cuisines. The standouts were: + Cauliflower Bang Bang - crisp and flavorful + Won ton soup - a surprise as the soup was more pho-like but the wonton was more fish ball in texture. I liked the flavor of the soup. + Hong Kong Curry - spicy but fun Service was pretty good. Though I wish if you ordered a tea (since you get an individual tea bag), you would get more hot water as you can potentiall resteep the green tea. The place was a mood and probably a good spot to go for a date or just the night out. It was a bit dark in there but I get it. It was a stylistic choice. I think it's a fun spot with some interesting takes on some classic dishes. Definitely a place to try out.

There are, I am assuming, fake plants at the top of the ceiling with lanterns hanging down. Which is really nice and it really gives the room a calming atmosphere. The food was pretty good, my boyfriend's family and I had the restaurants fried chicken wings, which was super tasty not overcooked or undercooked. We also had some calamari, which was really good as well. And then when our main dish came out which I had the chow fun, it was super tasty and flavorful. Although the service was a little bit slow, in the fact that there were only two waiters as I saw. The rest of the service was pretty decent. Everyone was super nice. would recommend this restaurant if anyone is in the area of Laval.

We showed up without a reservation on a Friday night, and were seated right away even though it was pretty busy. Very nice decor and good atmosphere! Bestie had (I think) sweet and sour chicken that is supposed to be kind of like General Tao chicken, and didn't like it very much. The chicken is not crispy. I had the mongolian beef which was delicious - very well marinated and seasoned! 10/10 for taste. Side rice was fine as well. We had dumplings as an appetizer and they were good too, though I've had better. Portions are not very big and very expensive ($30+ for mains) for dishes that are obviously made from frozen ingredients, not fresh. That is a pet peeve of mine... IMO, some things on their menu should be half the price they are charging now. Other than that, good standard PF Chang's with good ambiance!

There's way less table with big seats now, mostly stand-alone chair. I did wait about 45 minutes before having a seat. I was in the waitlist and someone asked me after all that time what I was waiting for. When I said to be called for my table, she made a look saying the list was empty but I didn't move for the 45 minutes of where I was told to wait. Another group seemed to have a similar experience. The menu didn't really change, at least nothing I can think of. I took the chicken lettuce roll as a starter. This is always good and it was good. Can be shared no problem. As for my main dish, I took the kung pao chicken. It's a peanut spicy chicken a bit like you would see in a general tao but with way less sauce and too much peanuts. It was ok. In my memory (cause I always took that in all my past experience), it was way more tastier. The chicken was properly cooked but the sauce tasted nearly only the pepper used for the hot and spicy side. There was no sugar or other taste. I'll have to try something else next time. I will give this place another try since I've been here often before. I just think it's time to try another food.

Service was great! Can't complain. The BYOW is still in effect so they come and open the bottle of wine you bring for you and bring out glasses. I just really am mixed .. the soups were cold as hell .. my miso soup was still cold. My food was bland and just mediocre .. sushi rice was a lil stale I was trying to revitalize it by dunking the crap out of it in Spicy mayo and soya sauce Lolol The kimchi was awful. But then they had delicious tender grilled chicken and delicious crispy shrimps so the food was mixed .. it felt weird because not everything was consistent. It was alright decent ish but what you expect for an AYCE .. I guess I was hoping it would live up or exceed to their old name. Changing owners definitely didn't serve this place justice. Not sure I'll be back maybe who knows lol Cheers

I believe that there weren't enough servers at the time that we showed up which was another contributing factor to the longer wait time for the food. Once the food started coming out, it was very fast. I would say that the food was very good. We ordered one of the predetermined # course meals (I believed we ordered the 8 course meal). This included soup, rice, fish, lobster, salt & pepper pork chops, salt & pepper calamari, deep fried shrimp & chicken with a mayonnaise type sauce, a beef & vegetable dish, and a few other things that I don't recall. Parking outside the restaurant is free but because this restaurant shares the parking spaces with other businesses, it is hit or miss whether you will be able to park in the parking lot close to the restaurant. It's a big space, golden dragons, aquariums, TVs playing Chinese TV shows. Next to the restaurant there is a direct entry to a different billard bar, which adds more 80s martial arts movies vibe to the experience. The lady waitress was super kind. They have some special names for some of their rices. When she explained the Ying Yang rice, I was immediately sold. But she was a little bit concerned for us and suggested another rice which would be more of a conventional fried rice. She was very kind to do that but I said that I do like to try new dishes and flavours and that for sure I will like it. The general Tao was so good (talk about new flavours right? Sorry I was with my gf who is the opposite of me and likes to stick to the basics). The black bean pepper sauce beef was succulent. Full of pepper, and first time I see they leave the bone in the ribs for that dish, normally in other restaurants they won't put the bones so that was cool. The Ying Yang rice is half sweet and sour with chicken and pineapple and half with a white sauce and shrimps. It was very good, but I do understand why she would not suggest it, I can see people not liking the Yang part (the white part due to the sauce) , but if this serves as reassurance , I was surprised that my gf did like it. I definitely enjoyed it. This was a fun experience, we had a blast with the lady. I could see myself going back there late hours when I don't want to have chinese food at downtown.
