We came on a Tuesday and the Taco Tuesday special that they have going on is such a good deal, they offer $1.49 per taco. Everything was so delicious and you get to choose what kind of meat you want and get to stuff as many condiments as it laid out for customers that purchase the Taco Tuesday meal. We also tried the regular serving of the Asada taco and it was heavily loaded with meat, super worth it for the price. The nachos were spectacular and the serving portion is also super generous. REALLY 4.5 STARS: It was Friday night, and the ambience was loud and festive. Several people were celebrating their birthdays so the staff sang their hearts out for them! Very nice! Both the indoor and outdoor seating areas were swanky and spacious. Food and drinks came quickly, and they were delicious! On Friday night, my boyfriend and I went on a date to Kalaveras. We Sat inside. It was Loud - bad acoustics, music blaring out of all TV's. While waiting for a table (quoted 20 mins), we sat at the bar and ordered chips and salsa and a couple cocktails. The guacamole was bland, the chips were dense and not warm, and the pico de gallo was overpowered by the taste of raw onion. After 10 minutes we were told to close our bar tab as our table was ready. After paying the bar tab, nobody came to seat us. After 5 minutes, my boyfriend told the host that we paid the bar tab and we're waiting to be seated. Nothing. After another 5 minutes I went up and told them we hadn't been seated yet. The host said she thought we had already been seated. What happened though is they gave our table away to the party behind us on wait list. We waited another 5 minutes and were sat finally. Once sat, we waited a few minutes and then I finally got up to get two menus for ourselves. When the server came, we ordered straight away and asked for salt and limes so we could doctor up the guacamole. They were not brought to the table and had to ask again. When the food came to table we had no utensils. We waited for a couple minutes to see if a staff person would walk by to ask for some. I finally got up and found someone to ask. Waited a few minutes for the utensils - nothing. Got up a second time to ask someone and waited a minute and finally received utensils. On top of how incredibly noisy it was, for birthdays, the whole staff comes around with these loud-ass noisemakers that blow your ear drums out. Seriously, It's an OSHA violation for employees to not wear ear protection in this establishment. My ears are still ringing an hour later like I was at a rave or circuit party without ear protection. During our meal, our server didn't ask if we want another cocktail OR at the end of the meal didn't ask if we wanted dessert. And lastly, I asked for a small box to take some leftovers home... box came... no utensils to move the food into to go container since the table was cleaned off. The queso birria tacos and the enchiladas verdes both had flavor and soul. Delicious. Also, I'd be remiss in not mentioned the bar tender, nice guy who was attentive and helpful. It was taco Tuesday I've been to this restaurant three times and there's never been an issue except for yesterday while I was enjoying my dinner and there was some kind of altercation between three men and I believe two ladies and there was a lot of arguing going on and yelling and you know what this just ruins the dinner because There shouldn't be anything going on like this in a restaurant with yelling and all that this was happening where was the manager? Then the manager comes up and she's not saying anything and after another. customer gets involved and yelling and who wants to be there while you're eating food and yelling it's going on. I felt that this issue was not under control by any authority of a management so what we did was since our night was ruined we paid our bill and we left.
